Pros: Everything was quite good in the house. The view from the house was quite amazing.
Cons: The breakfast should have more options.
Pros: Beautiful house in the countryside, with the upstairs dedicated to three guest rooms. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The host was very friendly and provided a nice breakfast with local jams and homemade juice!
Cons: A note for those visiting in the summer: The listing states that there is air conditioning. There is no air conditioning in the room, only windows that open slightly. This wouldn't normally be a problem, as Belgium is usually quite cool even in the summers, but we were staying there during a heatwave (and specifically booked it for the air conditioning listing), so it was rather disappointing to find the amenities had been listed wrongly. Host needs to correct this, so future guests understand where they are staying.

Pros: Breakfast was awesome! Hosts were wonderful. Space was huge. Great location to explore WWII sites. Definitely would stay again.
Cons: It was unusually hot so a couple of fans would be nice.
Pros: We were blown away by the hospitality and wonderful care of the hostess, the amazing and charming decor of the facility, not to mention the more than elaborate breakfast that was served. Simply delightfull! Highly recommended!
Cons: We only regretted not booking later this year, when the indoor pool and sauna would be finished.
Pros: We felt welcome from the first moment. Although we were alone that evening, the fireplace was waiting for us with a nice glass of wine. Come in time to spend some time in the wellness. It looks great! Special service to have early breakfast was possible.
Pros: It was very cosy. The family is very friendly. Everything was perfect.
Cons: The walls of the rooms are very thin. With kids it disturbs others.
Pros: not very comfortable beds, the wellness was not super clean
Pros: A gem of a place! The couple who own it are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was made to order and fantastic! Will stay here again if we are in the area.
Pros: very comfortable soft bed. Super dinner and breakfast. Great common area with nice couches and fireplace; perfect for drinks with friends.
Cons: a little difficult to find
Pros: The host was very hospitable. We felt very welcome. The room was larger than expected and very clean. The decoration of the whole place was colourful and tasteful. We slept very well, bed super comfortable and so quiet at night. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and varied, with local products. Shampoo, body cream and towels are provided by the establishment.
Cons: There could be more attention to detail in the finishings (rush paint jobs and poorly finished joinings) if you're being finicky. The stairs leading to the rooms are very creaky. No soap was provided, nor somewhere to hang the towels. But these are all little details, it was a good stay.
Pros: Good breakfast. Friendly hosts. Good location to explore Battle of the Bulge
Cons: Building works - could see and hear the building works. Our room wasn’t properly finished - exposed electrical wires, one of the taps on the double sink not plumber in. Exposed pipes in the shower. Lots of rubbish at the back of the property. Not very tidy.

Cons: It was hot on the top floor but that wasn't something they could control.
Pros: The hosts are great.
Pros: It is hard to say what the best part of the visit was, because it was all wonderful! The location was close to main roads and Bastogne, yet far enough away to allow for a quit country atmosphere. The hosts were wonderful and very involved in their community. I cannot think of a question they could not answer. They also provided background to food and other items that really allowed you to feel as if you were integrating into the culture. The breakfasts were delicious and they took the time to explain the different offerings. The dinner we had was coursed nicely and allowed for pleasant conversation along with being delicious. Wonder hosts, wonderful place!
Pros: Very clean, super quiet out in the countryside
Pros: Very friendly and homeley
Pros: The hosts were absolutely lovely and provided lots of information about the area, including good and easy to follow routes for hiking/nordic walking. The 3 course homecooked style meal was delicious.
Pros: I loved the fact it was in a quiet little hamlet. This might not suit those looking for nightlife etc. but it is perfect for someone seeking respite after a busy day of touring historical sites or hiking. Denis is the most jovial and energetic host and he went out of his way to help with some logistical planning and making my next connection. The B&B is charming and a bargain at 80 Euros.
Pros: The location is very nice. Breakfast was enough and much choice. Beds were good to sleep. The hosts were very friendly and kind. Clean studio and facilities.
Cons: We missed the boiled egg and the bacon.
Pros: Denis was fantastic, and very personable. Wonderful location, beautiful home. Would love to have spent more time. The garden was amazing, the breakfast was wonderful. And plenty of coffee!

