Disney's Polynesian Village Resort - Lake Buena Vista - Building
2
9.4 Excellent (9,446 reviews)
Overview Reviews
As one of Walt Disney World’s original hotels, the Polynesian, or Poly, has a rich history and is incredibly popular with Disney fans. Disney resorts are all family-friendly, but with an amazing pool area, kids’ club, and large rooms that sleep a family of five, The Poly exceeds expectations. Located on the northwest side of Walt Disney World, the Poly is connected to several Disney resorts, including the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary, via the resorts ultra-convenient location right on the monorail line. The monorail and ferry also offer transportation to Magic Kingdom, and a short walk to the Transportation Center, which offers rides to Epcot. Traveling to other parks requires a short bus ride. The Poly is considered a village because of the sprawling layout compromised of 11 longhouses, the Bora Bora Bungalows, and the Great Ceremonial House. There are many on-site amenities, ranging from a grotto pool that features a 40-foot tall volcano and 140-foot-long waterslide, a white sand beach with recreation, an outdoor playground, and a 24-hour video game arcade. There are three kid-friendly restaurants in addition to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. Kona Café, Captain Cook’s, and ‘Ohana are the on-site restaurants offering something for everyone. Plus, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show is extremely popular. For fine dining, the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary are just a short monorail ride away. The rooms are a huge advantage to families because they sleep up to five people, more than most Disney resorts. They have recently undergone a big renovation in terms of design. Plenty of sleeping space, places to sit, a desk, and furnished balconies are great features for families at the resort.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We loved that it really felt we were in the South Pacific, the theming is done so well. The convenience to the Magic Kingdom was also great. There is a perfect mix of quick eating and sit down options as well. Walking out of your building and seeing Cinderella's castle is pretty awesome.
Cons: Our room was in the farthest building from the main lobby area (Great Ceremonial House). Was a bit of a walk to get there, but it was a nice walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jennifer at the front desk
Cons: Monorail closed too early.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous lodge. Can’t beat having animals around your hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pay the extra money for a savannah room! There was nothing better than coming home after a long day at the parks seeing giraffes, zebras, gazelles and many other African animals right off your balcony. I've never been that close to exotic animals and I didn't want to ever leave my room! Plus, the service here was impeccable. I wish I could have stayed longer.
5.1 Okay
Pros: The restaurants are good.
Cons: The rooms in this hotel are very old. Everything is dusty. Beds are uncomfortable. Bunk beds hurt to sleep in. Top bunk creaks so badly, you think you will fall off. No convenient wall outlets. Very, very old tiny TV. Every corner, molding was dusty. Nails missing from wall mirror. Dings in every piece of furniture. The whole room needs more lighting, it is extremely dark. No room to put the luggage rack out to actually put your suitcase on it. I will not be staying here again. If you want to stay at a Disney resort, pick a refurbished one. Pool is not well themed, like other Deluxe Disney Resorts. This hotel does not meet expectations of a deluxe resort experience.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Animals were really cool. Ease of transportation around Disney property. Excellent customer service.
Cons: It is a very expensive hotel- Rooms are smallish for the price.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: That the safari was 8 & up.
6.5 Good
Pros: Animals!! Restaurants. Disney ‘vibe.’
Cons: Rooms too small. Too tired. I would place it somewhere between a comfort inn and a holiday inn express.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location...Walking to two of the parks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are incredible and incredibly patient and helpful. Very nice property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got park hopper tickets so we napped midday and then either walked to Epcot or took the boat to Hollywood Studios most evenings. We also enjoyed the free campfire with marshmallows, movies on the beach, and kiddie waterslide at beautiful pool.
Cons: The buses to Magic and Animal Kingdoms were both crowded and uncomfortable standing with a toddler. If those are your main priorities to visit, you may want to book a closer hotel than Beach Club. Felt like too much of a hassle to go back again at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we were upgraded to the club level! FANTASTIC!!
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: The manager and staff I dealt with was rude and useless. There was a contractor performing work outside of my window between 2 and 3 am (per what a manager told me) which woke me up. After the manager was not able to help me, I left at 3 am
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was right next to Epcot.
Cons: Its over priced for what you get. The food and drinks at Cape May Restaurant wasn't good at all. Our room was not the cleanest, it still had toothpaste splatters on the bathroom mirror from previous guest, cobwebs on sliding glass doors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property and convenience to EPCOT
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Disney does everything right.
Cons: Nothing
1.0 Poor
Cons: Unable to use patio or open windows or sleep in due to scaffolding construction and workers directly outside. Unable to sleep one night because staff left the tv on at full volume in the adjoining empty room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Proximity to Epcot, only 5 min walk. Very convenient when attending the food and wine festival at Epcot. We had food for lunch and then went back to the room to take a nap and went back to Epcot for dinner. Or so was the plan but ...
