The property is located in the old town, just a couple of minutes' walk away from Quartiere di S. Pellegrino, the old town's old town, and within walking-distance of just about all the medieval sights. The hostess was welcoming and informative. I had a room on the first floor, so I did not really get a 'tower'-feel, but the room was well-kept, clean and comfortable. I did poke a bit around the rest of the structure, and there is both a small courtyard off the breakfast room and a rooftop terrace with views of the town and part f the countryside. The breakfast was excellent with a good assortment of bread, sweet and savoury spreads, yoghurt, cereals, cakes and croissants. And the breakfast lady made excellent cappuccinos.
The bathroom was tiny. Especially the shower cabinet (65x65 cm) may prove a bit too small for some. I am petite and relatively slim, so I managed ok, but for someone taller and/or wider, it may be a struggle. Other than that, everything worked fine; plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The room was on the first floor, facing the street. This street was surprisingly busy in the evening, and if you keep the window open at night, the outside noise may prove a nuisance. This may be less of a problem with a room on a higher floor, and definitely with one facing away from the street. And it was not entirely a bad thing being in a room facing the street; I had an excellent vantage point for watching an early-evening procession on the eve of the annual Macchina di Santa Rosa procession. A bit expensive for solo travellers, but good value for couples.
The decor was very well done with an old world charm ! Each detail was set in place to give an authentic experience in a ancient tower ! The staff was wonderful and I will be going back without a doubt . Also it is very a great value for the money . I am particular and they really impressed me !
Nothing , they even carried my suitcase up the stairs for me too , everything was perfect !
The breakfast was great! The hostess was amazing, very accommodating! Location was perfect!
Only thing we didn’t like was that the beds only had one pillow per person, a couple of the rooms did not have locks to them, and the first room we stayed in was right on the street so it was very noisy, but she was very nice and switched our rooms around!
Beautiful historic tower with many authentic elements. Aesthetically well-appointed. My husband loved the very large rain shower. Hot water was perfect. We very much enjoyed Viterbo. The location is excellently located on the main street with free parking below the town. Easy elevator and walk to reach the hotel. Don’t pack heavy, the tower has many stone stairs.
Needs attention to minor repairs, toiletries and cleanliness. Window looks onto at mechanical box. No view. No toiletries except liquid soap container. No breakfast was provided so we did not experience the delicious photos shown on the booking page. The breakfast room remained dark and empty our entire stay. This was a disappointment. We were looking forward to what we saw in the photos. Maybe if we returned in the summer?
Under my expectation, really so so, Hester working few hours for day, design so so, not very clean the room
