The Rooms The lobby and restaurant were very hot (temperature),The dinner experience at the restaaurant was very bad, too many flies arond , it was disscusting,
close to airport
The food and the Restaurant service. The fitness room has no running machine!
I liked the reception area and fact internet was free. Reception staff friendly I did not like the fact there was no airconditioning in the bed rooms. This will why i will not be staying there again.
The staff was very nice and helpfull. The room was very very hot. Not enough light in the room.
The rooms were really nice. The WiFi was not so good
close to airport no air conditioning anywhere (Vienna experienced temperatures up to 40C) Road construction around the hotel obsoleted any direction signs.
Having read some really awful reviews about this hotel prior to arriving, myself and my daughter were more than pleased with our stay. The staff were very, very helpful. We really thought the idea of water, fruit near reception was a lovely idea. The free access to internet was much appreciated and the girl came really quickly to turn it on etc. The staff during our meal were extremely nice. The following morning I was given numerous cups of coffee which was also appreciated. I think you should either get a proper courtesy bus organised or else remove that from your website. The fact is there is no bus. The cost of the taxis to and from the hotel made the costings the same as staying at nh hotel and it is also less convenient!!! That is annoying to learn after you have booked. There were flies around the diningroom while we were eating which was a terrible shame as the food was excellent. I had read that in a review? That is so simple to rectify. The airconditioning in the diningroom and on the corridors was extremely poor. Again, this can be rectified. I think you should lower your prices, remove the 'bus' from the website or buy a bus and do something about the airconditioning. The staff are great.
Very friendly and helpful staff, free wi-fi with no codes required everywhere in the hotel, free mini-bar drinks, location near the airport.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and tidy, the internet was fast and it was very easy to get online. The room was a bit cold, and the heating wasn't working.
Hotel was very nice, new the only complaint was that the hotel is not air-conditioned nor were there any fans in the rooms. the weather was exceptionally hot and humid which made sleeping in the non-air con room with no fan virtually impossible!!!
people were very friendly a lack of atmosphere
nice modern hotel. rooms are rather small. no minibar in the room
Very close to airport (9 min by car), clean, nice LCD TV with several channels, free wi-fi, free parking lot. We booked a Junior suite for 2 adults & 2 kids.We sent a notice in advance about it to booking.com requesting also a late check-in. When we arrived, the receptionist was expecting us.However, when we requested our Junior room he refused to give it to us, saying it is in another building few hundreds metters away and he doesn't have bed sheets for kids beds.He gave us other rooms in main building, which were OK, but without air conditionining, minibar/refrigerator. The breakfast starts quite late in the morning (7:00), so no breakfast for early travelers. The receptionists are not present in the morning before 7, so if you leave earlier you simply have to drop the key at the reception. There is a shuttle to airport, but you have to pay for it
friendly and helpful staff. Free internet in the lobby. No restaurant. When one is tired it is difficult to go out to eat. Also better information regarding trains into Vienna would have been helpful.
Room was big, well equipped and clean. The hotel is situated in a quiet village. The hotel does not have a restaurant.
there was no airco in the room, temp was over 30C. No water in the room either.
The breakfast was good. Could have more channels on the TV
Very accommodating. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very helpful staff.
The breakfast was good The hotel was far from the city center and from the main train station. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get from the main train station to the hotel. The hotel was about 1 mile from the local train station. The hotel staff spoke very little english. They did not speak enough english to explain how to get into the town. It is about 15 miles into the city center by first taking a bus then a train.
Very tidy and modern room w/ wireless internet. Quiet. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. A place where you can sleep with an open window. I stayed when it was very hot in Vienna and A/C would have been nice, but did fine with the fan which was provided.
the comfort it was a smoking room
friendly and helpful staff, clean room, available car park, possibility of late check-in I spent quite a lot of time trying to reach the hotel from motorway A2. It would have been a difficult task without a car navigation.
Stayed at this hotel because of closeness to Vienna International Airport and access to public transportation to airport
No air condition. The room with the window at street is very noisy, you cannot sleep well.
things just work out. Good value for money and in close proximity to the airport.
Its good place for airport and city center
Staff were friendly, room was nice with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was good and location to airport was excellent.
