very good in general
location is great, right behind Lyon train station, can be accessed from the back door exit of train station. the room is quiet. i wish the luggage storage room can be more secured. it seemed that anyone could access it. i wish the hotel staff could monitor or have better control of luggage storage room. also, the room carpet looked quite old.
Nearness to Station
The park of the hotel, the calm all over the hotel despite the fact that the hotel is just in front of the railway station.it was very clean and the staff very kindly.
Location to the station and the new tram link to the airport. Good transport links also to the old town. The staff let us leave our bags in the store room all day til our departure for the airport. Looks to be smart as you cross over from the station but actually is quite tatty with dangerous crumbling tiles in the brreakfast room. We also didn't like that inter-communicating door to the next room which although locked you can hear everything. Our room door was open on our return from breakfast with all our valubles in sight and yet the cleaner was in another room.
Ideal for a rugby trip - hotel has everything needed for such a visit - good breakfast, comfortable room and helpful friendly staff. We thought that the Manageress was outstanding; hard working, highly efficient in every department, very communicative with guests, and being so stunningly attractive was an added bonus!
The location is very nice and room is clean and neatness。 Reception staff
Location. Value for money. There was a small spider in the bathroom. The room didn't have a minibar.
proximity to lyon & station
Front office staff kind enough to move us to a larger room and were helpful with other questions. Bed was comfortable. Very dingy hotel. Hallway carpets in need of replacement. Bathroom could use thorough cleaning - there was mold and mildew.
Very comfortable bed No
The rooms were modern and clean. The exterior of the hotel was very nice too. The standard room was very small for three people, two adults and one child. The hotel was several blocks away from the train station and bus to the historic sites.
The room was beautiful, very light and airy and stylishly decorated. The included breakfast was a bonus and very well presented with a great variety of food.
Good, clean, quiet hotel. Definitely a strong 3 stars Located a bit far from the Downtown core for a purely touristic stay
A very good receptionist who recommended good restaurants nearby. The one that we chose was particularly good. The late night member of staff was also excellent. The breakfast was poor value for 14€
It is clean and quiet, convenient for access to the city centre and also to Part-Dieu and the University
Location - Famous Restaurants around - Metro at 100m Very Noisy from 5:00am if you have a room giving on the side of the main streets that are also near to the railway. Cars+Trains=too much
Location and room with balcony Lobby and bar/coffee shop mid way through renovation (completly gutted)
location... room was ok, staffs are good and responsive... the first room I checked in was not really a non-smoking room (smelled like someone just smoked there) they switched me to another room immediately...
being close to the train station Woman at the front desk wasn't very nice, toilet and bathroom could be cleaner.
They must put a curtain in the bathtop, it s very hard to take a shower when the water is spilling on the floor.
The location is perfect. As it near all transportations & shopping center . The bed in the standard double room was too small for two persons.
Excellent location Breakfeast good prize/performance ratio Kind staff Some renovation might become necessary soon, I.E. to remove some smell of cleasing agents and to avoid I.E. rain damage.
nice staff good service expensive for the quality. we had to change rooms because of odor
This is the worst hotel among hotels I experienced. Especially, service staff is totally mess. I could got just one towel even though we are couple.
Location is good, right next to the Part Dieu railway station. Our room was quiet, a good base for a city break.
Location is good; very close to the main transportation facities. Bathroom was very dirty. I didn't have the courage to touch the towels.
We booked Hotel Athena because we needed accommodation as close to the train station as possible. For this purpose the hotel was excellent. The staff were not friendly - we asked whether or not the lady knew of a good place to eat close by and she gave us no advice at all.
proximity to metro no
Rather small but very nice and comfortable room. Very friendly and cooperative staff. Good location close to metro station on line to city center (10 minutes). Good breakfast. Very good value for money.
Staff friendly. Good decour in rooms. The rerstaurant and bar were both closed, only drinks were a few cans in a small fridge by reception. Had to leave hotel early and could not get breakfast, was told that there would be no one to prepare it. I only needed a couple slices of bread and some jam, after all I had paid for it.
the staff were pleasant and helpful
The room was very clean, the bed was good & firm, and the room was recently renovated. I ordered breakfast in my room (for the same price as a buffet breakfast) and it was quite small & mediocre (Lipton tea - yuk, etc) - in short, nothing special.
very good position, underground station very close to hotel , 5 minutes journey to city centre. big room, very clean with all comforts. there is also a computer available at reception for free, to check one's emails , etc. hotel garage is not free of charge of course and it is also quite expensive but it is possible to park your car in the street and it is free.
