The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathrooms. n/a
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, it overlooked the lake and castle.
The situation of the Hotel is excellent with views and lake and castle from the front. There was lots to do in the surrounding area. The Castle is well worth a visit, as is the site of the signing of the armistice a short drive away. The welcome was less than effusive. The rooms were adequate but basic. The room tab system was chaotic. Check the bill carefully to make sure that you haven't been charged for meals and drinks you haven't had. The restaurant food was poor and overpriced. The villagewas very touristy during the daytime.
Very clean room, mattress with good support (not self-evident in French hotel rooms in my experience), a magnificient view of the castle from the room, several small cafe around the lake (which is 10m from the hotel) to spend the evening.
Hotel was clean, our room was clean/tidy and the bathroom obviously fairly recently been refurbished, shower was excellant and the added addition of the hairdryer was a bonus, however it may be an idea to add this to the room specification, as this is something we look for when booking a hotel usually. the view from mroom 321 was great
Superb service, the host could not have been more helpful. Stunning view from hotel window of castle and lake. Excelent value for money ensuite rather cramped. Let them know in advance if a guest has mobility probems.
Perfect location with a lovely view of the castle and the lake. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and appeared to have been recently redone. The wifi worked without any problems. We had no problems with public parking across the street from the hotel (November 1st). The downside of having a room with a view of the castle is that it is on the street side and it is a little noisy, but in no way a deal breaker.
The room was big and has had a convenient bathroom. Nothing
i had booked 2 double rooms and before i went there i tried to change one for a single room as one of the people could not travel and they said they had none, but when we were checking in another couple came in looking for a room and the girl at receptionist said they only had a single. my mum ended up paying for a double room and my 2 friends ended up staying in a double room.
The hotel was very clean and well presented. The rooms on the front have a great view of the Castle and lake. The two rooms my daughter and I were given were large enough, but would have been very crowded if two people were occupying each of them. The shower cubicle was the smallest I have ever stepped into in many years of travelling. Any movement to soap yourself made your body push off the water tap. The receptionist gave us the wrong key code for the front door, therefore, when we returned at 10.30pm, we could not get in. The bell for assistance had been turned off and, had we not been lucky enough to be around when other guests with the correct code arrived, well, I hate to think what we would have done.
Value. Very difficult to find.
dirty, broken third bed in a family roon forcincung 3 to sleep in a double bed... even though we made the reservation 3 months earlier... uncompetant staff.
Just think that compared to other hotels it is very expensive for very basic accommodation.
Difficult to find, situated on an industrial estate out of the town. Soul- less. Were it not for the air-conditioning we would have checked out.
Food in restaurant okay 2 main complaints - room had a very strong stale odour that would not go (damp or urine). Bathroom was unclean and inadequate.
We stayed there en route to south of France, so did not really see the town. There was a nice restaurant close to the hotel which we used. It was very basic, but clean and the breakfast was good. No frills but a good place to stay the night on the way to the South.
We arrived at 6.15am in the morning after a wedding to takes the 3 rooms we had booked. But impossible to get into the rooms before 7.10 because the machine outside was out of order + none at the reception before 7am. It's purely and simply unacceptable even for low prices ! + Staff not very polite as we had to leave the room. I think they should keep in mind we're still customers even wheb we're 10 minutes late to leave the room. It's not acceptable once again.
We were there to go to the Memorial Day Celebration at Belleau Wood.
Good location. Ideal for a single night stopover. No soap in the dispenser. Hot tap in basin did not work. Shower room door did not close. No time to register formal complaint and language barrier would have been a problem.
Clean, good internet connection. Small bathroom, rough towels.
did not like staying in a cupboard for a room, look at premier inns in britain they are half the price and better rooms. the size of room and bathroom, too small for a family, also the smell from the bathroom
convenience of location ideal for our needs hair in bed sheets, toilet & washbasin badly stained, bathroom had unpleasant odour, noise from other rooms clearly audible, secure parking gate not closed as advertised.
It was nicely situated and easy to find. It is just very difficult to sleep as it was very noisy.
Well set up, excellent location, easy to find The bunk bed, this was advertised as a room for 3 people, it should be explained that the bunk is only suitable for children.
It was comfortable, clean and in pleasant surroundings. The man on reception was helpful. I had no information in advance that the reception was closed in the afternoon. Similarly there was no evening meal available, and this was not made clear in advance. I feel that the hotel is in need of more modern decoration to attract visitors.
the hotel was very clean and rooms were great for a very good price tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom
Easy to locate and good value for money rooms. Noise from above - may influence whether we stay again.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff and in a very good location. It was also very easy to find
Friendly efficient staff, some very good english spoken. Quiet location .Small but adequate comfy room. Good security using keypad system on main gate and hotel front door.Easy to find signed from route N2 Restaurant closed FRI SAT SUN evenings Alternative some distance into town center Limited Public transport did not use car due to Drink Drive brought in cold snack for evening meal
The location was reasonable and the security seemed quite good. The room was what we expected. It was a pity the restaurant was closed.
A lovely charming hotel with a friendly owner who makes you feel most welcome. The town is just beautiful, with many excellent restaurants close by and gives you a great experience of 'rural France' if you are limited for time.
the friendly and helpful staff, great place to stay
The proprieter was charming and multi-lingual and his attention to our needs as a family was faultless. The room was large and comfortable with lots of character, which reflected the hotel as a whole.
Excellent family suite-spacious and well appointed. Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Charming courtyard, comfortable room, good location, courteous and helpful owner. Breakfast was minimal.
Everything - a simply lovely hotel. No!
The picturesque location (small town, old redone building)
Spacious character bedroom, four poster bed, and super new bathroom.Secure parking in courtyard. Reception only in attendance after 5.00pm and in morning.Very helpful though.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Central location made it easy to walk anywhere. Lovely situation. Breaksfast was a bit skimpy.
Great location at the center of Villers-Cotterets. Free parking in the courtyard. Very friendly French/ English/ German speaking staff aiming to make you feel welcome and sharing the history of the region. Clean, functional rooms. Very nice overall atmosphere. Good breakfast for French standards. Good value for money! Beware of the attic rooms in August ... Il fait chaud!
