Staff was super friendly and the location was neat. Our room was 80+ degrees though it was 45 degrees outside at night. We couldn't get any circulation in the room, as only one window opened with a screen. There weren't enough outlets to put the fan on in a convenient place. When we booked the room it said there was a pull out bed but there wasn't. The entire room was tiny and only had one full size mattress, not a queen as advertised. We left at 5:30 AM because we couldn't sleep through the heat.
Great breakfast buffet, nice view of mountain range from my room. no cleaning services, no staff on-site near my room (to request towels, etc), pool is in another building and locked, exercise room smells bad and in another building, room not as big as what I thought we'd be getting (according to pictures on website).
Well-located on the main drag. Beautiful public areas of hotel. Fabulous and extensive complimentary breakfast. Inadequate lighting in the room.
This is a great value for a 3 star hotel. Great restaurant and bar, cute place overall. It's not a luxury hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised at the great hotel at 3 stars.
Made to order breakfast was delicious. The fitness room was as large as the closet smells like paint and everything seemed a little outdated and run-down
The main lobby -- this hotel was built in 1930's. Really a charming example of Adobe architecture -- very nice restaurant and bar -- decoration wise. Breakfast included and was very good. The architecture and decoration in main building lobby/ restaurants is worth seeing.......people are very nice...but the need to up their game accommodation wise. Old part I would not recommend -- not solid feeling when you step on floors -- the newer building is not concrete between floors so you hear people walking on 2nd floor rooms if you are in 1st floor rooms. They gave us a room in old section, electricity went off, then phone..i asked to be moved to newer building -- which were suites and they moved us at no extra charge..then that room had no hot water and no water pressure. So we moved for a third time and that had hot water and no water pressure...next day pressure was better but room was noisey since a bunch of construction workers were staying on the 2nd floor. But the building is historic and worth seeing but I would not stay there again.
The room was small and the TV was an old tube TV.
The property itself was exquisite. The room, the pool and landscape was utterly gorgeous. Very inspirational. The staff was great as well, especially the valet. The food was very "meh". I would have expected much more from the mac and cheese than a bowl of Kraft mac and cheese. ....As a mom, its easy to spot. The beer was flat as well. The salad had a generic sugary raspberry dressing. Its a competitive food world out there, so I think Monte Sagrado could do much better. The music in the bar was really youthful and felt like a bad night club. Staff was fine though. Everything else in the resort completely made up for the experience though!
Rooms were clean and spacious. Complimentary continental breakfast was probably the best I've had. Staff was helpful and friendly- from the front desk to the kitchen to the guy who brought the crib to the room.
Clean, friendly, outside park like atmosphere, great hot tub
Friendliness of staff Liked it all
clean, friendly, motorcycle friendly, good breakfa
Cozy down comforters and beds, big soft towels, nice breakfast, hot tub, GREAT staff and location!
Great bang for your buck. Clean, friendly staff, charming, very reasonably priced. The pool is nothing to write home about, but served its purpose for a nice cool dip on a hot afternoon.
Quaint and charming! Really a gem for the price, decent location, lovely grounds, well maintained. A wonderful breakfast was served every morning with wide selection of items both hot and cold. Room was small but very charming, New Mexican decode old hacienda theme. All was good for us no complaints
Breakfast in the morning was delicious and service was great. The staff were all so sweet and willing to help and answer any questions. I would highly recommend staying here and will be back next time I'm in Taos.
Excellent room, great atmosphere, friendly staff, great location and a phenomenal fu$&ing breakfast! That we left to go back to work
Excellent restaurant, friendly staff. Worn out mattress. Noisy neighbors.
Friendly staff. Hotel is a bit more expensive than other hotels in the US of the same quality, but the "oldness" may be attractive to Americans (although unreal to Europeans). Very loud "live" music in lobby means that checking in can only be done by shouting very loud. It also makes the bar an unfit spot to spend them, but the restaurant is far enough away so that the music is reduced to "background".
