The Bilmar is very clean and right on the beach. The room looked over the water. It was chilly outside the nights I was there and enjoyed sitting by a fire pit that they had. Had dinner at Sloppy Joes. Good food at a good price. Nothing
The view was spectacular. It was fun having the use of free bicycles, ocean kayaks and paddle boards. The food options were great. They didn't clean our room everyday. One day all they did was make the beds. No trash was taken out and they didn't vacuum the floor. With two toddlers in diapers the trash needed to be emptied every day and the floor vacuumed.
We booked our room and we're charged but when we arrived there were no rooms available and I still have not received my refund...which did put us on a bind that was 500 dollars that we didn't have for the rest of our trip...very sissappoints
We booked a room with a balcony and the view of the ocean was great. The room was very clean, and to our surprise had a pretty nice kitchenette. The beach was not crowded at all, which was very nice. The resort fee included daily free kayak or paddle board rental, which we took advantage of everyday with no wait. It also included free beach chairs, but we brought our own so we could have saved on room in the car had we known beforehand. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend The Bilmar to anyone looking to enjoying Treasure Island. The only negative thing about our stay was that our room was not ready for us to check in until about 4:40, and check in was at 4:00. Not a big deal since we were able to hang out by the pool while we waited.
clean, and very hospitable staff very nice shampoo and conditioner and soap! Location on beach is very convienent the cost - one night 197.00 way too expensive
Easy walk to variety of restaurants and shops. Very short drive to other destinations.
Beach front. lots of restaurants nearby, large beach and good walking trail. good location but the facilities are old but good. The front desk was very subtle, beware of stingrays and surprise charges. Paid $134.40 plus $15 and got the worst room in the resort, dark, dingy room with no view whatsoever, they had mentioned that it had a pool view, not thru the window but thru the door peephole. Walls on both sides plus small windows. The facilities were good, the room was very clean but found couple of live roaches. The rooms are noisy. On checkout they charged me a resort fee of $15 plus tax for parking and amenities, which they never mentioned at booking, check-in or in the fine print. They say complimentary parking but they get us somehow or the other. I had 4 days off and was so glad that I stayed only one day, they are several great places nearby. I saved some money there. The beach was great and had lot of fun. The weather was excellent. The food at the restaurant was ok, I had to get the bill corrected three time – watch out like a hawk. Money greedy people. Not worth the money.
Cheerful rom with great views A little noisy
We have stayed at Bilmar many times and always have a great visit. The rooms are spotless, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast at Bazzie's Beach Cafe are excellent. Walk from your room to the immense Treasure Island beach, or just a few minutes' drive to a dozen other T.I. attractions. They should install pneumatic wheels on the hotel laundry and housekeeping trolleys -- they make an incredible amount of noise going past your room on the brick corridors, and always seem to be busiest when we are trying to nap!
Rooms and bathrooms were small. No fan in bathroom-hot. Bartenders were rude.
Beach front, lots of stuff going on in general area, convenient etc. There were some fees that brought the nightly price from what I thought was a real bargain, right up to lots of other places in the area that I usually stay. I'm sure the fees were disclosed somewhere when I booked the room online but it raised the room price quite a bit compared to the $93 per night (plus fees) I thought I was paying. It seemed a tad sneaky to me and I wouldn't stay here again because of this.
Very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were installing new carpet and our room already had it. Appreciated being able to have our pet there and the fridge and micro. Beds were comfy and we had more than adequate room to move around.
Right across streeet from beach with free self parking and breakfast. Not much more you could ask for.
Free parking, free wifi, kitchenette Very long walk to water from public parking area. Hotel did not provide beach chairs. View was not very good, even from rooftop patio. Room was filthy. Not much to do in the immediate area. We actually drove to Johns Pass Madeira Beach to use the beach there for 2 days and rented chairs for $15 a day and that's what made the trip worth it.
Large room, comfortable beds easy access and central location across from the beach and ammenities. Loud AC unit! A minor nuisance.
Right across the street from beautiful beach, heated pool/ whirlpool and plenty of great restaurants close by!! Only complaint is not enough days to enjoy the area before heading back to work.
Great value, excellent location. Walk to everything you want and need.
Breakfast was minimal
was good from the desk pressure to us to leave before time hour, bathroom bath shower i saw dirty with fungus in the tile,
Nothing They seemed unorganized and unprofessional. It took me calling them for them to tell me the hotel was overbooked.
Lovely facility, cheerful staff, sizeable rooms with well equipped kitchens, restaurants within walking distance Be sure to call well in advance same day if you're arriving after 10PM, or you won't get a key to your room. Continental breakfast was pretty minimal and not very health conscious. Have to pay additional fees for beachside furniture.