Cons: ... there was noise everywhere! The pool area was blasting music non-stop. The were always people/children running down the hall ways being very noisy. At 3:00am a kid in the next room started bouncing a ball against the wall. No relaxation at this hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: it was incredible and the staff was even better
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent

Cons: The room is part of the Vacation Club offering, so it was not serviced on a daily basis unless we were willing to pay for extra servicing. We were not aware of this when we booked the room. The choice of restaurants in the immediate area were poor.

9.3 Excellent (5,548 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The charm of Disney makes its mark on the Atlantic City experience at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. The waterfront resort has been transformed into a historic version of Atlantic City from the turn of the century. Guests can enjoy the quaint, colonial stylings combined with the beautiful scenery of Lake Buena Vista when they stay at this resort. The boardwalk is designed with Coney Island in mind, with twinkling lights strung like taffy along the lake. This resort features more than a dozen restaurants, food carts, and other dining options. Guests can enjoy fine dining at the Flying Fish or Big River Grille, or a more laid back meal at the ESPN Club or one of the many food stands and carts along the boardwalk. All guests of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn can also enjoy room service until midnight. For a little nightlife, there are a number of bars and lounges around the resort offering various themes and historical nods. 9.4 Excellent
Pros: Easy to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios
Cons: Can be Expensive
6.2 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Pool too loud, no water in rooms , rooms not worth the money, quite pool no service
10.0 Excellent
Cons: 11 is the age at which you get charged as an adult in the restaurants, but not old enough to be in the arcade unaccompanied.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, ambience, cleanliness, shadow of the Disney experience. It's a great location being between two of the four parks both of which are within walking distance. Very convenient to take a break and return later in the evening. The Flying Fish Cafe has great food albeit expensive but then again, everything at Disney is expensive so you already know what to expect.
Cons: The daily intrusion by housekeeping to check up on you is creepy. It isn't that they are concerned about you but just because of what the maggot did in Las Vegas doesn't entitle them to intrude on your privacy like you were a suspicious character. It's enough that you get the inconvenient airport experience at the park entrances that now you have to suffer this indignity.

5.7 Okay
Pros: The room was clean. Motel was located close to the Disney parks.
Cons: We couldn't get our MagicBands to work after they were first uploaded. We had maintenance come to our room to check our lock. There was nothing wrong with the door lock. After 3x the 1st day and 2x the 2nd day going to the front desk we finally got our MagicBands to work. We were tired and having to deal with this didn't help.
6.0 Good
Pros: The shop had nice gift. The boat ride to downtown Disney was nice.the bathroom was roomy but the door would lock if it was shut to fast
Cons: The beds were very uncomfortable 3 of us woke up sore. A worker in the gift shop was rude to one of my daughters who has a Disney annual pass but does not have an ID because she is a minor. The woman did not want to give her the discount that comes with the Disney card.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food court had a nice selection of food at reasonable prices for on the resort. Location is close to grocery stores, restaurants etc. My kids loved the pool.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: As always Disney nails it. Fantastic facilities and the benefit of on property transportation. A fantastic place
Cons: When booking through a third party names of all travelers don't always make it to the reservation nor does a my Disney account get linked. This is a problem because Magic Bands can be preordered custom and fastpass+ reservations can be made when all necessary information gets to Disney before arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First time we have stayed in Congress Park Section of the resort, and it measured up. It is located between the main building with the restaurants and pool, and the shopping and dining on Disney Springs. Our deluxe studio (2632) was spacious and along one of the unused water ways so we enjoyed a quiet weekend. The bus stop was just a short walk, and we waited no more the 15 min. For our buses to arrive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is walking distance to Disney Springs. Or, a short bus ride or drive. Beautiful resort grounds and accommodations. Pools are very nice. There is a sit down and a self serve restaurant in the resort. The 2 bedroom condominium is spacious with a full kitchen, living area, balcony, 3 TVs (one in each bedroom and one in the living area. Beds are so comfortable. The 2nd bedroom has 2 queen beds, a sitting area, 2 sinks separate from toilet and bath/shower.
Cons: Expensive and lots and can get a bit crowded at the pools at certain times of the day.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Being able to use my points which cost dearly.
Cons: This isn't my home resort. I can never get in but no one WANTS to use their points here. It's just that it's usually all that's left if you want a spontaneous vacation. BTW my home resort is the Boardwalk and since I purchased in 1997, I've only been able to stay there a handful of times. :-(

8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent (friendly and accommodating. Having a full kitchen was appreciated.
