Very limited English spoken and upon arrival at hotel we were told that we could only stay for two nights and would then have to move to a sister hotel down the road. We declined to do this but because of the language barrier it took 2 hours to sort out. Very disappointing - not sure whether this is booking.com error or the hotel. Needs clarifying
Hotel parking space limited. Access to public parking a short walk away.
Excellent location, nicest area of Bad Neuenahr Friendliness of the staff, very helpfull and knowledgable Breakfast buffet Warm pool, excellent for relaxation after a bike tour along the Ahr Definitely not a 5 star room and bathroom, outdated with obvious signs of wear, lack of basic amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel Small and hot room
Its a beautiful building and the spa is wonderful The rooms are small and out dated. More like a 2 star not a 5 star

The location of the hotel is great - near Bonn and Ahr wine area. Close connection to the Spa is convenient. We do appreciate the lovely breakfast of the hotel. We didn't remember to order specially non smoking room (hardly ever nowadays you will get the room / the whole floor smelling tobacco in this grade of hotel) and the smell was recognisable. The hotel is a bit pricey for staying overnight. For elderly persons the hotel would be a perfect match with a lot of arranged programme with the nice price.
Lovely town and surrounding area and helpfull staff geared up for the older clientele
Position was excellent across pedestrian bridge into town centre. Has sanatorium facilities in the building for those who enjoy such things. Not really geared to passing trade. Car parking is sufficiently far to get soaked in the rain. Charges for internet are outrageous.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and spoke English fluently. The hotel went the extra mile with a welcome package of bottle of local wine, fresh fruits and muffin. The restaurant dinner buffet was superb. The spa seervices seemed disconnected from the hotel proper and it was difficult to find out information about them as well as about other related activities going on in the area.
Excellent quality of room.
easy parking, good breakfast, friendly staff, nice quit room, easy access to nature but also to highway
Location was excellent and great variety for breakfast.
The location was such as to be able to walk into the town without any problem but not too close to any noisy distractions or busy areas. A great mix of Restaurants are within easy walking distance if you don't eat at the Hotel. The staff are excellently well presented and very helpful, the breakfast is good and leisure facilities are ready on site straight away. The secure undercover parking is also a very welcome asset.
Very plush and comfortable Staff were disinterested to learn that one of my party (my brother-in-law) had recently died and wouldn't be joining us. Their response: "You can't have a refund"! Also, we found it impossible to reserve a table for our evening meal. We tried for three nights and couldn't succeed.
friendley staff and fantastic food
Good welcome; comfortable and very clean room. Staff very helpful. Breakfast good. Airco quiet. Wonderful location and views. Hotel follows the landscape and is unobtrusive and well thought-out (even though you have to get used to the layout).
All excellent. Staff all very friendly and did their very best to understand our requirements (in English) and do what they can. Bar Man very good and service excellent. Nice touches with the baby (wont spoil the surprises!!)
a pleasant and wonderful atmosphere. everything was fine.
We loved the position of the hotel and the view from our room. We wish there was information leaflets about your hotel facilities available in English. We came to attend the GregoR Lersch floristry demonstration and chose your hotel because your website had booking details in English but there was no information available in English at your hotel. I know that other florists from England would be encouraged to stay at your hotel if more English information was available. A lot of English florists attend the Gregor Lersch event each year.
The friendliness of the staff, the clean swimming pool, the breakfast buffet the average age of the guests was a bit high
friendly staff, good kitchen, good breakfast a little difficult parking
Friendly staff. However, the room had no minibar Yes. My room had no minibar- No good
Great friendly staff. Lovely pool and grounds. Good food. Excellent value for money. Family run feeling. Yummy breakfast with lots of choice. Pretty views, rooms were comfortable and had extra touches like slippers and fluffy bathrobes, bowl of fresh fruit, etc No.
Location near the center of town. Staff did have some knowledge of English, although the patrons are almost all Germans. No.
Not speaking German, I found the hotel owners and staff considerate, patient, and somewhat conversant in English, giving me little difficulty in my associations with them. My room was lovely with a stunning view of the town and the grape-vined covered hillsides. Services were exceptional for the price and superior to those comparable to hotels I have frequented in other countries. As I needed to leave very early on my last day, the hotel owner, just beginning her day, stopped what she was doing and provided a light breakfast for me. That was much appreciated. The only shortfall for me personally was the lack of complimentary wifi. I was unable to use my phone for the internet because their wifi service was only by subscription. (They did let me send an email on their office computer - that was nice). But as far as my further ability to communicate by phone or internet, they said I would have to subscribe to TMobile. Even if I had wanted to do that, I couldn't access the Internet to do so! I would suggest that complimentary wifi be part of the services provided to guests. It's become a standard in the modern world and business travelers expect it. As everything else was impeccably presented, this was acutely lacking and frustrating.
