Cleanliness in the room was good Traffic noise at night. Unmanned reception so poor security. Mediocre breakfast and insufficient quantities. No information about hotel facilities. Booking site said swimming pool and restaurant - neither available.
It was good enough, nothing fancy, but good location in a very beautiful town
Friendly stuff, free parking, free wlan, clean room Coudn't close the window (broken), small and old room
The location was good, very close to the city center of Sion. The entire hotel smelled like old smoke (the smoking law in Switzerland is not up to EU standards) and the rooms had very outdated technology. True to the price/performance ratio throughout the entire country, this hotel was not worth the money it charged and was rather disappointing.
Staff with multiple language skills.
The rooms were clean comfortable and big enough. The situation of the hotel was convenient. Plenty.
the hotel is too noisy it is opposite a bar which is very loud until 3 pm in the morning so not a place to stay if you want to sleep. It is not cheap either and for a sleepless night you would be better off in a car!
Staff were wonderful. The room was large, comfortable and well kept. The view was excellent. The location is right in the middle of Sion and about a five minute walk from the station. I paid 90 CHF per night, it was well worth the money.
Good location, nice and clean room, and breakfast included.
On arrival the receptionist was friendly and spoke English. The room was clean. There bathroom was fitted for sufficient towels, paper, and soap for our one- night stay. The tv included two bbc channels. Great complimentary breakfast -- real coffee made in single cups. The room was not large. The shower was designed merely to vex anyone attempting to use it -- tiny and barely functional. The room was a bit too warm due to insufficient ventilation opportunities. The check-out receptionist was loathe to curtail her personal phone call to dnable us to pay and leave. We did not eat at the restaurant, as we had a rigid music schedule to follow, but Manor restaurant directly across the street was incredibly convenient. Overall, mediocre value for the money, but the other hotels in Sion are very expensive.
Well situated, right in the centre of Sion and very near train station. Nice bathroom. Friendly staff. Very expensive for room and services offered. Nothing at all special about room: no view, no effort at decoration. "Double bed" actually divided in two by a metal bar. Insipid breakfast.
Central location busy town too central
Right in the middle of town so convenient for shops, bars and restaurants. When next in the area we'll definitely be staying here again. Good value for money compared to others in the area. Breakfast was a little on the mean side.
Good location. Small room and too small bathroom. The rate is expensive for the room. Besides, no one at the reception when I arrived at 15:00. I had to call the number written on the door to check in. The hotel staff on the phone told me my room number. He had left the key in the room.
The hotel was clean, convenient and a goo valu for the money. Breakfast is a bit pricey at 15.00 per person
location relative to ski resorts only one towel for two people in the room
The hotel is very clean, very good value for money, good location, big and free car park, free internet (good at the first floor). There are only one chair in the rooms, not good when you are in a couple having to access the internet.
Basic hotel, close to Sion, easily accessible by car. For budget minded travellers. Lack of air conditioning.
the easy acces It is better if all rooms were nonsmoking
went to watch golf at crans nice half hour drive away nice breakfast
The hotel is very comfortable with good restaurant/bar and play area. The cot provided was very good and the staff very helpful and proffessional.
A decent place to stay after a long drive and was able to drink and dine outside on what was a very hot day. Thought that the restuarant meal prices were a bit expensive 16 chf for an omlette.
a normal price even if it was New Year's Eve.The bathroom is new with a big shower; nice! the room was a bit smelly but just need to open the window and it's fine.no fridge. breakfast too expensive 15-/pers.
quiet, handy for Arolla, close to motorway, warm and dry after a days ice climbing
nice, small hotel, friendly staff
The hotel/B&B was in a small town near Sion. A little challenging to find at first but we did it at 0100 without a GPS so it can be done. The interior has been completely re-done in a modern style which is a nice contrast to the "farm house" look on the outside. They have added on a jaccuzi outside below a sun deck in what appears to be part of a barn. Very nice at the end of the day of hiking, biking etc. to come back grab a bottle of wine (we brought with us) and sit in the jacuzzi overlooking the alps and the small cities below. What a view!!! The breakfast buffet was bread and fruit basically. 2 of the 3 days there was a very small portion of meat and cheese, and a little cereal. What was there was good, but would have liked a little more than just bread.
very quietely located in village on the slopes of the mountain; overlooking the local vineyards of Saviese; very friendly staff; intimate rooms
combination of tradition and modernity- well done informations only in French language
The owner was so friendly and full of useful hiking tips. Maybe there could have been more variety at breakfast.
