Location is great overlooking the water. I read reviews that said the hotel is a bit dated so I adjusted my expectations not to be disappointed. Initial reaction was to get out and I felt it was overpriced, but the place has charm. Sure it a little bit drab but it's clean and the dining room overlooking the water is wonderful. The little extras such as silver coffee pots, great room service, an extra door between the bedroom and hall made me think that in it's day it was made to a high standard. Will say that I went with my girlfriend and we were the youngest there. It's a place for the more mature so it's early nights, good if you want a peaceful relaxing break.
Very nice view. Proximity to major sites and very attractive walking areas. Was not able to get coffee at breakfast on second day of stay without considerable pressure.
the water front location.
The Hotel has a nice location and the wiew from the room was nice with the marina just outside. It seemed like nothing had happened with the interior and decorations since the last renovation. Small but importent details for the overall impression.
very good. Nice and clean
Good location, friendly staff, clean and well-maintained. Decor and furniture a little old-fashioned.
Within walking distance of town centre and next to promenade along the fjord shore. Restaurant seemed understaffed
Staff, breakfasts and location were all great, great waterside views. Decor was a bit bleak, particularly the corridors. There was a mini bar in the room but no tea making facilities.
Beauty place The room did not correspond with described in hotel information when booking
Some reviews had indicated that the hotel was a bit shabby. Our room (117) was in very good condition and had a good view. We were warned in advance that a party would be taking place beneath our room, so we were able to take precautions! The party was over by midnight. The hotel in October was very pleasant and quiet, and the staff all spoke English and were very courteous and helpful. The food was good. Is German television always so bad?
A very pleasant small family-run hotel where the friendly welcome by the host and the good cooking of the hostess made our stay very agreeable. Nice rooms and lovely garden.
We had a very pleasant stay at this small hotel which was one of the main reasons for choosing Hotel Zollhaus. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. The room was fine for three persons and had a nice view to the garden in direction of Schloss Gottorp. Excellent food. We (one adult and two teenagers) enjoyed our two nights stay at Hotel Zollhaus and can recommend the hotel to others - for private as well as professional/business purposes.
The location in city center and close to the lake, large confortable room, parging facilities. We could not have access to the hotel before 17H30. The owner told us that we should have informed him of our time of arrival. (If it was so important, why was it wriiten in such a fin print and at the end of the reservation sheet). Also, there was no elevator and we could not have any help.
I like cleanliness of hotel and breakfast. I like every thing there.
Very Clean room, clean mutual fascilities, lovely breakfast We couldn't get access to the internet, a lot of traffic noise
Simple, although it was supposedly B&B breakfast was not included but at 3 euro very good value. Friendly manager, tiny parking lot. Nice bar/restaurant next door.
prima ontbijt voor € 3, mogelijkheid om thee te kunnen zetten op de gang..
Quiet hotel. Nice breakfast room. Good breakfast. Off street parking directly behind the hotel. Excellent restaurant nearby. Bed was soft and squeeky. Sink had no stopper. Shower was very small.
nice place, the room was clean, the toilet too (we shared it with other rooms).
