Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This B and B is slightly off the beaten track. It is a conversion of some outbuildings of the Old House. It is amazing when you go inside. Like Dr Who’s Tardis it is much bigger than it looks from outside. The host, Matt, is very kind and a real gentleman. He carried my bags and made me feel very welcome. My room was large and had a walk in wardrobe as well as an en-suite. I had a lovely view of a meadow from my room. The breakfast menu is very imaginative. I had salmon which was perfect. The service at breakfast was top notch. I think that all of the bedrooms are upstairs so please check this if it is likely to be an issue.
Cons: Having to leave. I could happily use this as a base for a longer holiday.

Pros: We liked the attention given to us by Derek, the owner, and his friendly staff, especially the young girl who served us dinner and drinks. We have stayed in 4 B&Bs during our recent holiday in Ireland. This one we will stay at again on our next trip to Ireland. The typical Irish pub within in the B&B building was full of things to photograph. It was a pub frequented by the locals and it has a cosy friendly atmosphere. The full Irish breakfast with variations was delicious plus the fresh fruit made a great start to the day. Our room and spacious bathroom were adequate for our needs. This B&B is ideally suited for a few nights stopover between Dublin and Ballina.

Pros: I had heard descriptions of the Silver Eel last year and wanted to stay there. The property is ideally located. The first floor room overlooked the beautiful Grange lake, and there was a large terrace accessible from the room. The room was perfect, and far in excess of expectations. The room and linen were impeccably clean. On a Friday night the bedroom was quiet at all times. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The food in the bar was quite simply excellent. Dinner was of true restaurant quality. Wifi was very good in the room. There is ample parking beside the property, some of it within sight of the room. Pros: My husband and I stayed at Gleeson's for two nights with our young adult daughters. The rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfasts were traditional Irish fare and food was fresh. Location was fabulous as it is located right in the middle of Roscommon town square within walking distance to shopping. We had a fabulous night at Regan's pub just two doors away. Everyone, including the proprietors, were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!

Pros: The amazingly wonderful caring & friendly staff, to the busy but relaxed atmosphere, the food, the comfort, the local books & newspapers to read, the decor, the location, I found the Gleesons experience ‘excellent’.
Cons: I arrived back late one evening hungry, I didn’t like the fact when Gleesons restaurant was shut it appeared most of the towns restaurants were too. I really need to think of using room service as I was busy I didn’t take the time to explore that but I’m sure it’s there. Ultimately my experience was excellent.

Pros: Fine breakfast. Set me up for the day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, a short drive from Carrick on Shannon center, close to retail area. The breakfast and service was very good, replacing toast and coffee with fresh hot. The rooms were clean and the shower was big and modern.
Cons: A larger dining area, or smaller tables. The duvets were too heavy for the weather which was warm. The TV was a little small but not that much of an issue.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm host and comfortable, clean beds. The pictures around the house were amazing and it was.nice to have a residents lounge.
Cons: Thin walls so you could hear every word of the conversation in the next room and the extractor fans from the bathroom. Also the road, which I know the owners can't do anything about but maybe some double glazing?
