I called after my stay to find out why I was charged $18. I was called back by Daniel who was extremely rude and combative. He wouldn't even give me his last name when I asked. At check-in we were told to show the keycard upon exit for parking. When we parked in the structure, the sign said free parking for hotel patrons. Our room wasn't ready when we first arrived at 4 pm so we were told to wait in the lobby. When it was ready, we just went to the front of the line and were quickly handed 2 keycards since we already completed the check in process. I had paid more to specifically put 4 adults on the reservation but was only given 2 keycards. The next day of our stay I went back to ask for 2 more keycards so we can exit the parking structure. Apparently the reason for my additional charge was for those 2 extra keycards. Daniel was so irritated on the call and refused refund the additional bogus charge. We stay here all the time because it's centrally located w my friends, but I will be finding another hotel from now on.
A lot went wrong for our one night stay. The door lock didn't work on the original room given to us. Maintenance had to come up and change the battery in the lock. After we got settled in, we noticed a loud rumbling noise. We turned off everything-a/c & TV and it was still there. After 2 calls to the front desk, maintenance showed up again. Turns out it was a stairwell vent fan that was going bad and "my supervisor knows about it". They put us in a room next to the stairs with a known problem. Then, we had to argue with the front desk about changing rooms. The second room wasn't much better. Right above highway 101. The road noise penetrated the sliding glass door. At this price, I expect a quiet room. Would not stay here again.
Pros. Cleanliness, location
Cons. Check in took over an hour. Ocean view ended up being view of a freeway along with noise and a train.
Pros. Bed was horrible
Cons. Ordered a King Room with Ocean Views and instead was looking at the top of a roof with air conditioner units.
