Okay
Nils, May 2024
They levies a huge “resort fee” on a per day basis that came as a complete surprise. 35 dollars per day. This was more than 30% extra on what I thought I’d be paying. The catch: the hotel has basically no amenities, I.e. no resort to be seen. The location is great, but I would’ve booked a different place if they had told me the actual price per night in advance. What a scam.

Beacon Hotel is nostalgic because we held our symposium here in the mid 2010s. Location is perfect and prices are great considering its quality. I need to be back there again!

If I'm paying $600 for 2 nights, breakfast should at least be included.

Good location. Staff was friendly enough. A little dated in terms of decorum and amenities. Wallpaper looked a little tired, bathroom was a little run down, and the TV is a plasma screen. Could do with an update. But it was pleasant enough for our experience. We paid 150/night for the king VIP room, and that felt reasonable for where it was located.

Pros (+) I liked the location, there were always staff present, and there was a restaurant, gym, and other business locations.
Cons (-) There was a centipede that came out of my air vent in my room and no one seemed really alarmed by it like I was.

Cons (-) Walls are made out of paper. I could hear every word the people next door said. They were up all night so I did not sleep. Contacted the reception two times about it.
