otustanding staff dedication and friendlyness pity there was no tea / coffee in room
The environment, a very good restaurant and the sphere was exellent
The location was excellent and the hotel full of character. The stairs were very steep and a problem for anyone with walking difficulties but the staff did assist with the luggage.
The hotel staff were very professional and pleasant. The restaurant was sophisticated and friendly. The town of Veere is a gem.
The rooms are very small and old furnished. They do not correspond to the pictures shown on the web site. Too expensive for the facilities provided.
the entire atmosphere, cosy, clean, elegant. Nice people, warm welcome. Excellent breakfast, excellent restaurant.
A lovely hotel in a lovely place, will visit again.
The town of Veere is quite pretty. The service was minimal (no room service). The staff was not friendly (diificult to get our baby's bottle filled with milk which they charged us for) and there was not enough food for all the guests for breakfast.
pleasent staff and good english language
Good location in the beautiful Veere Moderate cleanliness of the room, extremely noisy breakfast room, no possibility of having diner inside the restaurant, no airco in a deluxe room, poor sound isolation.
Great Hotel in convenient location, very modern rooms and interiors and not the often antiquatet dutch style, nice experience
The spacy/roomy setup, modern design, cosy diningroom, service in restaurant. Traffic noise, indoorswimmingpool a little small.
Hotel with Natural Allure, Spacious and comfortable room, Very pleasant! For the amount of stars this hotel has, the following services should be included :Wellness open at noon? too late! Should be open same time as breakfast. No wastebasket in room.No DVD & pay (new)movies?
Geographical situation, wellness center, personnel friendliness, decoration & equipment, spacious room and common areas Room could have been better prepared (1 child bed was not made), there was a little bit of dust and not enough towels for 4. Building architecture is not extremely appealing from the outside. This does not constitute a complaint, just remarks.
spaceous room at a fantastic location booked an apartment but disappointed to find that there's a kitchen without the necessary tools and inventory to make the stay complete as expected.couldnt even make our own breakfast if we wanted....
Excellent location for day trips with the car. Good and modern design of lobby and rooms. Quality of breakfast not matching standards of other hotels in this price category. Fair comments difficult because hotel relatively new and not everything ready (e.g. internet facilities)
The rooms, very big and nice decorated. The location near by the center of Middelburg. Ideal location to cycle to other cities and villages. N/A
Very friendly , confortable hotel with good selection of food.
We liked breakfast time, beds were comfortable. Nobody to help with the luggage on check in. Strange smell of carpets in corridors and no service of food or drink after 11pm.
New hotel with a particular design! I forgot something in the cabinet of my room, and after phoning, nobody even phoned me back to tell me if they found or not what I forgot!I definitely think that for a four star hotel it's more than cheap!!!!
We had the chance to be one of the first guests in the room, which added extra value to our stay. Everything was perfect, nice modern design... just the bathroom was an amazing experience! The breakfast buffet was rich and with a lot of choice. If any the location: in a newly built area close to a busy road (no noise disturbed us during the night) but still very close to the centre of Middelburg (10 minutes by bike).
hotel and the town are hundreds of years old, fabulous breakfast and so was the service .next to the hotel are several old homes converted to modern hotel rooms. no grocery stores in town you have to drive to middelburg. no
Very beautiful view from the window. Big rooms.
Everything! It was lovely. We stayed in room 4, the overhead tapping of feet from the restaurant was a little disturbing.
Very peacefull location. Nice for walks or bike tours. The breakfast was very nice in the tower with view to the water. Nice rooms. Free parking from November. The bells of the church that made a lot of noise, even during the night, waking me up every hour. In the evening you can't find anything open in this small village and you have to drive to a nearby village/town to have dinner/drinks.
The location is great and the interior decorating is brilliantly adapted not just to the old building but also to the surrodings. I hadn't reserved a table at the hotel because we wanted to take walk before dinner, i.e. we didn't want to sit down to dinner at a specific time but when we felt like it. However, when we asked about the possibility of having a table at the hotel restaurant we were turned down flat off, with no attempt to accomodate us despite the fact that we were staying there.
The room was pleasant, and the location was by the water in the beautiful village of Veere, which came across a bit like the Dutch version of The Hamptons. The restaurant was overpriced... the food was good but the portions small (smaller than at the very expensive restaurants that I have eaten at in places like Charleston, SC). The air of the restaurant was that of stuck-up old school money... sounds a little harsh, I know, but I feel I'm not exaggerating. The breakfast however was very good. As far as the room goes, I was slightly annoyed by a broken extractor fan in the bathroom. I felt it was good value for the special €75 rate I paid, but would not be very good value at the full price of around €150 (see current rates for accuracy).
The dining room was very historic and full of character. The bedroom was in an excellent outhouse
Its unique situation and charming rooms with view No
The location and the view from the hotel
nice building no VISA.....
