Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and garden, Hohewarte Gästefarm offers cosy rooms immersed in the nature a 40-minute drive from Windhoek. The property has free Wi-Fi access available in public areas. With a terrace with views over the savannah, each room is equipped with electric kettle, safety deposit box and a private bathroom with shower. Some rooms have a bath. The restaurant serves European cuisine with strong influences from the African tradition. The Kutako International Airport is a 25-minute drive from Gästefarm Hohewarte. Guests can enjoy an array of activities in the surroundings, such as hiking, safari and horse riding upon request.
Pros: We liked all of it, Heinke was very welcoming and gave out stay a real personal touch, the food was excellent and the property was spotlessly clean. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: No complaints at all
Pros: A delightful welcome from Heike [and Veronique on our first stay here] in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The main house is large and elegantly designed with a sitting room, fire place [as the nights were quite cool in May/June, Heike had a wood fire in the evenings to warm the space] and dining room. Coffee/tea and cake are served mid afternoon on the verandah, and if you enjoy bird-watching there are many varieties to see here. Only a short distance from Windhoek Hosea Kutako airport we stayed here on the day we arrived and on our return. Highly recommended.
Pros: Very welcoming host and very convenient for the airport. The weather was unusually cold (-5 degrees) the one night we stayed. We had a room in the main house which was very cosy and our lovely host (Heike?) made sure we had hot water bottles and blankets. The main sitting/dining room is charming and old world with comfy sofas by a good fire.
Cons: Our friends were in a separate bungalow - I think they had problems with the hot water and the heating. However, our lovely host was very concerned to put matters right- so 10/10 for care and service.
Pros: Very nice and quiet location. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the personal contact with the host during dinner time. A great place to meet other people and share information!
Pros: The farmhouse is close to Windhoek but secluded and in a spectacular area. The place is beautifully renovated, luxurious rooms, very clean, great food (they cater for vegetarians) and the host is very helpful.
Cons: Internet is not available inside the guesthouse but outside on the terrace.
Pros: Beautiful small inn located in a historic building in a farming area. The staff were superior and very accommodating. The dinner was excellent. We enjoyed walking on farm roads around the inn. The location is just a 20-minute drive from Windhoek airport.
Cons: The large swimming pool did not appear to be maintained,
Pros: Relaxing. Loved having a window to open that had an insect screen. Very comfortable and quiet. Loved the way Heike had everything organised right down to transport to the airport the next day.
Cons: Only a minor. I love something like porridge for breakfast. I am sure I could have asked for it but didn't think about it. So very very minor. Food was good tho.
Pros: My colleagues had trouble with their flights and Heike was extremely helpful, accepting all our changes, etc The place is great, and I didn't expect to have such fantastic meals !! Great vibes and attitude, thank you !!
Pros: The Guestfarm was located 30 min away from Windhoek, and as we didn't want to stay in Windhoek we decided to stay in Hohewarte. It was the perfect beginning for our trip. All the employees were very nice, the dinner was extremely delicious and the rooms were nicely decorated. And it was located in a very peaceful location, so that after a long flight we had the peace and quiet we wanted. The Hohewarte maybe doesn't have the fanciest pool, but it was very refreshing and quite big so that you could take a nice swim.
Pros: A good location to start and finish a Namibia vacation (we stayed there twice). Very good Food- interesting / nice host to talk to (thanks Heike!)
