Pros: The place was very charming, decorated with a lot of taste. The lady was very friendly. She cooked us breakfast including freshly squeezed orange juice, home baked croissant and bread, she bought especially gluten free products to suit my gluten free diet. It is also very close to the castle of pierrefonds which we visited
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about the room and hotel over all - the Jules Verne theme of the room was fun, comfortable beds, great breeze from all the windows we kept open, ample bathroom, delicious breakfast in the charming breakfast room, great common area to relax, a scenic courtyard. The hotel is really close to Chateau de Pierrefonds and several restaurants and pastry shops, short walks to all, as well as to the Forest of Compiègne. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

The room was superb, so contemporary, beautifully decorated and all the facilities were top quality. We had a packet of home made bsicuits and tea and coffee making faclities. Access to a guest lounge and kitchen. Room overloooked castle walls. The parking was perfect. Breakfast home made and just lovely. The owner is a super host deserves 10 plus. Thank you so much .

Pros: This was a wonderful B&B! The location outside Soissons was perfect for us. We had a car and all the sites of interest to us i.e. Gothic and Romanesque cathedrals and churches, and WWI battle sites etc. were within easy driving range. In addition, there were numerous walking trails in this area. The setting of this moulin was lovely.. our host had a horse and two lambs grazing for us to view out our window. The room we had was spacious; the breakfast superb. The main high point among all these positives was the helpfulness and friendliness of our host Philippe. He spoke excellent English too which was a definite plus. We stayed one week....we highly recommend it!!

Pros: The owners were away but Cecile made us very welcome - her English is better than our French! The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent - great bread and croissants with yoghurt, juice, ham and cheese.
Cons: A minor quibble was that some of the room facilities looked great (eg the basin ) and were very stylish but were less practical to use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, ambiance!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location. Copious breakfast to French standards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The home-made jams and garden honey were amazing. The owners are so passionate about their environment and guest experience it is impossible not to want to make an immediate return booking.
Cons: Nothing, but clearer signage from town and at the gate would have been helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is absolutely unique, exactly what I was searching to celebrate my birthday! The surroundings is full of interesting places, the breakfast is fully homemade, just lovely!
Cons: The toilet is not completely isolated so it can be not totally comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, total silence, very clean, very friendly, unusual concept hotel but like being ar home.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly they could not do enough for us. Would definitely recommend if you are ever in this very beautiful part of France
Cons: The only thing we were not terribly keen on was the toilet in the bedroom and only a curtain between the toilet and everyone in the room, otherwise it was beautiful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Madame Joanna, was very welcoming, informal and quite charming. The garden was lovely and was obviously loved and breakfast was first class. All together an unexpected and pleasant experience.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous place and host. Comfiest bed in Europe!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The manoir itself was incredible. It was like being transported to a different era. Beautiful place, beautiful gardens and the room was huge and nicely decorated. The manoir was in a perfect location for what we wanted to see and our host was very friendly and informative. A pity our stay was so short.
Cons: We didn't enjoy the shower.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Building was beautiful but the property is not looked after
Cons: In all the places I have stayed over the years I have never experienced such a breakfast. Literally 1.5 slices of bread, 1 cup of coffee, 1 glass of juice. That’s it. The absolute bare minimum. No croissants no baguette no second cup of coffee. We had to drive 15 minutes to get to the nearest restaurant for dinner. The bath/shower was so old and stained that we actually skipped it, disgusting
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful large room and facilites in a unique property with very generous hosts. The hosts arranged a dinner reservation for us at a nearby restaurant. Breakfast was exceptionally good.
Cons: All it needs is a sign at the front gate to confirm you have found the correct property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and happy to tell us about the history of the property and surrounding area. They recommended several local restaurants for dinner and even called and made a reservation for us. The gardens were really fun to wander in and well cared for. Our room was large and I appreciated the paintings and tapestries that added to the "castle" feel.

