Friendliness of staff Seemed exceedingly quiet - lacked some atmosphere
Location and quality of the hotel. It is a relaxing envirnoment Not really. We were allocated the wrong room on arrival but that was quickly changed.
Impressive reception area, helpful staff, cleanliness Expensive, limited facilities for a 5 star hotel
The staff were incredibly helpful and did everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic trip. The quality of the hotel, staff, facilities, food were all amazing. Only a short walk to a beautiful sandy beach. It was by far the best hotel I've stayed in! Nothing - it was perfect!
The standard of the hotel is excellent. The staff were all both professional & friendly.
There is nothing to do but relax. No shopping, no nights out, the hotel is in a secluded part of town. The bed was made of two single beds. This was very uncomfortable for my partner and I.
Staff were attentive, friendly and provided a high level of service. Excellent facilities and good value for the money. The only complaint I have is the poor quality of the beds and pillows. An upgrade is required in these areas. That is why I rated comfort as satisfactory. As well, the fitness facility could use additional equipment.
The staff were excellent throughout I believe that a Chef / Cook in attendence in breakfast room would make a huge difference be it for fresh cooking of eggs / pancakes and suchlike
The pool was excellent They arranged a taxi service that was substantially more expensive than local firms. Also local firms charge from receipt of call not collection, can't be avoided but worth knowing and still cheaper than the hotel recommendation.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. Hotel traditional portugese in style and spotless.
Our apartment was covered with ants the kitchen and living area
We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa and it was absolutely luxurious
total privacy ... big appartments, lots of space1
Vale do Lobo resort is luscious and green and extremely well kept, the staff were efficient, helpful and polite. A golfers paradise or simply a great place to relax. Hire a car if you want to explore surrounding areas. Many of the restaurants on the Vale Do Lobo resort are overpriced and the food disappointing. Similarly, the onsite supermarket is incredibly overpriced (€7 for a can of deodorant!) so beware.
We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment and could not have gotten better accomodation. Everything was luxury and the staff and security were very helpful. The kids loved the beach, the pool, the tennis and the putt putt golf. Would recommend to someone wanting to get away and relax.
nice hotel similar to villar do golf parking down by sea
Excellent apartment with a pool. Golf courses fantasic but expensive. The apartment was advertised as being 500 metres from the sea with sea views. This is not the case. you had to drive 15 minutes to get to the sea.
It is not a Hotel. They have service apartments of various sizes. Good for longer stay. Great for golfers or Tennis enthusiasts. Because of the size there is a mini bus service for the resorts, very efficiently run. The reception area is too far away from the actual drive way. Long procedure checking in. No seating while waiting for bus to collect.
Extensive resort with all facilities that one needs. Range of accomodation that suits families as well as couples. Sport & service facilities are excellent. There are a wide range of restaurants that suit most travellers with the food being good but not excellent. The main restaurant and bar/beach areas tend to have music/life music which is fine occassionally however can be a little much at times so we found a few restaurants that were not in the main areas of the resort and hence quieter or there is of course always the opportunity to have dinner outside the resort.
Excellent resort, very safe and something for all ages. Great beach and accommodation options. Would highly recommend.
The Garden Hotel is closed for refurbishment and we were asked to stay at the Ria Park Hotel about which these answers are given. The hotel is excellent.
Classy rooms and decoration, excellent service, beautiful gardens, great value. The swimming pool water was a little opaque which discouraged us from using it. The beautiful marble flooring was a problem when we had someone above us wandering around with high heels at 2 am.
nice staff. Room very nice. Beach Facilities very good. Bit isolated- Hiring Car a Must. Parking at Hotel very Poor.No Shop available to get Newspapers. Spa not on Site.
The staff went out of their way to make our holiday enjoyable. The pool area was lovely.
Clean tidy room Clinical, hands-off atmosphere
The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The food and service was excellent. Our every need at the hotel was catered for. The shuttle service to the beach was very useful particularly with a young child. The hotel was somewhat isolated from the nearest town which limited the choice for dining and shopping.
location bizarre design of the room
excellent facilities, very friendly staff. Well situated for Faro airport. Good rate from booking.com
the situation of the hotel, e.g. the views around the nature park and sea. the pools and gardens within the hotel too. the hotel was isolated and overpriced.