The dining room, highly touted, was visited only once where my wife and I had a very nice lunch. The manager, in response to my complaint listed below, was apologetic, courteous and gave me a 10% discount. She said she would look into the matter. She suggested she had no idea what kind of lighting was in the room. I am skeptical of that but accepted her statement.. l. The light bulbs over the bed were 34 and 40 watts respectively, making it nearly impossible to read. Staff (after asking why I wanted stronger bulbs) stated that they had none. I had to go to a store to buy bulbs myself. 2. the room was plain with little charm to justify $200/day cost - all in all not better that low cost chain motels I have stayed in.
Location and the staff. Restuarant offered many unique dinner selections. The shower. Because it was an open shower water leaked on the bathroom floor. Musty smell in room.
Clean and quiet. Easy access. Comfortable bed. Reasonable price. Everything was good.
Showers, the variety of breakfast items, room, friendly staff. No shuttle to downtown.
Tub drain broken, bathroom needed updating.
The room and staff were of high quality. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. No complaint at all.
great value for the price, clean fooms rooms were dated
First off, I'm on a budget, so I typically look for the most affordable places to stay on snowboarding trips with my wife. Kachina gave me a good bang for my buck, especially with the complimentary breakfast that the staff serves personally every morning. Got the buscuits and gravy. Delicious and free! (Aside from the tip) Bedspread was torn and the TV was old and placed too far from the bed. The room could be a candidate for a renovation, but the price was right.
High value for money. Excellent location few blocks north of plaza. Helpful front desk . Trash not emptied daily on my most recent stay.
Room heat was not controllable and staff was indifferent to request to lower heat. No light bulb outside door - outside entrance. Three requests to replace missing light bulbs were ignored.
The location! It's so close to everything for such an affordable price The staff was very friendly and accommodating The free breakfast wasn't too bad. It's a restaurant style breakfast which is very nice The wifi didn't extend to the rooms so you had to go to the lobby to get access (although I don't know if this is a permanent problem or just temporary due to previous weather)
It was quiet. The cleaning crew didn't come bothering in the morning like a lot of other hotels. Beds were comfortable. The tub could've been cleaner. The door had a gap at the bottom that was concerning. The new employee was a bit abrupt. Requested an early check in and asked supervisor if I should be charged for early checkin. Thankfully she clarified there was no charge
microwave / refrig avail on request decent heating system temps went below zero room was still comfy, hottub avail, being on north side of taos decent access to taos ski valley without long drive thru town free coffee in lobby didn't get maid service 2 of 4 days , internet ok for email / fb but couldn't stream, assigned to adjoining room noise from adjoining room. inroom book and reservation said free breakfast they provided a coupon for 50% off a $9 breakfast asked for free breakfast they promised with my paid in full reservation they refused
Hot breakfast, clean room, comfortable bed
The value, location, and most of the staff. The rooms are outdated and pretty dirty. Wifi didn't work the whole time on any device. On the 3rd day we finally got our room cleaned and towels refreshed. One lady staff member that works in the evening was fairly unpleasant.
Continual background hum (electrical?) in the room all night. Not the heating system. Don't know cause
The linens were fresh and the room clean A dated hotel, but it was suitable for a quick overnight stay. Convenient walk to the center of town.
When I checked in a guest was complaining to the front desk that she wanted her money back because of bed bugs. At the same time there was a loud argument in the lobby between two staff and a manager that they were quitting because they couldnt work there for free. Later I found out several housekeeping maids had quit the previous day due to concerns about not being paid. The room itself was outdated and not very clean. Housekeeping did not even show up on two days...another day they only made the bed...I think the bethroom was only cleaned one day. The room was never vacuumed. The water pressure was poor and the hot water was only luke warm most of the time. I was there for 5 nights for a class.
Loved the fireplace, comfortable bed, beautiful and warm quilt, warmed floors, greeting from our hosts including Jake - Wonderful and delicious breakfast... you have to have the hot oats brulee and any of the baked goods... everything was delicious. We will be back for a longer stay.
I like their fireplace, it is unique and fun to set it up. They even have a peacock. The place is nicely decorated, and very romantic. It is a bit hard to find, especially after the dark, as their sign has no light. A quick tips is that their office is at the dead end of the road, in front of a gate.