Parking Place, location. 1. Bathroom was very small and without bath tub. 2. We asked the receptionist if we could have a bowl and a spoon in the room. She told us that she was not sure as she is not responsible for the kitchen stuff and we must personally pick ask the Restaurant people and pick up our self. Our expectation was that she would arrange a bowl and a spoon for us and bring us in the room. :-(((
Quality food, spacious rooms with balcony, quiet setting, friendly dining staff I think the comment about lumpy pilows was probably fair!
We stayed in one of the two luxury suites, and liked the large size of the bathroom, the swirl bath and the comfort of the bed. The attached verandah was also very welcome, as was the general tranquility of the area. We found the staff both attentive and friendly. We felt that the choices for evening meal were somewhat limited and overpriced, though the quality of the food was good. In the room, we would have liked there to have been a box of tissues available to complement the other toiletries provided.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. We liked the buffet breakfast. I know that the hotel mostly has Dutch and Germans staying, but it would be helpful to other nationalities if the menu was also in English.
Closeness to the shore / parking facilities / natural environment / nice building and airy look inside / wonderful breakfast buffet
Very pleasent staff all of whom spoke a number of differnt languages. They all seemed genuinely friendly to me and other guests
more than a positive surprise, excelent food ,and a helpful staff
Location and friendly atmosphere Instead of offering 10% discount for eating in the restaurant, it may be a better idea to offer a free drink on the house in the bar to encourage people to have another drink and perhaps stay on to eat in the restaurant.
Perfect localisation, very good and nice service. This was our second stay in Bos en Duin hotel and for sure not the last.
Everything in this hotel was good - we had a very good time. The ventilation in the bathroom could be better but the rest was perfect. The only negative point was the ventilation in the bathroom but the receptionist promissed to have it checked and also apologised for the inconvenience - definitely a place to go back to.
friendly helpful staff menu was a little limited for a long stay and only in dutch
Comfortable beds, friendly staff shower room small and poorly ventilented
close to town. excellent value for money and you would n ot go hungry with the breakfast no
Very, very long service at the restaurant... far too long actually Problem that rasor plug didn't work in the room. I think when that happens you should propose a slight reduction as it is not great shaving in the bedroom
the staff was very friendly and helpful. the complimentary breakfasts were delicious.the room was kept clean. no air conditioning. no bathtub, just a shower. no pool.
The weather was not great, so the particularly good restaurant was appreciated, given that the hotel was a good walk from the city centre. We have been used, when using booking.com, to being given one of the better rooms in the price range, at least for our first stay, and possibly because of this feedback feature. That was not the case this time. Our room was adequate, but a bit small, and located too close to the lobby, thus a bit noisy.
Very friendly hotel staff. Good breakfast.
Poorly trained restaurant staff. Basic level of room furnishing for a 4 star establishment.
friendly staff, good breakfast Ugly building
location room extremely small
The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Our room overlooked the river. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient and very welcoming. An extra bed in the room making use of the mirror and access to use my hairdryer difficult.
The location was convenient and the breakfast was outstanding! There is a pleasant outside patio with a lovely indoor seating area with an adequate bar. My room was rather small and the bathroom light did now work. Wireless is not free which is, of course, rather crooked. And in general the place feels quite cramped, especially when it comes to the thin spiral stair which I saw too many elderly guests climbing becaust the elevator seemed old and slow, and was also quite cramped. But to be fair, the majority of the disadvantages of this hotel are due to design issues beyond the control of the current staff. And for the price paid the hotel was very reasonable.
Nicely located on the border of the city center. Completely outdated rooms, unclear emergency exits, an elevator that is too small and a cramped breakfast room.
Nice location. A luxury room was reserved, but it's definitely not worth the money. The luxury room is certainly not worth its money.
the room was very small, poorly furnished and there was a dip in the floor where the floor boards were damaged
the room is ok and comfortable. the wall between the rooms are so thin. the TV did not work well because it is old.
The location which enabled us to visit with family members easily and also enabled easy access to and from the railway station. The staff were totally un-concerned that we had flown all night and would have liked a little earlier check-in time. 3pm and no allowance for any change. The room had walls so thin we could hear people snore and pass wind in the rooms beside us, not to mention every word of their conversations [we whispered to avoid them hearing us!]. The bed was so worn that we rolled into the middle. Aside from that, the breakfast is always generous and good and although the hotel requires a major update, it is clean.
Breakfast was something to look forward to. the hotel (rooms) needs serious maintenance; are very out-dated.
Nice old hotel - great location - friendly people
Nice garden and relax atmosphere.
Nice location, close to the beach (as for the "main house"), very green and calm area. Private rooms do not correspond to a 3 stars hotel (on the contrary, the main house seems to have rooms of this category)
The atmosphere and setting is wonderful plus the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We booked for this week to coincide with the Jazz Festival which was a perfect spot to combine that plus walking. Would make a great place to stay at any time of the year if you like to walk along the beach and/or forest plus some very pretty villages nearby. A full-length mirror in the bedroom would have been appreciated!
Birdsong in a quiet location. The website desciption is inaccurate. The hotel is much further from the beach than indicated (25 rather than 5 mins) and the restaurant only produced breakfast.working. There is private parking.
