Check out at 10.30am seemed a little early!
Good value for money. Nice homely atmosphere Shower not very special
My room was clean, had plenty of available storage, very comfortable beds, easy to check in even though the owners were not at home, friendly & relaxed atmosphere, good welcome folder with plenty of local information, books & DVD's provided in the room and a wider selection available in the main building, umbrellas were provided in case of bad weather and a torch was situated at the security entrance. The choice available for breakfast was extensive. A great experience and I would recommend this hotel to everyone! The one slight negative is that the hotel is situated on a busy road so the amount of traffic was rather noisy, however the double glazing did reduce this drastically.
Very good guest house excellent value for money
Very friendly owners. Very clean room with all facilities. Fast free wifi which is a great benefit. Highly recommend the evening meals - good quality home cooked food. Everything was great
Clean and friendly Lovely breakfast Comfortable bed In need of re-furb a little old fashioned In need of update Basic bar facility Cramped parking
Good value, convenient location, quiet, comfortable. Rather dim lighting in bathroom.
It was very clean, nice place and lovely friendly people. Good location, parking and wi-fi. Owner was very nice. Would stay again and recommend. Only one thing but even that isnt a complaint...Decor needs updating, feel like I went back to my childhood but it was still lovely and not at all shabby. Your gran would love it but you will too. puts a smile on your face for how 70s it is.
staff very friendly and helpful. felt very much at home. food excellent.
I stayed at Norwood after seeing it listed on the Booking.com website. I was travelling on business and was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail to be found at Norwood. The rooms were immaculate and furnished to a very high standard. Plenty of coffee/tea in the rooms which isn't often seen nowadays. The staff were more than helpful and made my stay a pleasure. Breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely recommend staying here in the future.
it was possibley the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in lots of small touches that set it above the average nothing at all
A very pleasant b&b with very friendly staff. Sadly no breakfast was available. DVDs and player free use in the room. Small car park
Breakfast was lovely and the bed was very comfy Room was a bit cramped and very hot The shower was useless, decoration needs updating and stained ceiling tiles need replacing
Super attention to detail with many extras and touches normally found in only the most luxurious and expensive hotels. Very clean, homely and friendly at the same time. Breakfast fantastic quality and choice with freshly cut fruit salad. If being really fussy, only tiny downside was slight water hammer from cysterne in en suite for a short while afer use!
Furnishings of high quality, beds comfortable, breakfast fine. Overall obvious effort made to ensure a pleasant experience for guests. Nothing to fault
It's clean. Beware this hotel does not do evening meals & you are not allowed to take food into the hotel so the only choice you have is to eat out or eat food in your car...the car park is small & found the staff short of a personality & very unaccommodating. I would not class this as a hotel, this is merely a b&b at hotel prices!
Nothing. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The manager is the rudest person I have ever met.
Our anniversary was celebrated with balloons on our door with a sign and balloons in our room.it was much appreciated. I was impressed by the style and quality of the interior design, comfort and soft furnishings. None
Aladin's cave - full of surprises but every last need considered. Lots of fun and friendly warm atmosphere. Breakfast excellent. couldn't find it (not very onbvious). lack of places to eat around the guest house.
Good location and a beautiful building. We had a ground floor room for the first night, which we found rather dark, although a pleasant room. We were easily moved to a first floor room with super views of Pendle Hill. A lovely large room. The restaurant was most attractive, with a reasonably priced menu. Good food and friendly helpful staff.
The room was lovely with lots of space and beautiful furniture ~ the bar and dining room have the most fantastic ceilings ~ all in all it was a lovely place to stay ~ and we would recommend it to anyone. Long wait for our breakfast to be cooked on the first morning.
