Overview

Just off Interstate 80, the SureStay by Best Western Wells, Wells, Nevada, is a comfortable high-desert base, with rooms featuring microwaves, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs, free parking, laundry facilities, a 24-hour front desk, and coffee and tea in the lobby. The setting puts the Interstate 80 and U.S. 93 crossroads, the historic downtown, and the East Humboldt Range close by, with alpine Angel Lake a scenic drive up the mountain. The Ruby Mountains rise to the south, and the open rangeland and back roads invite a long, quiet drive through the high desert. Wells is a small crossroads town in the high desert of northeastern Nevada, where Interstate 80 meets the highway south to the Ruby Mountains. Switchbacks climb to Angel Lake, a glacial tarn cradled high in the East Humboldt Range, the old railroad district recalls the town's frontier days, and the wide Great Basin sky stretches to the horizon all around.
