The Hotel's location is perfect for site seeing within the city on foot, shopping and is close to several great restaurants.
good breakfast, helpful staff, clean rooms, etc. please note my address is: ashton keynes not keyners
Excellent location Very small room
we liked the location particularly, and the breakfast was also very good. our room was small but we had been told this on booking and as we were only there for a weekend it really didn't matter.
the comfortable room, bathroom cleanliness. on the first floor, you hear the street noise too much.
The location of hotel is so convenienet for the city tour and shopping. Also the garage facility is important for this city center although you have to pay it. The room we stayed is larger than our expectation of a 3 star hotel: It is difficult to find the hotel if you drive to, altohugh it is so close the center. It is better to recommend parking at a park next to Arena, and finding hotel to get a description of route as we did at the end.
Hotel very close to Ampitheatre and restaurants. Secure parking. Difficult to find, even my top of the line GPS couldn't do it. Had to enlist the services of a local on his bicyle, everything else good.
location, staff helped us find restaurants and could not do enough for us
classy accomodations and very friendly and helpful staff as well as excellent breakfasts
Verona is a fun place to walk around from this centrally located hotel. We had the large corner suite on floor 1 above the very cool bookshop. The decor could possibly do with a refresh. Initially our room was very hot and the heater controls seemed to be broken but we were able to open the large windows and soak in some of the surrounding bustle. The staff are efficient but not very warm. Free internet access is good, the breakfast is average. The hotel is obviously in an old building and the decor could do with a refresh but still keeping true to current old world charm
Great position close to all sites and shops of Verona. Very attentive friendly staff. Lovely bar and lounge areas Lack of natural light
Everyone was kind and helpful. I arrived early and they kept my luggage so that I could explore the city while my room was getting ready. They also offered for me to enjoy breakfast and a cafe even though I had not stayed there the night before. Lovely place and great location. It's on a main street, but the room was quiet. As a female solo traveler, I felt safe and content. Plus Verona is a beautiful city to explore. I also took a train for the day to Lago de Gardo 20 minutes away. Beautiful as well.
location, bathroom and breakfast difficult parking
The personell was excellent, very important. Cleanliness good. Location for shopping excellent No
Beautiful hotel in the heart of old town Verona. Rooms were luxiourious; breakfast items varied and plentiful Not a single complaint
Perfect location good rooms
The rooms were exceptionally well decorated with all possible comforts. It was quiet an relaxing and extremely beautiful the atmosphere was captivating and classy, the staff proficient, efficient and unobtrusive. I didn't like the view. The room was surrounded by construction works and this really spoiled the beauty.
I liked most the location, the helpful staff, and the quiet room.
The reception and dining room staff were courteous and helpful. We only stayed for two nights but were made to feel very welcome.
The hotel staff were very polite. I have asked for a smoking room and I got a non-smoking room.
A 5 star hotel in the city center! Beautiful old palace!
Impressive entrance and main lobby, one of a kind. Not appropriate breakfast room/feels really average to have breakfast there.... brakfast, small room
Location and service. Rooms need a face lift..... but service made up for it.
The hotel has a super location and the staff were very helpful.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, BUT lacks atmosphere due to it being so empty whilst there. I don't know the reason for this, but I wanted to eat in the great setting for a restaurant, but didn't see 1 person use it in the time we were there. The empty restaurant!
We stayed at the hotel for three nights with our two small children. The staff were very pleasant and provided anything required to make our stay comfortable. The food was good and the rooms exceptionally comfortable. we would recommend the hotel for a most enjoyable stay in beautiful Verona.
n/a No Air conditioning, extremely uncomfortable because of this.No food available on arrival in the afternoon.Would you like some toast sir!!! 5 Star hotel, definately not, needs new A/C UNIT fitting which works whether the weather outside is warm or not!!!!
Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful and they all spoke English! The food was great in the hotel and it was situated close to all the sights and shopping. Our room was excellent with beautiful furnishings and they gave us complimentary champagne and fruit for our anniversary! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The staff went out of their way to help me with every demand or question I had
The friendliness of the staff. No iron, no bottle of wine, flowers etc on arrival as stated in the literature. Air con did not work very well. The fact that Booking.com had not informed the hotel operator of our arrival.
