room was lovely and modern gym was extra charge which you didnt state! breakfast a little disappointing, no bacon just sausages
the room was lovely and clean and had everything we required. The breakfast was also very nice. Our only negatives were that there was nowhere for us to sit and eat breakfast as the room was full(too small for an almost 500 room hotel) so we had to come back later and the glasses for juice were warm as were the cereal bowls. Plus there was no milk in our rooms to go with the tea/coffee.
Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. In particular the two guys who were on night duty helped me out by printing work for me at 6ams
Clean modern hotel, friendly staff. Quite difficult to adjust temperature in room.
That I had somewhere to sleep. The bathroom was nice. Food was not served on the premises. They had to go go over to the nearby hotel so when food was delivered it was cold and soggy. Staff weren't that welcoming. The room needed to be updated.
the warm welcome by the reception staff, the really good and ample breakfast the batteries in the remote were dud
Comfortable room Very loud, huge TV screen at breakfast.
The way they looked after the guests and the food at the Olive Tree The service at the Olive Tree was not of the same high standard
The room. It was superb. Also I had a double room to myself at no extra cost. It would be a wonderful hotel if it had its own restaurant. There is, however, an Italian restaurant nearby which was all right.
The great location, I was attending a competition at the International centre. To wake up and be a 1 minute walk away from the centre was fantastic! The facilities were good too, the bathroom was really impressive! Being charged to use the spa and swimming pool, I thought it was all included in the price
Excellent value for money - much better than others in same price bracket. Clean, comfortable rooms; good service.
Staff most helpful and all children in our group enjoyed the swimming pool. About 5 minutes walk from the hotel there is a pub that does a really cheap carvery great for kidand adults. Could not fault it
swimming pool and leisure facilities
Pleasant staff, good value for money, good facilities Bathroom looking a bit worn
Location was good, ease of access good, and the staff were excellent and very helpfull. Pool was good especially for the kids. The free entry to Wonderland with your key card was excellent as well. For what we paid it was an excellent stay. My only minor gripes would be the small double beds we had and that the two children we had with us had to pay full price for breakfast, so we chose not to eat at the Grays but we would have if they had been at least half price! Something they should look at i think.
Food and facilities The rooms are not well insulated for noise from other rooms and corridor
very convenient and friendly and good food
Location, free parking and family friendly. Room could have been bigger as we had our daughter and it was a bit cramped with the extra bed in there. Food prices are a bit steep and we ordered a burger for our daughter and because it was a bit 'fancy' she wouldn't eat it.
Comfortable bed and room Poor food menu and shambolic service. The "curry night" made the reception smell like a school canteen.
Hotel close to Telford for shopping Room was very cold
The room was very comfortable and for the price a bargain Breakfast was a bit chaotic
Excellent Service, Staff remembered us from last time. No nothing.
Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent room. Unbeatable rate which included breakfast.
Spotlessly clean, fresh rooms. Well-designed with plugs near mirror ! - hair-straightening made easy ! Trendy, well-made furnishings. Lovely! Suberb leisure facilities. Poor wine list - included Asti Spumante!!! A nice Cava for a celebration would have been better.
All staff were friendly and helpful food was excellent
Room was a decent size, comfortable, fairly quiet and clean. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Parking was free. Have stayed here before on several occasions and would do so again. Didn't like adjoining door - lots of potential for noise from the adjoining room. This wasn't a problem on this occasion as I suspect it was unoccupied but it has been a nuisance in the past.
The hotel was very good and very quiet although busy. The amenities were excellent. Food was amazing. Car parking very good.
I was extremely pleased with the hotel, it obviously has high standards. I liked the leisure facilities and the friendly, helpful staff. ( My 11 year old son who was enjoying his birthday there really enjoyed himself)
rooms were spacious and very clean
Breakfast was lovely and staff friendly. Found out there was a shuttle bus to the v festival didnt know they did that wen booking. unfortunately had 2 b a group of 10. wud b a great bonus wen stayin if that was put on to encourage festival gowers to stay at hotel
V.good value for money and a nice homely atmosphere. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. I suspect the breakfast was cooked by a young inexperienced person. The egg I had was undercooked, the bacon was dried up and the tomatoe tastless. In contrast there was a good selection of flakes juices etc. Showers difficult to operate too.
It was great to arrive on a snowy evening and be able to eat in the hotel. There was nothing I did not like about the stay.
The only complaint I have is the very poor bed. Very uncomfortable
Well maintained, excellent restaurant, friendly staff Would be nice if the dogs were allowed in the bar if not the restaurant so we would have had them with us while we ate.
