While the hotel room was bare-bones (exactly 1 soap, 2 towels, 2 washcloths, 1 floor mat for a room with 2 beds), it was clean and without blemish. The AC works well enough to keep the air circulating on a cool night. We stayed on a Saturday night and the some 3-8 guests in the area were loud 11:30pm-2am. Cigarette smoke bellowed in through the AC, rooms on all sides had doors that slammed every time anyone went in/out of their rooms. Would not stay at that location again.
Excellent value, quiet, good-sized room, friendly staff, excellent location. Microwave and fridge are nice extras. The entrance to the expressway to the Putnam Bridge in Hartford is just a block north. This is an older motel that has been remodeled. The bathroom still has the original 50 year-old pink and white wall tiles, which clash with the newer floor (beige) and tub (mauve). No fan in the bathroom, but otherwise satisfactory.
The inn was very affordable. There was evrn a full sized refrigerator in the room! Overall, the "Bang for your buck" was amazing! Yes the bathrooms are a little dated, adorable pink and white tiles, but they were clean and well-maintained and that's more important than how old equipment is. Also the air-conditioning unit is solid! The room cooled off so quickly I had to lower it! While the bed was very comfortable, the pillows were super thin and they only give you three on a king sized bed. But Target was just down the road and we bought an extra pillow (a whole $4). Just make sure you bring an extra pillow or two for yourselves on your stay!
Friendly staff, clean room. We extended our stay again and again to FOUR nights. Huge freezer and fridge. There was nothing to complain about
The price Everything else
Clean safe room at good price
Just a basic motel room, good for a short stay at a good price. When I first got there (around 6 pm), there was no one at the desk. A few mintures later, someone walked in the door and just stared at me. He never introduced himself or gave any indication that he worked there, then simply said, "Yeah?" To which I replied that I had a reservation. He knocked on a door and someone came out, asked for my ID and credit card and gave me a key without any conversation or instruction whatsoever.
Great deal for the price-full size fridge and microwave. A little dingy but clean. Would have liked a guest services book in the room just to get an idea of what was in the area.
I liked that the room had a microwave and refrigerator also air and heating unit. plenty of space for drawers and hanging space even though the sheets, blanket and spread were clean, they were damaged with holes and stains and the ironing board leaned, had to keep adjusting
It was a nice location, easy to park and had a liqueur store and dunkin donuts right next door so it was convenient.
The price was lowest in the region. Clean bed and bathroom. No offensive aroma in non-smoking room. Walls dirty, furniture dirty. Cold air rushing in through door jambs. no continental.
We had all we needed for our two day stay at the ABV Inn. Loved the interior especially the vintage bathroom.
Helpful,informative and kind.
The price, location (right next to the XL Center during comic con), staff was friendly, room was excellent! No breakfast included, wifi wouldn't stay connected.
The parking lot attendant was rude and not helpful
Doorman was most helpful. Room was clean & mattress super comfortable. Donna in the lounge was very accommodating with food service very late at night! Club breakfast would have enjoyed a 10:00am closing.
Beautiful clean rooms, great AC, very comfortable mattress. Cost of parking that they spring on you. They say it will be "validated" but in the end just means they'll charge you $18 at checkout.
Restaraunt closed too early
Clean and nice space. Great staff.
I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay at this Hilton. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my baby. The rooms were comfortable.
Super friendly staff, amazing beds, awesome indoor pool. Nothing....Everything was great
I like nothing Everything
I liked the big spaces and the comfort of the bed The room smell like smoke and the neighbors were noisy.
Clean and comfortable and quiet. It was a bit expensive. Starbucks in the lobby was great. Staff was wonderful. It was a bit expensive. Parking felt a bit unsafe.
There was no continental breakfast included and the options for breakfast took too long so I had to go somewhere else.
The service at the front dexk The fitness center
I really want to compliment the staff. Every person I encountered went above and beyond to be friendly, pleasant and helpful. The hotel had everything I needed and the price was reasonable. Even the garage was well lit and easy to manage ($17 per 24 hours). I would return.
Didn't like you had to pay for parking when we were staying at the hotel anyways, also for that amount there should have been continental breakfast offered.
view guy smoking outside while i waited for a ride
The breakfast was first rate!
I loved the staff. they were so helpful and accommodating. The rooms where clean and nice. They had a pool, a really cold pool. Nice breakfast variety. Mattress was hard as hell. (Think sleeping on the floor) and we tried a few beds all the same. They over charged us and we had to get Kayak/Booking to fight them to fix it. No bathtubs, only showers.
The staff is uninterested in guests in my opinion. It is very clear this hotel has not been renovated yet like the other Sheratons. Perhaps it is largely a corporate clientele, given the lounge is not open on the weekends and such. Overall, if you can stay somewhere else, do so. See above
Dog friendly and FRIENDLY staff No hot tub No double beds
The elevator on the left is the fastest elevator I've ever experienced in a hotel. My rate from booking.com didn't get properly transmitted to the hotel, and I had to take about half an hour to get it set straight, including calling booking.com and having them call the hotel. Not a huge problem, but kind of a hassle. :)
There were guests making a lot of noise security did nothing about it.Awake all night.
