Pros: The host Maria was very helpful and efficient. She prepared breakfast and dinner for us - and was always ready to help.
Pros: Everything else. The house is very beautiful, clean and comfortable.
Cons: I was not given much information about how getting to near places
With a stay at Samay Wasi Hotel Chalhuanca in Chalhuanca, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Jose L Pachas Park and Plaza de Armas. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: it's a good hotel on your way to or from Nasca - Cusco
Pros: Room was roomy (by local standards) and clean, with a desk. And it had a space heater (many hotels in these small mountain towns do not!). Staff was very friendly, nice and helpful.
Cons: WiFi was non-existent in our room. You have to be very near the reception area to get a signal. Despite the room having a desk, I had to go to the common area and use my computer on my lap to get some work done. They play music loudly outside by the pool - sort of Asian pop (in Peru!). It would have been annoying, but I asked for a room away from the noise and was given a room at the back of the property that was quiet.
Pros: Secure parking on site. WiFi didn't work in our room but they moved us to the different room with no problem. Clean rooms and HOT shower. It's conveniently located when traveling from Nazca to Cusco.
Cons: Staff didn't seem interested in communicating in regards of breakfast, we had to ask twice ourselves for coffee, bread, etc. + it took a long time to be served. Food is mediocre both for breakfast and dinner. Bed and pillows are both very uncomfortable.
Pros: The food was good
Cons: Bed linnen were dirty, restaurant too. We could smell gas in the coridors.
Pros: Clean and modern room and bathroom, good parking, great breakfast (not a buffet), nice staff (reception spoke Spanish only, breakfast staff spoke a bit English). Wifi was possible in the reception and the breakfast area (good speed), but in the room it was hardly available even though my room was near the breakfast area. Good stay!
Pros: Car parking, clean rooms, and hot shower water.
Cons: WiFi is horrible!! Doesn’t work anywhere else except for the reception and even there it sucked! Specs between the doors allowed a lot of moths to get in the room. We decided to eat at the restaurant because we were too tired to walk to other places, and they charged us 20USD for fried chicken with fries, pasta with chicken (chicken was the only meat they had), and 2 lukewarm beers. This is the only place to stay in Chalhuanca and I feel they take advantage of it, the place has not improved one bit since we stayed last year, and it’s pricey for the location but again it’s the only place to stay. Also breakfast is suppose to start being served at 7am, but wasn’t served until 7:40 which delayed us and other travelers on the road. This place has potential to be better and to match the price they charge.
Pros: Nice location removed from town centre and commercial noise but within easy walking distance. Nice swimming pool at which to relax before sunset and cooler hours.
Cons: Single rooms are interior with windows onto inner hallways (no true external windows). Rooms a bit small. No hot water was available on evening of our arrival (ok next morning).