Lovely rooms, excellent beds and bed linens perfect in town location, fantastic helpful staff. in room breakfast was a treat - they garaged our car in a close by secure garage . we very much enjoyed our stay. my kind of hotel. The zero cancellation refund policy is too restrictive and frankly unrealistic.
Courtesy of staff, nice room, great location Lack of any common facilities (understandable given size of hotel)
This hotel was all we hoped for - luxurious, in a perfect location, with attentive and helpful staff. The breakfast in the room was excellent. We would love to stay again.
Really unusual location right in the heart of Verona with the entrance in the corner of the courtyard of the Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's house). If you arrive in the daytime, you will need to fight through the crowd taking pictures of the famous balcony. Once inside, it is a haven of peace and calm. Beautifully appointed and with a wonderfully attentive staff. It's expensive but a great treat in the very heart of Verona.
The staff was very kind and the locations is very central.
Staff was wonderful room perfect location unbeatable. We loved our stay.
The helpful receptionist. Excellent central position with lively street view. Attractive furnishings and comfortable room. over complicated touch pad lighting system and room safe locking system.
very good location if you wish to explore the city by foot, spaciouse and comfortable rooms and ofcourse, the main reason, the unique and atractive location within the Romeo and Juliet court yard with all the visitors as the constant background for the price, a little upgrade to the amenities would be welcomed: an English channel on TV, upgrade to the breakfast, etc.
I really liked the hotel and will be going back there again. Very nice room/suite in probably the best location in Verona. Very helpful staff who were there when you needed them without being unduly solicitous. Room maintained to a very high standard. Good breakfasts. Couldn't tell from the info in the room or on the phone itself how to get room service but still managed to get early morning tea thanks to the really helpful staff.
I like the style of that hotel .It is an old charming hotel with stylish saloons and elegant rooms no
This is a beautiful hotel. It is in the best location in Verona. The service was impeccable and the staff was superb.
The attention to detail at the hotel, in the training of the staff, in the desing of the cooman areas and sleeping rooms, and in the elegant breakfast are first rate. The front desk sent us to a highly over-done and over-priced restaurant, representing it as "simple, but good." In 20+ trips to Italy, this was probably the least simple restaurant I have been in, and it was horribly over-priced.
Great boutique hotel in city center of Verona. Service and staff very helpful and always have a big smile. Rooms are quiet, clean, and nicely furnished
The hotel was really very charming and very comfortable. A little of the street noise from the location but well worth it to be in the heart of the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially thee waiters in the morning serving breakfast! We hope to be back to Hotel Gabbia D'Oro and will be recommending it to our friends. Can't think of anything we didn't like, wish we could have been there longer!
The location is excellent and the decor and facilities are extremely tasteful. The rooms have originality and character. The shower was difficult to use without having water all over the floor. The bed-side reading lights were unsatisfactory.
very nice and wonderful hotel
Excellent location, genuine and historical venue, great people, good quality-price relation If window opened at night it can be noisy
The location was absolutely perfect! Right in the center of the old town, with shops, restaurants and night life right outside the door. The staff was very friendly and eager to help out. Great stay - will defintely try to book again. Reaching downtown via car is a little tricky because of all the one way streets and pedestrian routes but worth it once you arrive at the destination.
Proximity to Arena and main tourist areas
position was great could walk to everything. Breakfast was great.
As a solo traveller and a female I did not like being placed in a room separate from the main hotel
The guys Jimmy and William from general services at the hotel area great! Very poor service at the reception. Reservation was not made properly and I had to be transferred to another hotel for 1 night. They have this "apartments"away from the hotel building that is not practical. Shuttle to take breakfast is ridiculous. I was not informed at the reservation.
The modern and renovated suites wrapped in ancient buildings. The umbrellas. Wi-fi access is still with user and psw.
Central location. Great breakfast.
Very good location in centre of Verona near main sites
Almost next-door to the Arena and within easy walking distance to the train station. Room in the new hotel building (separate from the Reception building) was comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would have appreciated a coffee/tea-maker in the room, but it's absence may be normal for 3-star hotels in Europe.
very good location:100 meters from the historical center and only 4 min by bus from the train station. the breakfast was continental, but rich and good quality.the room was not big but very nice and refurnished, the bathroom spacious and functional. Above all, the bed and the pillows were really nice and comfy. the price i paid at the time was ok, but i wouldn't pay the prices i see now.
