Pros: Everything outstanding!
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was original and tasty. This B&B was in great shape and very well appointed.
Cons: Property and stay exceeded expectations in all areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large bright bedroom had several sitting options and great bathroom. Location was perfect for walking into downtown. Friendly proprietors served generous breakfast.
Cons: One afternoon guest smoked a cigar on front patio (I'd prefer entirely smoke free property.) We aren't B&B "types" so all the Victorian tchotchkes make the space a bit visually cluttered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a beautiful home. Jeff is a wonderful host. Not only was breakfast delicious, but there were snacks in the evening, a nightcap before we turned in, and tea service in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jeffrey was a gracious host. He made breakfast a treat. The eggs were gourmet and every little touch added to the experience.
Cons: I can't think of a thing that could improve.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bonnie and Jeff were great hosts. Delightful accommodations. Hope to come back soon.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: it was lovely sharing the breakfast table with a couple who were very interesting to talk to, the breakfast was very leisurely with a lot of thought put into it which was great
Cons: The weather - but that wasn't anyone's fault at the hotel! Definitely a hotel for adults as very calm and quiet - for us this wasn't a bad thing as we had no children with us

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cool hotel. Rich with history and character
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel. This hotel is perfectly located in the historic part of Staunton and affords easy walks to many points of interest including stores/restaurants. The hotel itself is impressive and spotlessly maintained, the rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and luxurious linen but mostly it's the kindness of the staff that will keep us coming back.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing and the beds are super comfortable. The restaurant and bar was delicious.
Cons: Paying an additional fee for parking is annoying. Also, the jets weren't working on the hot tub during my stay, which was sad, but not a deal-breaker.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything! The Staff is exceptional, very professional and accommodating. From the Desk Staff, Maintenance, Housekeeping and waiters, everyone spoke and we were always greeted with friendly smile.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient and friendly
Cons: The beds are very tall and difficult for a short person.
6.3 Good
Cons: The rooms were entirely over priced, and the staff behind the front desk for check in wasn't very friendly. I visited the location for a work conference that had free parking in the garage, but got charged an additional $7.50 for parking. I'll NEVER stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and decor.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice bright fresh decor, clean, location is great for downtown tourist and restaurants!
Cons: Only complaint is the comforter on the bed was old and the filler was flat and lumpy! When I held it up you could see the lumps of filler and where the filler should be! Needs to be replaced!!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly. Beautifully decorated lobby. Lobby bar convenient and attractive with a fireplace. Breakfast buffet very good with delicious pastries and fresh fruit as well as scrambled eggs and waffles. Perfect location to walk to shops and restaurants.

The Blackburn Inn - Staunton - Building
5
9.1 Excellent (157 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Blackburn Inn in Staunton, you'll be in the historical district, within a 15-minute walk of The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Mary Baldwin College. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a historical landmark. The rooms are tastefully remodeled. The location is 3 blocks from downtown. Beautiful old building. Remodel still in the works. I’m a doctor with an interest in medical history. I could spot a lot of the remnants and appreciate how far medicine has come along. That said, staying here was a very pleasant surprise. Be sure to visit the cupola if you stay here. The artwork is worth considering if you collect art.
Cons: I was confused with the luggage drop off area. There is a side entrance where you can back the car up. The place has some original treads on the custom fitted staircases- watch your step.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, friendly staff. Hotel in old mansion but modern interior. Glass of champagne when arrived. Nice English breakfast with delicious pastries. About 10 minute walk to town.
Cons: Room was small and no closet. High ceilings so not very soundproof while you were in the room. Thought it was a little pricey for what you get.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No real gift shop
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic building that was thoroughly remodeled and modern inside. Breakfast was nice, nothing spectacular but a decent cold selection. Building made for some great photo opportunities.
Cons: Basic queen room was very small but workable for our overnight stay. Ground floor room had a view of the HVAC air conditioning units which was disappointing considering the beautiful grounds. You are definitely paying a premium for the historic setting as other local hotels had better breakfast, bigger rooms and more amenities for much less as we discovered on our way back staying in Staunton again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a a unique and gorgeous hotel.
Cons: Being an old building with wood floors the room above was a little noisy. Pillows were also oddly small.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is really unusual and unique. Perfect for romantic trip. Free parking
Cons: Half open wall to the restroom. Almost nothing left for the breakfast half an hour before it is done.
7.0 Good
Pros: Property
Cons: Cold floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the openness and light and wood floors. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Our room did not have anything to sit on besides a desk chair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Design of the hotel is gorgeous! The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The breakfast was simple but delicious. Beautiful setting and great location for exploring Staunton. Free parking and WI-FI.
Cons: Nothing that we dislike, even though it was a bit pricey for the dates we stayed in

