La Bonne Auberge is run by Jan who is the 'most perfect' host, the breakfasts were delicious, breads, jams, eggs, wonderful cheeses and a homemade dish of fromage blanc and chestnut, the best by far on our tour of France this year. Our accommodation was lovely and situated in the most wonderful setting in a beautiful garden filled with magnificent trees and flowers and with a view of boats sailing past on the river.
Splendid setting, fantastic views of the Seine. An absolutely perfect weekend. The owners treated us wonderfully. We were greated uopn our arrival and treated to a tour of the property and some refreshing cider. The owners even antecipated us wanting to go out for dinner and booked a table at a lovely restaurant in a town nearby. Delicious breakfast in the garden the following morning. We will definetely come back!
Friendly service. Good bed. No lift to the first floor.
Quiet location. Breakfast ok It is quite a problem that the hotel's restaurant is closed on Sunday (and Saturday) evenings as it is quite imposible to find a place in the neighbourhood to have dinner on Sunday evenings
Hotel is quite basic but rooms were very clean and comfortable, internet worked great, it was nice to be able to park right outside our room. We had two connecting rooms which were perfect for our family of five, good value. Location not great, close to a small town, but this was a stopover enroute to elsewhere so we didn't choose it for the location, only the proximity to the road we were travelling on - which it was very close to. Very easy to find. For the price we paid for two rooms we were very pleased with the hotel. It is basic but clean. It is definitely not a luxury hotel, but great for a stopover.
The staff were very helpful, good food & conveniantly situated for our trip
The room was very clean, and the restaurant stayed open to a very reasonable hour, serving very good food. We took a long time to find it. Road numbers appear to have changed, and did not coincide with our current road atlas of France.
very pleasant and welcoming staff. The area is very quiet and relaxing. we had difficulty finding a place to have dinner on a Sunday evening
Quiet hotel. Staff very friendly. Can't think of any bad points to add about this hotel.
Very friendly staff. Nice surroundings - large garden and very quiet, although I could hear the people in surrounding rooms. Tiny bathroom. Toilet didn't flush properly and ran constantly, shower was dirty. They did send someone to fix the toilet and it worked once, and then stopped working again. Really, really uncomfortable bed.
The food was very good and reasonably priced.thechoice of wine was good and again it was a fair price Uncarpeted corridor noisy. room very basic bedside tables would have been an improvement
good value, not a very nice location, food fair and service good rather dreary location
Very close to motorway and yet quiet. The heating had not been switched on in the room so it was cold when I arrived and took a while to get warmer.
Clean and cheap for a single traveller. Very convenient location at the intersection of the A13 and A28. Ideal stop-over when travelling from the Channel Tunnel to the South-West of France. Nothing
Restaurant and value for money
Meals were very good Nothing
Proximity to motorway
Easy to find, good buffet supper and breakfast Nothing
It was away from traffic sounds, very comfortable, and the restaurant had a wonderful buffet after a long day of sight seeing We would have enjoyed having a room with 2 double beds as we were traveling as a family
Easy of finding, excellent and helpful staff, good place to stop on a long journey when travelling further, restaurant was reasonable/good, all parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean, there is a large car park at the hotel, a local town is 5-10 minutes walk away where there are some good bars and restaurants if you want to use/visit them
Friendly helpful and cheerful staff. Free WiFi Hotel corridor doors were very noisy and needed oiling.
convenient just off motorway basic
Friendly staff, lovely village, fantastic restaurant only 200 meters away. Quiet place for a getaway. brand new furnishing.
Extreme courtesy of all the staff. Willingness of staff to accommodate changes to arrangements. Location in very pleasant countryside.
The overall experience is outstanding
It was the best and available hotel Car parking is not convenient, maintenance glitches in the room, light bulb, bath tub not emptying, shower hanging loose, can't fix its position. At time of making reservation it is not clear that the rooms are in various houses on the premises. No restaurant.
