Location (views and proximity to other services) and staff were great. Small issue; There was no 'do not disturb' sign in room.
We are 2 couples who did select an overnight stay at this property mid August, (since we could not get into Tofino). The (adjoining) rooms arespacious and tastefully furnished . The view of the rugget pacific ocean is amazing. We even spotted whales, a very pleasant surprise! The bathroom amenities with deep modern tubs and seperate shower are a' treat'! Our dinner at the inhouse dining room matched the general high qualitty of the amenities with good food and an innovative menu. We were impressed with the overall efficiency and pleasant service of the staff. ( not often found in a brand new hotel) Unfortunately our schedule did not permit to stay longer, but we will definitely be back again and can highly recommend Black Rock to anyone enjoying a bit of refined luxury and pampering.
I loved the way that this resort 'fits' into its rocky beach location.... the natural materials used in construction, the relaxing/natural color schemes, access to the Wild Pacific Trail. The staff was always available and always helpful. The restaurant was top-notch with an unrivaled view. Despite the wedding parties in residence, we heard absolutely no noise after bedtime. The bathrooms are gorgeous. If you visit, be sure to book the Archepelago boat tour - it was incredible!
We really were looking for a place to enjoy the ocean and sunsets. This is our second time at Blackrock since January and we have not only found this to be a fantastic place to enjoy nature, but also great hospitality, dining and a starting point for exploring the incredible surrounding area. You really must try the Wild Pacific Trail! Whatever the weather, Blackrock gives you amazing views and lots of room to sit outside or by the fireplace on those rainy days. There's an amazing view and lots of room to kick back and relax inside. We stayed in a studio in one of the cottages and found we had plenty of room to cook when we wanted to (there's even a dishwasher!), sit by the fire or enjoy our own patio. We also watched a couple of movies on the huge flat screen - so consider bringing those dvds you haven't had a chance to watch yet if you end up staying inside or when recovering from a hike! The rates were incredilbly good and the staff took the time to make sure our stay was top notch. The resort is brand new so the spa wasn't open this time around but it sure looks like it will be worth it to come back in a couple of weeks for the spa opening. We've stayed at Long Beach Lodge and the Wickinnish in Tofino but prefer Blackrock - it is definitely worth your while to give it a try.
Clean, great view, friendly service! Room and grounds were immaculate. Gave us a free upgrade as well.
modern with up to date amenities like previous people mentioned, the fishermen were a little noisy at 5-6am, but I was able to go backt o sleep.
Beautiful, clean room. Comfortable beds. Great, welcoming staff. Perfect location.
Simplicity I arrived late key was where they said it was and walked right in awesome place has everything you need , quite peaceful place Price was right only issue wi fi sucked none to be had I would stay here again for the $ I paid. Poor Wi Fi
The location was good and the staff was friendly. A variety of insects were present inside, the frying pans needed to be replaced, there was mold growing in the towel basket, and the wifi service was about 90% inoperable. I had to request routers to be reset any time I wanted to be online.
Very quiet. The bed a bit old and soft. Well equipped very small kitchen. Wifi reception not available in cottage but only available in front of the office. Cottage very adequate for our needs. Even though the bed was not uncomfortable ,it should be fixed. Lining underneath was dangling on the floor.
jacuzzi bathtub, barbeque, privacy parking space too small for my truck, no wifi in cottage
Great quiet location but also convenient and close to anything we needed
We enjoyed our fourth trip to the Ucluelet region. The weather was beautiful and ideal to enjoy the spectacular scenery. No
the accomodation was spacious and scenic....very comfortable.
Wonderful accommodation, gracious hostess and excellent location. Very peaceful surroundings. Lack of control over heat.
The heating system was busted on our first night, leaving the room near 30 degrees with the window open. The hot water ran out on 2 of 3 nights - the hot water tank has a smaller capacity than the tub. Neither plug fitted properly. We had to move rooms because of noise - from the owners' family. We overhead the guests in the next room (thin walls) complaining about the heating and their shower. When we complained, the owner was verbally aggressive. We should not have been charged for the first night - with excessive heat and no hot water. This was unfit accommodation.
Totally brand new rooms and furniture. Very ample, high ceiling and big windows that open to the outside. Come with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and counter sink. No carpeted floorsBase board heaters with individual thermostats.Good size washroom. Lack of night lamps on the night tables.Lack of a dining table and chairs.
Room was not cleaned when I arrived, was never really cleaned. My reservation was not booked correctly by hotel and mgt complained that they would have to upgrade someone else for me to have my room for the time I had booked it.
Great location! Room was clean and did not look like the typical motel room, very clean and modern...