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location. Stunning chateau nearby in pretty town with good facilities and restaurant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near perfection ! Beautiful property with history (stables visited by Emperess Eugenie...), transformed with good taste into welcoming and comfortable guest rooms and apartments (Gites). We enjoyed : the cleanliness/neatness, the style, the quietness, the countryside (a large garden and surrounding forest, though it is not isolated), the location (very convenient with a car for Armistice memorial, Compiegne and palace, PierreFonds and castle, forest and lakes etc.), the large parking space, and the warm welcome by the owner keen to make guests feel at home, to help with discovery of the area. (i almost forgot : breakfast ++ ! ) [we were in a guest room, not an apartment]
Cons: Only one regret : check-in 5-7PM /check-out 11AM. Leaves little time to enjoy the property for an overnight stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms we very nice, extremely clean. The hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and garden. Enough space to walk with the dog in the wood. Nice village and very quiet. Good fresh breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is lovely, quiet, surrounded by forests; rooms are beautifully decorated. The hosts gave us excellent recommendations for lunch and visiting nearby sights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, atmosphere, decoration, staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place to stay. The host was very nice and hospitable. We would recommend this B&B
7.5 Good
Pros: check in / check out very easy ; host very friendly despite my poor french , very talkative and put us on a good foot for what to do around, which is not to be underestimated; Pierrefonds is a very nice town and there is a very nice castle, 10minutes drive from the hotel; zone is very quiet and pleasant to wake up in the morning and go to sleep in the evening;
Cons: Rooms were poorly illuminated, using a low intensity light LED . Bathroom door was about to fall down ( or at least that was the impression ) , sofa very small for a family . There was not much to do in the hotel , a very unstable swing was al there is. Breakfast was very nicely presented, but the content very poor : just bread , butter , jam and fruityogurt, chocomilk : not the braekfast I would expect for the price of the room, but at least the bread was warm.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room and bathroom, very comfortable bed and lovely breakfast room
Cons: The check in is very limited so you have to get there at a specific time

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning premises and decor. Fascinating history.
Cons: Less bread / bakery eg fruit for breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the owners. We liked the bathroom even though it wasn’t en-suite. The bedroom was a lovely room with triple aspect and a stone balcony with 2 chairs & table. The bed was very comfy.
Cons: However, the bedroom only had one bedside table & one lamp, so two people could not read in bed. Other than this one lamp there was an overhead chandelier that switched off at the door. There was no TV.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful little chateau with period furniture in a peaceful location with secure parking.
Cons: Impossible wifi code meant that we could not get logged on and the owner could not help with this process any further than pointing at the 20 odd character login password. Why does a remote property like this need a complicated wifi code? The wifi is needed as there is limited reception at the property due to its remote location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming place to stay, with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom (private, though it is across the hall) and a beautiful old home. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of special breads - and excellent orange juice. The hosts were warm and welcoming, even with our very poor French! The garden and grounds were lovely - adjacent to an old castle.
Cons: We were unable to access the wi-fi.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the lovely hosts, the room, and the castle about 50 feet from the house.
Cons: It would be nice to have an en suite bathroom.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts and a peaceful location, rich in history. There was some work going on to restore more guest rooms, not a big deal though, we were very comfortable. I expect room rates will soon rise once word gets out about this wonderful retreat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We took a 2 bedroom suite with a shared bathroom between the two, The bathroom was amazing - 5 star quality, Beds and linen impeccable and all rooms beautifully appointed with lovely extra touches. We placed a last minute booking and the welcome and care of the host and hostess made us feel welcome and at home, Exceptional experience and wish we could have spent longer in this lovely chateau with such warm and welcoming host's, Highly recommended and astoundingly good value, We will be back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, peaceful surroundings, welcoming owners, fabulous bathroom, great pool, comfy beds.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great French Breakfast, wonderful location, peace, quiet and a sense of history, Made very welcome.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A lovely house in the grounds of an old manor on the far outskirts of the village - keep going uphill and it's on your right. The B&B is run by an elderly couple, who were charming, friendly, and interesting, and Madame was happy to book a restaurant for us in nearby Soissons. She spoke French clearly and fairly slowly, which was a great help for conversation, though she did have a little English. We stayed in early November and the house was comfortably warm. Our room and bed were comfortable, and bathrobes were provided. The shower-room for our room was across the corridor, but the shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water - once I had worked out how to get water out of the hand-held part of the shower! Unfortunately I was suddenly drenched while fiddling with the controls, ending up having to wash my hair as well, which had not been my plan! Instructions would be helpful! The towels were big and soft, which is always good. Breakfast was copious: freshly squeezed orange juice, good coffee, warm flakey croissants, all delicious, plus many different breads and jams, cheeses and meats. It should be noted that electric points were 'old French', which could possibly be a problem if you have mobile devices which need recharging.
Cons: Would have preferred en-suite facilities, but this is a unique property which doesn't lend itself to such, and the fittings are certainly modern.