Cons: No hot tub, and although they kept saying the pool was heated, it wasn’t warm enough to head out on 60 degree days. They have a breakfast buffet, but only 3 waffle makers operating (they have another 3 on the other side of the room that they kept closed off). They need more for this big hotel due to its proximity to Disney. For meat at breakfast, they only offered turkey products - sausage and ham. They had trouble keeping up with the demand for coffee. They never vacuumed our room during our extended stay. The sleeper sofa, although new, was poor. Parking fee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful the employees are great. Great location breakfast included is nice and the food was good everyone very nice.
Cons: The only complaint I have is this hotels needs to hire more housekeeping employees. Granted like all companies they want to run a business with as little as possible so that all the big shots can stuff their pockets. I arrived at 2:30 and was told the rooms were not ready because they were sold out the previous night before and they were trying to get the rooms cleaned which was understandable check in was not till 4:00PM. The young lady asked if I could come back in 30 minutes and I said sure, about 45 minutes later went back and no rooms they took my phone number and said they would call when the room was ready. I took my family to the parks because if not they were going to loose the whole day and not make it to the park and tickets were already purchased. Went back to the hotel with our dog and waited received the call from the hotel around 5:45 that the room was ready went to the front desk completed the check in by this time my head was pounding from a headache. Went up stairs to find the room I received had not been cleaned. A supervisor was walking the hall showed him the picture I took of the room and made a phone call to the front desk I went down stairs they apologized and asked what they could to make things right I just asked for a ready room. While waiting another customer came in around 6PM that had made reservations I believe for a two bedroom suite there room was not ready either really two hours after check in time. About 10 minutes later got the room it was great didn’t go to the park to meet with my family my headache was to big to go anywhere so wasted a ticket. Next day check out and when I received the email for the charges see a $10.00 parking fee it is absurd to me that I have to pay for parking where I am already paying to stay in the hotel. During check in I was never told I would be charged for parking. The hotel was great don’t get me wrong but they need to hire more housekeeping employees.

8.2 Excellent
Pros: The cars section were we stayed was Awesome! The kids enjoyed looking at the cars characters and they thought the room was great two. Loved having the two bathrooms.
Cons: The food at the resort was mediocre, for the price it could tast better
7.7 Good
Pros: Mermaid room is small, but ok for a family of 4. The resort has a nice theme and the grounds are very clean.
Cons: The walk from mermaid rooms building 8 is a long walk. It took 11-12 minutes to walk from room to the "cars" pool.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were upgrade to a nemo room and that was a very nice surprise. The room was bigger which included a microwave, kitchenette sink and refrigerator. Indoor entry was a plus.
Cons: The little mermaid rooms were really small and not very appealing. All the room were outdoor entry much little motels. Very bare/basic room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very kid friendly the play areas along the paths were amazing and the pool was also big enough for a lot of quests.
7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel gives you the full Disney experience.
Cons: Take away the Disney aspect and you have an average motel style room in the little mermaid section where we stayed. If you pay more, there are better rooms closer to the resort style pool. The eatery was Disney style and the food was just what you'd expect from one of their mass dining experiences.
4.8 Okay
Cons: It took us 30 minutes to check in. They kept telling me that we booked with a third party and that was the problem. We had a 2 year old with us and when we checked in we asked for a pack n play. Went to get something to eat, and when we returned it still was not in the room. We called and it took another 1/2 hour to receive. Very crowded, and the food was just mediocre. Room was very small, if not Disney it would be 1/2 the price.
6.5 Good
Pros: The pools were the best part of the resort!
Cons: 1. The smoking area is on the jogging trail! 2. There is only one food court for all the guests so expect long waits in line. 3. The only provide one bed sheet so bring a blanket!!!! 4. Guests don't know what to bring to the registers when cashing out their food.. So they leave the line to get stuff and hold up the registers!
6.8 Good
Pros: As it is described it is a Value Resort, the cheapest Housing by Disney but kids friendly invironment, but misses basic shopping needs like fresh milk and cereal as it has a small useful Kitchenette. With a fridge, microwave, wide cabinate but they use USA electric sockets only, you can buy a converter from the gift shop but bare in mind USA only uses 110V electricity. so make sure your device is dual current or you'll end up grumpy like my wife who couldn't use her own hair Devices ;) .
8.5 Excellent
Pros: service comfort of room
Cons: horrible wifi in room
6.2 Good
Pros: It was nice. Lots of things for the kids. Good job.
Cons: Arcade was a let down. Kids wanna win things. Expensive drinks...ridiculous. Cheap towels, hide a bed was hard. Room was dirty. Furniture and floors...totally not worth the money we paid. We're poor folks. Such a waste of money.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very nice. The grounds were a lot of fun for my 4 year old grandson. Best part was once we parked we didn't have to drive again. The bus took us right to the ticket booths at Magic Kingdom.
