Cons: During breakfast they didn't have different utensils for different dishes which caused contamination of meats with non meats making it difficult for vegans and vegetarians to eat
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful! The breakfast was great.
Cons: When I got to my room there were two beds. One was made. The other was stripped and the stained bedding was on the bed that was made. I called the front desk and was immediately given a new upgraded room. I appreciate the way this was handled!
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The other guest mainly children were making tons of noise and mess all over lobby and no one made them stop.
Pros: The free breakfast and the attentive staff
Cons: I stayed for four nights and housekeeping only bothered to clean my room once. Aside from that, the room was dirty with stains on the furniture and electronics.
Pros: Love the Location. Breakfast was a plus& pool.
Cons: Uncomfortable beds
Pros: Clean. Friendly.
Cons: Internet service was awful. Breakfast was skimpy
Cons: There were bugs in the room and my wife killed a bug on the bed! I called the front desk and they sent someone to spray after we left tge room. Upon returning back there were a couple of them dead on bathroom floor.
Hotel staff from check-in to breakfast room employee were friendly and helpful. When I mentioned to front desk a need to exercise I was given a free pass to local YMCA. Great hotel with top notch decor and employees.
Pros: Surprised hotel was only given 2 1/2 stars. The hotel, staff and location exceeded all expectations. Front staff, large breakfast offerings, condition of rooms and furnishing were excellent and worth the little extra price.
Pros: The personnel was very friendly. The hotel provides hot tea and coffe all day for quest. Fresh hot cookies was available in the lobby. The breakfast was nice. They had turkey sausage which made it better. Free daily newspaper from Selma, US News.
Cons: The pool was small. Not a pool to do laps in, just a pool to play in. Little space to sit around and just look observe while the kids play in the pool.
Pros: The staff provided us breakfast even after it was over. As newlyweds we appreciated the extra service and the extended check out time. Very warm and friendly staff.
Cons: The toilet in the room were not cleaned out completely.
Pros: We had an incredible view overlooking the Alabama River and the Edmund Pettus bridge. The suite we were in was huge (like a 1 BR apt in Manhattan) for a fraction of the price. Great vibe and even though there was a wedding reception and another party going on, we couldn't hear any of the music inside our rooms.
Cons: Facility is a bit run down. Could use a face lift - that's why I'd encourage you to stay there! It's a v historic town/area - not to be missed, esp if you have any interest in the history of civil rights and activism in this country.
Pros: It was a quaint historic hotel that had been renovated about 18 years ago. At the point of renovation I can see that it must have been gorgeous.
The price was good.
Cons: It didn't look like any upkeep had taken place since the renovation. Our room had a clogged sink and a broken toilet seat for our entire stay of two nights. When I reported it to the morning staff the first day (Friday) nothing was done when we returned to our hotel in the afternoon. Upon questioning I found that the maintenance man didn't show up for work that day so nothing could be done until the following Monday. They didn't offer to switch our room or comp us at all until I brought it up. They were happy to do so, but weren't proactive at all.
Beware booking online as when I showed up they had no record of my reservation. I was told that not all of their internet bookings were coming through. Luckily they had a room for us.
Pros: The antique furnishings, the wood and brick flooring, the view of the river and river breeze.
Cons: The hotel and staff. There was no AC in the room. Despite calling several times all afternoon and going to the desk no one came to fix it. I had to check out at 11 pm because the room was 90 deg and my 9 month old could not sleep. The front desk staff was more interested in socializing with a party that was going on. They could not find a luggage rack so I had to make multiple trips carrying stuff with a baby in tow. I finally got to check out and managed to negotiate a refund. The front desk staff was supposed to help find another place but instead of calling and helping to arrange accommodations they just pointed me back towards the highway where there were hotels that might have space. Worst experience ever and I will never go back and I don't recommend!!!
Pros: The front desk lady at night was friendly and so were the house keepers.
Cons: Everything was terrible about this hotel. The worst was the owner's attitudes towards their guests. The owner's wife just yells at all guests, every time anyone asks her a question. She is extremely RUDE!! There are so many problems with this hotel. It smells. They allow dogs to bark all night in the room next door, even though pets are not allowed. Don't ever stay in this hotel. We looked at other hotels in the area and everyone of them is better than this one. Its embarrassing that it's allowed to be called a Comfort Inn. All other guests we spoke to during our visit had the same problems. So many items in our room were broken. Don't ever stay in this hotel. I mean EVER!!!!!