Hotel is good for staying overnight, otherwise its very cold and not really welcoming. On the other hand very clean
nice rooms and staff The restaurant, the food was poor. The bar was closed at midnight and even 1 night at 9.30pm
Comfortable bed Room was small; Poor location
The room was exactly what we've expected: big and clean with a big TV which you don't usually get in France and great parking. There was no minibar and if you don't have a car it is a little bit far from the center of the town.
stayed in this hotel for 3 nights for a business trip. wonderful experience! very friendly and helpful staffs, very clean and confortable. will choose it again in the future.
enviroment around Hotel is very Good, it is near Big Green Park ,Congress center and Museum. This Hotel itsself was comfotable, cleanness and its staffs were very kind. Information for internet was not enough good.Internet fee was 10 euro per day. its is expensive. I wish if possible this fee includes into Hotel staying fee.
Breakfast was superb.Staff very friendly and efficient.Room was very comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities and no water.Seems to be a thing in France. This hotel is on a busy dual carriageway and is not very well sign posted so is easy to miss.Parking is expensive but the same can be said for most hotels in France.
Location No coffee in room. Breakfast was so - so. Cost for value was Okay
The room was excellent and the staff were great. The hotel is situated in a complex used for conferences and other business meetings. There are restaurants nearby and also a small cafe for light meals. The bus into Lyon takes about 15 minutes but runs regularly - the stop is opposite the hotel. Parking is under the complex. Considering its position within the complex, direct access from the carpark would have been nice. Instead you need to come outside for a short walk and this can be an issue in the rain.
The hospitality of the staff was just awesome. The lady recommended a restaurant which was reasonable and wonderful taste. I was just impressed by the service level the hotel has. The building and room was also clean and brand new. I really recommend the place. The location was a bit far away from the center of the town but the bus was very convenient so it was not a big problem. There were a lot of shops around the convention center but a bit pricy..
Location, if you're a runner. It's really close to the Tete d'Or park.
Friendly staff. Modern equipment. Free internet access. Breakfast expensive for quality offered.
Location, comfort, view, value, free wifi Several details were neglected. I have informed the hotel
Rooms were really luxurious and spotlessly clean. Hotel was in a business complex with lots of nice restaurants and things to do. Breakfast was 20 euros per person - we felt this was excessive so ate breakfast elsewhere. It was outside of the city and although a very nice environment, it could have been anywhere.
bathrooms need updating - they look old and worn out
Position in Lyon, pleasant room and staff
location. size of bedroom very old furniture and old bathroom
Good location near town center, with average price. Breakfast was good and evening staff was helpfull (we arrived late but helped for restaurant, provided iron table as needed...). It is an hotel more appropriate for business trips as not specialy charming and located in a business aera.
large space clean rooms
Good, polite service, room cleanliness, general freshness. Some cracks around the washbasin.
Daytime staff very efficient; nighttime crew not intelligent or helpful. Room in good condition except for the bathroom counter top. Location is very good - especially if one is in Lyon on business. Nighttime crew not intelligent or helpful. They had my room registered under my first name so visiting friends couldn't find me! Countertop in bathroom was disintegrating and basically disgusting. Shower excellent, however! Comfortable, large bed.
The hotel room was massive with a huge bed for us. Comfortable and reliable, good location to many great restaurants across the river. Stayed an additional night and room charge was matched...:) Wifi was not working, room service was not of quality.
It was easy to find using our gps and the lobby area was beautiful. The room service was also acceptable. We were given a broken bed to sleep on and when we climbed into bed that evening were too tired to call for changes. When we reported it the next day, there was no compensation or any way to make up for this. Even tho' we put in our request for our car to be brought around and was told that it only took 15 minutes for it to happen, we had to wait for over 40 since there was some mix up. Generally, this was the only disappointment in our entire trip of staying in hotels in Europe.
convenience for transport and sight seeing rooms 'cramped' for two people, corridors dark giving hotel a rather overall gloomy feeling.
Close to Metro, clean accommodation . Free Wifi It was close to metro but we were harrased every time we left the front door - not pleasant at all. Room was very small - Aircon didn't work, when we reported this we were told that it didn't work when it was hot!!
location and cleanliness
Excellent hotel for the price offered at this time (130 EUR). If prices could stay at this level more often I will use this hotel more often as my allowance for business nights are around this level. I 'm even considering using your conferenses facilities next year for an international user meeting we are organising.