The setting is tranquil and the village is very picturesque. The hotel is rather expensive: it has no restaurant, a very limited bar facility, no safe parking. The room we were shown into on arrival had not been serviced. The young assistant was confused. We were upgraded. I am not sure how easily the situation would have been resolved had I not been fluent in french.
The ambience was peaceful, rural, luxurious. We were to have stayed in the room called "Paris" but the aircon did not work, so we were upgraded to "New York." We did not ask for this, the concierge insisted. Both rooms were lovely, "New York" was especially luxurious. We enjoyed the terrace with its loungers and the jacuzzi and the decor. Although evening meal was not on offer, it was only a short and pleasant walk to a good restaurant, booked for us by the hotel. When paying the bill, we realised that it was a good idea to take a print-out of one's booking. We had a bargain! I was unjustifiably concerned that as the car park was not visible from the hotel, it was vulnerable. But the village of Jumieges is not like that, I am sure!
luxurious room and nice surroundings
I loved the room they all have a theme. The hotel is very pretty. Staff is friendly. Pity there is now restaurant. The breakfast is ok but expensive. If you ad the breakfast for two people and the room price it is a little over the top.
Peaceful and in the real french countryside.
The tranquility, the swimming pool, There was a dog in the neighbouring garden which barked all afternoon when we first arrived. The breakfast was rather expensive
perfect ambiance, perfect service and perfect food
Astonishing old manor house in a beautiful garden. Charming room, comfortable bed, absolutely silent - we really slept well here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit too expensive as there was nothing special about it.
The hotel, room and food were fabulous and sited well for the surrounding area. Although we considered we had excellent value for money it seemed that our 'package price' for half board (3 nights), through booking.com, was actually the room only price, the hotel did however honour our package price. The hotel would have been very expensive if a package price had not been available.
We thought the meals were excellent. The Hotel had an indoor and outside pool which was nice for our children.
Excellent service when we had a difficult booking experience. Friendly and attentive staff The hotel is a little tired and could do with some painting and updating in the social areas.
Though it is a lovely hotel and the staff were very helpful, our stay was spoilt by the fact that a film shoot that was being done there had overrun. This meant we could not check in on time and parking was very awkward. The clean up from the shoot was still underway when we had breakfast the next morning and then left.We had not received any notice of this situation. However we were given an upgrade and a very modest price reduction for the inconvenience.
The care and attention given by all the staff was exceptionally good. We were supposed to be staying in an attic room but as soon as we walked in ,Madame noticed that my husband is tall so she upgraded us. We stayed for 4 nights and slept in 3 different rooms and the staff moved all our belongings and clothes for us, so it was no trouble to us. All rooms lovely. The food was also really good
Food not very good. Quite expensive @ £90
The location just off the Toll Road was good ,the Town quiet, parking provided and the food and service excellent.
Friendly staff and happy to arrange a travel cot for the bedroom No air-con which makes the rooms very hot in summer months. Bathroom very dated.
Welcoming staff; pleasant surroundings; delightful dining room Although food delicious perhaps rather overpriced
Clean, quiet room. Very pleasant staff. The food was good but the menu was somewhat restricted and fairly expensive. Least expensive menu was 55euros which did not compare favourably with prices we had been paying elsewhere during our month's sojourn.
Good sized room. The restaurant was too expensive and the food somewhat pretentious. 35 euros was more than we would wish to pay for a main course. 95 euros for three courses is too much. The 29 euro menu was better value but here could have been more choice.Position of the hotel is not very appealing and the parking facilities limited.
Location, Hospitality of owners and quality of food Dated bedroom decor and inadequate shower in the bathroom
Very friendly, warm welcome on arrival. Accomodation full of character in lovely countryside. The owners were very helpful giving lots of information on local places of interest for us to visit. None.
Excellent service - Stayed overnight on the way to Calais with Family. We checked in late and requested an early breakfast. Breakfast was therefore provided in our room and was excellent. The room actually turned out to be a small gite with 2 bedrooms, lounge/diner & kitchen etc, with a rural outlook onto a farm. Would highly recommend for anyone travelling with a young family - Watch out for the turkey though!!!!!
