Overview

Simpson Bay Beach Resort and Marina takes its name from its location on the Caribbean island of Saint Maarten. Set against the glistening white sands, it is on the Dutch side of the island and close to such attractions and destinations as Mullet Beach, the Casino Royale, and Paradise Plaza. It is around 1.5 miles from the Princess Juliana International Airport and roughly six miles from the Grand Case Esperance Airport.

As a resort, the hotel has a number of amenities. There is a beach and marina, private gardens and terraces, barbecue areas, water sports, tennis courts, free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking, a large pool complex with hot tub, a modern fitness center, a concierge desk, currency exchange, 24-hour front desk service, laundry services (for a fee), meeting and banqueting facilities, a car hire desk, a gift shop, and multi-lingual staff. There are also three restaurants onsite – La Patrona, Bon Appetit, and L’Isola for seafood at lunch and dinner.

The property boasts 336 luxury suites and 83 two-bedroom villas that can accommodate up to six guests at once. Cons (-) It is a timeshare organization so they're going to give you a bedroom to begin with and then you will upgrade if you listen to their presentation which they say is 90 minutes and last for 5 hours

Pros (+) The water, beach, and friendliness of the staff was outstanding! We especially liked the guys in Aqua Mania who gave us the scoop on the best snorkel site (Divi Bay, with a sunken sailboat, helicopter and submarine!) We had a GREAT room with an awesome view in the newest part of the resort.
Cons (-) Resturant choices were not great on property, and the building layout was little confusing.