Pros: What a place! what a family! Wonderful place to reduce big city stress and join the nature. You will find everything you need. They even have a super Porsche tractor from 1960s (hope they will restore it and place in the middle of the yard:) ) Definitely will stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sensational, well equipped house with massive lounge room, dining room and great outside terrace. Bedrooms well appointed. Fantastic hosts made our stay extra special.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Well I never gave feedback up tot today on my overnight stays but this time it is worth it. My idea was to stay ca. 1 hour outside Paris and have a quite place to prepare my next day business trip. Finding the place was okay and when I entered the apartment it was a pure "WOW" effect. Those who are looking for sterile / modern business hotels are totally wrong here but those who like vintage style - as I do - will love the place from the 1st second on. You can immeadiately see that here people with a lot of love for details were creative and when you enter the spacious garden, you see that it just continues there too with plenty of flowers and trees. A perfect place to calm down and enjoy the evening on the terrace. To round-up the stay I have to note that the breakfast was served with very good tasting local food and I could not ask for more. My conclusion: I'll come again and this not only for business reasons!
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Maison D'hôtes Ferme D'issonges B&B in Marigny-en-Orxois, you'll be 15 minutes by car from Musee Jean de Lafontaine. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic surprise! An old French farm house restructured enough to make it comfortable (bathrooms in every bedrooms and very comfy beds) but without altering the charme and beUty of a farm house. Host and hostess are delightful. Breakfast was incredible with a selection of 9 jams all home made and brie at will. We aldo dined twice at the farm the first time because it was convenient the second one because we would not want to be anywhere else. An experience that anybody should have provides that one is not looking for an anonymous luxury hotel.
Cons: Internet was not working properly but in that place we really did not care.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We would highly recommend the dinner at the Ferme - delicious 4 course meal with local champagne, wine and liqueur. Recipes were from the Propriator’s grandmother - French cooking at its best!!!
Cons: Could not have been better!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice bed and breakfast with wonderful hosts and delicious food! Good place to stay overnight when visiting Belleau Wood, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, specially the host!

Hotel Beaudon - Pierrefonds - Building
13
8.7 Excellent (575 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Beaudon in Pierrefonds, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Chateau de Pierrefonds and Compiegne Forest.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owner run and managed and it really shows, efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We are a family of 5 plus our dog. We had a double room and next door a room with two double beds (each in a separate area so there was both character and privacy). Lots of space and windows and stunning views. The bed and pillows were very comfy and it was not too hot at night.
Cons: Nothing, it was ideal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and most rooms have a view over the lake. Our room didn't which was a bit of a shame although the outlook over the town is still rather nice. The hotel is in the centre of Pierrefonds and the castle is easy to reach and the lovely village square. The restaurant serves nice food
Cons: Rather oddly for a booking of a double room we have two double beds in different rooms. Not a negative point, just rather surprising. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the decor could do with modernising throughout
6.8 Good
Pros: Location is on walking distance from the castle of Pierrefonds. Good breakfast. Adequate hotel for a one night stay, but not for a longer stay.
Cons: No airco and and no possibility to get a fan when it was 43 degree C outside, which made it hard to sleep. Understood that a fan would not be allowed from the fire brigade, but in the previous 2 hotels, a fan was provided without problem... We had a room on the the third floor, but no elevator...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Position of the hotel
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is splendid.
Cons: It was all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, the flowers growing right outside the windows were an especially lovely little touch
Cons: The fact that I can never stay longer but that is by no means any fault of theirs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, beautiful town, lovely views. Very helpful, friendly staff
Cons: French hidden speed cameras
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming little inn in a lovely spot, good food on an outdoor terrace. Large bathroom and windows on 2 sides for good airflow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was small, but clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful. I loved the views of the château from the hotel!
Cons: There was too much single-use plastic in the room (for example, flimsy plastic cups in film packaging). There was also an issue with the Wi-Fi one afternoon/evening.