Returned to the BFB hotel a second year with my mom who loved its small, quaint, friendly feeling and its magnificent views of the beach. Oceanside rooms are perfect for two and provide an opportunity to relax and enjoy the views. Staff are very accommodating and down to earth. Rooms are clean and designed to add to the "life by the sea" experience. Our first year there was quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately there year there were some rude vacationers that put a damper on our trip. Tables by the beach encourage people to sit and smoke. Very sad that this year we had to close the door to our room many times due to people smoking cigarettes, weed, and drinking late into the night. Make that area non-smoking and reinforce it. Place a smoking area elsewhere. Someone dumped a cup of snuff onto my rental car. Would recommend placing some sort of awning over that area to protect peoples cars. When the hotel is full there can be nowhere else to park but on the gulf side of the hotel.
Smaller than it appeared online. Very pleasant atmosphere with fresh ice water offered in lobby and pool deck. Comfortable room, great employees. Had a wonderful time.
the beach and easy access to it. Large room with nice balcony view. Very good greeting staff.
* clean *great location, on beach * good on site resturant * Very secure * Had issues with booking through a 3rd party * no staris from parking garage to lobby floor, had to run in the storm to get in from parking * $25/ per day security deposit we did not know about
Great location, very friendly staff. The rooms and the grounds were a bit dated but very clean. We liked that we had the option of sitting by the pool or in a beach chair on the sand close to the pool. And the beach access cannot be beat! Mattress was pretty hard and the loud neighbors could be heard late into the night.
The Thunderbird is awesome. The rooms are nice, clean, cute, COOL (as in AC cool) and the property has everything you need for a stay at the beach. The location couldn't be better and the staff was wonderful. We needed to stay past check out time and they would've let us stay in our room as long as we wanted, but guests were coming in that had requested our specific room. They still let us stay on the property, park, and use their facilities as well as towels for pool/beach and ice even after we checked out. I can't speak highly enough of this place!
Met all our expectations, it's not luxury, but it's nice. Appreciate all the honest posts that we based our decision on. Would definitely consider revisiting the gem.
Location was great I was under the impression all rooms got a beach view we didn't. Rooms were incredibly small like really really small!!
Very clean and quiet. Pool area is in the center of the hotel making it nice and private, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The beach is right out their back door. Loved the location.
Incredibly clean and up-to-date hotel. Treasure Island is an old city, but this hotel is not. No restaurants or bars within a 5-minute walk.
Room / balcony & View! Elevators to few & slow.
Close to the beach, staff was excellent, breakfast in the morning, location,
Balcony overlooking Gulf of Mexico; size of room, size and layout of bathroom, quiet Only one good rsstaurant within easy walking distancehttps://maps.google.com/maps?q=Party+City%4042.1151914,-87.9843942
The room and staff were very accommodating! I will definitely stay again with my family and tell my friends this is the place to be for a genuine St Pete beach experience. A few plumbing issues that were quickly resolved.
Free upgrade N/A
I like the atmosphere and the family oriented resort. Nice beach.
Convenient to beach Needs updating especially bathrooms very small also rate was wrong when we checked in that was adjusted also when we got to the room the front and back doors were wide open very weird never saw that before the room was extremely hot due to this and took a very long time to cool down, mentioned this to staff and the just apologized I guess working for Marriott for over 25 yrs I have been spoiled
The place was clean and most of the staff was friendly. Was extremely satisfied and would definitely stay there again. It was perfect for me and my husband. Mattress was a little hard for me but other than that everything was fine
The staff was absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and very nice.
The staff was amazing the hotel rooms could be updated just a little bit but it was more than we were expecting for being one of the cheaper hotels on the water. The pool area looked nice and clean and the hotel tiki bar was a lot of fun. The staff was great as my significant other can be a little to much for some people thinking he's hallarious and they played right along with him. We had a great time and would suggest this place for anyone! Bars and reasturants are just a few blocks away!
Kitchenette was clean and fairly updated. Great table for family dining. Bed and pillows were comfortable enough. Nice spacious balcony overlooking the ocean with steps to the ground level and an easy access path to the beach. Overall pleasant staff. Beautiful view of the beach from our room made all other issues seem not so terrible. Bathroom very dated and not very clean: tub and sink were peeling, rusty, and had a greenish buildup around all of the fixtures. Found more strands of hair than I'm comfortable with and towels provided had a few stains. Security of room doors was lacking: sliding door to balcony (with stairs leading to the ground) locked with only a pin in the top corner, deadbolt on the main door to the outside was falling out of the door and did not lock at all- the only lock on this door was the simple twist lock on the door knob. Maintenance attempted to fix the deadbolt once. After a few hours it still wouldn't lock.
I liked almost everything about it, honestly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm from the Clearwater area and was visiting family in Indian Rocks Beach. I learned a long time ago it's best to stay in a hotel rather than with family. Anyways, the breakfast was simple and sufficient and had just about everything you could want. For the price and location, you definitely can't beat it...!!! I hate to even bring this up, but it would have been nice to have a room that I could smoke in. It was a bit of an inconvenience, to be perfectly honest. The air conditioner made loud noises during both nights. It woke me up a few times.