Pros: Hotel was clean and centrally located to downtown area, and areas of interests for tourists. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and had a sufficient variety of food choices. Management and staff were friendly and helpful. Lastly, unlike many hotels that advertise free wi-fi, this hotel's wi-fi signal was strong, capable of streaming movies without annoying buffering pauses.
Cons: Selma is a small town that does not have any true 3 Star or 4 Star hotels. Having said that, this Quality Inn is a solid 2 1/2 star hotel with a friendly staff, and a clean comfortable living space.
Cons: It was dingy and dark with nasty furniture and carpet.
Frame to 2nd room sticking out, stuck in leg had to go to a walk in clinic for treatment. Went to front desk reported this and to see if a accident report needed to be written, night clerk said they did not do that. hotel very deceiving on internet, a very bad choice to the public. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, my dog could not stay here. The pool also was a mess not working, overall look is very shabby hotel and needs total makeover.
Cons: worst room ever, no hot water, room in bad condition not clean. Staff was ok, head management is very poor. 1st room, was smelly and dirty, no hot water. asked to be moved, next room was better/not so clean, bed in poor shape. frame stuck in leg.
Pros: Nothing, everything was broken
Cons: Never would I recommend this hotel. When I arrived we were given a room that had a non working T.V., the toilet would not flush, the phone was broken.
The hotel was not clean. We took our own sheets b/c we were afraid that it wouldn't be and glad that we did. In the breezeway outside of our hotel door, there were two places where someone had vomited. When we went the next morning to check out a day earlier, people were coming in for the breakfast buffet with no shoes on and some were obviously still in their pajamas. When we checked in, someone needed an iron and they were told they had to leave $10 cash deposit in order to use it -- this should have been a sign to us that this was not a hotel that we were going to like.
Pros: That they were able to refund us for the second night and only had to stay for one night instead of two.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing that I liked about this hotel and will never stay there again.
Cons: Coffee maker & phone broke. Located in a bad area. For the first time I was scared. Very noisy hotel
The hotel is clean and very reasonably priced
Pros: The breakfast they serve for no extra cost every morning is excellent ..you couldn't ask for a better breakfast!! I will stay there again just to have their breakfast
Cons: Some rooms don't pick up the wifi
Pros: The location
Cons: The main thing I did not like about this room is that this is the first hotel I ever stayed in that had roaches ...couldn't have. Food in room had to leave luggage in car.they where in the bathroom tube and crawling on nightstand. Unpleasant odor!
Stay somewhere else!!!
Cons: It was nasty!!! The room had a terrible odor and there were Bugs!!! Would not recommend this hotel!!
The room was decently clean with basic necessities but missing an iron on the rack and the tv was outdated with a fuzzy signal. Overall to be expected for a one-star hotel, I suppose. I was personally upset because I paid twenty dollars more than a 2.5 star hotel that same week in a nearby location. Still debating if it was worth staying a bit closer to where I needed to be.
Pros: Located right on the main highway coming into town.
Cons: The kitchen area near the public dining space was visibly nasty with dirty pans stacked high covered in grease and mold. The eggs were undercooked and the bread was noticeably old and hard.
Cons: wish we had known that it was prom night in Selma. Place filled up with highschoolers on Saturday night had to call the police. These kids were up running up and down the walk ways play loud music till 3 and 4am.
Cons: Everything room had a bad smell linen was dirty stained up bathroom dirty appliances was dirty as well would not recommend them to a dead person
THE ROOM HAD A VERY NASTY SMELL TO IT AND IT WASN'T THE CLEANEST IT SHOULD OF BEEN FOR THE PRICE. WE WERE TOLD IN THE RESERVATIONS THAT THE ROOM CAME WITH FREE BREAKFAST, BUT WE DID'NT RECEIVE ANY. THE BATHROOM WAS SO SMALL THAT YOU BARELY HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO TAKE A BATH.
Cons: when I arrived to check in my reservation wasn't even in the computer and if I hadn't printed off my receipt where I had prepaid and took it with us i'm afraid we wouldn't got our room.