We were upgraded to the Ria Park Hotel (5*) and it was fabulous. Large clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet and relaxing. Good location to get to use as a base, few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants, good restaurants locally. One night 3 coaches arrived for less than 24hrs it was very disruptive as coach guests were very noisey and turned up with a large dog! Swimming pools ice cold andhotel prices were steep. More facilites for kids would have been good
Breakfasts excellent and great to sit beside the window on the top floor sipping coffee and watching planes approaching the airport, with the marina below. Overall the hotel provides very good for money. Internet booking saved about 7 euros per night While we were there we booked an extra night for a fortnight later and were given suite style accommodation for that night, which was excellent recently refurbished accommodation. Swimming pool on the roof is a real bonus, with excellent views across the coastline. Accommodation very central, excellent position. There is a busy street below and the main bus and coach station, however, two layers of double glazed doors and thick curtains means that sleep is not a problem Other guest reviews I had seen were not as positive about the hotel as I thought they could be. Unable to get a marina side view even though requested in email.
Great view , good location in Faro, very nice spa .
the location very poor service for a 4 star hotel: no working safe in the room, a mini bar with 3 bottles of water, no working internet service.....
Staff were really great, location was good, beds were reasonably comfortable although it was two singles and as we'd just got engaged we wanted a double. Wifi didn't work, beds were crammed in- and there were three, when we only needed the one double- room service selection was really poor, facilities were ok but the pool was absolutely freezing, shower leaked everywhere and the bathroom grouting had mould growing on it, room temperature control didn't work so on a hot day was pouring out hot air into the room...to say it was a four star hotel it has two star qualities. Be glad the staff are fantastic because the rest of it was really poor. Would definitely never go back.
Hotel Eva is a very pleasant place with helpful staff and great facilities, which makes it an ideal place to stay in faro,If their is a down side it would be that their can be some street noise but this depends on which room you are staying in as to the level of noise that you will hear.
practice sports in hotel Gym
We selected hotel EVA in Faro for location and value for money. Both were excellent. The hotel is in the same building as the bus station for the lines from faro to Sevilla, Spain, and at the same time 200m from the old town. Internet should be free of charge, as there is no running cost for it. Safety box in room was not large enough for my laptop.
The gym WiFi access not available
Good location yet very quiet Don't know why we weren't given a balcony when we paid for most expensive room and hotel was far from full
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the short distance to local bars, restaurants and shops was a bonus.
Convenient location, very clean and comfortable room found the sound proofing minimal with noticable noise from adjacent rooms
Good location, easy to find easy to check in and out nice scenery at the breakfast room air-condition was poor carrage was expensive (10 e/ngt), same as bigger cities
Breacfast on the 4th floor with nice view to the salt marshes I did not now do I need to pay additionally for drinks from refregerator or it is included in price
Good Location Information pack in room not good
No bedside table No facecloth No tissues Very minimalist decor
Great location in the centre of Faro with stunning coastal views from rooftop the Restaurant The noise from the town square can be an issue in the early hours
comfortable and relaxed.Friendly staff who are helpful. Breakfast prepared too far in advance.could be varied.Car park too expensive and poor design
No room service menu - only on bar menu which was ham & cheese or cheese & ham sandwiches!;
The location and the design of the hotel.
We liked the location, the view from our room to the marina, the excellent rooftop restaurant, the friendliness of the staff.
great location. very competent courteous and helpful staff. excellent breakfast! rooms were exceptionally clean and provided all amenities. would highly recommend great value for a stay in Algarve
Location, cleanliness, staff Not applicable
Excellent location and very clean. Also, all facilities are in hotel for food and beverage.
great value for money, good room, not big for 2, but ok. Breakfast is nourishing, the hotel has its own confectioner, all the bakery is very delicious, especially Portuguese national round cakes with custard. The hotel is near to the centre and city mall with shops, pastelarias and small restaurants they have no ironing room or at least iron. Also there is no computer with i-net. So if you are unlucky to travel without netbook, prepare to look for an i-net cafe.
nice staff, esp at reception, spoke fluent English, well situated hotel, clean and modern it was like it was still undir construction, not complete, the breakfast was not so interesting
Proximity of excellentn restaurants and services Parking problem (no street parking aside from 2 spots)
Family room, clean, well equipped. One of the staff members at the reception desk was kind of rude. The rest of the staff was good. The room we stayed in was tiny. The pillows were very old and unconfortable.
