Pros: Very close to the ferry and near the places to eat
Cons: Noisy if on the bottom floor, can hear every footstep in the mornings.
Pros: The location of our room facing the water was an awesome view! The room was clean with every comfort and above average bed, linens, kitchen facilities and just a quality build. Attention to detail everywhere. The flowers surrounding were beautiful!
Cons: All exceeded expectation.
Pros: Inn location, staff, room location, fab views. Everyone very friendly and helpful
Cons: Wifi terrible. Food on Sundays
Pros: Sea view from the veranda; cosy and large rooms; tidy and good room service; perfect location on the island
Cons: The accomodation is perfect but we would have appreciated Information that Mondays most of the Restaurants, the Shops and the cultural Center is closed
Pros: The friendliness from Teri-Lynn and her staff was outstanding, we felt very much at home.
Pros: This is a wonderful little hotel, right over the water in Alert Bay. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with everything you could possibly want. It’s clear that real effort has been put in to make it homely and attractive.
Cons: Nothing. This was a great stay and I’d like to be back soon!
Pros: Conveniently located near the ferry terminal.
Pros: Location is amazing. Alert bay is super cute and really beautiful, with very friendly people to boot! The whale watching from Prince of Wales (out of Telegraph cove) was unbelievably good (we saw 3 humpbacks and 30+ Orcas). The U'Mista cultural centre is also well worth a visit. We'll be back!
Pros: This cute little hotel was perfect. It was quaint, comfortable, and you could hear the water splashing beneath the hotel piers as you fell asleep. The owner was very welcoming and kind. Everyone on the island was super nice!
Pros: Stunning view over the water. Not all rooms have this outlook.

A stay at Dalewood Inn places you in the heart of Port McNeill, steps from Port McNeill Visitor Centre and 3 minutes by foot from Mackay Whale Watching. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It's old but had fresh paint. It's clean but like I said it's old just like everything in McNeill. Restaurant is good. Staff are friendly. Beds are comfy.
Cons: It's old
Pros: Very clean rooms, super comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Location is perfect.
Cons: WIFI is a bit slow here and there. Hooks at the door or entrance area would be nice. Also a shelve or some additional storage space would be helpful.
Pros: The motel has been recently remodeled and everything is new and very clean. Our room was quiet and had a view of the water. There are no decorations in the rooms, making it a little spartan nor is there any place to hang clothes but those seem like minor details.
Pros: Rooms was beautifully renovated . tastefully . The hooks had to be reordered so there was none , but the second day hooks appeared in the bathroom. Staff very nice and friendly
Cons: A small coffee table would be good . We did borrow one from reception. Also a small shelf under the mirror , above the sink would be nice. A second small bedside table or shelf could add to the comfort for 2 in the bed.
Pros: Clean and fresh looking room.
Cons: Walls are paper thin. Could follow the conversation in the room nextdoor (unfortunately all night). Room was on the small side.
Pros: This place was easy to find which was nice I do believe I was the only person at the hotel at the time as my car was the only one in the carpark. I liked that my room had a view and that the heating worked well. The sunset was pleasant out of the window.
Cons: The bed for me was a little to firm and I found it difficult to navigate the TV system they had there.
Pros: The location was absolutely fantastic and the staff very helpful. I found the room extremely clean and comfortable - I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again next time I'm in Port McNeill.
Cons: There's not much that the Dalewood could improve on!
Pros: The manager was very friendly and accommodating. Felt safe as a solo woman traveller. Location was great. Easy walk to small marina, eateries and Alert Bay ferry. Small little table and decent view across the parking lot to the water.
Cons: Room was dated, but comfortable enough with basic amenities. Barely lukewarm water for shower. No heat or plug in bathroom. My room was over the liquor store, so it was noisy until 11pm - especially so when you want fresh air and windows open in a stuffy room. After 11, it was quiet.
Pros: Convenient place, and clean.
Cons: Soulless, clinical, and clean. You felt like you’re in the twilight zone, or the ward of a lunatic asylum. Perfectly suitable to sleep in, but it does make you wonder if there are any life out there...

Cons: nothing particular
Pros: Very central, good discounts on food and drink for guests. Both restaurant and hotel onsite, quiet.
Pros: I liked that, even though we booked the room pretty late, the late night staff were still very welcoming and friendly.
Cons: I didn’t like that my chocolate bar got stuck in the vending machine, but at least someone else will be very lucky if they get it.
Pros: Breakfast was not appealing. The staff was very friendly and helpful
Cons: The furniture was old and worn. The concrete block hallways looked like the inside of a jail house
Pros: The staff were so lovely and helpful. The room was basic but had everything you needed for a comfortable stay
Cons: The cable TV was a bit temperamental but then again I wasn’t there for TV
Pros: I was pleased with our one night stay.

Pros: The atmosphere, the owner is very friendly, the place
Pros: The location is fantastic... right on the ocean. The room was clean but very small... my husband and I bumping into each other.
Cons: The internet only worked briefly one night. Internet really only worked in the pub... at another part of the facility.