Overall everything was good most of the staff pleasent breakfast super Meal advertised 2 steak 1bottle of wine £20 advised to book in resturant but this price was not included in resturant prices. brought attention to way steak was under cooked but no comment was made
Friendly staff and excellent food
Friendly staff and excellent food, bar snack in the evening followed by a first class breakfast. Comfortable bed Creaking floorboards in the room
Good breaky, room was nice. Was all good, pleasant stay. Im sure the fire alarm going off that morning disturbed some peoples sleep but im just greatful for the ealy morning breaky wake up call, didnt wana miss out on that!!
The evening Meal. Not having the room booked, No wifi in the room we was in.
A very succesful stay - All the staff were so friendly and helpfull. Just felt so relaxed and easy. Had a realy great night in the bar with the regulars. It was supposed to be a one night business trip and it turned into a great mini-break. I shall be returning with my wife for a long weekend before christmas. I certainly wish I worked in Telford more often
Excellent hotel. Very friendly helpful staff, great service, lovely food and an extremly clean hotel. An all round great experience. Would recommend and will definately stay again. Plus lots of nice touches which make this hotel stand out from the crowd.
The food was excellent at the hotel. The hotel was lovely, however the walls are very thin but I would defnitely stay again.
The whole ambience
The decor throughout the hotel was outstanding. The breakfast was beautiful and I wish I could have had an opportunity to have dinner as the menu look wonderful n/a
Service was outstanding. The decor was very classy rather than the run of the mill standard decor.
Warm friendly welcome, and attention to detail. Fantastic meal and accomodation.
100% perfect. The owners should be so proud of what they have put together here. The staff are very friendly yet seamlessly professional. The Food was delicious, beautiful and comforting, not cranky or pompous, as I have found in most establishments of this type. My room was very clean, well presented and packed with tasty treats. I cant wait to stay again......... Thank You
We had an exceptionally warm welcome. The hotel was furnished to a very high standard; there were many personal touches that meant one felt less like you were staying in a hotel and more like staying with a very chic and sophisticated friend. The bar was comfortable and contempory. Despite being a little late for dinner we were given ample time to choose our food and then only when the first course was ready were we shown to our seat in the restaurant allowing time for a relaxed drink before dinner. The food was delightful; fresh simple and beautifully presented. The cooked breakfast was to die for! I haven't enjoyed a night away from the children so much in years!
Service and food excellant
It was a wonderful and i would reccommend to others.
Good Breakfast Hotel rather shabby. I.m sure it will be much nicer after the planned refit. Poor service in the restaurant in the evening
Nice room with a lovely shower, reasonable bar prices
Peace & quite every thing we asked for was delt with adequetly
staff were friendly, grounds were lovely, rooms were very good clean and tidy, and the view was lovely food was terrible and bar was shabby but it is being refurbished so hopefully it will be alot better when this is completed
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely and the food in the restaurant on the Saturday night was stunning. We ordered breakfast in bed and the quality and presentation of the food was very poor.
the spa and location no vegetarian menu
The assurance of having been there before. We weren't aware that the excellent rate resulted from the ongoing building work! We got repeatedly 'lost' walking the wrong way to the restuarant/bar etc. and the work outside our window started quite early and was fairly intrusive.
Friendly efficient staff. good facilities, well laid out.
all staff could speak english therefore could answer questions relating to our queries sunday night you had a large group of men in restuarant cos of this we totally ingored when it came to our desert order / coffee complained to deputy manager at the time ,recompence was free drink at bar but it was our anniversary and the meal was supposed to be special it ruined the night we didnt go back to the restuarant on the two other nights we stayed but still enjoyed the other amenties in the hotel
Staff were helpful, facilities were excellent, particularly the pool, jacuzzi & steam room. Nothing
4 attemts to get access to the room before the faulty lock was changed
Bathroom was shabby. Silverfish appearing at night. Room fairly comfortable but a let down compared to the excellent foyer, reception, bar and restaurant.
Staff were helpful. room nice and breakfast excellent. Our room was in a wing and to reach it we had to walk through a fairly scruffy area with a gym etc. Once we got to our room it was nice.
Very close to the conference centre. Staff coped well with the large number of guests (several conferences, events on at the same time). Even though booked non smoking rooms many months prior to the stay, these are not guarenteed, issued on a first come, first served basis.I Didn't notice if this was stated on the booking form/ information at the time of booking.Cleanliness of the bathroom was not good.
Location to International Centre was good as we were able to shop the same time. Situated away from many restaurants.
Duty manager responded well and positively to my request for a change of room. The gym is OK. Vastly overpriced for standard of accomodation and the food is awful. The only reason for staying in this hotel is the lack of alternative in the area.