Friendly personal service, great old house with nicely designed rooms, close enough to Sion
Superb mountain views, warmth of welcome. Tasteful conversion of interesting old house to incorporate stylish modern conveniences . Good simple but adequate and enjoyable breakfast. Parking was very challenging although owners were happy to help.Would like to have been able to check in earlier- say 15.00 rather than 17.30
room confortables.like photos.proprietary sympatic and very prestable breakfast very poor
Small and friendly with great valley views and exactly the "Swiss village" atmosphere we wanted
This hotel should get maximum points for being able to ruin a perfect chance to impress by offering such a low staffing level which of course results in client dissatifaction. We were told to go to another hotel for a drink as they maintained that the restaurant bar was reserved for clients that were dining. We had booked half board so why could we not have a drink and eat later!!!!! This hotel was a real dissapointment.
Scenary when cloud lifts is fantastic and the comfort of the room. We had to go to another hotel for our food as there was a problem at the hotel when we stayed. We could not find out what the problem was as the desk person did not speak english.
Location, Parking, Staff, Food TV in room is not fantastic - selection of channels not meant for English travellers. Rather expensive for such basic rooms. There is also no gym.
Set in a village amongst vineyards, yet with easy access to the highway, Hotel des Vignes is a great place from which to explore the beatiful Valais region. The hotel is elegant, with charming reception rooms, while our room was functional, comfortable and extremely clean.. The staff made us feel very welcome, and the food and service in the restaurant were excellent. A lovely surprize.
Excellent evening meal.
We liked just about everything. The beds were the most comfortable we'd ever slept in, the food was excellent, and the owner/operator Onno and his wife bring a new meaning to perpetual motion; I don't think they ever sleep? Service was first-class, and apparently "Anything is possible here", which was the answer to any requests that we made.
As a family of 5 its always difficult to get good standard accomodation for the family at a great price in a great location. Hotel Les Etagnes offers all that - the family room was very comfortable and very clean with plenty of room. The bathroom and fitout are all new. The Breakfast was great ( for European style) and they have a good restuarant and atmosphere at nighttime. A Special mention for our host who was great and even drove us around town. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for Family stays.
Friendly and very serviceminded staff! Excellent location just next to the Telecabin. Great food! The hotel is definitely a notch above all the other hotels in Nendaz, feels a lot more modern and tasteful!
We liked it very much. Especially that the room was very clean and fresh and the beds were extremely comfortable. Also very good location if you are spending time or skiing in Nendaz. Breakfast was good and service friendly, helpful and genuine! Thank you. No. The hotel met our expectations.
Very warm, dynamic and kind welcome. This hotel is the ideal place to stay with you family, especially young children when in Nendaz. This is brand new renovated and the friendly athmosphere is just the cherry on the cake of a nice location and good pricing. Maybe, the matresses a bit too soft ... but not a real issue.
We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant. The staff was helpful in offering details about local activities/skiing. Very good value for the money over the holiday. The actual room was very basic. Didn't have a dryer or outlet in the bathroom. There was a cat that entered our room several times--we r very allergic to cats.
very beautiful hotel and pleasant stuff, perfect location for skiing. It was VERY difficult to find hotel by specified gps coordinates! please check it It was VERY difficult to find hotel by specified gps coordinates! please check it
I am afraid everything was coloured by the appaling nature of the rooms The rooms were so appalingly basic and small that I have no idea how this hotel acheives the 3* it claims. Terrible value for money.
Perfectly adequate for a three star hotel. very friendly and helpful hotel owners/staff Little things like shower holder not properly fixed to the wall and minor repairs needed
Staff were very helpful. Great location and views. The restaurant meals were very good, as were the breakfasts.
Fantastic, New owners, who have great plans, we went in July 2010 for one night on a tour through (ish) rooms perfect/clean , food excellent. If you are planning a skiing trip Jan/Feb 2011 GO None
A nice relaxing weekend break away. We had a lovely warm bright room. The staff were really friendly and nice. We loved having a balcony and big bath and tea and coffee facilities in the room... it was also great being close to everything.
Lack of quality in hotel rooms
The Hotel Mont Fort is clasified as a 3 star Hotel, but in reality it is a one star or two star hotel at best, but not a three star hotel. The hotel forgot the baby crib and it was missing the wooden support for the mattress and was placed beside an unstable mirror hanging on the wall which is unsafe.
To be honest nothing. Thankfully we were skiing and did not spend too much time in the hotel. Our rooms were shabby and below standard of any 3 star hotel.