It was quiet and had the feel of a small guest house, but with far more facilities. A pleasant environment, i liked the secluded feel to the place. Compared with many other places i thought it was very fair value, in spite of some cheap and nasty room fitments. Breakfast was very good, and promptly served even when the place was very busy. The shower in the ensuite bathroom was dire, well out of date and the shower door was broken and would not close properly. Overall, they seemed to use cheap and easily breakable fitments in the room.
roooms are all indivualy decorated on this occasion we had 4 poster bed in room n/a
Nice area. Good parking. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. n/a
Amazing location and fantastci Victorian features Slightly dated decor although clean and tidy
Staff freindly and welcomeing, room clean and well equiped, food excellant. None
Food very good, staff excellent, friendly Room rather cold, television not in good position.
Nice & peacefull. The room was cold so requested an additional heater. Although it was summer, Hotels should ensure that the rooms are warm when you arrive.
To be honest it served the freshest breakfast I have ever had and I have travelled a lot over the years. Not very extensive in choice but if you like English breakfast it could not have been better.
Staff excellent and very friendly. Free WiFi. Decent TV and freeview. All offered for a good price. Room was very cold even with the radiator on full all the time. The windows are old floor to ceiling single pane ones and therefore impossible to try and keep the room warm. No radiator in the en suite meant this was even colder.
The staff were very friendly and polite. The food was excellent and the hotel itself was of a good standard. Our room number 25, the shower screen was stuck because of the rubber seal being faulty. The bar prices were very pricey.
The Sparth House Hotel had a very cosy, welcoming feel to it. The breakfast room was intimate and well presented.
friendlyness of staff no
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed - lots of storage space.
Clean Small room, but we weren't there long enough for it to matter.
High level of customer care immediately evident at check in, and continued throughout my stay. Clean well appointed rooms and public areas of the hotel.
friendly staff friendly, helpful staff. We had a familiy room ok for one night , however it was too small if we had intended staying longer. would definately go for bigger room next time.
The wood panelled dining room and the log fires in the lounge. Only having a velux window in the bedrooms.
Staff were very helpful and couteous NA
the hot toddies and the lovely open fire. The breakfast and the service were top class. The friendly and helpful staff.
Its location was just what I wanted, being in the middle of the village and it offered car parking. The pub is old fashioned and had some wonderful features, it also had a nice bar with real ales which is something that I would look for in similar establishments. The room was available on our arrival which was also a bonus as we did arrive early. The food was nice and we ate in a nice dinning room away from the other side of the pub, it was warm, private, quiet also an added bonus. Otherwise there was the bar area which had a nice fire but was a bit busy if you wanted a quiet meal. The food itself was good, served well and hot, overall enjoyable and good value meal. The breakfast was also good, not over the top but ample for the type of acc It was a noisy hotel, when someone else showered the noise from the extractor or pump was really loud and would have woken anyone up; it was almost like a compressor. The noise from the bar at night was also quite loud, with some bad language (not good for young children) which could be heard in the early hours of the morning in the courtyard. I do realise that this is a country pub so its kind of to be expected in a way as the pub is in the centre of a village and its used well be the locals who keep it open. I did mention the noise from the showers and the courtyard to the manager who did agree with me about the noise, saying that he had also struggled to sleep a little but did say that he had a meeting with a senior executive.
It peaceful, quite and very friendly staff. The price and service where very good nit to mention very good room with everything you need. Nothing to complain.
Lovely gardens and beautifully peaceful & friendly staff Coded door entry to lodge was difficult to use - in hte dark and cold
Good beds, good bathroom, decor good out, look great lots of space No lift to first floor was a slight problem
Very efficient and pleasant staff , excellent cooked breakfast.
Very Good. Setting very pleasant. Nothing
peace and quiet and good food
Clean and very nice views a really nice hotel Nothing
Comfortable bed Room too cold, heating not up to it. Crockery and kettle dirty
very relaxing friendly comfortable lovely food location just the place to get away from it all
Peaceful location The room was cold as heating did not come on until 6pm, had to ask for a heater, a bit poor in November
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the location was perfect for our Adventure Sports Event. We were surprised by the fantastic quality of food which was all freshly made and the bar area was comfy with quality plasma's and good beers We had to leave early and missed the Full English breakfast!!