Nice and friendly staff, clean room nice breakfast very old and dirty pluming system
The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, an excellent hotel and i'm sure i'll stay there again.
public areas room requires refurbishment particularly the bathroom
it was cheap & chearful and clean and comfortable and well located when we came to check out the receptionist tried to charge us double the price even though the booking in card said £47
Good Hotel none
Some staff did not give the appearance of being glad to have us stay with them Also quite long delay in breakfast queue - nearly quarter of an hour
Mainly friendly staff, bright, clean, very busy, good parking and proximity to Telford Town Centre and International Centre. A good centre too for visiting thehistoric sites of the area. It's embarrassing when you order at the bar and find you're ordering off the yesterday's special menu which hasn't been taken down and lose your place in the queue.
Very convenient for conferences and events at the Telford International Centre. Easy to find. Good car parking. Well equipped bedroom. Attractive restaurant and bar. Nothing to dislike.
We arrived at the room and first impressions were good. very clean, all the usual facilities tea, coffee, etc. The shower was the best i have ever used in a hotel(amazing hot and powerful) All shampoo and soaps supplied with lovely fluffy clean towels all to hand. All the bar prices were very competitive and pleasing. Very enjoyable stay and will definatly use again. Thanks. n/a
Central location, easy parking
ease of keeping a small dog with us
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. We liked everything about the hotel and our stay.
Very comfortable, in quiet green surroundings and very good food.
its location rooms were a bit 'dated'
The warm welcome N/A
Welcomimg and friendly host, beautiful , clean and spacious rooms excellent breakfast - no faaults whatsoever None
The hotel was lovely and Mel and Dave made us very welcome. Will definately be going back.
Cleanliness, staff were friendly, best place I have stayed in Telford
Owners were very friendly, rooms beautifully decorated a lovely place to stay when on a business trip
Really nice place - great hospitality, home cooked food, luxury bedrooms, good WIFI connection will definitely be back - Thank you
The best thing about the hotel was the friendly and helpful staff, if only other hotels had such capable and enthusiastic staff! Nothing stands out
Lovely room - recently done. Very friendly people that own guest house, couldn't do enough for us.Wonderful outside heated pool. All really nice. No
everything ,Facilities,clean helpful staff. Nothing
Attention to detail was excellent No
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Nice to stay in an old house with high ceilings and light airy rooms.
The food was excellent and the best cooked steak we have ever had any where. breakfast in bed fantastic . The hotel was in the middle of a trading estate . new rooms unable to stay in because of new paint and bed to high .room 11 so uneven in the rafts . bed so un evan would have no blood in feet in morning .room 12 ok clean but kettle lead was to short so had to boil on floor . also if a wedding is on you get no sleep untill after midnight if you dont mind .
Excellent location for my business trip in Telford. Staff were very welcoming. The room was large with a sofa and a good size bathroom with a shower over the bath. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a very good hotel.
Cannot fault the food, it is absoluteley superb.Staff are friendly, and you feel important throughout your stay. If you are either on business, pleasure, romantic weekend etc, then I recommend this hotel No newspaper in a morning, but then plusses outweigh the negatives
we were able to check in at 12 noon, which was very helpful to us.Staff very attentive. Food excellent Not enough water pressure on the top floor in the bathrooms, so either shower or running a bath.(but didn't spoil our stay)
The food was excellent, the hotel certainly deserves its AA rosette. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was conveniently located and easy to find. A party held in the conservatory restaurant meant we were subjected to excessive noise whilst dining and late into the night when trying to get some sleep, we could not open the bedroom window to cool the room down/get fresh air because of the noise and did not eat in the advertised restaurant area as this was reserved for the party.
Very pleasant staff and good, well priced food. Stained carpet in our room, no pillow cases on spare pillows, no shaver point
Greeted on arrival by a pleasant member of staff, bed was comfortable and all room facilities worked. Food was excellent and made the stay even more enjoyable Had to turn on radiators as room was cold on arrival and loo seat was damaged. Some lamps not working
Attractive and interesting bublic spaces. A good sized and comfortable room. A good breakfast. Bedroom picked up cooking smells from the kitchens.
The staff were warm and welcoming, approachable and had a really good sense of humour. Nothing
Lovely friendly hosts, excellent accommodation, and a beautiful, quiet location that is close to Telford & Shrewsbury
Excellent, welcoming and high quality family run establishment. Top class breakfast.
The dog! I wish I could remember his name, but he was adorable - made it really feel like it a true family-run b & B. Also, you must try the eggs for breakfast - from their own chooks and delicious.
Friendly, quiet, clean and helpful owners None
breakfast range that included omelette difficult to find
The rooms were clean and the service was excellent
Wonderfully friendly hosts, lovely rooms, excellen breakfast & Basil. Only wish we could have tried the restaurant. I had no complaints at all.
Great house, lovely people, best breakfats ever
The attention to detail, comfortable room, good hosts and wonderful breakfast! No
Excellent and interesting food Not keen on 4-posters! steep stairs within room to bathroom not good to use.
Good breakfast and dinner in restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Proximity to Ironbridge museums and facilities. Room had no outside windows although there was light from the passageway. Shower was difficult to control.
