Everything. This is a high end hotel. A place for special occasions unless you are rich and famous. The staff treat you like you are rich and famous. The hotel and grounds are grand and rustic at the same time. Nothing. I liked it all.
Food, character and service was excellent Not really
This is a fantastic place to spend time away from work and noise. It is a retreat in every sense of the word. However, it lacks family oriented activities. Aside from the indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs, we didn't find much things to do. They can do alot to improve on family activities. We even found it difficult and confusing to get information on what is happening and when. The food is exceptional, Outdoor BBQ is perfect and the breakfast buffet mouth watering good. All ingredients are fresh and top quality, hats off to the chef for an amazing cooking. The rooms are tidy bit small, but comfy. Bathrooms are small, but you've got plenty of towels and anything you want in a room is there. The theme of this resort is a log cabin, so expect everything to be dated and look like a cabin style. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but they lack knowledge about activities in the hotel. The river view is breath taking and a true escape. I can see this resort ideal for couples and seniors but may not be very fulfilling for families.
We stayed at the Fairmont Montebello for 1 night. This hotel needs some serious renovations. The rooms are not nice. Very old looking and musty smelling. Bathroom is tiny. AC worked but looked and sounded like it was installed in the 60s, the noise made it impossible to keep it running while sleeping. The banquet/meeting rooms are old and outdated as well. The main areas are nice if you like the rustic look, food and service are great and the grounds are beautiful.
Disgusting bathroom, odor...
We thought this place was almost enchanting. The setting of the nice little town, the friendly staff and the SUPER CLEAN room. Only 6 min drive away from Parc Omega and cute little eateries around the hotel. highly recommend. OH! free parking!!!
A clean hotel in a quiet setting with friendly staff
restaurant on site is 5* +. best cheese cake i ever ate!! some ceiling tiles needed fixing or replacing...minor tweeks.
The staff at Auberge Montebello were very friendly and inviting. Especially enjoyed the table d'hote in the dining room (leg of leg with garlic and rosemary and homemade cheesecake to finish the meal). Our waitress was very congenial and genuinely seemed to enjoy her work. Everything about our stay was wonderful.
yes but i think next time we will take a room at the back away from traffic.
room was clean, bed was comfortable, rug was clean, breakfast was awesome, and included.. nicest we have stay in, in a while. nothing, we found having no elevator wasn't a problem, but other family members, did, as they have trouble doing the steps.
Size of the rooms spiders and webs alot of them.
I really enjoyed the room, it felt very homey and comfortable! The fruit served with breakfast wasn't very appealing although the rest of the breakfast was very good.
The staff were all very courteous and welcoming and the October package was very well priced, especially when it came to the food.
The amenities, the wonderful breakfast included in the price, the friendliness of the staff, the quite, the location on the Ottawa River.
