Pros: The cooked breakfast was very tasty and the family who run it are very friendly. The bed was really comfy and it was overall a nice relaxed atmosphere to come back to every day. Lots of lovely walks nearby. Nice place!
Cons: Quiet time is until 8am. This was a bit late for me as I was here on a work trip and I felt bad because I needed to use a noisy hairdryer. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, which was also a bit late for me but since most people are here on holiday to relax I understand that. Perhaps these times could be clearer in the description.

8.7 Excellent (138 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast which was provided in the hotel next door
Cons: Nothing. Will recommend it to my friends.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Where do I start!!. Upon arrival my friend and I had our attention drawn to the fact that we had a double bed and we where 2 females. This made us uncomfortable from the beginning.we where also informed that breakfast didn't come with our booking which was incorrect. We where stuck in an attic room which was extremely small. The room was extremely warm and the window only opened slightly. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the handle was broken. The shower was freezing cold and took ages to warm up. The bed was lumpy. To top things off we received a rap on our door the following morning by a very irate and angry owner telling us that we must leave immediately. He said that we had been noisy the night before and had cleared the top floor. He wouldn't give us a chance to say anything. The previous evening we had been lying in bed talking. Again, we where in the attic room which wasnt appropriate for guests as the walls where paper thin. There where also no signs stating that talking was forbidden after any specific time. There was only 1 other guest on the same floor. We where extremely upset. We also tried to explain to him that some of his guests had been smoking on the floor below which was so bad that it had drifted all the way up to our room. He just huffed and continued to escort us out the door. We felt humiliated and couldnt understand what we had done. Our advice would be if you are under 90 please do not stay here. We feel we where judged from the beginning if this experience. I would advice guests to look elsewhere

The Sands Hotel - Tramore - Bedroom
11
8.7 Excellent (76 reviews)
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast the first morning was good a full Irish is not for me as I don't eat a lot in the morning but it was good, the 2nd morning I said I would go with scrambled eggs and hash browns, The waitress brought out the plate, the hash brown was overdone and you could not eat it, I called the waitress and told her she said that she would get me another one, she took away the plate and came back about 8 to 10 mins later yes there was a better hash brown but the scrambled eggs were stone cold again I called her and told her this she offered to take it away and get me fresh scrambled eggs where I said not to bother as my family were finished their breakfast and I would be waiting too long, she offered me something else and I said not to bother and said its not her fault but the chef is at fault here, I was very disappointed with the breakfast.
Cons: The week before we stayed at the Sands the receptionist rang me to say they would-be music in the hotel and it may be very loud and as we had a baby with us and he may wake up due to the noise she gave me the opportunity to cancel which I refused as it would be unable to get other accommodation, she told me she would put us in rooms away from the noise. when we got there we checked in and got rooms 309 and 310, later that night after 2.00am the noise started it was not the music that we heard but people talking outside the hotel and there were talking very loud. the next day we asked if we could change rooms but they were booked out and could not change us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was all great, room was nice and clean, stuff friendly, nice breakfast.
Cons: I've been warned about that after booking, so can't really complain - but noise from disco was louder then expected.
4.5 Okay
Pros: breakfast ok
Cons: noise from disco till 2am noise from crowds till 3.am. Asked to be moved and was offered double bed and a camp bed. No internet no bedside lamps only one chair. 2 managers were inept and unprofessional and I checked out after 1 night. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone over 40.
5.5 Okay
Pros: I liked the breakfast and the staff were friendly
Cons: The hotel could do with a refurbishment and the single room is ridiculously small and not worth the price
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: View from my room.breakfast was not very good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: the beach is right on the doorstep! Very welcoming staff who are willing to help. Bus stop right across the road Room is very modern and quite comfortable.
Cons: No Iron in the room the first morning there was no hot water in the shower (passed this onto reception who had the issue fixed)
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was small but clean. The bed was comfortable. Check-in was quick and fast.
Cons: The location of room in hotel as I had a child with me and there was a disco on. The walls were thumping and the lights from the disco flashing in the room through the blind as there was no curtain on railing. We didn't sleep till 1.30am. Breakfast was only ok I got dry burnt rashers on doughy English muffins. Thank god the egg was good.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, although a little on the warm side in the room. A little pricey but it was the August weekend. Kids disco 7 to 9 was great for the toddler. And music in the bar on Saturday night for entertainment . Breakfast had a good selection. Oh smart tv was great so I could log into my Prime and Netflix to watch shows (Peppa pig)