Receptionists customer service got a 4 poster bed but did not request one dont really like them
Convenient to visit local area
Welcome by reception very good.Fresh cooked breakfast. Position great for ironbridge and area. All staff friendly. Smell of paint. Not disable friendly-too many steps to negociate. Choice on evening menu not great and needed better explanation.
The staff where very helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble
Location & decor Staff at breakfast were forgetful and slow at rememebering who had requested what
Atractive setting (gardens down to river) and welcoming staff. Decor and ambience attractive. Restaurant good if not outstanding. Our room (16) had only thin partition separating it from 15 and consequently (there was continuous talk and laughter next door throughout the evening and again at around midnight) we had less peace than expected at this price and standard.
setting was great, easy to get to due to good signs from motorway, room was lovely with a balcony. There was a wedding on, but we were put in a room well away from it so it did not disturb us at all. breakfast seemed disorganised and we had to ask for basics, like coffee and toast.
The layout of the hotel and the rooms all over the place with no order with stairs up and down. Only one elevator for the size of the hotel. The lack of facial tissue, bathroom lighting. The rooms we were in had not been completely renovated. The heat did not come on until 6pm. The tv didn't work, the toilet paper was thin and the plastic glasses were horrible. Everything was cheap especially for the price. Even renovation will not change the meager and cheap amenities. Breakfast eggs were not good.
the staff were rude and arogant did not get the rooms we asked for genral poor attitude towards costomers
The peaceful, quiet and calming atmosphere with friendly staff available to provide help when required and excellent choice of breakfast menu
The food was very good, particularly the dinner menu and the staff coped with my dietary requirements very well.
lack of choice of drinks at the hotel bar
Situated in a lovely setting The hotel was a bit outdated and showing wear, rooms overlooking lawn lacked privacy, could do with lace or blinds. Wedding function also overspilled out onto lawn and went on until 2am, so not quite the relaxing and peaceful weekend that we had hoped for. Prices at the bar etc were astronomical therefore we ate and drank elsewhere. Due to the two wedding functions staff were very busy and it was difficult to attract their attention or obtain any kind of service.
Lovely location and very quiet. Food was excellent and Staff very friendly. The hotel is in need of a makeover. Room 64 - 2 TVs - was not concerned as only staying one night but could only get one channel on the old TV. Holes in walls where mirror to be fixed. Room smelled of old cigarette or cigar smoke.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Bed was clean and comfortable. no face flannels provided. provided towels very stiff and scratchy. no soaps in dispensers or shampoo.no floor mat for bathroom. breakfast uninspiring.expensive for room and facilities.
Manor house retains much of its charm Sat nav sends you down a lane so check on he map before you go.
Helpful and pleasant staff. Nothing else. Wifi only in reception! The place is basically 1980's naff and it needs either updating or bombing. Tired décor and dead mattress on a bed with a wobbly headboard. Worst of all though the place does weddings so we got the loudest band in the country playing until half past midnight. When we booked in, the lad on reception said we wouldn't hear it ...
outside the hotel looked beautiful the rooms were shabby and poorly decorated and furnished. The bathroom needed a good clean and new taps. Also the bed sagged in the middle.
Location was in easy reach of main attractions. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel ambience and actual building were very interesting due to the historic value. All in all very comfortable and relaxing. Could have been some more facilities but again due to the nature of the hotel building (historic) this did not detract from a great visit and the hotel building itself is very impressive.
nice food staff rude
We only stayed one night, but it was very nice. Photography is a hobby and I spent half the night poking around and taking photos and the staff was helpfull and supportive. The only downside was we were on the top level, there is a winding staircase that really winds and is steep. I had two heavy bags as well as the person I was with. It was really hard on him and he had to sit down to rest at the top. I know it is a historic building, but I am sure there is a way to install a small lift for luggage. When you book, ask for a lower floor or ask them to have some carry your bags up.
Friendly staff and good food The car park had a continual stream of water flowing across it. The room was very cold on the first night. The furnishings were tatty , the dresser chair had a hole in it and the wall paper was held up with tape in parts.
The appearance of the buildings, the wedding reception, bathroom was large . No extractor in bathroom, large pipes all around rooms, door had to be locked rather than self locking, water stain on ceiling in corridor. Some staff quite inexperienced and spilled drinks on me and did not apologise or offer any recompense.
Breakfast staff were very good and service was excellent. The evening staff were very good but they were short in numbers Poor Quality of the Steaks, The worst steak i have ever had. Small TV screen for the Bar / Lounge
Historic rooms are fantastic - food very good quality for the price and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in an historic room - everything was very old but the maintenance / housekeeping was poor - lamps with no shade, broken bulbs. dirty windows, quite dusty - although the linen was clean and the room freshly decorated. A little bit of attention would make a huge difference!