Poor breakfast for 24 euro per person
Everything was positive. We also appreciated the evaluation-questions by the Gen. Mgr. Very recommendable. No complaints at all!
Located a little bit far from the city center. The staff was very kind.
Public transport was easy from this hotel, staff very knowledgable, comfotable rooms and friendly staff and they tried to help striaght away. I had an email advertising the jaccuzzi and sauna and then when we went to use it we didnt have access to the floor to begin then it was out of order which we werent told. our tv was not working when we arrived and we had to have two technicians come to fix it though they did straight away which was nice. then we asked about the city pass and they took 40mins to research it and then said they had run out of the cards. then we went to go to the blue elephant restaurant but were told you needed reservation which they should tell you at the desk when you check in in case you want to do so for another night. Also online it said there was a free shuttle to town but it wasnt free you had to take the bus.room service a bit cold on delivery.
The room was big, and clean. Nice bathroom also. It isn't close to the city center or places to visit
Size of the room and bed type for a European hotel
general efficiency and tranquillity failure to clean room.
It is located just in front of Big park. The park has zoo & botanical garden, both of them for free! Nice environment for walking & joging. (The location is bit far from city center for sight-seeing, but there is bus to access. ) The drainage of bath-tab was quite slow.
brekfast, location cleanliness, time table for sauna
At €130 a night this place is an absolute rip-off. It is not much better than a Formule 1. The television set was barely bigger than the one my granddad used to have on the boat. You couldn't have a shower without flooding the entire bath because the shower head was caked in limescale and the curtain below par. Although I was on the fifth floor, there was a lot of noise coming from the street. In short, I would have felt short-changed, had I paid fifty Euros.
Parking and reception were OK The room was dark with no outlook. Aircon was non existent. Hotel not easy to find.
Reception spoke very good english, lots of facilities to make the stay comfortable, nice location next to the river and it looked an easy walk across into the main city centre (we didn't walk though as we only stayed the night). Would be hard to find without a Sat Nav system (which we had thankfully) and the garage was pretty squeezy to get in and out of, breakfast expensive.
Location Size of rooms.
Nice personnell, good locatiom no
Convenient for our purposes The hotel needs a complete refurbishment
The price The elevator stops not on the guest floors. You have to go up the steps to your room. Very inconvenient if you have long travel plans and have big suitcases.
They had a very good breakfast which was included in our price. The staff at the front desk were not all that friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very central and provided good service for the price paid The area wasa not good but not dreadful
Great location with onsite parking. Very central and close to the Rhone.
Value for money. Large room, Excellent breakfast, nice location
location is great.
The location of the hotel was excellent. Less than 1 minute walk from the main shopping promenade. There was the main Metro line only 5 minutes walk away linking the rest of the city. The hotel rooms were a little old and small, however we had a Junior Suite which we found reasonably spacious and was located at the back of the hotel away from the traffic noise. We ate outside for all our meals...including breakfast and this was a perfect hotel for this. Generally the rooms were a little old in style....but they were comfortable
After a long days drive, the staff was very welcoming. I felt the hotel was in a thriving downtown location as was advertised. Easy parking just one block away.
It's very well located, and all the installations are ok. I found the breakfast somewhat poor (no vegetables at all, not even a tomato, no skim milk) and there were no drinks available: one had to be asking a waiter to serve drinks - while that one seemed to be saving each ml of drink.
Well centered and at walking distance of all interesting venues in Lyon (in particular, the old town). Very friendly and competent hotel staff; you can follow their recommendations regarding places to visit and restaurants.
Convenient location in the city center, close to old town, shops and restaurants; comfortable and clean room; very comfortable beds; staff very helpful, solved problem with luggage lock very late at night Parking nearby, but the hotel does not have any special arrangement, so it is quite expensive; rooms need perhaps a little renovation
Nice people, very kind. We had a on window that we could open for approx 20 cm. With 3 adults we need some fresh air. Even with airco, fresh air is needed.
Quiet rooms. Helpful staff.
I recommend this Hotel for someone who want to stay in convenient location in Lyon with reasonable price.
Very convenient to public transportation, and also within a pleasant-walk-distance to the city center. Very quiet and well-appointed room.
The staff were extremely nice, the bedroom was nicely decorated and clean and the bathroom was spacious. Also the breakfast was tasty and the internet worked fine. There was nothing that I didn´t like.