Every one of hotel people is wonderful. I felt they looked pleased to serve us a nice service. Nice people, their fine foods & wine without exaggeration and spa reluxed and comforted me very much. nothing!
it is a very friendly, family-owned, old world hotel within a short walk of the center of the town. excellent restaurants nearby.
Smiling faces of the hotel owners and the staff. very good dinner. Probably a little bit bigger room and looking to the river.
all round good experience parking was near by but this was known in advance
Location from the Hotel ist fine nearby City and The Room very Quiet.
Quite, friendly, comfortable, central to our travels Parking
excellent service , good quality for the money no
Restaurant, the food was excellent! also a good breakfast buffet. Staff very helpfull
Very friendly and helpful staff, comfort and quietness of room, location in old centre of Unkel overlooking the Rhine
Good breakfast Problem getting to the hotel by car through Unkel
This is a super hotel in very charming village and beautiful part of Germany. We were very impressed by the decor, all extremely well designed, the colours perfectly matching and the finish was increadible. We travelled around the world for many years but have never before seen a hotel where everything was so perfect and yet so pleasing and homely at the same time. Very impressive indeed and much recommended.
It is a lovely situation and the village is really great. Nice for walks along the Rhine. There is a really awesome, family run restaurant n th village where they serve their local wines and cheese and sausage platters. We ate there both nights we were in Unkel. When we checked in the receptionist was not very friendly. Also, when you book, you have to pay in advance and it is not refundable should you have to cancel for any reason.
Nice hotel in pretty German town. Beautiful terrace overlooking the Rhine. Comfortable rooms. There was a wedding, which occupied almost the entire hotel. We could not use the terrace. It was not possible to have dinner in the hotel, which had not been told at check-in. The next morning, we were not allowed to have breakfast in the nice restaurant. Instead, we had to move to a cramped room together with the wedding-guests.
It was good value for money. We were well informed of the layout of the town and where to find interesting places and resturants. Nothing specific about the hotel except that it is an uphill walk from the station, made more difficult with luggage.
We were met at Reception by Conny , a very friendly and helpful person, who showed us to the room which was very clean indeed. There were 2 bottles of water plus biscuits for us free of charge, which was a very nice touch. The location was reasonably quiet and the comfortable room ensured a restful night. Breakfast was very good indeed with the servery being replenished very frequently. Their brochure describes the hotel as a two star, but in my opinion it is worth much more and very well worth the money charged. In Andernach itself the Restaurant Zum Franziskaner is well worth a visit as the food was fantastic and the prices very good indeed. No. Everything was just right for us.
Close to the city center. Good and nice hosts. Good breakfast with the possibility to make your lunch and bring it with you for the day. Better ventilation from the bathroom could have been very nice. Bit more parking space just near the hotel. A bit larger TV.
Hotel was immaculately decorated in typical German style and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The only power point was for the TV - one or two additional power points in the room would have been useful
It is near station
The welcome, food etc, were all very good, distance from river, Market Place and transport - all very good. I have not ticked any of above boxes, because they did not really apply to our small group. (for myself the weather was on the hot side, but that is an advantage for some) There was room for improvement in the en-suite, there is no reason for complaint,
The location was very good-near the staion and town. We had a warm welcome and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had lovely breakfasts and could come and go as we pleased keeping our own key. Quiet location.
total concept of a hotel garni very well executed with a very good eye for details. very well served our purpose of an overnihgt stay in the beginning of a trekking along the Rhein
Convenient to the motorway and to the centre of Andernach.
The staff were very friendly and approachable - a really pleasent atmosphere.
Location of the hotel is great. There is plenty of room for everyone. Bar is very cosy. Egg waiter only there on the weekends although you could still ask for eggs cooked any way you wished.
Friendly, helpfull,and Clean
Friendly staff. Very comforable beds. Room was a little on the small side and traffic was only a matter of a few feet from the window.
peace & quiet no information in English & limited breakfast range
There were only 2 twin rooms, the other 2 were doubles, and people had to share beds - not good
The very friendly staff and excellent location of hotel The breakfast was to expensive
Restaurant very good with excellent service. Room was rather small with a poor layout. It was however clean and comfortable
A breakfast with all you may want. No elevator in a tree floors building, stairs at the entrance, not wheelchair friendly, and a very very hard mattress, and the room was not soundproof from the inside, voices in the hall at two o clock in the night, and doors slamming.
closeness to the station, its simplicity, its a small cozy hotel can't remember anything now
frthe location is very good, the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly no
Room 12...excellent..spacious, big bathroom..not on the main road
Small hotel in the middle of Ahr River wine area.