The accessabilityto local shops, restaurants and seafront. The smart appearance and politeness of the staff. Newly refurbished to a high standard. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We have been travelling around Italy, Southern Spain and Portugal for three months and this hotel is easily the best value for money accommodation we found. Staff are wonderful, very friendly, professional and always anxious to help. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a set menu (changes daily) of a three course meal with either a fish or meat dish for seven and a half euros. They also have a great (and cheap) coffee shop with some of the best cakes we could find. We stayed four nights and wished it had been more. Faro is a lovely little town where you can spend quite a few days looking around and just taking it easy. We met people who have been coming back to this hotel for years and we can understand why.
location was tops ,staff more than helpful and it met all my requirements of my holiday Balcony door did not shut properly , was no security risk but noise was a slight issue room 207
+ close tho the airport + clean rooms + rooms are comfortable + very friendly hotel staff +/- no elevator, using stairs with luggage to go to the first floor. However, for us no problem at all. Hotel staff is very friendly and will help people who want/need it. +/- no dedicated no smoking rooms. When letting staff know preference no-smoking, they will accompany you and make sure you get an odor-free room.
Very convenient for Faro Airport
The convenience to airport. The restaurant although we didn't eat in it looked to be very good. Bit vague in identifying hotel. Seemed more like a restaurant from exterior.
Great location for early Faro departure. Hotel, modern and spotless, staff were extremely helpful, evening meal excellent value, breakfast great variety. Nothing at all.
proximity to Faro Airport and ease of check in Web site should provide full directions from the airport
Clean, large rooms. Noise from the street
The welcome that we had when we booked in. The staff could not do enough for you or give you a cleaner, nicer room.
Thje size of the rooms and cleanliness Perhaps a softer bed.
The price v service ratio is excellent and exceeded expectations. The rooms were clean. It was quite noisy at night added by fridge in room.
Very close to Faro airport. The hotel was a very positive surprise, big rooms, breakfast from 4am, helpfull reception staff, very good food at the restaurant.
Set in a quiet village it was like stepping back in time on passing through the Doors of Casa de Estoi. Fabulous hotel superbly clean All the staff made us feel welcome and spoke good English.Perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway.
The quaintness and character of the house, both inside and out. There were no credit card facilities and the pool was neither heated (as advertised) nor particularly clean. As an aside to the hotel itself, the neighbouring church chimes its bells on the hour and half hour too which can be a bit disruptive if you want an afternoon snooze by the pool!
wonderful hotel full of nooks and crannies to explore.great service, nothing is too much trouble.Very helpful manager who is very welcoming and friendly.Had a great stay as it is a great location for airport, motorway and Faro.excellent base. Somewhat noisy rooms opposite village square. breakfast ok for short stay, but became boring after fourteen days
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a great house. Rental car recommended. Great place to relax.
friendly and helpful manager; excellent breakfast; very nice interesting town.
the staff were very attentive and they had a pool table and a number of chess boards just laying around the place, it feels like your at home, there was a lot of traffic sound, you are surrounded on all sides by road and they tend to fly around reving the engines a lot,
Beautiful house - lots of history and nicely appointed rooms.
The management immediately make you feel welcome. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff excellent. Everyone shares their days' experiences at breakfast or in the comfortable bar/lounge in the evenings. Nothing to fault.
It was a perfect Portuguese hotel set in a small agricutural town with fantastic staff , a lovely room and balcony, small pool set within a relaxing courtyard. Very atmospheric and delightful.
The hotel staff was very helpful and we enjoyed staying there a lot. The hotel is very beautiful, its swimming pool is great too. If bored its possible to play pool or chess. The city where hotel is located has a nice atmosphere. Having a car is a must.