The hotel has a very good location, right next to the river, and is modern and comfortable. Ridiculously overpriced breakfast and use of internet in lobby.
No free parking for clients of hotel
The rooms were modern and clean, I had an issue with dry cleaning and they dealt with it professionally The front reception area could be modernized
The hotel is well located, the price is nice for what it offers, rooms are quite big and quite comfortable. The elevator is terribly slow, the parking in the hotel is out of order.
The hotel was well located, High price of the breakfeast.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and the location was excellent, as it was in easy walking distance of the old city of Lyon. It would have been nice to have had a little bar in the hotel, where one could get a coffee or a drink beyond breakfast times.
Location & room
Cool bedroom are a must, these were good
excellent central location gave easy walking access to most tourist sites
The Location, the staff, the room, the price The street is loud at night, so remember earplugs
We stayed only one night and it was perfect! We loved the location. Parking is 200mts far from the Hotel. Very clean. Quite big rooms. Toilett separated from the shower and sink. Bathroom stuff complete (shampoo, aconditioner etc). The staff speaks english. Stairs carpets a little bit old.
Central location and friendly staff. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable.
Location. Good bathroom facilities. Helpful staff. Lift was temperamental. Carpet getting shabby.
great location. Perfect for exploring lyon!
Location is excellent and gives the possibility to investigate the old Lyon. Hotel is also close to metro
Proximity to the city centre, all shops and sights within easy walking distance. Spacious room. Quiet, room was at the back of the hotel so no nuisance from traffic noise. Not really any negative points except to say some might find the choice at breakfast limited, and might not appreciate to have a room with no view. But then one doesn't go to Lyon to stay in the hotel all day!
location and a very large bed ,our room was on a corner so we had great views carpet very worn on stairs, and the price of breakfast a bit high.
Good breakfast buffet. Cheap underground parking very nearby. Very convenient and good value
The hotel is situated in a nice place, near the city center (close to a train station, close to the river). It is close to all city's sights but the place is quiet during the night time. My chamber was realy clean and comfort.
The bathroom was clean and the Hotel was well located for public transport. If other guests could be controlled it was very quiet at night. The decor of the room was dismal and depressing as was the corridor. Although I had requested a nonsmoking room, the room and bed reeked of smoke. It was very noisy on the first two nights with juveniles in the next room shouting and banging till well after midnight. The hair dryer did not work. The coffee at breakfast came from a machine and cafe au lait tasted like cappucino not like proper french cafe au lait.
Some of the staff was very poor!
The Hotel is located in a not fancy place but there's a Subway at 100 meters. The breakfast was very good with many options. The matresses need substitution. The wallpaper need substitution or just be scraped off and having the walls painted.
Nice lobby. The room, though small, suited my short-term visit. Quiet neighborhood, despite the tram. The free breakast was tasty and served all my needs. The rooms are somewhat small, so for me carrying two suitcases and one bag, it was cumbersome to find space. However, on a weekend-trip with less luggage, this hotel should be just fine.
the breakfast was great person checking in at night was a guy with headphones who didnt even take them off to serve people
the location that is very suitable for the visite of the city
Clean room. Nice bathroom There were some noise from the street
Superb breakfast. Weekly wifi rate very reasonable. Walking distance to central city Room smelt of smoke and urine. Badly in need of updating - paint in bad condition, bathroom tiles chipped. Only 3 tv channels. Roof above the landing leaked during rain - made stairs very treacherous. Room very small
We arrive near 22hs, and the reception was closing. We have not towels att the room, and nobody to replace them.
Very bad staff, reception do not work after 21:00, you are unable to call them or to chekin after 21;00. Very small, in room it smells like someone died yestarday, a lot of noise, no parking, They do not accept Americanexress and some type of visa. They do not print receipes, no chek out info available. Bery strange hotel with very bad rooms and very bad staff. Pictures on booking.com are not the same as the real hotel. never use this hotel, you might be also charged additionakl taxes and the manager of this hotel will chrge you additional money for everything. For example I booked a parking place and a double studio room,i ve got small dirty room for 1person with small bed, without any conditioning system,no tv,no bath supplies, no parking
It was located in a quiet location and was only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The receptionist spoke perfect english and were very helpful. They let us keep our car in the carpark for fee all day while we went sightseeing before leaving. The area that it is located is not very scenic.
that is was closed to metro that i was using The comportment of the stuff the fact that i pay too much money and in a terme of 2and a half weeks they cleaned the room once and you had to pay extra for the changing of towels. Furthermore the first day i entered the room it was'n clean at all.
very nice staff , swiming pool , big comfortable studios with full equipment , good for family holidays.