Very quiet setting. Owners of the inn asked if we'd like to stay for dinner for 20 Euros a person. Good meal and good value. Owner ate with us, as did others who were staying for the night. Very cute cottage with two separate bedrooms and a futon that comfortably slept 6 people. Cozy setting. Glad we stayed here. A really intimate feel.
The courtesy and warmth of the owners, the food, both at breakfast and dinner (when possible), the quietness of the location, the size of the family suite.
Very good breakfasts and a very nice dinner for additional payment. Very friendly owners. Excellent environment - clean air and picturesgue surroundings in a village style. Interesting room decoration. Maybe, it would be better to improve a little heating system in a room. It was a bit unusual to do everything very quickly not to be frozen in the evenings.:)))
The family atmosphere our hosts created amongst the international guests at meal times was a delight and the quality of the breakfast and dinner menus was outstanding.
This second visit to La Ferme Saint Nicolas was as good as the first if not better as we had superb dinners in the evening this time. Our hosts were charming and friendly.
Much has been said about the breakfast, and it is all true! We didn't try the evening dinners, but heard very positive things about that from other guests as well. The location is quiet and very nice with the animals on the grounds of the farm. Nice places like Etretat and Honfleur are within easy reach, and other places like Le Mont St Michel are just a 2 hour drive away. The room was simple, but the bed very comfortable. The owners do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant one.
The owners were very welcoming, friendly and provided lots of advice about local attractions. Table d'hote meals were very enjoyable and gave the opportunity to engage with the other guests, and sample the local cider, calvados and cheese.
The hospitality and friendliness of the owners was great and the fact that English was spoken if necessary was extremely useful. The accommadation clean, comfortable and unique. As a centre to explore the area this hotel is in a great position for both countryside and seaside.
clean, quiet and polite friendly staff. The restaurant is closed during August to "solo" visitors as the hotel and facilities are taken over by coaches and tourist groups. The web site should have known this.Price was a little high without B/fst.
Good reception service Restaurants and Bars Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 10:00. Dinner is served from 19:30 until 21:00. is the description included on the web site. This is not the case and we booked specifically to avail ourselves of this facility.
The pleasant welcome we received from your staff. The room smelt of smoke when we arrived. I realise this is as much a problem of your other guests.
Comfortable, friendly, excellent breakfast. Restaurant closed on a Weds and long drive to nearest one. No tea/coffee in room
Wonderful comfortable beds. Friendly welcome.
Easy to find, convenient stopover. Comfy, clean, just what we wanted.
Noisy exhaust fan in bathroom.
Given we were only staying one night, the helpful and pleasant attitude of the staff and the excellent self-service breakfast
We messed up our booking and the staff were very accomodating Not very comfortable
Easy to find. Clean. Pleasant staff. Very uncomfortable beds. Didn't seem to be much for breakfast - there were 5 of us and we paid 40 euros for a roll and drink each.
The breakfast was very good indeed It was like a motel. No-one was in on the day we arrived, and we had to use a previously emailed code on an entrance door combination lock. Our keys were left out on the reception desk, and we saw no staff at all until breakfast the following day. The restaurant was advertised as of high quality, and this contributed to our choice of hotel. However, the restaurant was closed, even though menus were visible at the entrance gateway and within the hotel itself. We had to go to a local creperie to have a less than satisfactory meal, and this was a very disappointing outcome. The rooms were adequate only, and the overall cost was equal to that paid in Bayeux the previous night in the Novotel Hotel, which was luxurious by comparison.
Large confortable room and very quiet None
nice place overall, pretty hotel, not far from seine, etretat and seine-maritime tourist spots. good breakfast. watch out when wind turns - refinery fumes rather ruin the ambience. gravenchon has very little to do wrt food, bars etc.
good breakfast - pity it's not included though - clean rooms - good location for seeing the seine valley, upper normandy and the odd trip to rouen. premier rooms are pricey - oil refinery is a bit of a surprise and a bit noisy at night despite being quite a way off. not much wrong with the place though.