I found the hotel to be clean and tidy and the staff were polite and friendly. There was nothing to dislike about the whole experience
Extremely Clean Hotel, Friendly staff, great breakfast, good location for those arriving by train.
The hotel staff was very friendly. Nothing
Hotel was clean and charmingly decorated. Bathroom was large and included a whirlpool bath as well as a shower, and heated floors! The bathroom in the room was down a steep spiral staircase, which was hard on our senior knees, and middle of the night trips to the toilet.
The hotel is facing the Train Station.
hotel was located next to the rhine river we were upgraded to a larger room with a window over the river which was nice we wanted to take a boat tour but boats leave that town only rarely
we could not get an evening meal in the hotel because we had not booked but we were never informed we had to book for this facility.
When we arrived they did not have our booking, any way they give us a room.
Very good situation with a beautiful view on Rhein There was no wi-fi in the hotel
Excellent location, excellent location of rooms with to the river , view to the chateau Cold ambiance of main lobby and lounge, sublime terrace along the river
The location of the hotel was very scenic, situated in a wonderful little tow and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Landscape, swimming pool and sauna, the service. the hotel was really beautiful Not many things to do outside.
Beautiful location and great views from room and terrace of vineyards. Lovely restaurant. Nice staff. This was our second visit to hotel. Both bars were manned by one man on a Saturday which left us waiting more than 10 minutes for our wine order which we eventuallygave up on. When we went to restaurant in evening we found out reason, there was a wedding party there and all other staff from hotel were servicing the restaurant. Also would be helpful for an English menu ( only German avaialable) if they are truly trying to encourage foreign tourists. For price, breakfast should be included.
The hotel was beautifully situated along the Ahr River in the Ahr Valley, surrounded by vineyards. There was easy access to the Rotweinwanderweg - and just an hour from where we live in Dusseldorf! The breakfast buffet was decidedly unimpressive - especially for a 4-star hotel. Croissants were stale, and they made hot chocolate with water instead of milk.
A truly lovely, characterful hotel, if maybe slightly upmarket for a rucksack carrying traveller. The room was lovely with a balcony above the river (ahhh bliss). Great facilities (sauna etc). Not all reception staff spoke English, which in the hotel trade isn't great. Otherwise fine.
Nothing negative to say about the hotel, and location was awesome.
Exellent service and staff We were staying at the Hotel for the 24 hour Nurburgring race. The hotel did not have the dfs television Channel so we could follow the race at the time at the hotel. a lounge in the bar with a television would be a great thing for this!
Great restaurant and great location in the middle of the German vineyards. Friendly staff.
We liked very much the peace and calmness in and around the hotel We did like the vieuw on the river Ahr no
1/ The proprietor: he was attentive and thoroughly helpful. 2/ Bathroom: recently re-furb'd - much appreciated. 3/ Breakfast: comprehensive selection, and very well presented indeed. We could not fault this hotel
Everything was perfect. Very friendly staff; Excellent accommodation.Fantastic location in the middle of the old city. Breakfast buffet with a lot of delicious foo.
Very nice couple runs this hotel. They were especially helpful to an english speaker who didn't know much german and explained how the nearby thermal bathes work and offered a jacket for my stay in case I got cold. There is also storage for bikes if you are on tour. The restaurant around the corner is also especially good.
Helpful staff and a good location with clean and well furnished rooms. Nothing to complain about.
The owner has something to teach all of the hotel proprietaires I have ever met about hospitality. He went out of his way to ensure that I had everything I needed and took advantage of his beloved region (which is beautiful). I liked the sort of honor system for drinks outside of hotel hours and his efforts to find what I like to eat. A little far from Bonn for business travel but worth the stay to get out of city hustle and bustle.
The owner and his wife were lovely. Informative about area, kind and happy to please. Would prefer to have new individual liquid soaps etc not large bottles that have been in use.
Guy from bar should talk a little less loud and stop selling wine during breakfast
The staff were very friendly, the room clean and the breakfast generous. The hotel was situated just 200 yards from the centre of town but in a quiet location. In terms of decoration, the combination of old and modern didn't quite work.
the aparthotel has a fine bathroom. It is clean and much space. No
