The Residencial Afonso lll was a great place for us to stay as we were flying out of Faro at 6 am. It is a 2 min walk from the train station and seemed to be in a good location. Staff was fantastic and very eager to assist with directions, information etc. Rooms were small but comfortable. A very nice place, for the budget traveller.
Bathtub was permenantly stained where bathmat should be and bathroom could have been cleaner. I think it was more the appearance of being dirty (eg old grout, stained floor etc) than actual dirt.

The fact that the room had a patio, and the cleanliness
The room was extremely small, and had no view whatsoever, despite the advertised. The room was located at the back of the hotel, far from the main entrance, having to pass through the breakfast room to get there. It faced the emergency exit of the nearby hospital, and since it was on the first floor, I could hardly sleep, because of the noise.