The staff at reception spoke english and were helpful. Our room accommodated 4 people reasonably well for a European hotel and was comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a wide selection of drinks and food. The location was very close to the old town centre and thus tourist attractions were within walking distance. The hotel room had a great booklet that suggested suitable walking routes with historical information in several languages.
The location was perfect. The hotel can not offer much of a comfort though if you are in Verona for a few days it is a very good option.
location and helpful attentive staff
The vicinity of the center, cleanliness of our room, price of the hotel and the possibility of using private parking of the hotel
Very convenient location, comfortable, very good buffet breakfast by Italian standards. The rooms backing on to the laneway can get a lot of traffic noise.
I came to the hotel early but could check in anyway. Not very helpful when I wanted to know the times for the flightbuses from the trainstation.
The cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The friendly and professional service during breakfast. And a professional front desk team.
The location of this hotel is perfect for enjoying the historic center of Verona. The staff was very helpful.
very near the most interesting places
location is great, staff is very friendly and helpful -
the staff was very kind, the hotel was great, the room I stayed in was also great. The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to take a few walks in the old city. It was a bit expensive, but ok.
Excellent location (a little difficult to find by car due to one way streets but on foot very close to everything), very large and nice room Despite prominent signs everywhere regarding smoking being prohibited in the hotel, when someone smoked a cigar in the corridor outside our room and the smoke penetrated our room, the hotel staff at the Reception Desk were rude, unsympathetic and uninterested. A room of much lower standard was offered but no discount forthcoming. The only other offer made was to upgrade to a suite at greater cost
Cosy and comfortable room. No safe in the room.
The Staff Nothing
The staff and the location. My room on 1st floor seemed a bit dark.
Excellent hotel. Everything was new and clean.Extremely well locted and the empoyees were very nice!!!
I visited the horse show in Verona with my grand daughter and we spent a wonderful evening in Hotel Antica Porta Leona, it is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time (and I spend a lot of time in hotels around the world due to business), compliments to the owners and all the staff who were extremely helpful when my grand daughter left her teddy bear, which they kindly posted onto us, many thanks to them all. Nothing all wonderful
helpfull staff breakfast facilitys poor , no room service,no fridge in room.
Central location, very good for sights and shopping. Excellent buffet breakfast, very good service. Extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff spoke very good English and very helpful. None
The cleanliness and location of the hotel and the comfortable room and shower. At times one could hear conversations next door.
The location in the historic centre of the city was very convenient. Although the hotel has no car parking which makes things difficult if you arrive by car, the staff are very helpful to arrange free permits and move your car in the public parking spaces immediately adjacent to the entrance or to arrange off site garaging for a fee. Our room's windows were eight feet from the floor and so there was no view out.
The hotel was conveniently located, it was a nice size, it had good facilities including a gym and a spa, the rooms were modern and of a decent size, would be very happy to return. Nothing
Excellent location; nice rooms; good breakfast
Proximity to town centre garage was not very good and the man who moved the cars around was not very competent
Lots of power points and good strategic lighting. Trouble had been taken by the staff regarding our query about an elevator. Actually it was one of the most convenient rooms we have ever had.
There was car parking available. It was located in the right place. Ridiculously bad value for money. Surly reception staff. Inefficient breakfast staff. At breakfast, first in gets fed, but later on - tough.
Location within walking distance of main town Very noisy at night in the streets below
The location is strategic. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful especially the man who was on am duty on the 23.10.2010. ( His shift was over at about 8.30pm ). Sorry I didn't get his name. Nothing
We found the staff consistently helpful and pleasant. The location is great, and we were very happy with the Europa. No
We appreciated the hospitality, friendliness and help that this hotel's staff provided us during our stay.
It was in a great location in town. We had walking access to the sites we wanted to see.
excellent location, near the main square but in a quiet street no tea and coffee making facilities in the room
The staff was very helpful and everything was excellent.