Pros: A fantastic 2 night stay with Anna and Eric. Thanks for the warm welcome and superb accomodation. Loved the pets. Thanks for dinner each night, such a great experience. Definately would return
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulously quirky property with Idyllic gardens in which to sit and relax and if the mood takes you drink some of the lovely local wine. Vast attic bedrooms where you can lay and listen to the river that used to drive the water wheel. Great breakfasts with fresh local produce including honey and jams produced by the bees and trees in the garden. Hospitable and engaging hosts who are happy to share their wealth of local knowledge and their growing menagerie of animals including two highly amusing pigmy pigs
Cons: We would have preferred a shower instead of a bath but that is just us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house with lovely garden and stream running past back garden.

Pros: Friendly and interesting owners. Large room and very nice garden with a waterstream flowing under the office! Good dinner and breakfast. He keeps bees and is kindly willing to tell about them and show them if you are interested.
Cons: We prefer a shower above a bath, but that’s personal. Not really a problem.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Historical building, nice decor
Cons: Yellow water in taps- they provided no bottled water so very thirsty in the night. Only two towels provided (one dirty) for three people. Wanted a cup of tea but didn't want to fill kettle with yellow water. Said they would send a email with discount for next stay but didn't.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room The bathroom was clean and everything worked
Cons: Later at night I could not switch on the TV again.
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a beautiful property.
Cons: We have stayed at this hotel many times over several years. It has recently changed hands and it would appear to us that the new owners don't have the same interest in the place as the previous ones.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome by the staff on duty. And free indoor parking at the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and super friendly. The room was huge with cushioned walls!

Pros: This was a great find and a wonderful place to stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Locartion served our purpose iresearching some family history.
Cons: Just thought the price was a little high,
7.5 Good
Cons: very nice property, and nice welcome. breakfast is rather poor (as it is rather normal around countryside france), and the location is not spectacular.... just a random little village with nothing particular. The rooms were nice, and so was the beautiful internal courtyard. pitty it serves only for parking though the person at the reception was extremely nice and helpful
4.5 Okay
Pros: I like that the facility is small and quaint. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: I did not like that the same used towels were folded up neatly and provided to me by the cleaning staff (after I placed them on the floor the previous day) instead of giving me new towels to use. I was appalled! I also have an issue with wash cloths not being provided. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. There were also bars on the first floor windows which concerned me from a safety standpoint. Breakfast was over priced especially when the options for food was extremely limited and was not sufficient for the number of guests. I had to search for a clean mug and utensils, the limited food and milk were depleted..so I was forced to eat a yogurt for breakfast (which is way overpriced for the cost of this "amenity"). Finally, there was no on-site staff at night. Guests are left on the own after hours when the staff leaves for the night.