Food in restaurant very very over salted
We checked in late but there was little info on how to do this, ended up driving round and round and eventually the security guard after driving past for the third time asked who we were!
Excellent value for money, and very helpful staff.
Very good location, in a peacefull rural setting. Nice resturant, friendly staff and a good sized comfortable room. Decor in the rooms was slightly depressing and we had to wait 30+ mins to get breakfast.
The friendliness of the staff
My room was spacious, clean with everything you could need. The staff (lady) who served breakfast was brilliant. Made sure we had everything we needed. Food was good Didnt really like having to walk from the hotel to the breakfast
Our stay was very pleasant, room comfortable, The Staff very helpful and kind., they went out of their way to give us help when needed.
Nice and comfortable room Hotel bit difficult to find in the dark
Location, cleanliness, warm welcoming staff.
very small and cramped room, restaurant staff were inexperienced
Food was nice Very dated decor and terrible shower, no water pressure and no hot water for an evening shower.
The hotel is a grand old bulding in a lovely location. Staff work hard to please. The Falcon is tired and needs a facelift. Its staff also seem tired! and work hard to provide a decent service but seem to be struggling. Restaurant service was poor; dinner cuisine was average. our experience was lifted by being allocated a handsome and spacious four-poster bedroom at regular rate which made our stay enjoyable above all!
food fantastic, staff brilliant room neds freshening up, a l;ittle drab, but didnt spoil our stay
The location, of course, and the genuinely helpful staff
Food was not enjoyable and the staff on duty for the evening meal were grumpy. Too many supplement prices on the menu.
The hotels location is very good and we particularly enjoyed the food which was excellent. Unfortunately the room was only average even though there were few other guests at the time of our stay. The room was dissapointing and insufficiently heated at a vey cold time. Room comfort is essential for the time of year.
good size room good breakfast staff and breakfast had a very cold shower
The whole of our stay was excellent. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome. The meals and accomodation were first class. We look forward to staying again.
The grounds were good for our dog. The staff were friendly and kind. The food was good. The room had everything we expected. The hotel was close to our family. Beautiful view and setting for the hotel. The position of our room was unfortunate. We are both nearly seventy with a dog. Our bedroom was situated at, almost, the farthest point from the entrance. To take the dog out for his early and late walk was difficult. The long walk along an empty corridor was hard. Lovely hotel just not for the elderly. Young people young couples or business men would like it.
The hotel was an unexpected surprise. The room was very comfortable with excellent views and facilities. The restaurant food and service were 1st class. I will certainly return Nothing
Main hotel was full of character and had a lovely atmosphere. Very quiet location. Well cooked food. Very friendly helpful staff My room was in an annex, had to doge the rain to get to room and the window over looked an electricity pylon
The staff were excellent. Room was fantastic. Will be staying here again when in the area. They do accept AMEX. Breakfast service was a little slow and hap hazard.
Really comfortable beds and a beautiful view of the Trough of Bowland from our window. There is an opportunity to use a hide in the grounds to observe wildlife. Staff were helpful and friendly, the bar was cosy with a real fire and a whisky menu! Breakfast was well cooked with a good variety of hot and cold items. Used the small swimming pool in the leisure centre.
Loved the whole experince, the hotel had a lovely atmosphere, we felt very comfortable and relaxed. The food was outstanding, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, the room was very comfortable(the ceiling light could do with a feather duster to get rid of the cobwebs!) the pool was warm and the steam room and sauna were lovely, wished we had been able to stay longer, we will definately go back The one and only thing which could have been better were that the cobwebs on the ceiling light could have been removed!
First impresions good. Cleanliness Attention from staff. Peacefull.Comfort. Facillities. None
Food and service in the restaurant in the evening was very poor with cold food and when returned raw chips and no apology.