A nice, clean and spacious room. A big free parking, just for guests. A rich breakfast. An amiabe hotel staff. Street side rooms are noises
Location: Immediately adjacent to Westbahnhof, with airport bus just outside the front door. We arrived at the train station, walked to the hotel to spend the night, then caught the bus to the airport the next morning. Thermostat (apparently centrally controlled) was set at very warm temperature and we had to open window for air. This was in January, with outside temp below freezing. But this seems common in Austria; all the hotels we stayed in were too toasty for comfort and with no air circulating.
Great location beside the train station and bus terminal (shuttle to the airport), and walking distance to cafés, restaurants and shops. Breakfast options are limited.
Excellent location: 10 minutes walk from Steffl Cathedral and the metro is right there outside the entrance of the hotel. Free wi-fi is also a good plus. Decent rooms but very old and not refurnished in many years. Overall the staff was not very professional and did not help out too much. I asked for help on internet and was told to contact swisscom for my problem; I then asked for a map and had to ask for were the hotel was on it: the lady replied very annoyed to my question.... 26€ breakfast buffet seemd too much for the hotel overall
Breakfast buffet was excellent Bar service was slow - 15 minutes to get a cocktail.
The breakfast was always good and the communial areas always clean
The room was clean and large. There were tea/coffee facilities, free mini bar, iron, everything what can be ever needed during the trip. Nothing.
Everything - room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding - the best I've ever had in a hotel, in terms of healthy options and choice. The staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. The bar excellent and the pianist is just the best! Nothing!
good value for central vienna; helpful front desk bedroom decor seems dated
This is a comfortable and agreeable hotel with good facilities in a very central location close to all amenities, the historic centre and good public transport links. It is usually good value for money and services are of a high standard. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and dined or attended meetings during other visits to Vienna. The wifi in this hotel is as bad as in so many other Vienna hotels. Free wifi is available, but requires a 12 digit/letter code and a separate code for phone, tablet, laptop etc. It only lasts twenty four hours so on a three day trip with three devices you are coding nine times. The signal has an annoying habit of cutting out. This is not a major complaint, but it should also not be a major issue for the hotel to resolve. Even in Vienna there are hotels which can offer simple, strong continuous wifi for multiple devices.
Room and location Hotel could not provide room for smokers, as has been booked.
location old lift. slow motion when replacing empty items on breakfast buffet
Excellent location within walking distance to all historical sights in city centre. The hotel itself is very quite and comfortable. Breakfasts too expensive, nearby traditional Cafe Central (must amongst Viennese caffes) is less than half.
Room is spacious and well equipped, convenient furniture
The hotel was nice, walking distance to amazing sites and good restaurants.
The location of the hotel is very good, free mini bar. rooms are small but very nice. The Internet setup is not the best, You got to get a new pass keycode everyday to get online.
Excellent hotel which I will be using again on my travels to Vienna. Can't fault anything and the location is spot on. nothing
I found the whole experince exactly as it should be. Excellent.
Service is excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect with easy acces to museums, metro , resturants and shopping center. Breakfast is really good. Ambience is very nice. The bar has very good selection of drinks.
Provided us with an early check in room which was a godsend after the redeye journey. Front desk staff gave us the wrong information on the train station.
Stylish and centrally-located with friendly staff There's no booze in the mini-bar, you have to ask for it!
Staff was very nice prime location and decent rooms You have to pay €25 if you want to use the gym (per day)
Location, staff SPA, only 1 therapist and she's part time
Location and service Express laundry treatment is not "express" at all. There's no way to get laundry back the same day if deposited during the day. In my view that kind of service is essential for business travellers
Cleanliness of the hotel; location and breakfast Not applicable
Proximity to the airport train and St Stephan's Lack of dedicated information desk and tourist information
Internet service should be free like most other hotels I stay at. Even 3 star hotels I stayed at provided it for free. Or at least it should be cheaper. Never stayed in a hotel that charges any TV channels you watch, even regular TV, not just special hotel channels.
Location was fabulous for several reasons. Right across the street from CAT train to airport. Can check bags there. Walkable to everywhere: Museums, Spanish Riding School, winter palaces, St Stephen's Cathedral even Belvedere. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Concierge helpful. nothing
Everyting was great Internet was expensive
The best thing is that the hotel is just across the street from the Train to the airport. No need for a Taxi from the airport or inside the city. The hotel is near the old city and one can walk everywhere.
