The peace and quiet, the very firendly staff and the beaty surrounding all the Hotel. A must see! The wireless if free but is not very quick or steady. Cell phone network is not abundant. Its not a negative point but if you have to be reachable via phone or net, connection is very limited.
Great hotel to see the surrounding wine area. Calm and relaxed atmosphere, great pool area in summertime, excellent food, warm service.
We were happy to chill out and relax, Sophia did try very hard to make our stay enjoyable and many thanks to her. All the staff were very nice we were the only guests staying on the first night and the restaurant was not open, the nearest restaurant open was 27 k. Sophia managed to put together a dinner. The isolation of the hotel was quite a shock to us. Also the Douro boat trip was only on Saturdays from Casas DO Coro.
the pool and the village I hated the fact that they permit the entrance of guests at the hotel for using the pool. The people were so noisy and dind't know how to behave in a smal and quite hotel. And after complaint to the staff they didnt do anything, just justify the fact as not regular, but it happened in the 2 day i stayed there. They shouldn't permit that, we are paying to be in a quite hotel, just relaxing, and not being always annoyed with rude children. They shoul at least offered a discount for this trouble.
Incridible place, very very cozy hotel, suberb decoration and confort, magnific place and village! the restaurant very close to a 2 or 3 stars michelin, personal perfect, really one of the best places we stay. Nothing, all is perfect and the owners very charming with us, congratulations!
Very old and uncomfortable furniture. Stupid design of overly large faucet over very small wash basin made its use very inconvenient. No warning of need to climb 3 floors to room when I have disability.
A lovely small tourist hotel with only a few rooms. Takes you back in time. You feel like you are walking around a museum with all the old furniture and fittings. Lovely place to stay. Liked the hotel a lot though not easy to find. Poor street name markings. Aim for the old church and its just off the square. Very isolated, not sure who it is trying to attract, but a great find for us.
Beautiful, stylish interior, a touch of luxury, great location, very helpful staff Ideally, the staff could speak English...
Very very helpful host who gave us excellent advise on restaurant and sightseeing locations. Figueira De Castelo Rodrigo is over 4 km from Castelo Rodrigo. The town is 100% residential with no facilities (E.G. store or restaurant) at all. There is no separate private sitting room and guest sitting room. It is like staying at your cousin's house with 2 young kids. We expected some outdoor sitting area to relax in the evening. There isn't one.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice and comfortable rooms with Heating and A/C. The region where the hotel is located is amazing. There're stunning views close by (Coa River or St. Andre for instance). If you like to hike, there are amazing trails in the region.
The surroundings, the perfectly restored quinta, the marvellous sight on the river valley, the very nice Portugese breakfast, the eagerness of the owner to give information, This is not a hotel but rather a guesthouse or a BB; nothing wrong with this but when you book a hotel you don't expect a room in a house where the family lives.