The room was basic but comfortable, would suit a family or tourist on a budget more than a business traveller. The doors are locked at 10pm and so is the reception, The location is not the best. Some soap/shampoo in the bathroom would have been nice.
beds were comfy.location was pretty good, room was clean on your website it states that we can check in at 1300.we arrrive on saturday at 1230 and hotel was closed ! we had to walk around Lyon city for 6 hours until it opened for check in at 1800 ! we were terriblely tired and uncomfortable,it ruined our day in Lyon because bookin.com did not advise the correct hours of check in on Sat which is 9am-12 and 1800 to 2000.
It was a great location close to a tram stop so it was very easy to get around Lyon. The reception desk was closed when we arrived in the afternoon and we had to wait for it to reopen. We don't remember being notified of this on the web site.
Position of the hotel near the railway station, nice staff, quiet and appropriate room. No internet facilities.
Very friendly staff - Room well equipped and spotlessly clean - very close to tram, bus and metro stops. Supermarket and shops very close also. We were also upgraded from a 2 to a 3 bed room for not extra cost. only a minor issue but a kettle in the room would have been nice !
Nicely decorated and comfortable hotel. Smell of fresh paint. After we checked in at the hotel we were the told that the resteraunt was closed because of a staff shortage. I probably would not have made reservations here if I had known this.
Update of the decor to match the hotel
very convenient location for public transport access to Lyon and beyond very poor lighting in bedroom
The location was such that to walk to the town one had to go through a major station.
Convenience. spacious. good services. very supportive staff Due to the complexity of the road system surrounding the Perrache, it is difficult to find the hotel. More directions would be beneficical
Although we booked a twin bed double room and we reminded the receptionist upon our arrival we were still given a double bed room and we had to carry our luggage down and to another room that we were given after our complaint. It was quite frustrating as we were very tired after a long journey. We also didnt particularly like the fact that there was a mouse running behind the reception desk!
Location next to train station - very practical for a short business trip arriving and departing on TGV.
the location and the price great for train travelers and free internet for business user a plus All though the hotel was clean it is really run down for example on the 4th floor the floor I stayed on in the corridor leading to my room there was a broken window with small piece 5cm by 4cm missing nothing dramatic but it seemed to be like that for a while… This hotel definitely needs maintenance.
Good location, large room, large bed, kind staff, clean room. Nothing.
Hotel Chateau Perrache, set in a historic building, offers large rooms with modern bath facilities, easily reachable by train & tram, at the edge of the historic center and shopping areas. We stayed here for the third time in 2010 and enjoyed the friendly staff, good quality breakfast buffet. N/A
Beautiful and well appointed room. Pleasant -- convenient -- close to airport. No wireless internet access. Only available for short period in the lobby. Restaurant was a bit pricey so we chose to eat at the airport.
Excellent hotel for airport transfer. Good connection to the city by tram, but very poor connection to other parts of the region. We visited an international trade fair there and public transport was poor. Taxi very expensive and no shuttle service.
New Hotel with all facilities in excellent order. Restaurant was very good None
Brand new Hotel next to airport!
included mini bar, dinner at the restaurant was good, room was very nice light at desk did not work
desighn of room was very nice they took money for minibar from my account which i didn`t use(it happened when I already left a hotel)...but after my pretension money was returned back
Room service food (lasagne & cheese selection) was good and at the right temperature. 1. There was only 1 set of towels in the bathroom so we had to wait over half an hour after calling reception for another set to be delivered. 2. There were no cups or mugs or coffee sachets for the in-room coffee/tea making facility.
My flight out of Lyon was cancelled by the airline and moved to leave from Paris. Despite knowing a week in advance, neither Active nor the Hotel were prepared to bend the non-refundable policy. I understand that's the policy, but there is in every opportunity the choice to adjust the policy given particular circumstances. I did not cancel the room out of my own choice, the airline made the choice for me. In my many years of travel experience most places with high standards of customer service would have refunded the money for the unused room, despite the policy.
Room, bed, No information about the Hotel's number phone when booking. I must call the Nh hotel in Nice to know the number phone.
Wonderful facilities and great location. I had an early morning flight, and with young kids, being near the airport was very important. It would be nice to be able to drive a private car to the hotel instead of parking at another terminal and then walking over. I was informed that only taxis could make drop offs at the hotel.
