Very helpful staff allowed us to leave our bags early in the day. Beautiful sea view. Stylish room/bathroom. Fantastic position by the beach but only a short walk into town.
Wonderful shower arrangementsnand decor. The best I have ever seen in any hotel. I also admired proper reading lights well placed by the bed - very rare.
The staff were marvellous. We were allowed an early checkin from the ferry and when we were caught in snow storms they were able to be flexible with the check out too. The location was perfect for the centre of St Malo and there were excellent restuarants nearby. Everything was fantastic.
It does what it says on the tin Tea/Coffee making facilities would be nice. Garage parking is restricted and expensive
The location close to the walls of St Malo and the beautiful view when we were eventually allocated the correct room
We thought the bedroom was really well decorated and well presented. It had all amenities and had been really well thought out. It was probably the most comfortable room we stayed in during our 2 week holiday in France. It was also good having a secure garage. The only think we had hoped for was to have dinner on the evening that we arrived as we did not feel much like walking too far but unfortunately, the hotel didn't have a restaurant. The barmaid suggested a sea food restaurant in the walled city which wasn't very good.
Room was well appointed and furnished. Shower room was good. Location was good Breakfast we disappointing. Food choice was limited. Cpmplimentray champage that was offered as partvof the package was denied because the bar staff was not available and " I should have demanded it on arrival". Blame was passed to me and the hotel staff were adamant that it could not be sorted.
Nice place with a smashing view of the beach. Great shower! Easy walk to the wall city, with all it’s great places to eat, meant that it was not a problem the hotel did not have a restaurant. Very tight car park, although very secure if can get in! (We had a Land Rover). No opportunity to make tea or coffee in the room
I found the price too high particularly as everything had to be paid for in addition to the room price
I love the design of the hotel, clean and comfortable, modern and so near to the beach, lovely view from the window..seperate toilet and bathroom...a plus....most amazing hotel i've ever stayed in, of course, st malo is a beautiful place..will definitely stay there again...
people are kind and the room is clean. Especially that the location is great. we would like to live in it next time we go there. The wall is a little thinner, so the defense of noise is not so good.
Best Location i.e. near old city and near (super modern) underground station, which takes us to the railway station easily. Good shopping possibility around the hotel.
Great bar and location Bathroom layout is dated and could be improved
it was in the centre of the town. we were given a suite for the price of a double room!
The location is very good, and it is quiet. Our tiny room was nominally a double, but had space for only one bedside table and one chair. There were only 2 shallow drawers for clothes and only 4 coat/dress hangers. The hotel was unable to provide more hangers.
I liked to Viberace and atmosphere in and around the hotel, the staff were very helpful. The deal was very resonable. The lift is a bit strange, the decor and carpet looked a little tired.
The location was first class. Breakfast very reasonable price and plenty of restaraunts close by. There was no hot water first thing in the morning (07.30) and took awhile to become available (08.40)
The location was perfect, we had close access to all the bars and cafes as well as the bus stop for going further afield. The reception staff could have been nicer but it think that may have been the language barrier, can speak some French but not fluent.
Upgraded to a very large room. Very nice Perfectly clean, but will need modernising soon and a lick of paint here and there.
The fact that after driving 3,000 miles in 8 days thr staff and accomodation were exactly as we needed, and also after making a mistake in the booking date ,it was changed without any fuss. Thank you. Lack of parking at the time we arrived due to having a larger vehicle ( Mini Bus ) This was rectified in the Paid parking behind the Hotel the following morning.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Good room with adequate space anmd comfortable beds. Thin walls let us hear the visiting Essex Biker swearing club quite clearly. No hotel parking means that you have to search around the local streeets.
close to water, short walk to the old part of town, good size room with updated bath
Staff very friendly and most helpfull. Mattress could be more comfortable
very helpful clean environment no
We all enjoyed our stay. The staff on the desk were excellent * the room was magnificent. I would stay at again if I had the chance.
We had a terrific time. The room was comfortable and in a great location. The most pleasant aspect was the staff, who were friendlier and more helpful than expected.