Pros: People at the reception were really nice. For bike travellers, there is a locked room for the bikes and this is is a great region to ride! The price!
Cons: Not a lot of eating places in the neighborhood. Only one of power plug for a dormitory of 8 beds.
Pros: Friendly staff Good breakfast.
Cons: Thin walls meant we could hear everything in the room next door.
Pros: Staff was very accommodating, and everything as described
Cons: The place is just not worth the cost of your stay, looking and feeling like a hospital
Pros: The staff Nicolas was friendly and helped One of the best hostel I have ever stayed Room, kitchen and common areas are exceptionally clean!
Cons: There is a bar at the reception May have non-resident drinking alcohol at the common area
Pros: There was a locked garage for bikes and breakfast was great!
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful.
Pros: Very spacious rooms!
Pros: Pleasant stay . Good breakfast with various and bio components . Bed was ok . Shower & toilet well cleaned . Good staff . I was alone into a 8 beds room !
Pros: Location. Nothing fancy, but cheap, affordable and easy. A basic dorm/hostel.

Hotel Les Bruyeres lies on the N4 between Marche-en-Famenne and Bastogne, a few minutes from several typical villages of the Ardennes, forests, hiking trails and hunting areas. The well-cared-for rooms give you a warm and cosy feeling. They come with private bathrooms. Les Bruyeres features a cozy bar with regional beers and a breakfast room with a panoramic view of the valley. Each of these spaces features a fireplace. A summer terrace is also available. The region is ideal for all kinds of touristic trips and sporting activities.
Pros: Cleanliness - terrace - garden - simple timeless room design/decoration (Deluxe room) - nice staff, flexible and French/English/German/Dutch spoken
Cons: Room on roadside - 85% soundproofed - noise not noticeable with TV on - to be fair, the traffic wasn't that much traffic on this road)
Pros: Great accommodation. Helpful proprietor. Garden to relax in. Comfortable rooms.
Cons: Restuarant closed on Sundays and nowhere to eat within walking distance. They did rustle us up something.
Cons: Charge for parking in open building, not mentioned when arriving. Room charge was expensive as was the dinner. Drink prices were extremely expensive. Right on main dual carriageway, traffic noise extremely loud.
Pros: Great location lovely views from the balcony, peaceful gardens to sit and relax. Secure parking. Host was really welcoming and helpful, food was great. Happy
Cons: Staff. Actually only 1 person, owner.
Pros: Nothing! The only positive thing is the restaurant/breakfast room, that I suppose it's just a showcase to attract customers. In any case, it's just the ambiance to be good, food is boring, at least what they serve for breakfast. The real hell you're getting into is hidden behind.
Cons: Extremely unprofessional. I had a single room for one night. The second day I went out in the morning and got back to the hotel at about 14h00. I found the door locked, nobody around cause the owner had decided it was a good idea to go out and leave the hotel. I had to stay one hour outside (it's located on a quite busy highway), waiting for the guy to show up...I also called the police who apologized for the owner's misbehavior, cause I needed to take some pills I had inside. When back to the hotel, the owner said he had gone for shopping. Never seen something more unprofessional from a hotel. I decided to leave the same day. To be fair, the owner did not want me to pay. I insisted and, final surprise, the machine stopped while I was typing in my card code. Result: no receipt, no ticket, nothing (I need it cause on a business trip). Besides all this, the hotel is crap, old, and located on a dangerous relatively (we're in the Ardennes) busy highway. Just to mention one thing, they have that kind of electronic WC you find in camper vans and roulottes...all that in a hotel supposed to be 3*. To cut short: avoid at any cost.
Pros: Food good. Secure parking for the bikes
Cons: Located on the edge of a busy road. Not much else about
Pros: Lovely room, friendly staff, great food.
Pros: Great room, really nice building.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Cons: Location is in the mid of nowhere. Hotel atmosphere like in the older horror movie. We were there the only guests for one night...very poor breakfast, clutter under the bed, mold in the fridge Generally I don’t think this hotel should have three stars. Quality does not match the price.