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very cozy, had a great sleep! Location is great ( right next to the waterfront) good facilities like Kettle, tea, coffee, nice TV, hair dryer etc... Staff were great! Overall a really really great stay but just a few minor issues that could be fixed would go a long way.
Cons: Not enough towels- Room could use some work for example, there were a few cracks in the wall paper where it was peeling away, aswell as the room itself being a bit old fashioned in terms of decor... in other words an update to the room we had would go a long way. -bath/shower wasn’t too clean, and a few stains on blanket. - We booked for one night for €90 in a double room, but breakfast is want included which was a disappointment for the money, and maybe a more defined area for the hotel, for example some more signs? And maybe a check in, away from the pub/bar. But that’s my personal opionion. Once again, overall it was a great stay and a great sleep. The room was nice, the staff were lovely, the location is wonderful, and the facilities were as you would expect. Although it had some draw backs as mentioned, it was still a great stay and I would recommend it! I’d definitely come back. However the biggest problems would be the lack of breakfast and cleanliness.

Pros: Great location
Cons: The window catch was broken and didn't shut, so fairly noisy and may be cold in poorer weather (Room 25). Also, we were above the bar and heard every word of the pub singer/jukebox until 3am! Probably not suitable for young families or business guests!
5.5 Okay
Pros: No food bed fine

Pros: Location and staff
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast and breakfast staff. Location is good.
Cons: On checking in we were booked into a 2nd floor room, there is no lift and we have a 6 month old baby. My wife counted 5 sets if steps to get to the room which makes things hard with a buggy. When we asked about rooms in the other building (which we stayed in before) we were told it was all stairs too, until we mentioned we had stayed on the ground floor before, then a room became available. Why not allocate us this room in the first place? The room had a double and 2 singles which were comfortable , bathroom was tiny with a shelf over the toilet and not over the sink which was a bit strange. The wooden floor in the room was very old with lots of scrapes and marks too. There was building work going on next door and we had workers going past the windows all day so we had to keep the curtains closed. We were told when checking out that the windows are mirrored glass but we weren't aware of this. Noise from the builders started at 7.30 and went on until 8.30 one night. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel as we found the menu expensive and the night time entertainment didn't seem to attract much of a crowd so we went else where. After paying €400 for 2 nights b&b I was very disappointed and looked forward to going home for a rest, not how you should feel when on holidays
5.5 Okay
Pros: Only for the location was a big seller but that’s all it had going for it Where we were staying
Cons: I didn’t know I was to be put in across the road from the hotel In on apartment type digs we we’re level to a pub that had opened and yes music blaring but the management wasn’t expecting it to be open that soon where we stayed the window hinge was so rusted no I don’t have photographic evidence the room was small enough with a shower in the bath slide curtain rail very uncomfortable with the curtain sticking to your body as you showered
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent..food v good..staff friendly and efficient. Bed very comfortable..
Cons: We stayed in the gate lodge which is separated from main hotel.. no power in Shower, bathroom and bedroom v hot.. had to remove quilt from bed.. main hotel needs to be refurbished with bright colours, natural light, bar v dark and dreary, it needs a Brennan make over..

Pros: Evelynn is a most welcoming hostess in her beautiful home. We were treated to a five star stay in every way-the room was very comfortable, the breakfasts outstanding, and afternoon tea was delicious. We would definitely return if we were back in Tramore!