Hotel Monaco went above and beyond what we were expecting. We read the reviews on here and thought we would take a chance as we were on a budget. The hotel was impeccably clean though, with new feeling linen, fresh looking interior and decor to match. The room was really nice, and big, with a balcony (you must ask for a balcony room), and there is buffet breakfast every morning which is actually very good!! There is fresh fruit, cereals, milk, nesquik, tea, coffee, scrambled eggs, fresh rolls, ham, cheese, sausages, yoghurts and juice. A great way to start the day!! We had no problem with noises, and the cleaners were very trustworthy and did very good jobs on the room daily. The staff were all helpful and very kind. Fantastic!!! The sausages and croissants at breakfast, though everything else was perfect!! I did think the hotel was a little closer to faro centre, but the courtesy bus which was available almost every time we needed it was very good. Even if it's not - its only 5 euro to get to the centre.
Very convenient for airport for early or late arrivals and departures and have used it for most of these situations. Also good value as it is well placed for motorway connections, also Faro centre. Nothing
location for seeing area round Faro
We needed a hotel near to the airport and were more than pleased with Hotel Monaco. Friendly efficient service, good quality room, good breakfast choice. Helpful with booking a taxi the next morning.
Perfect for Overnight for an early flight next morning . Food choice not very good. I had a hamburger , very average .
A very good little hotel in the medium price range, with good facilities including a nice restaurant.. I particularly chose this hotel as it was advertised as having a shuttle service, but when I asked to use it, I was refused because I needed it at 08:15 to go to the airport and this was too early.
The pool area was good Unable to get hot water from reception, at 6.30am, to heat up babys bottle and no hot water in room.
Overall experience and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Fruit juice at breakfast was not fresh - it was clearly orange squash.
Very good welcome & service. Very comfortable room. The staff looked after my expensive jacket that I left behind. We had to take a smoking room as very few non smoking rooms.
Nothing exceptional and not a hotel to go on holiday too. I was away for business and it was ok. construction work and no bar.
The hotel was very quiet and we had view on a church from our window. Someone walked into our room straight after we checked in - we think that it was cleaner.....
it was clean, comfortable, good location, close to airport and walkable to all town amenities.
The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel is very quiet. The staff are nice and helpful and the location is good, about 10 minutes walk to the city center. The only thing I didnt like too much was the breakfast, as it is very basic. A bit more choice and variety would be really good.
Friendly and helpfull staff.
parking and cenral
The cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the staff knowledge was excellent, providing maps and showing you where everything was. The lack of facilities at the hotel was disappointing, there was nothing to do when the weather was bad and I am pleased I didn't have the children with me because that would have been a nightmare.
The room was quite big. It had a separate living room as well a jacuzzi. The breakfast was excellent. It is a bit far from the bus/train station. It was a bit difficult to find it.
Everything was ok, we stayed there very shortly but it was clean, easy to find,
No hastle No
The room door lock was pretty poor and staff merely showed me how to open it with my shoulder
This hotel was a great disappointment. The only good thing about it was its close proximity to the marina and old town. There were so many stairs to climb and no offer of assistance with our bags. There was no warm welcome. The room was very basic and the beds were terrible - so lumpy! I bet the owner/manager wouldn't sleep on them! It was at the cheaper end but compared to where we stayed in Albufeira for less there was no comparison!
Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean. Cable TV. Very nice terrace with the possibility of buying cheap drinks from reception. Quiet, although walls are very thin and you can listen to people coming in. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff rooms were quiet, Use of large terrace very central Price was brilliant. I would stay here again Rooms were very small and the facilities were very basic, which was reflected in the price. Good value for your money.
Great location, very close to the bus station and old town. good price. Poor sound isolation of the room. could appreciate if they changed towels for the 4 days that we stayed
narrow path to reach the room on the balcony and no lift
Staff were friendly with very good English.
Value for money. Location is just a couple minutes away to the local downtown. It's not like a usual hotel, it is very much a guest house. Very noisy. If you get a room by the entrance, you'll be hearing door bell very loud and anoyng. There are different wired smells in this guest house, pretty old furniture, but rooms are really clean. No breakfast!!!! But I suppose its value for money.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location: really close to the train station. The price is way, way to high! And it includes only sleeping over, no breakfast. The room has the size of a matches box and we're not fat people and not even too picky. But definitely didn't like it here. The windows make you feel like you're in prison or samething(exetremly small). The bathroom is suited maybe for kids up to 5 years old; only they can fit in there. And the door of the room is so thin that it feels as you're sleeping on the hallway. Would definitely not recommend it except if maybe the alternative is to sleep in the street.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful stay and the hotel was very central and only a short walk from the town centre.