Enjoyable atmosphere, quite room, overlooking the sea, great location for walking into the old town. Heavily booked, we had the two attic rooms which disappointed at first as there were only velux windows, frustrating for toddler, but the room was large and the view when standing and the roar of the sea were great. Hotel offered to move us on second day, but we would have had rooms on different floors, not ideal with second room was for teenage daughers.
Good location to visit the old town and ferry port Poor parking facilities
Not too far from the ferry port Fairly limited restaurant possibilities on site
Everything about the hotel made our stay excellent.
looked great felt relaxing fabulous atmosphere
Good value for money dinner Directions to the hotel were useless & parking was difficult due to roadworks.
location and views are stunning in a beautiful historical building
outstanding value for money and in a very central position near both the beach and in center of the walled city, the room was very modern
Loved the location with a view out of my window to the sea. Charming exterior with courtyard and comfortable lobby.
the location was the best feature. misleading abut the parking situation and availability of internet
It was quiet, relaxed, very comfortable and a great price
The setting in the walled city, lovely room and gorgeous bathroom, close to lift (I walk with some difficulty), excellent breakfast, being able to prebook garage space for the car. They responded to my explanations by giving us a suitable room. The bed was too short for my 6'3" husband and not a divan, so he hit his toe a few times - but it was hardly their fault! I had to phone to confirm garage reservation and room with shower, not bathtub - would have appreciated an e-mail, but it was all ok.
friendly staff, great location with a lovley sea veiw clean and well maintained room
Staff helpful. Bedroom rather basic. No water or tea facilities, bathroom lighting poor,
Excellent location within the walls of St Malo with plenty of shops, bars & restaurants within walking distance.
Charming style, located right inside the walled city, easy access to everything. Homely atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, lovely breakfast.
Good central location. Calm atmosphere. Welcoming, friendly staff.
The bathroom was lovely, new and clean. The continental breakfast was also very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On our last day staff asked if we wanted to order a taxi from the hotel. We had already decided that we wanted to go to Dinard by bus as it was going to be cheaper to get a taxi from there to the airport. The lady in the hotel arranged for a taxi to pick us up from a location in Dinard which was very much appreciated as when we went to Dinard we did not see a single taxi in sight. The lights on the corridor did not come on automatically with movement. It was difficult to find the lights the first time.
The location of the hotel in the old city, everything in walking distance from good restaurants to the beach. Hotel parking was difficult unless you had booked in advance and garages are tight. The one way streets make it hard to locate the hotel unless you have a good map or Sat Nav/GPS. Very small showers, small but fairly comfortable rooms.
best located, exquisite furniture, nice and welcome staff. There is a useful little fridge in the room.
All the Staff very helpfull and warm, location is ideal for both shops and cafe's. Hotel is modern with nice classical features - very French.
Bathroom at the room quite old. This is the only disadvantage for us
Fantastic location. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely bathroom. Nice large room.
Relaxed friendly helpful no criticism No
Hotel is located in the heart of the restaurant and shopping district of old St. Malo. The street noise at night--cars on the cobblestones--was surprisingly loud.
People, the young guys were very, very good persons. The ac of our room did not work.
The rooms were very well appointed, clean and the location was excellent. The Staff were very helpfully with our needs.
Comfort. cleanliness and central to all our needs. Would have liked a bar, b ut not essential.
Excellent location Had to pay for breakfast
Great place, great staff - super friendly. The room was clean, classy and newly decorated. Grade A experience in the best of locations and the breakfast was well stocked and yummy too!
nice hotel in the middle of the saint malo city, clean, confortable, people on the front desk very helpfull. Nice interior deco in the rooms.
Central location Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room
staff very friendly and helpful none
Hotel staff were excellent, friendly, couteous, and really helpful. The hotel is ideally located, right in the centre of St.Malo. I will definately return to this hotel. Excellent value for money. Nothing at all.
Staff were very accommodating regarding late check-in, parking, late breakfast.
As described in previous reviews. Clean, well positioned and helpful staff Did not have breakfast in Hotel given that it seemed expensive and there are lots of places within in very easy reach.
breakfasts were excellent value
Although we arrived very late (gone midnight) due to boat, we were given a pleasant welcome. We feel that the breakfasts are a little over-priced
Good location, very good reception and on site car park our 'premier' room was very basic and the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied from the previous guest
it was right in the middle of the St Malo We could have picked a better loctation Hard to get parking ,
The location of the hotel was perfect for discovering the old town. The room was clean and good. Staff very helpful. I didn't try the breakfast in the hotel. Thought it was expensive and I decided to have some crepes in a Cafe close to the hotel. It was a little bit difficult to find the hotel.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Not at all - the room was sluightly small, but then I was only there for one night at either end of my holiday - so this wasn't a problem for one night visits.