Pros: Hospitality and food were excellent, idealy located in the Ardennes region.
Cons: Do not take Maestro debit cards
Stay in this elegant hotel, open to guests since the 17th century and set in the beautiful, picturesque environment of the quaint village of Lavacherie. Built with special rock from the region, Auberge de Lavacherie provides a traditional atmosphere, while adding a modern and stylish touch to its interior. In a typical village in the Ardennes, on the wonderful River Ourthe, you will have a peaceful place to relax. Enjoy nature at its best and take advantage of this scenic, forested setting to go cycling or hiking. In autumn, the surroundings attract many visitors for the unique bellow of the deer in mating season. In the renovated restaurant you can taste some great food, prepared with local products. Let the children have fun in the playground, while you unwind with some games at the hotel, such as table football, bowling and billiards.
Pros: Good standard continental breakfast at 9€. Quiet room. Friendly staff.
Pros: The location was ideal for where we wanted to be on our trip.
Cons: The rooms are grim and in much need of updating. The best phrase I could use to describe the decor would be early 80’s horror film chic. The very narrow stairs to the room were probably carpeted around the time of the 60’s and now look and feel like a death slide coming down! We paid extra for a suite after reading reviews that said the rooms were small. Bathroom was clean, there was a sofa and tv in the room part of the suite. Tea & coffee making facilities were a joke. 2 plastic disposable cups! The breakfast was beyond grim, don’t waste your €9 on stale meat & cheese and pastries that can only be described as defrosted. The staff were conspicuous by there abscence we were shown to our room after being told there was no restaurant open then didn’t see anyone until we checked out.
Pros: Hostess was very friendly and nice. Rooms were very large and having access to triple room was very good for a family of 5. Quaint old hotel with modern upgrades gave a balance of charm and convienence. Nice upgrades to historic building
Cons: Other than a narrow staircase, which is part of the charm, we cant say anything about changes
Pros: Where do I begin? We arrived 55 minutes before the check in which was at 1730. We were told that we were early and the room wasn’t available. Then, within minutes we were informed that it was now available. (This was odd as it is a very small hotel, maybe 10-15 rooms and no cars were in the parking area.) we thanked the lady and went to our room. We discovered the room heat radiators (2) were on the lowest possible setting. No problem, we turned them up to high and expected some warmth. NOT THE CASE! We were very cold that evening and for the first night. The next morning we left to tour the area and left the heat settings on high expecting that when we returned the room would be comfortable. Again, NOT THE CASE. When room service was provided, all of the heat was turned back down. Our room was again frigid as the average temp outside was in the 20’s-30’s. When I went to the front desk and asked for a blanket I was asked why. When I said someone turned the heat down and the room was cold again I was told “you had them set to high. It makes it too warm!” I was like, what? Then the lady said she would turn it up “in the back room.” So, know in advance that the temp settings are controlled by the staff and they will tell you if you are cold or not, and then lead you to believe that you can actually turn your temp up or down in the room. Amazingly, by morning, the room was warm. Room service: Guests should know that there will not be a restocking of hygiene items or coffee/tea, cups from room service each day. When my wife asked, she was taken to a storage room down the hallway, and told she could get whatever she wanted there. We were never told this at check in. WiFi: From what we could determine, it did not exsist. Nothing was said about it at the front desk. We couldn’t find it. Breakfast: Was a fair offering of basic items. However at 9€ a plate I would have expected more. We had one breakfast there and chose not to go on day two.
Cons: Customer Service is nonexsistant. The staff was at best, somewhat helpful and friendly. That is if they were around. When we checked out no one was there. So, I guess that is why they charged us for our second day of breakfast which we did not have. 9€ per plate. They could clearly see on the video cameras that are located at the entry desk that we left BEFORE breakfast was even served, yet fraudulently charged us. Additionally, calls were unanswered, as well as email. I believe in paying for what I recieved, but when thieves steal from me such as this hotel did, they should be identified. Perhaps this was why I observed only 1 other guest our first night, and 2 other guests on our second night. I would not recommend this hotel.
Cons: Noisy in the morning
Pros: Rooms were a very good size. Owner was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Staircase a little narrow and steep