9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great free breakfast selection--probably the best I've had at a standard hotel
Cons: Thin walls
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was adequate.
Cons: One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because it had a workout room. When I went to workout the night I arrived I noticed that the room would not open until 8 am the next morning. That was very disappointing. I am traveling and would like to be on the road by 8 - 8:30 in the morning. I like to get up early and get my workout in before leaving. That was not possible. They did offer that I could go across the street to a gym they had ties with, but that kind of defeated the purpose of staying at a hotel with a fitness room on site.

Pros: The staff was really friendly
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was ok but just ok. I don't think I'm back for this hotel. For the same price you can get something better. It's a great hotel for dogs
Cons: It's fair. You can get the same service and better comfort chipset in another hotels in the area. My room was clean , but had some wired spots on the carpet. Maybe some dog poo or pi. Don't smell bad but still the impression when I get in to the room. Thank God I only be there a few hours for sleep.

Cons: All the breakfast items were carbs. No egg option.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet room and very clean in a good location. Dog friendly and could stay on 2nd floor with no people walking over our heads. Decent price.
Cons: The room had "dog" odor...probably from a larger dog (our dog is small and does not have a doggie odor). However, reported to desk receptionist and she apologized and made a note of it. She suggested the filter needed cleaning- a maid should have noticed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast anywhere.
Cons: Everything was terrific  not one complaint.

6.0 Good
Cons: Smsll bathroom
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was clean, and the beds were good. Not noisy.
Cons: The HVAC unit blew air straight across the beds, not circulated up toward the ceiling. As a result we had to stay tightly covered to keep the breeze from disrupting our sleep. The bathroom was clean, but tiny. the desk clerk lost the credit card info, even though it was transmitted by the booking agent. When the clerk called me to ask me for the cc info AGAIN, she had to make me wait so she could go look for pencil & paper, rather than have it ready before the call. As I feared then, We were charged TWICE FOR THE STAY, still trying to work that out.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was nice and the staff was friendly.
Cons: I have never seen such a small bathroom in a hotel like this. When opening the door into the bathroom there was only 1 inch before the edge of the toilet. They had a long sink/vanity area but you couldn't access it because the toilet was in the way.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Slightly clean, even then I was mainly cleaning my room. Hotel staff really didn’t have to do much at all.
Cons: So my wife and I stayed there this past Thursday to Sunday, and had an awful experience here ! If you’re traveling from out of town or live here, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BLACK OROF MINORITY. Everyone else (except us) were greeted every time they entered the hotel. I even had a worker and residents of the hotel tell me that I couldn’t use the side door, and I have to go through the front. EVEN when they clearly saw that I had a hotel key and was staying at this hotel. I also had guests over because it was my sister’s wedding this weekend, and the receptionist kept stating how many people I had in my room as if it was an issue, even though I paid for a KING SUITE. I’ve worked in hotel where there are cameras so my family and I ALWAYS cover everywhere in the room possible that there could be cameras. In this instance, it was the smoke detector. Now I know it isn’t practical, however, I’ve seen numerous documentaries and news reports of people being filmed while in their room. This came up as an issue with this specific hotel and I was accused of smoking in the room. After I clarified with the hotel clerk that I do not smoke and shouldn’t be charged a 250$ smoking fee, I was SECRETLY charged a 200$ fee for a “broken table”. I wasn’t contacted directly when they first found this “broken table” and most importantly THE TABLE WAS NOT BROKEN WHEN WE CHECKED OUT. I have called headquarters and have also met with the general manager. He was very rude as well as the hotel clerk Sherry, when I came back to dispute the 200$ charge. It’s been two days and I still haven’t been refunded my money which I was supposed to receive yesterday. I will never stay here again, and I advise any person of minority not to stay at this hotel to avoid things like this. They will make you feel very uncomfortable , and judge you just by looking at you. And once confronted they won’t do anything about it, so you WILL have to go to the higher ups.