Little hot water
Great new hotel, great sunsets Parking
Very friendly staff. Clean facilities The beach was not walking distance
It's a nice hotel in a great location. Great pool! Lovely lobby and cafe area. The room was a great room but the ac kept resetting to a default temp and the room stayed hot. Also the sheets are scratchy. I hate scratchy sheet.
The personnel at the front desk were great (Charley and Scott B) and we had the most wonderful time there. Will stay there next time I am in the Tampa area and want some nice beach time and great food.
It was pretty and was entertaining.
A friendly atmosphere, you feel on holiday even if I was on a business trip. The house bar within the hotel in very handy when you want to have a quick dinner or something to drink, in a relax atmosphere, with a live singer during the night. Globally, there are so many air con devices in the hotel that they finish by making a general noise which is present in your ears all the time. This was not too dramatic though.
Ended up staying at their new Bella Vista location, which would have been more expensive to reserve alone, so we got some additional value. Both rooms seemed excellent despite this major setback. Overall ended on a positive note and enjoyed the stay. Staff decided it was a great idea to initially give us a one bedroom room despite literally having on receipt a reservation for a two-bedroom room. They suggested to either bear a one-person room until tommorrow, when a double would open up, or go to their Bella Vista condos. Had to relocate to a different location further away from the beach, no pool. Housekeeping was not informed of our occupation and came in mistakenly on the first day we stayed.
We liked having a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms as well as easy beach access just across the street. Also walked to restaurants on John's Pass about 5 min. New bed linens need to be supplied, the ones that it had are really old. Although everything was very clean.
Great room and breakfast was amazing ... Staff was fun and great.. Nice pool The price could have been a little lower... I didn't like the fact that they could take the big dog into the breakfast area
Clean facilities Mildly hard to access, had to do a U turn to get to driveway
When we arrived at 9 p.m. I found out that the room I had paid for was no longer available. I had myself and a female companion and two kids and the room only had one bed in it. I had paid for a double but there were none left available. I tried to get the front desk staff to help but they told me there was nothing I could do unless I wanted to just leave. It was late at night and almost everything in town was booked, I was left without any options
Clean and comfortable. I booked a room for 3 adults but they only provided a room with two beds. When I went to the front desk to inquire about getting a third bed/cot, they did not have any available.
clean nice breakfast nice staff nice room nothing
Placed No wifiNo remote for tv
The pool was large and clean. Old rooms and, furniture..Bed uncomfortable, noisy air conditioner.not the cleanest
Location Smell. Bed, carpet. All old out of date. This is the 70' and 80' when they allowed to smoke in hotel. Now 2015 no smoking is allowing in the hotel. But the smome still smelled in the hotel room. I know why the bed and the carpet are from the 80'.
huge room, decently comfortable beds, great view of pool area which looked great. 24hr front desk. great location and prices Nothing
Great location. Cannot check in after 9. Office totally closed. Kitchen from 1975? Pool closed at dusk. Check out time at 11 but online said 11:30. I felt very unwelcome.
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. Clean and comfortable. This is a hotel straight out of the 50's, so if you're expecting something more, you'll be disapointed. We will stay again when in the area.
Very clean. Nice workers. Close to beach. Would stay again. Dated, but clean.
Such a nice staff!. Right across the street from the beach and a cute tropical pool area. Walking distance to the beach bars and dining. Comfortable room with a full kitchen. Quiet at night. It's an older hotel with a few wrinkles, but the plusses make that easy to overlook.
Not too far from the beach, easy access location, free wi-fi and on site parking. All and all the place was not too not bad...definitely nice and quiet. Room is quite dated, circa 1960s, kinda like staying in grand ma's spare bedroom. Also I became painfully aware that there is a difference between Beach front (ad photos) and beach access (shoes req). foremost strictly adhere to the check in at 3pm policy

The room and friendly folks that work there. The pool and area was clean. The hotel was in the right spot to the beach. They have an efficiency room that had clean kitchen and bathroom. That we had to leave.
near the sea no reception apon arrival at 6 hr pm the exterior was durty and the interior like walls was broken and the shower was patching with ciment. it was very small. It is to small for 2 adults imagine for 4 personnes(advertise)
Location was unbelievable. Room was perfect for myself, wife and two small kids. Kitchenette makes things so much more convenient and cheap! Staff was more than helpful, allowed us to hang out on beach for a few hours after checkout. 10/10 recommend. N/A
Great location - Right on the beach! Great coffee shop across the street. Easy parking and easy to travel from the hotel. No shampoo provided.

The kitchen Only one chair in bedrm/livingrm. Remote did not work and girl never came to fix it after I called her. No dinner plates or teaspoons when we arrived- 1 teaspoon and 2 plates appeared the next day.