Very good concierge service. Good location. Very poor internet service, extremely slow. Receptions Staff were robotic, no smiles or friendly conversation, would only scripted responses.Twice were given rooms already occupied and twice were locked out of our room - Staff response - that is the way it is: this gives rise to room security.
excellent hotel great location friendly staff food excellent will be back
closeness to the city airport train and town centre. cheerful room and a helpful staff, excellent breakfast.
Location of the hotel, near the CAT station. Convenient to center etc. Staff in reception very serviceminded. Internet should be included in price. Big minus for extra charge of internet! Twin bed - would have prefered double!!
Room was upgraded due to my hotel membership status. The space in front of reception is not enough as hotel capacity. The time I checked in, so crowded due to some conferences.
Everything, I am going back on september 21st for 2 more nights. I would desperately like to stay there 3 additional nights the 18th,19th and 20th. Absolutely nothing
Le Meridien is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in. The room was large, beautifully appointed and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location is fabulous with the Albertina art gallery, museums and the Opera House within a couple of blocks of the entrance. I would absolutely recommend this premier hotel to everyone! Nothing
Rooms are very comfort no nothing
We liked everything about the Le Meridien Vienna and would certainly stay there again.
The breakfast was amazing and the decorations also the reception and the cleaning Thank you very much .. From kuwait Nothing .. Every thing was fabulous
fantastic service, furnishings, and location.
The restaurant of the hotel is excellent I have stayed in this hotel many times. This time I saw scratched and not properly cleaned floor of the room, missing shower caps and sewing kits, lack of prompt replenishment of tea and coffee in the room...
Very nice modern interior
The location is perfect, the staff is friendly, breakfast has good varieties. Nothing to mention
The room was very good, it was very comfort and the location was perfect we want to have a dinner, we wait so long to the bar because they couldn’t arrange it to serve to all the guests, after we sit on the table for having dinner, nobody came to serve us. This was very unprofessional
Rooms were comfortable, large and clean, bathroom was spacious with both shower and a bathtub which was great, location is excelent, the staf was pretty helpful. Breakfast, although very expensive, was excelent! At arrival we were told that we were already pre-charged by booking.com and cannot have the bill which we needed for a company. This was strange since in past experiences, booking.com was only for booking and I would be charged directly on the spot. After talking to a manager, receptionist told us that he could give us the bill afterall. Wellness did not work (besides fitness) which was one of the main reasons for booking Le Meridien. Minibar was complimentar but contained only: 2 waters, 2 colas and 1 beer?!!!! I would rather pay than have such a poor choice! I realice you can call room service and order, but I personaly do not like that and I find it disturbing. Also, maid managed to come in in my room twice in the same morning, once I was half naked - I hoped 5 star hotel had a sistem of checking if anyone is still in the room or at least knocking... And at the end, breakfast was 29 EUR, and there is only public garage which you have to pay.
Location and hotel staff style of the hotel
Location Cleanliness of your room
nothing the customer service was zero! the girl at the desk did mistake when she set the card to go to the room , by gave me a wrong number. I have to comeback all the way down to ask her to set a properly number of the card. no apologize...nothing. no hit on the room very cold and very dirty. also customer service the bad I ever see on any hotels.... too bad....for how much money I paid very disappointed!....
While all aspects of my stay here were great, the wellness center is nothing short of phenomenal. If you are an exercise enthusiast, this is your best option in Vienna! Cardio equipment is slightly outdated, but in perfect working order. By the true winner is the Precor usa s3.45 cable resistance system with three stations and a huge range of available exercises. Finally, there is a luxurious sauna/steam room/ multi nozzle shower area. Massages also available. I got an amazing workout at this center, and it made my stay very stress relieving on 11Nov16.... Shower doors would be good, but this is Europe, understood :) perhaps an additional 3-4 private, simpler stalls could be added.
Good location The stuff didn't make check out and don't give the permission for free breakfast untill we have send them email with booking confirmation
Food was delicious and it was very convenient for our early morning flight the next day. Though there was free wi-fi, the business center computers were pay only. Kind of ridiculous considering $250+ we spent on our room, lunch, and dinner.