Cons: Remote location from Staunton, a town known for its walkability & small bus/trolley system. You need a car or $15 Uber each way. Hotel was outdated & worn. Public areas needed more cleaning. Outside windows purposefully large for great view were dirty.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the hotel was quiet at night. Well located close to Shenandoah Park.
Cons: The air conditioner in the room is not balanced properly. If it is on, it makes the room very hot, if the air conditioner is off, it gets very cold. Also, the breakfast would be better if it had oatmeal.

Pros: I really appreciate the parking space for veterans
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: No breakfast with the room. Pricey considering none. Check-in staff was disheveled. Do young people not know how to iron a shirt? Dining room was extremely slow getting meals out. Olde Staunton Inn - Staunton
12
9.7 Excellent (5 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gracious owner - lovely porch for sitting. Wonderful breakfast. Beautifully decorated - it deserves an article in "Southern Living"!
Cons: Lots of stairs - two small flights just to get to the entrance. Rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors - so would be difficult for anyone with walking problems. Otherwise great place in an interesting town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Beautiful house. Friendly staff. Breakfast was Great!
Cons: Parking is up a steep gravel hill. We arrived on a motorcycle and it was a little tricky. No problem for a car.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This place was quaint and an easy walk from there into town. The owner was very nice and breakfast was lovely. The bathroom was updated and I enjoyed having a robe provided since it was a shared bath.
Cons: The room showed 2 single beds online but was a double bed when checking in. The room was much colder than the rest of the house. The cheap wrapped soaps and plastic-wrapped plastic cups in the bathroom took away from the ambiance of the place.

Cons: Though a beautiful building, it is struggling with age. Our room was tiny, a couch was concerning with springs ready to come through fabric, and old, tight bathroom with makeshift shower. No space just to sit and read. Seems run down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I had never had Thai breakfast before staying at Ubon Thai. It was a tasty way to start the morning. I enjoyed my stay a great deal.
Cons: Check-in was at the resteraunt, which was a little confusing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ubon was an amazing hostess and her home is wonderfully eclectic and fun! This is not ordinary Bed & Breakfast. I felt as if I was staying in my home home with family who enjoyed each other's company! My room was wonderful with a very comfortable firm bed and nice clean bathroom. Tai cusine expertly cooked and amazingly delicious, hard to believe that this high level chef is located here! Only a 5 minute walk to downtown Staunton with all of the cool shops, eateries and drinkeries. I highly recommend this for your next staycation!
Cons: Nothing I would change.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Thai food, lots of character, friendly owner.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing really. Towels and sheets were clean.
Cons: Overpriced. Not taken care of. Needs renovation and general maintenance. Disappointed with facilities and WAY over priced!

Pros: The price was very good so it comes with low expectations, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location right off the interstate, perfect. Booked last minute highway motel when we couldnt drive anymore so it was just what we needed, no problem. All that, fine.
Cons: As soon as we arrived, I noticed the pillow on the bed was streaked with blood. Fresh blood. It was very disconcerting. There was a spare clean pillow so i pitched the bloody one, but it was very...uhhh. Yeah it took me a month to write this review and it still kinda icks me out.

Pros: The staff were amazing. Front desk was very helpful. The one lady making breakfast was working her tail off.
Cons: It was old, dated and dirty. Stuff running down the back of our bathroom door. The one elevator was soooo slow and the door handle going into our room was broken