Quite, excellent located near the beach, friendly personal,. Room not very comfortable, old fashioned.
Very nice place with lovely garden. Guestouders taking care for their guests. Nearby the sea, place to relax in the middle of the forest.
Nice and quiet room, friendly staff. Breakfast a little too early.
The personnel was very nice and friendly The carpet of the room was not cleaned at all during our stay.
Good location but a bit pricey
Excellent, helpful and friendly staff. Good position but rooms a little tired.
Friendly staff. Good place to visit the city of Middelburg and the area of Zeeland.
Convenience. Breakfast included. Elevator. Daily cleaning was inadequte. General level of service was indifferent.
Very pleasant courtyard garden to have breakfast in
The location. It was quite dusty and the sheets were not really clean.
The friendliness of the staff Nothing
The central location and the friendliness and helpfulness of the young staff. My bed had crumbs on the box-spring from a previous occupant. The hallways are dimly lighted. Everything could use a fresh coat of light paint.
We stayed at the Hotel De Nieuwe Doelen while attending a family reunion in Middelburg. The staff was very accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the breakfasts were excellent. The location very close to the train station made for easy access to Amsterdam, Schiphol, and other cities. The only minor quibble I had with the room was the lack of soundproofing. I could hear any noises made outside my room quite clearly, but most guests were considerate in this regard.
Front desk people were very friendly and accomodating. It was a wonderful experience and a great place to stay when visiting the Delta Works and the lovely historic city centre.
This is an excellent hotel, our best in 4 weeks. Room was spacious and well appointed, great location and the manager pleasant and helpful. Wanted to take it with us.
The staff waas very friendly
The staff were fabulous. They were very welcoming, professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The room was fantastic with a great view, huge bed, and a huge TV flat screen. The room was great. The staff made our stay in Middleburg unforgettable. It was a perfect experience.
Rooms large and clean, excellent breakfast. Get beyond unimposing exterior for a comfortable stay. Approx 1.5 miles from centre. Ok if like us we like walking.
It was convenient to the further travel arrangements I then undertook. The surrounding area looked liked a building site.
Basic dinner menu but good portions and well presented food A little scruffy looking on the outside
Staff excellent, room pleasant and comfortable, meal in hotel was excellent
Hotel keys wich opened de outer doors even after closing time.
Free private parking, helpful staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. Not in centre of town but walkable distance (approx. 20min.)
It was good value for money. A clean and comfortable no frills hotel for a decent price. It is a bit of a walk (about 1/2 an hour) to the centre of town.
Quiet surroundings and friendly hotel staff
Staff very pleasant and helped us with taxi etc.Food good. Better than the impression utside.
Very helpfull staff
freedom to come and go Nothing at all
This was our third stay at Villa Magnolia this year. We find it very peaceful. The studio had everything we needed and was extremly clean and comfortable - hence the number of times we have stayed. I'm sure we will choose to stay at Villa Magnolia again.
Home away from home feeling. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Hotel had practical facilities such as coffee making, fridge for own use, small balcony/garden and excellent bicycle storage. Very clean. Room was perhaps getting a bit outdated though spacious. Sitting distance to be able to watch T.V. was too large.
My wife and I stayed in a studio appartment, which was very clean and comfortable. The hotel owner made us feel very welcome. . Bike hire is available from the hotel and the roads/cycle tracks are great in Holland. It's a good base from which to explore the area. We especially enjoyed our visit to Zierikzee, a pretty town which we entered after a drive over a 5km bridge! Families with young children would also enjoy it here, as the nearby beaches are great.
The main house was beautiful inside and out. The hotel had bikes to hire at a good price. The breakfast was excellent and there was both indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived at 8pm and were told we should have arrived by 6pm or rung ahead to say we would be later. We did not realise this as other hotels allow you to check-in anything after 2pm until about 10pm.
Beautiful quiet setting for the hotel, a very comfortable room, excellent breakfast in the orangerie, staff were friendly. I appreiciate that the majority of guests are german but it would have been useful to have more information in english.
beautiful setting and building
wonderful garden, quiet and peaceful, very good place for walking around, not far from the beach, large rooms with a fantastic view large room but unfortunately unkind and uncomfortable furnished, although the building itself is very stylish
The beautiful old Villa near the dutch shore offers a very nice stay. Every room has a small terrace or balcony so you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. The rooms are maybe a little bit too big.
the owners were really friendly, always willing to help with problems, good conversationalists, and really good hosts ! The food and drinks menus were really comprehensive and appetising, and the food menu items were good and were really well made The drinks menus - for the area a really large selection - to be recommended. We intend to go back there next time we want to go up to Zeeland. nothing, it was just what we needed, the peace and quietness for a chill-out.
Quite gentle hotel with kind people.Very clean single room Problem was the noise of the ventilation of the restaurant making much noise all night. Breakfast was also quite poor (expected with this low price)
the difference between the standard and luxury rooms was not fully stated
management & staff are customer-friendly, prices are ok, atmosphere is great, location perfect for discovering Zeeland ... i had nice meals too