Pros: We thought the breakfast was expensive and repetitive. The staff were excellent.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit tired.
6.3 Good
Pros: Lovely village. Great location. Fine main building.
Cons: Needs money spent. Poor and dangerously sloppy stairs. Overpriced low grade basic small room. Restaurant food much overrated. Over cooked fish. Odd tasteless accompaniments. Pretentious plate decorations. Served cold. Cheese concept had melted into a soupy mush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really nice
Cons: Noting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Auberge in a great location - just a couple of hours from Calais. Very comfortable rooms, delightful gardens. Excellent evening set menu - not cheap at €56pp but worth it for a special occasion.
Cons: €14pp for breakfast was a little steep.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the village. the room was large. the bed was comfortable. cleanliness everywhere. quiet at night.
Cons: a bulb was missing in the bedroom. the toilet paper felt like sandpaper. the food was the greatest disappointment: we had such a good memory of fabulous food, and this year, it was just so-so. The plate presentation was not attractive, a mishmash of vegetables, the meats were tough. Dessert was blah. What happened to the chef? staff was respectful and efficient, but not all were smiling, that's ok with me. But I like friendliness.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good food and staff and lovely position in such a pretty quiet village in the middle of the forest with a charming old abbey about 200 yards away
Cons: the actual view from our window could have been better but with comfortable beds and such a quiet surroundings so no sounds at night it more than made up for it.
7.0 Good
Pros: The cuisine was, as always, excellent and typically traditional
Cons: This was our fourth visit to the hotel and the room allocated to us was the most disappointing yet - it was very noisy indeed from early in the morning - we were sited over the kitchen delivery entrance
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is a little gem. Not the cheapest but the food was excellent. Lovely little village with nice woodland walks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous gastronomic dining experience in exquisite village. This is a wonderful location in the autumn when there was frost on the ground and the trees all around this village were turning colour. The restaurant is not only beautiful with wonderful open fires but the food is amazing. The rooms are warm and cosy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, great service, pretty rooms
Cons: Larger bath.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, air con and nice breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room clean and comfortable. Standard Ibis fare. Bar cheap. Plenty of parking. Better for an overnight while driving rather than a 3 day stay. The price wasn't as economical as I would have expected for a hotel of its caliber. I was doing a lot of day trips so it was easy to get on and off the highways.
Cons: It's located in what's basically a suburban truck stop. The highway runs right outside. No outdoor seating areas (a MUST in France!). No laundry nor gym. No balconies. You MUST have a car to stay here (I did).
7.3 Good
Pros: Clean, nice, and new, great breakfast, easy parking.
Cons: Difficult to locate, lobby computer not very user friendly, comforter for bed is too hot. Would prefer sheets, blankets so I could use only as much as I need.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness and friendliness
Cons: No it was all great
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very pleasant and helpfulFunctional
Cons: Better arrangements for dinner
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was super and the staff. New beds very comfy. Floor more hygienic than carpet. Room clean.
Cons: I did not like the area, it was very shabby and litter everywhere. It doesn’t give a good impression as you drive in.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very nice for the price. The reception is open 24h so you can check-in late and get food or drinks. Being able to take food to your room was also nice.
Cons: The woman at the reception when I checked in didn't speak very much English. It made it awkward and difficult to order food. The air conditioning was a little loud, even if you turned it off. Some breakfast items were lukewarm when they should be cold. Like milk or water.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: That as a family, we had two adjoining rooms.
Cons: It was not clean. There were flying bugs all over the room and the landed on us as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast - good choice and quantity. The location was excellent - just at the edge of the Foret de Retz - I came to hike in and around the forest.
Cons: Lunch and dinner are unavailable Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That is a minor point - there are restaurants in town (15 minute walk ) but after a long walk during the day I would have enjoyed just sitting down in the air conditioned restaurant or outside in the shaded terrace.
6.8 Good
Pros: The room was very small, but the beds were comfortable.
Cons: A bit more space would have been nice. But it was fine.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: No air conditioning nor fans, it was very hot Not enough towels - only 2 bath towels, no hand ones. Very nice setting, grounds, outside area, big car park. Breakfast very nice, especially the madeleines ! Could do with a vending machine to sell cold drinks and sandwiches Nice place overall

Cons: Breakfast was not good enough especially biscuits and pain au chocolate. And spiders but it s nature it s ok:)

Pros: How beautiful it and all the surrounding huts were and the beautiful decorations and little details. The location in the forest was perfect for our kids to explore safely. The people running it were absolutely amazing - incredibly friendly and helpful
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like but it’s worth noting it can be difficult/costly to access without a car
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice specially furnished bungalow as if we were in a fairytale. Nice terrace.
Cons: We booked for 6 people but only received 2 towels . The owner informed us that this was mentioned in the booking which was correct but still we expect to receive towels for all guests. Eventually the owner was very helpful and gave us exceptionally 2 extra towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were late in arrival. The staff was very friendly and helpful !
Cons: It was all perfect!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very unique and the kids found it very magical, especially once they saw the princess castle (chateau) in the village! The site offered many different types of accommodation as well as standard pitches for caravans/tents etc. The staff were very friendly. Their English was very limited but we got by.
Cons: There was a pretty bad damp smell inside the house and the beds felt damp. The mrs was worried about her hair smelling musty the day after.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quirky, cute little place. Really quiet spot and perfect for visiting the castle.
Cons: The bed was really hard! And we didn’t get breakfast on the last day
