Have just flown home. The check out and in process was smooth but they did not look over the car when you take it or on return, they just advise you to take photos. Having just landed, I have received an email with a €750 charge for windscreen damage which was there when I took it (I have photos as advised). They have also charged for 1/2 a tank of fuel when I returned 3/4. It is going to be such a headache sorting it out. Really disappointed. Like a windscreen replacement even costs that much anyway!! Total rip off. AVOID

Random charge was added to my account from Record Go even though I paid for the service and insurance through Kayak. When I dropped off the car, I was told there would be no charge and that the contract was closed out. This is on top of the nearly $1,500 deposit that I had to put down while already having insurance through Kayak/Expedia.

Worst experience ever, worst customer cervice ever. I had to rent the car for someone else ! Don’t waist your money with this people please !

Felt they were trying to push the expensive insurance. Wish the industry charged more and didn't hide other costs. car had damage and felt they would have blamed me if I didn't take photos of the car before I left. Not a nice experience for the customer.

I liked that RecordGo were in the main airport terminal. The car was ready and reasonably new (around 20K km and with Apple CarPlay) and RecordGo said they were only interested in scratches of more than 4cm. No fuss, all worked well and I enjoyed several hundred trouble-free km in the vehicle. Drop-off at the end was equally easy.

Pros:

The car was nice and comfy

Cons:

The staff at the pick up location was a bit rude and couldn't help us when we wanted to change driver. Maybe it's not her fault but due to the software she was using, who knows.. but apparently she couldn't edit the main driver to be my wife, so we had to cancel the reservation and make a new one on the spot which turned out to be more expensive than what we reserved two days prior that day. I find it ridiculous that we, nor the rental office staff could edit the drivers info to change drivers.. And even more ridiculous that due to this issue we had to cancel our reservation and get a new one that turned out more expensive. Whether this is an issue with kayak or hertz, it is still kayak who wouldn't let me edit the driver though the app. Also as suggestion, you guys should change "Traveler" to "Driver" because travelers does not suggest that this will be the main driver, specially when there's usually more than one traveler

Pros:

The car was ok, standard conditions.

Cons:

The pick up was slow (we spent about 30 minutes to get the car) and the employee not very nice. She did not even know the promotions of his own company. About Hertz, the service was mediocre. it is already ridiculous that they pretend a credit card (you are renting a car not buying a house). But what is even worst is the fact that the credit card has to be the driver's. What is the logic behind this? The only logic I can see is getting more money from the client, since the additional driver costs about 15 euros p/day. There are many better companies than Hertz which allows to chose the driver independently from who has the credit card.

Pros:

Car was in good condition.

Cons:

Avis did not have the care we reserved in stock. Instead was given an SUV. The SUV was nice but gas is so expensive in Europe and this SUV was so bad on mileage that it basically cost an additional $50-75 for us to get to where we needed to go. Avis should offer replacement options with similar gas mileage.
