Pros: The service staff was above and beyond polite and attentive.
Cons: Breakfast room service had several items missing took over 2 hours to resolve messed up or entire 1 full day we had here
Pros: Charming Historical Hotel in a beautiful area of Virginia.
Cons: Hotel is due for a remodel and optional excursions were expensive.
Cons: Nickel and dime you to DEATH. Parking fee. Resort fee. Almost no activities included. Meals cost a fortune.
Pros: The grounds and the staff were incredible. Every staff member I or my family encountered greeted with a smile and asked if we needed anything every single encounter. The grounds were beautiful and well kept.
Cons: I feel like I was nickle and dimed for things upon receiving my receipt at discharge. I was charged $20 for parking when we parked our car ourselves. Random service fee and various others which totaled much more than I had expected. Also power outage.
Pros: The hot spring / spa were magnificent and the location is unbeatable for a weekend getaway. Very romantic location as well.
Cons: Very expensive but lacks the upkeep you would expect. The natural spring had too much algae and have been cleaned. Experiential showers were not functioning. A/C unit in room was soaking the carpet. Where is that daily resort fee going, exactly???
Pros: It's beauty in nature.
Cons: Based on where our room was located, the Garden Wing, it felt like we couldn't fit in with the main part of hotel, so they placed us in the Convention area, far -removed from the main hotel. It was a hike to reach our room from all the conveniences.
Pros: Many years ago, we lived in Virginia and heard comments about The Homestead. Finally could visit for a few days. Hot Springs, VA is a small town surrounding the beautiful Homestead property. A wooded drive opens to manicured lawns and the majestic hotel entrance. The main lobby is reminiscent of a time when impeccably dressed ladies and gentlemen shared tea and conversation. The grounds offer many activities but for us, several walks enjoying the fall colors and sunshine were perfect. We dined at the Jefferson and the main dining room. Service was excellent and the food was interesting and well prepared. Overall, we enjoyed our sojourn into another historic gem of Virginia’s past.
Cons: The property is owned by Omni and every attempt is made to maintain the standards for which the hotel is known. But a property of this size, grandeur and age requires extraordinary resources to maintain at a high level. Large conferences and groups add to the overall wear and tear so the interiors are looking a bit tired. Considering that portions of the hotel date back to 1766, these lapses are noticed but forgiven. Prices in the main dining rooms were very high and likely discouraged conference attendees. As an example, the main dining room includes a beautiful dance floor, pianist and 40-50 tables. When we dined there, only 5 tables were in use the entire time. Many others had private dinners to attend or went to town. It seems that adding a venue with more relaxed and reasonably priced options in the main hotel would be helpful.
Pros: The ambiance and the idea of the history with this hotel, the views on the property
Cons: Made reservations months ago, also emailed the hotel day after booking and requested a down free pillow and bedding. Received confirmation email but my to has many down pillow and a blanket. Also asked Andy the attendant checking us in for a non down pillow, he called downstairs from my room and requested foam pillow, I was in your hotel for 4 Days and three nights. I had fo wrap my down pillow in a Hotel towel so I did not have an asthma attack. There’s a reason I requested down free room. We were in room 1225, Right off side of main lobby, it was loud for the amount we aid.
Pros: Spa staff was awesome!
Cons: The service in restaurants and bars was sub par. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The property feels crowded even for the size.
Pros: Amazing place for get away and relax
Pros: Southern charm
Cons: The young man that checked us in and out needed more training and much better customer service skills .

Pros: Great location close to Hot Springs. The room was clean and comfortable but basic, not fancy.
Pros: Neat, clean rooms, quite reasonable price.
Cons: There was one towel rack in our room that had come off the wall. Also, another, somewhat noisy party was put in an adjacent room when ample rooms were available for spacing the guests.
Pros: We did not have breakfast. The location was great. We thought we would be out in the middle of no where but we were actually in a very nice area. Close to restaurants, etc...
Pros: Location comfort
Cons: Took awhile before the water got hot. No fitted sheets on the beds
Pros: It was clean and reminded us of a place from the past.
Cons: It came up when I search for lodging in Pocahontas WV. This motel is in HOT SPRINGS, VIRGINIA. Staff (one person) was nice bit didn’t give much information when I inquired about the surrounding area. Coffee in room needs to me upgraded and there is no other coffee on premises. Tastes like hot water. Have to go into town for coffee and good. This motel is not in a town. It’s remote. It wasn’t bad. Just a place to spend the night. Very general. AND BE SURE TI BRING YOUR OWN PILLOW. The one there are hard as a rock and flat. I about broke my. Ex’s trying to watch tv.
Pros: It was quiet and very clean
Cons: The water in the shower didn't get very warm.