Proximity to airport. Easily walkable to airport for our early morning flight. Inattentive, robotic concierge employee who helped us check in seemed more intent to upsell us to a bigger room and didn't provide clear instructions or information about the facilities. Room was incredibly noisy. Even with window closed we could hear car horns almost all night long. Person in room above us sounded like he was rearranging furniture and doing construction work.
I was in Slovakia on vacation, and had to fly the next morning from Vienna Airport, so decided to go a day early to Vienna and not rush in the morning. Airport was perfectly located. Also, across the street can catch the CAT train right into the heart of Vienna - non stop 16 minutes. Clean room, courteous staff. Perfect location for what I needed. Easy booking through kayak TV in room did not work, one bed was uncomfortable, I declined Breakfast buffet at 22.9 E, which was very high - can catch a bite in the airport or airline lounge.
They gave us a room from 1980s. Old oooold.
Even though they had no record of my reservation, I had my paperwork and they honored the price and terms. Very helpful! The hotel had no record of my reservation. Assume it was a Kayak issue.
Would have preferred good brewed coffee rather than freeze dried.
Location brekfast was decent dirty rooms extra charge for everything e.g. rob, sloppers, iron and etc. old facility
Location is unbeatable for an airport hotel. Superb facilities for the lounge and restaurant. Glass enclosure of bathroom detracts from the comfort of the room.
Meal Laundry service
hotel staff, room facilities, location no
Convenient location behind Parliament & RatHouse; newly renovated with nice design & modern decorating; restaurant & bar with outside patio we had a room on the second floor facing the street; despite double windows, the traffic noise was loud till early in the morning; request rooms not on the street.
The hotel is located right behind the City Hall, near to the sightseeings. Service at the reception excellent. We liked very mucht the exhibition of the artist Ioan Nemtoi.
everything narrow corridors
Lovel gracious style, exceelent, well-informed staff (Roland was especially good), and a great restaurant on location. One of the best breakfast services in europe.
exellent location, comfortable style, nice desighn, exellent service nothing to complain on
The room was big, modern and had air conditioning. The location was terrific Nothing I can think of specifically
the rooms breakfast
A stlyish hotel with excellent facilities and service.Superb breakfast. The signage outside the hotel is inadequate.
good location, easy access, modern unobstusive design the service staff is good however, they could be a bit more proactive in satisfying the customers questions. Concierge/FO has poor restaurant knowledge.
Nice rooftop restaurant with a good view of the city, and the staff is polite and attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They do not have a dedicated concierge, and front desk staff was poorly trained and equipped to provide the customer service you would expect of a concierge. In the concierge capacity, they are neither proactive to support their guests, nor do they have the knowledge or experience to meet the needs of their guests Also, the window shutters in the rooms do not effectively block out light when you are trying to sleep.
The hotel locates inside of the town, and is close to the tram and U-bahn station that is convenient to access to major sightseeing places.
The room style and the Hotel Guide The breakfast is littel and bathroom founding
I lost my luggage in a cab; the activeness of the personel to retrieve my luggage was heart warming. nothing at all
good location, clean room. wifi overpriced, whatever you touch is being charged even water, hotel staff cannot decide anything, breakfast to be paid even when leaving at 5 am.
i like the location only i do not like the house keeping, the facility like the bed very bad, the room service very poor.
The room was very big, with a seating area and a study. The bathroom is marble and very clean. The breakfast is big and varied. The waiters and hotel staff are extremely friendly. All speak English fluently. The room is old. The wires were coming out from the lamp socket which is extremely dangerous. The internet is very expensive (10 euros for 1 hour).
location at the center services
The room size Very few amenities, very expensive internet connection, bed was not too confortable
Great location and excellent staff. 1.The air conditioning was a huge problem. Could not get the rooms cooled down. The staff was helpful but made the stay very uncomfortable. 2. The wi-fi is expensive. These big chain hotels will nickle and dime you on services such as wi-fi when all other hotels give it for free !! 3. Currently construction is going on..caused some noise disturbance.