Very friendly and personal service. The owner was charming. Efficient service. Hotel very nicely situated in the old town. Third stay there and always very pleased.
Proprietors were extremely helpful and friendly; great value for money
Family owned and operated.
Friendlyness of the staff. The breakfast was excellant too.
Very good location in the centre of city, clean and nice atmosphere, friendly staff
Very good location for a short city visit. Helpful staff. The shower fitting was broken but useable. Hotel parking is limited to 3 cars and needs to be booked in advance by phone, although open air parking was available nearby and was cheaper than the hotel parking.
Bathroom too small,no fridge/minibar
Position is excellent for exploring the city. Valet car parking excellent A little noisy due to "stone" courtyard outside.
The staff were very helpful. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good too. My only critism is that the toilet bowl was so close to the door of the toilet that it was difficult/nearly impossible to shut the door for privacy!
The citadel of St. Malo, the beach and location
Location. Decor and cleanliness. Comfotable and functional.. Desk staff were not particularly welcoming or helpful about the difficult parking situation.
Clean hotel with excellent reception staff who were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was very good on the Sunday. A central hotel in the walled part of St Malo close to all the facilities. It was hard to find the hotel using the GPS. We had to park outside the walled town and walk to find it first. The decoration was begining to look a little tired in the rooms.
Good sized room with comfortable beds and excellent bathroom Lighting was a bit basic but perfectly acceptabe for the prace and star category
The staff member on reception was excellent, very helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast. Reception area, bar area and breakfast room tastefully decorated. I made the internet booking in my name, but it appeared in my guest's name. For a while I and the staff member on reception were getting a little worried that the booking had failed (despite my having a confirmation e mail), which could have been difficult as the hotel was full. Plastic undersheets on the beds. Bathroom could have been more luxurious, it was adequate.
The hotel was located in a central position within the old town, close to shops and restaurants but still in a quiet area. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable but the decor and furnishings were very dated. We have stayed in much nicer places for the same rate and would recommend only staying here if better alternatives are not available. The wi-fi is only available in public areas. Poor lighting in the rooms. Our bathroom was tiny and the shower was clogged, which meant you quickly ended up with 2 inches of water in the bottom of the shower and had to stop showering to let the water drain so that it didn't overflow into the room. They dont use mattress protectors on the beds and sometimes the sheets pull out while you're asleep and you end up sleeping on bare mattress. The hotel will keep your luggage for you but their system is not secure and virtually anyone could walk in off the street and take your bag. There is no lift in their second building where some rooms are located.
Charge for parking car was high
Very accommodating. We arrived very late but received a warm friendly welcome. Excellent location within the walls of St Malo. We were able to leave our luggage for the day after we had checked out.
A;though we arrived early in the moring (from the ferry) we were able to check in straight away and the receptionist was very helpful. We had expected to have to leave our bags there and check in later. We were even able to have breakfast. Rooms were very spacious. The room could have had a few more uselful items such as a mirror in the bedroom and shelves in the bathroom and maybe a chest of drawers for our clothes (as there were no shelves in the wardrobe in our room, although my friend's room did have shelves)
Like most I'm sure, we were only at St Malo for a one night stop prior to our cross channel ferry. However we found the owner and staff more than helpful and friendly and they treated us like we were long term guests not just "in transit" (unlike previous St Malo hotel experenices)
It was very well located, clean and fresh and the staff were energetic and helpful
The owners were very welcoming, friendly and informative I would highly recommend this hotel.
Small hotel, frendly staff/owner. Nice newly renovated bathroom. They have parking, which is a plus when you stay intramuros.
friendly, Owner could not be more helpful, Excellent room No 17, good breakfast.and good location
Friendly staff in a very clean and quiet hotel; centrally located.