Nice location, not too far from the train station but that's about all it has going for it... there are better options nearby. Rooms are tiny, no real views or atmosphere. For the budget conscious only.
The staff were all pleasant and the room, though small, very clean.
Staff at Hotel Ibis Faro were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Also very close to airport, ideal for an early morning flight. Room was not very comfortable while bathroom was not entirely clean.
The Friendlyness, cleanliness, good food and great funny Darius at the bar Lift out of order
nearby the airport Very bad communication with hotel staff. Room wasn't clean. Very expensive facilities and services with poor standard.
I picked the hotel as its close to the airport for the early morning flight. They were well organised for this and I will use them again
They were happy for us to leave our luggage early before the room was ready. I paid for breakfast when I didn't have to, annoying.
Extremely convenient for a one night stay. Very close to the airport. Efficient staff.
Greta breakfast Smelly room, not that clean, broken AC
We needed the hotel for one night, it was reasonably close to the airport and had good parking and suited our requirement very well. No
Close to the airport the bed was not comfortable
hotel in good quiet location near to bus and train station. very clean.
Easy access from outside the city but within walking distance to the city center
everything excellent especially staff no
convenience to the airport and a good staging point to the rest of the Algarve
Price, cleanliness A bit worn out.
Friendly staff, well located, clean and inexpensive, would stay again.
The staff were very helpful. The hotel is easy acess to the airport and walking distance to the town centre but over looking a park.
From room with balcony is amazing view to town. Hotel near to centre and very easy access to/from AirPort. I forgot my mobile in the hotel - Thanks a lot to staff and Elvino, who ASAP sent me the phone to Vilnius.
good proximity to airport for late flights, and location on the beach nothing
I loved the hotel. The location cannot get any better, for the beach is literally 10 seconds away and it's only 5 mins by car from the airport, and yet you get peace and quiet since it's located on the isolated lagoon that can only be reached by crossing the bridge. The staff were very helpful, spoke very good English, very kind. They gave a lift for my very early departure and made me a lunch pack. The room had a balcony facing the beach and Atlantic Ocean and the dining space is facing the lagoon where you can see the Sun coming out and have breakfast while enjoying the view. I abosolutely had an amazing time and the very best time of my life. Nothing I can say.
it was 10m from the beach, not far from the airport and had really friendly staff perhaps the bathroom - but it was value for money
The location of the hotel is very good, just a few steps form the beach. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.
close proximity to the beach and friendly staff made our stay pleaseant and hotel views where decent dated decoration and facilities not enough pillows and uncomfortable bed
The breakfast, the central location Two single beds pushed together to make a "double bed"
The Residencial Afonso lll was a great place for us to stay as we were flying out of Faro at 6 am. It is a 2 min walk from the train station and seemed to be in a good location. Staff was fantastic and very eager to assist with directions, information etc. Rooms were small but comfortable. A very nice place, for the budget traveller. Bathtub was permenantly stained where bathmat should be and bathroom could have been cleaner. I think it was more the appearance of being dirty (eg old grout, stained floor etc) than actual dirt.
Good value for money. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast rather basic
Helpful staff, pleasant hotel interior, clean room and bathroom, decent bed, AC, balcony with view Ugly street and unattractive main entrance (but a lot better from the other side)
good value for money, very close to train station
The fact that the room had a patio, and the cleanliness The room was extremely small, and had no view whatsoever, despite the advertised. The room was located at the back of the hotel, far from the main entrance, having to pass through the breakfast room to get there. It faced the emergency exit of the nearby hospital, and since it was on the first floor, I could hardly sleep, because of the noise.
get waht you pay for, good value lights went in bathroom and the lift stopped working cause the cleaner got the hoover jammed in between shaft and the door,
Close to the airport. My flight cam in late and the hotel was easy to find with directions from the airport. Only stayed overnight. Room was Ok. Breakfast terrible. No real coffee or fruit juice.
lovely private balcony, decent breakfast selection internet wasn't working
The hotel was very convenient for all transport/s. Room small but adequate. Complimentary continental breakfast also adequate.