I like this hotel very much, and I always stay there for the last 10 years while in Vienna on business as well as with my family. Staff is very nice and polite, rooms are very clean and the whole hotel has a nice scent which did not change over all these years. Hotel's location is excellent. I would always recomend it!
breakfast was limited vs. other LHW hotels
We loved everything about the Grand. The hotel staff were friendly and responsive. The location was superb and the hotel itself beautiful. Our room was sumptuous with a huge bathroom, closets, and all the amenities. Internet access in the rooms was free as was the fitness center. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel, but we ordered several dinners from room service and they were delicious and an excellent value.
Outstanding service NA
lovely atmosphere in hotel, clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff
Had a rest no
Fantastic location, very helpfull and nice staff, beatufull room and bathroom. I missed prospect about Wien, maps and other turistic material in lobby or in bell desk. Also I think that breakfest should be included in price of the room. We are not in America.
Location was great. Hotel was beautiful as was the room.
It is hard to say just one thing about this fabulous hotel. . . it is superior in every regard. The staff are exceedingly gracious and helpful, so service is superb. The food is beyond delicious, so it is a gourmet's dream. The rooms and hotel decor in general are absolutely gorgeous. . .I can't begin to enumerate all the wonderful touches in the bathroom alone. . .so a designer would feel at home. But I must mention cleanliness. . . it is immaculate. Also, the business center was terrific-- computers (with printers) at your fingertips, easy to use and incredibly convenient. One can hardly do better than to stay at the Grand Hotel Wien. It made our vacation even more memorable. There was not one thing negative to say about this excellent hotel.
Rooms are fairly large for European standards and the location is great. The bed is fairly good and the bathroom game is strong. Found the overall staff service to be lacking. Concierge typically jumps at opportunity to provide service/advice but not here. For the most part, the hotel bars and restaurants are over-hyped and completely over-priced with much better alternatives just a few steps away (both quality and price). Smell of stale smoke hits you just as you enter the building - thanks to a smoking lounge conveniently located on the second level. Hotel wifi is a total joke and not to be relied upon. Hotel includes restricted wifi with your room rate and asks ridiculous payment for slight improvement. In my experience even budget accommodations provide this service infinitely better. Overall, this is a stuffy hotel situated for the stuffy traveler. Sounds of enjoyment or laughter are non-existent in common areas, which speaks volumes. Call yourself luxury, and pay for memberships in luxury hotel associations all you want - it doesn't make it so.
Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The business room downstairs is very convinient. You can even use a printer free of charge. Wanted to stay longer. Breakfast is too expensive (31 euros per person), and items within a room mini bar are also expensive. The bathtub and the shower are not well aligned and the water runs through the rim to the floor. Else, everything is perfect.
Location was outstanding and facilities were very impressive. A storm blew through one night and something outside swinging and banging in the wind awakened us. Called the front desk around 1 am and was told they would look into it, but the banging continued and we were not called back.
The location was perfect! We really don't have any complaints other than we would have liked the hotel bar to have been able to make a proper margarita.
the location of the hotel is perfect, food
don't block 150% of price on my card , bar champion working till 23.
Hotel is excellent, very comfortable beds. We had the room with join door to the next room. It was very good audibility. We could hear everything what was doing in the next room. And they I suppose as well.
Nothing spesial Nothing
The service in the breakfast restaurant is very good. The people in the reception need to be trained more in helping the guest.
King size bed. Pretty good location -fairly central. No tea/coffee machine. No breakfast included. Room basic and bathroom small -no seperate shower. Basic and far too expensive for what it is.
We were upgraded to a park suite as the hotel was full for the nights we were there, it was a wonderful surprise and made our holiday incredibly special. Loved the toppers on the matresses too! Didnt want to leave! Overpriced breakfasts and gift stores within the hotel
Lovely room, nice gym and swimmingpool area. Good breakfast, although better on 1st floor than in the executive lounge Quite small bathroom for a junior suite
Extremely friendly and attentive staff--the cleaning staff was especially accommodating to our needs and schedules. The "at your service" staff was also patient, as I had problems with credit card authorization. Everything worked out fine and the staff made us feel very welcome. Also the location of the hotel is perfect. A short walk from the center of Stephansplatz, all the while feeling a bit isolated from the crowds. My first meal in the hotel lobby seating area was a bit less-than- Marriott standards in my opinion. I had ordered a chicken burger with fries with apple struedel for dessert. Unfortunately, all 3 parts of my meal were only warm and tasted a bit old. The apple struedel was also not fresh.