Cons: Not much I can say about what we didn't like.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I attended with my husband and 2 younger children and 2 older children. We all had something to do. I like the different activities and chance to just relax. Everyone loved the numerous pools, lazy rivers, and there were many Jacuzzi hot tusb that we always found that it wasn't crowded. I will definitely stay again.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The resort is close to everything. We used the grills almost nightly. Lots of things for the kids to do.
Cons: The maid didn't come once during our 5 night stay. When we got to our room the tub was leaking from the handle. The fan that drys the tub came on scaring my kids. We called the front desk and it was fixed quickly but I feel the maid should have caught it when she cleaned. I also didn't like how they try to get you to buy the timeshare.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We love the location of this resort for our Disney World vacations!
Cons: Tower 5’s lazy river shut down part way through our stay for resurfacing, which of course was our son’s favorite pool. The bathroom layout of the three bedroom Presidential doesn’t afford much privacy to the nines-master wing of the suite.
6.2 Good
Pros: It's on Disney Property, good for family to spend time together rather then having two separate hotel rooms.
Cons: They waste your time trying to get you to buy a time share. They tell you to go to a different area to get parking pass and then keep you

4.2 Okay
Pros: I liked the location. Right off irlo Bronson, you can't beat it. Quite. You have your own space.
Cons: The rooms were tiny, the couches were filthy, a strange smell stayed throughout or stay, even after we started a generous amount of frebreeze. No water pressure.
8.2 Excellent
Cons: The mattress's in both bedrooms were HORRIBLE, besides that the place was nice
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great enviroment staff was friendly no issues with the stay the place was very clean this was my first time taking my family out of state this was a great place to go not far from disney world as well
Cons: I have no problems with this place
9.4 Excellent
Pros: We had more than enough space in the platinum cottage. It was clean, quiet, and centrally located. My husband travels a lot for work and stays in Hampton Inn more than 3 times a month, he commented that the cottage was cleaner than 90% of the rooms he stays in with Hampton Inn. There was ample closet and storage space and with the deal we got from Kayak, the price literally could not be beat!! Especially since there is on site laundry, a bark park, mini golf, a pool, a cafe, and a small "general" store in the office. We stayed here to go to Disney and it was easy to get on and off property from this location. We will be back! We are even considering buying one of the smaller cottages they have for sale on site. Our three year old loved this place as well, she called it her green house the entire stay.
Cons: The beds could use new mattresses and the cottage needed extra pillows but it's not like we lost any sleep over these two things. The only other thing I might add is the cottage needed an informative guide inside. We didn't know how or where to get fresh towels, where to take the garbage, check out guidelines, etc. But all we had to do was ask/explore a bit. I rated the staff at 4 stars because they were not very professional (I only encountered the night shift at the desk) otherwise, we really couldn't find anything to complain about!
6.5 Good
Pros: There were activities for my 5 year old to keep busy, either at the pool, or the mini-golf. The cottage concept was a nice idea for those without campers. The location right off of 192 is great.
Cons: The space was tiny and very tight, there was only 4 of us, but we had to keep our luggage in the car because there was no where to put it in the cottage. The bedding was thrown on and was old and torn, so we had to make the beds when we got there. The blinds were all broken and the door was very difficult to open and close. Considering we only paid $60/night, we got what we had expected!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the deluxe cabins. got 2 bedrooms and a kitchen for less than the price of a disney budet hotel room, which are very small. Much better for familes than staying in a single hotel room. Everything was clean, and the kitchen came with cooking utensils. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: We were close to the pool, and it was loud in the evening (pool is open until 11.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about the resort!
4.5 Okay
Pros: The cottage/bungalow concept was a great idea. There were lots of activities to participate in. The price was very affordable.
Cons: The bedding was old and torn in places. The sheets smelled dirty. The furniture was also old, worn, and smelly. All of the blinds were bent and let light in at night. There was no tub for our toddler to take a bath, only a shower. Also, there was an iron provided, but it stained my son's clothing. Our vacation package included tickets to a dinner show and when we checked in, they would not give us the tickets. My husband had to show them our confirmation email to prove that we were telling the truth. They finally gave us the tickets, but they were not happy about it.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Need maintenance
Cons: Pri e
6.5 Good
Cons: Gym facility is quite outdated and basically non usable. 20 years old at least. Only 1 pot and pan for cooking and no cooking utensils...spatula or spoons.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location, allows dogs, value was good.
Cons: Rooms are very old, freezer and refrig worked poorly, beds very uncomfortable.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Complimentary Breakfast was worth while and had a large variety
Cons: TVs were in great need of updating, wifi was weak at best, furniture was outdated by twenty years, and the mattresses were horrible