The location of the hotel. Amazing bathrooms. Great design .Lovely shower with lots of room. Found the bedroom a bit small for three people. However we were only there for one night so the room was acceptable
Location, hotel staff No bar, rooms being renovated while I was there, noise from bathrooms above my room
The location of the hotel was excellent near the main tourist attractions and in the town centre. I was impressed by the hotel cleanliness. Nothing
The friendly and helpful staff
The location is absolutely outstanding. You can site see and shop right out your door, and return to your hotel a few times a day with ease. The staff was so nice! My room was over the front entrance, and I could hear all the hotel guests coming home after later dinners/nights out. A bit too much noise, but I'm sure there are other rooms without this problem.
The location was ideal. A fairly quiet street just of the city centre.
The hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff could speak english which was helpful to a non-italian speaker, but were willing to help me learn some italian also. I was traveling alone, so I was happy about the safety of the area and that there was 24 front desk staff. The buffet breakfast was very good. Eggs, meat, cheese, bread, fruit, cereal, juices etc. The wifi internet worked in my room and a computer was available in the lobby for guest use.
The location was perfect, just minutes away from the roman theater and close to shopping and restaurants.
The location is great! I walked to Juliet's balcony and the arena in less then10 minutes. Our room has stylishly decorated and spotless. The free breakfast had everything. You could have eggs done your way and fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc. the place is perfect
The hotel is in the city center and was a little bit noisy at night.
Helpful staff. Excellent room. Nice balcony at the back of the hotel overlooking a small park. Just 10 minutes walk from the station, the seafront and the shops. 15 minutes walk to the tourist area.
the location the bathroom
The location for hotel is perfect - near Arena and we could easily get to other places. There are many shops in nearest streets, also different restaurants, so you can choose from different.
Well positioned - excellent view from room to Piazza Bra and Roman Arena which are a few steps away - efficient if not especially warm customer service. Warm air heating of the room (October) has to be turned on by calling reception - no heating in bathroom - heated towel rail not working. Usual uninspiring Italian buffet breakfast - too much pastry not enough appetising choice of fruit or cereal.
Location, Friendly staff. A really nice Hotel to stay at No . lovely stay - too short
The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was very big.
Fantastic for location. shopping, eating out There is a bar opposite, noisy on a Friday and Saturday night. We didn't get to sleep until the early hours. Not good if you need an early start.
Everything is O.K.
Almost all, especialy the locathion.
best location No Ac no good licor poor bar
Good location, and good facilities generally. OK for one night Shower was small, would have prefered a bath. Was not given a non smoking room but the room was fresh. Breakfast room was very busy and crammed.
great location rooms very small in new wing
Bathroom presents instalation errors at the : toylette cover, shower position
the location was great, close to all shopping, big bathroom, and one of the best breakfasts! Everything was good
good locaion close to Juliet's grave. Easy walking distance to all of the sites. Parking wasn't easy.
We had a lovely stay at Hotel de Capuleti and would recommend it to anyone. The location is just around the corner from the arena yet far enough from all the main touristy stuff that you get the feeling you're experiencing the real Verona. Our first concierge was very friendly and helpful, even recommended a fabulous restuarant (suggest booking in advance if you can) and gave us tips on where to go for evening entertainment (for young couples, the bar 'Porta Nuova' - just around the corner, on Porta Nuova - is the best inner city bar we found with decent music and a good hype. Sadly no dance floors). We upgraded to the superior double (room 516) which has a terrace and cool wooden detail incl. wood beamed ceilings. Definitely recommended. Super comfortable bed too. The church next door has a beautiful sounding choir on Sunday mornings :) We checked out right on 11am (one too many cocktails the night prior) but breakfast was until 10:30 only. The woman on front desk went out of her way and arranged for us to take fresh coffee and croissants in the lobby instead, which was a really nice touch. (note, there's a cute little cafe right next door that does a fab HOT cappuccino). What else? The water pressure was great! The toilet was a bit hard to flush, and room 516 is actually on the 1st floor so you can hear everything going on in the lobby - and they can probably hear everything going on in your room! Don't let this deter you though - we had a great stay and would stay again if we ever go back to Verona.
Clean, nice and confirtable.Good for the city visiting.
Very clean and well located for the Arena. Room very small.
Staff assistance far above average room size, a bit small
It is a very modern hotel with top of the lines contents. It is walking distance from the city center. The breakfast is a real continental breakfast. Rooms are very quite and peaceful. The checkout time is 11 am. Usually it is 12 pm in most of the hotels.
the location is great just in the city, the room was big anc clean, just what you need.