The husband & wife team were very customer-focused & friendly. Charlotte, their front-desk rep, was very helpful in helping me guide my rented vauxhall astra into the cramped entrance down into the basement carpark (u definitely need help getting anything larger than a peugeot 206 down into here!!). The charme room we stayed in was a decent size & appeared to have a renovated bathroom (we requested a change as the original room had a musty odor inside but the husband and wife hotel-owner team were really quite excellent in allowing us to swap to another room on the same floor). The 1st-floor room was at the front of the building & contrary to what some people have written, we really could not hear any noise unless the window was opened. The toilet got blocked during the last day of our stay and it appeared to be an intermittent recurrent problem as the owner mentioned that another room had previously flagged it as well. A plumber was called in but the problem resolved itself just before he arrived. It appears to be some sort of intermittent airblock along the central drainage sump (which corrects itself many times without human intervention). That was the only thing that dropped their "services" rating from 5 to 4. Everything else was an excellent 5 rating as far as i was concerned - the owner even gave us free breakfast because of the "choke" - you could also see him talking at length to the plumber, probably asking how the problem could be solved permanently :)
The proprietors were very friendly and helpful with knowledge of local restaurants, amenities, and town history. The hotel was within the city walls ("Intramuros"), but nicely located out of the hustle and bustle of the main shopping area. Also, the hotel is steps from the beach. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.
Very friendly and the owner spoke good English. off sreet parking is a bonus.
Lovely, friendly staff with great recommendations for things to do and especially places to eat. Clean and comfy room, excellent bed. Good value breakfast brought to our room. Nice, well run little hotel in a quiet corner of Intra Muros. Highly recommended.
The cleanliness was impeccable. Breakfasts excellent. Staff helpful. Our room was in the attic and consequently we were only able to use half the floor space because of the ceiling slope. This was not comfortable and we did not feel we had value for money.
Accessability to all St Malo attractions. Clean and pleasant. Garage facility excellent. Breakfast provision very good. Ebglish speaking by receptionists was helpful. Np although advance info about the route into Intro Muros would have been helpful.
The fact that it was 'Inter Muros' and had secure parking, meant we had the use of our car when we needed it to visit Mont Saint Michel, Dinan, Combourg, but could then enjoy St Malo on foot, in the evening, without worrying about parking. No, it was perfect, but possibly a kettle in each room or tea and coffee?
Clean, centrally situated hotel at a reasonable price
M et Madame Dez were charming hosts with a wealth of information about St Malo and its history. They also recommneded an excellent Bisto for our evening meal No
Charming hosts, historic building in centre of town
the room, the location and the staff were brilliant
Location, car parking facility. Bed not very comfortable, TV programmes too restricted, not adequate seating.
The location was amazing, very central and close to the lovely bars and restaurants whilst still managing to be quiet! The bed was so short! I am 5 foot 2 inches and my feet came out the bottom of the bed ... if that isn't bad enough, just think about the implication for my 6 foot 2 husband! Also, there was a suspiciously brown lump on the floor of the bathroom! Obviously I did not investigate to see what it was, I kept well clear just in case! Yuk
A wonderful welcome. The owner was extremely knowledgable & provided local information about the city of St Malo that was usefull and enhanced our stay - we will definitely return & stay at Hotel Elizabeth.
Well located in old town. Friendly staff. A good budget oriented option for seeing Saint Malo. Room was functional but devoid of ambience - although Hotel has a 3 star designation, seems more like a 2 star. Rooms facing street can expect a lot of noise.
The location of the hotel and the look of the hotel. The staff were very helpful. The floor covering to the loo and bathroom was incredibly rough and hurt your feet unless you had shoes on
17 century building within the ramparts of the old town of Saint Malo. Boutique hotel amidst attractive cafes and restaurants, surrounded by history. Attentive, bilingual staff and nice touches like Occitane products in bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom. Be aware that you have to book well ahead if you want to park at the hotel as it only has spaces for four cars. This is understandable as the historic buildings within the old town walls were built long before cars. You can park outside for 15 minutes to unload and the proprietor will give you a card to park nearby, or you can park outside the restricted zone and walk 20 minutes back to the hotel. We did this, and it was a very pleasant walk.
Location and amazingly friendly and helpful staff, as well as comfort No