Nothing Our booking was totally wrong on arrival despite the fact that we had received a correct confirmation of booking and we had also had an email from the manager regarding toe booking. We booked family room as I was travelling with a teenager but was put in a double room and we had to share a bed which was totally unacceptable. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful, bordering on being rude, and continually contradicted herself (basically was lying all the time). She said that the card machine was not working but managed to process my payment immediately but when I calmed on their 'good night sleep guarantee' it took two weeks and four phone calls to hotel before they bothered to process the refund.
Excelenent Hotel and room Very poor booking with the internet provider as when arriving at the hotel they had no record of the booking, the reference given to me via the internet meant nothing to the hotel,I skope to the provider who were unable to provide your hotel with satisfactory detail of my booking..Fortunately your staff at the hotel were able to accommodate me late on a Friday night.
Superb staff, friendly and informed. Breakfast was brilliant. a really relaxing and efficient hotel that's obviously very well run and the staff are very happy to work for Premier Inns. Not a one!
Best place to stay in Burnley. Have previously stayed at Holiday Inn Express Burnley in Jan 2009. Can not fault the place
Comfortable bed, clean room, fairly quiet. Bed sitting area spacious. No drawers or proper wardrobe. No hanging space for 2 sets of towels. Breakfast poor. Staff did not adhere to environmental standards regarding re-using our towels.
the staff were pleasant, and the room was clean & comfortable breakfast was more than we expected
Although the complimentary breakfast was good, the refusal to top up two of the hot items was just odd. There was still an hour of breakfast, about 20 people in the dining room and 5 individual people asked and the staff refused to bring out more of two items which have run but brought out more of the other times. Is there a one tin of beans limit??
Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal over priced and not particularly good. Would eat elsewhere is stayed again.
Always stay here when we come to visit family in Nelson/Burnley. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Cleanliness is top notch. Breakfast is great - lots of choice. Would def recommend and always return!! Bed was too soft this time not usually though. Also had a dodgy room door that wouldnt automatically close - we had to make sure it was pulled tight. No big deal in the scheme of things!!
Clean, modern, good facilities, excellent staff, good food. Evening meal is a little expensive.
The Hotel was very clean and we received a warm welcolme on arrival and checked in with the minimum of fuss to a clean, comfortable and well laid out room. We also enjoyed the food. There were none
Comfortable and functional. Staff were very good Coffee machine not working in main area.
Very friendly and helpful staff Clean Good parking Excellent room Comfy bed Good in room facilities Safe - a night staff protected details of my room number when I had a problem of a key (there was another guest in reception) which I appreciated Excellent value for money None
The standard of the food ,especially at thr Golden Wedding celebration, was excellent. Breakfast was very good and served by staff who were willing and able. The food at breakfast could have been hotter although I know how difficult it is to keep things hot in a Baine Marie without it drying out.
Food was good
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food.
Price was brilliant. Room was spacious, bathroom was clean. very nice and quiet place to stay. Breakfast was good. Lovely area. In general a really good place. Will stop again next time i visit Lancaster University.
Golf course looks nice. Breakfast was very good Room was very disappointing. Toilet seat was broken, hot water tap on sink didn't work. Plus the restaurant wasn't open for some reason. Had to get a small snack in the bar. Could have got a lot better for a lot less £'s.
Clean, comfortable, polite staff None
Excellent location, views, well maintained gardens. Rooms quite spacious. Restaurant and bar areas pleasant. Plenty of tv channels. Good breakfast, dinner average. Staff friendly but appeared to be mostly untrained students. Warm white wine poured out with dinner, for example. Telephone not working in room and no aircon.
i really enjoyed stayingat this hotel i really enjoyed it, i will be back in the very near future. thank you
I was very please with the overall experience of staying in this hotel. I had requested a nice quite room and was given one at the end of the corridor which had a firm bed. This was a bonus as my husband suffers from a weak back and as some hotel beds are so soft this was great. Nothing to report