Good sized room; pleasant immediate surroundings The restaurant was closed during our visit (no advance warning given) The proximity of a large oil refinery would have put us off if we had known about it, although it had no impact on the hotel or our stay
Cleanliness Basic bordering on frugal. Food was below average, certainly not gourmet.
breakfast no evening meals even though we requested them in our booking, restaraunt closed sat&sun
Very pleasant, good breakfast, beautifull surroundings,
Excellent visit, comfortable and quiet with excellent attention to detail .Access to some rooms would be a problem for anyone woith a walking disability.Food excellent but breakfast overpriced and not integral in the price
Totally rip-off from the restaurant to the rooms. Don't stay here! Everything.
the most beautiful location and reasonably close to Calais to represent a suitable alternative for a stop over prior to sailing. Good food and friendly staff mean that the stay was very enjoyable Beware the prices of drinks - we paid 24 euro for two kir royal and 5 euro for a bottle of water!
Location at covenient distance from channel ports and ideal stop off in interesting village Hotel staff friendliness disappointing. Restaurant very disappointing and not good value.
the steak was impossibly tough and no compensation or regret was offered
Three adults travelling together- booked 2 twins and were given adjoining rooms in a "family" set up which meant that we shared toilet facilities that were cramped and not at all private. One of the twins had no curtains, therefore no privacy. Too hot- no air con/fan. We complained and received a 35 euro refund. Restaurant meal: wine list did not contain a price for bottles. The two that we ordered were both over 35 euros- incredibly expensive.
Very friendy and welcoming, good normandie food.
Situation of the Auberge was excellent, Overpriced for the service. Food was even more overpriced, I do not mind paying for good food, but this was not very good at all. Also charged 12 euros for a jack russel to stay in the room !
Happily accomodated our late arrival and dinner at 21:00. Peaceful location in a picturesque village. Room 110 in the attric had a bath / shower fitted under a sloping roof that was uncomfortable to use; more elderly people would have had great diffuculty in using it.
A clean, comfortable hotel offering very good value for money. The breakfast which cost 9 Euros was also well worth the money. Excellent views of the Seine from rooms at the front of the building.
Location, Good restaurant with good service, 24 hour access The decor was a little shabby
Early morning receptionist very stand offish. The others we met were fine. Compared to hotels in Gt Britain the room facilities were poor. The wash basin was cracked and chipped
Convenient location between Le Havre and Rouen. Overlooking the Seine. Excellent restaurant. The tour boats which overnight at Caudebec are noisy (engine noise) during the night. They moor very close to the hotel.
Very comfortable. Good setting and a relaxing overnight stop on our drive from Calais to southern Brittany.
The receptionist was very nice and helpful. And she has a very good english. I recommend this hotel.
The position of the hotel overlooking the Seine. The fact that it was central to the town which was interesting to explore. Did not dine there because the published menu was not appealing and seemed very expensive.
A clean comfortable hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Even with our limited French there was never a problem in communication with the staff. The food was magnificent! Unfortunately we did not know in advance about the Music Festival that takes place on 21 June each year in Caudebec en Caux. Very loud and very busy. It did however finish promptly at 00.30 and we were able to sleep afterwards.
Easy to find, excellant location, good value. Unable to pay by credit card, therfore I had to pay by cash.
Close to the main road. expensive restaurent decoration work started at 8.00 am already
Excellent room with a view of the Seine; very friendly staff;a good sized car park. Restaurant was closed on the Monday we visited with no restaurants close by so had to drive for dinner.
The staff were all efficient and the proprietix really friendly and helpful. Whilst a bit basic it was very clean and not bad for a 2 star hotel. Fridge in the bedroom and decent tv but no air-con.Excellent French food in the restaurant but pricey if you didnt stick to the set menu which had limited choices. Lots of local French people eating there which usually says something about the quality of food. I found it relaxed and friendly and I enjoyed my stay. Continental breakfast only but beautifully presented. When you arrive, it really doesnt look good at all from the outside but is so much better inside.
WiFi in whole hotel, free parking, restaurant in hotel. None