It was convienent and had free parking
Staff was polite and accomodating. The other guests were very loud at 3 am but that's not Sheraton's fault
Had a broken coffee pot in the room. Asked for it to be replaced and it never was. Not very good service
the bed was comfortable Room needed a little updating
The rooms were comfortable and had all the amenities we could need. The breakfast had some healthier options! Thank you! Very utilitarian and staff was excellent and very responsive. The pool was small and the view was of a busy road or parking lot. The rooms were clean but they could always be a little cleaner. No chair besides the desk chair and a small waiting room so hard to host family or friends.
Attentive staff Lighting could be better and bathroom a bit larger for two people t get ready at the same time
Staff was extremely accommodating and the room was very comfortable,
The staff was incredibly helpful. We didn't have a fridge so they ha one brought to our room and even offered us a microwave if we wanted it. Overall incredibly nice and made for an excellent stay.
Very nice & helpful staff.
The restaraunt in the hotel sucks. Food was awful.
Biscuits were put out for breakfast and asked worker if gravy was coming out - reply was - No, it's Sunday and I'm too busy. A simple no would have sufficed without the comment.
Undergoing construction. very busy place with construction workers doing interior renovations.
The breakfast and the cleanliness of the room. Very neat and tidyPlease write at least 15 words
The room was nice, clean and comfortable. In general the Hotel was very good.
Nice clean and comfortable room. Internet was free but extremely slow and took forever to connect.
the location was very convenient, it is close to the freeways and the city but not in the crowded downtown area. they provided shuttle to nearby places like rental car place and science center. They have a good wifi. renovation was ongoing during our stay and there was no advanced warning of such work going on, as a result the lobby and the hallways are dirty, dusty, noisy, and smells funky. the renovation work was not properly phased/staged to allow guests to have access to the rooms without passing through the work area. the room that was given to us was the first room from the construction work and even when I want to rest during the day I couldn't because of the noise. the room was also across the hall from the breakfast area and some people were noisy in the morning, the loudest was a fire inspector talking to a hotel staff and I could hear their entire conversation in my room. the room that was assigned also had a few issues - the phone never worked even after I complained about it several times; the lights in the bathroom was flickering, it was fixed after one complaint but they replaced one of the bulbs but not the other resulting in a weird lighting; the shower water was never stable, warms up for a few minutes then drops to cold water for a few then goes back up to warm again; they also forgot to service the room on one of the days that we stayed.
coffe maker broken
Hotel right on our route. Staff efficient and pleasant. Room clean and comfortable. Kids really liked the breakfast-- particularly the make-your-own pancake machine! A/C unit cycled on and off loudly, waking me up. Didn't bother the kids though.
The room was very clean and modern. The breakfast served and the location of the breakfast were great. I found the intermittent noise from the heater somewhat disturbing, but I guess that is true of all motels. You either put up with the noise or freeze. In this case, the noise seemed to drown out the television sound, which did not reach a very high volume anyway.
The hotel was very friendly and I felt secure by myself during my stay. Staff was very helpful
Large clean room, free internet access via WLAN and 2 Computers for guests, good breakfast, friendly person at reception.
I read some great reviews about this hotel before booking. In reality it's just a basic short stay hotel doing what you would expect at a good level. Only issue was a slight odour from the a/c unit but no real complaints, but also not a hotel I'd rave about - had no need to test the resources of the staff so highly praised in other reviews. Good simple stay!
Because we booked on "Bookaroom" we got charged $60.00 more. Call them directly - don't use kayak or an online
Loved the spacious and thoughtful layout of the rooms, the cleanliness, and the amenities.
Clean, great atmosphere, and convenient amenities. Fairly quiet considering it is near the airport. Ice machine on our floor was out of order as well as one of the elevators. Shower door in our room did not seal shut all the way, resulting in water all over bathroom floor. The woman at the front desk told us to use our towel to dry it up and had new dry towels brought to us.
The staff was so attentive and eager to please but not overbearing. They treating us with such respect and help me out when I needed it. Also saw them doing the same for all the other guests. I liked everything
I asked for a quiet room and it was the noisiest one. It seemed that another guest left the TV on at blasting volume. I could hear it clearly in my room. The bed was uncomfortable and the ac too hot. The door locks did not work properly so you had to enter the key several times to open. The desk rep was not amicable and seemed rude all the time.
Great location for our needs. Pool was cool and comfortable. Cold AC, which was important to us, as we were escaping super hot temps in our house! Bathtub didn't drain properly in our room. Walls needed to be washed, some dark marks on them, including a handprint on the bathroom wall. Went to the front desk for towels for the pool as the signs indicated we should, none were available. Not a great value for the price.
The rooms were clean and was a nice size, it's a great location, and the price was pretty reasonable. There was no do not disturb sign. The maids came at 9 am while we were sleeping. Thank god the top lock works. Scared the crap out of us. Also there was no sink in the bathroom, it's outside the door kind of in the room. It was a bit weird.
Breakfast was great, and the complimentary toothbrush was great since I forgot mine Could have been cleaner, not that it wasn't clean. I'd stay again
Price Bathroom smelled of urine.
Clean, and good location
Good location, staff was friendly and helpful Room was dated. Sink had cracks, floor tiles terribly worn. Breakfast normally is decent in LaQuintas, but today waffle batter had a sour taste
If you need to stay close to the Hartford-Bradley airport this is the place to stay. They have a goof breakfast and free transportation to and from the airport including the rental car facilities. Great value. Nothing.
Clean and comfortable
Great value. Got upgraded to a suite. Breakfast above average. I found the mattress uncommonly soft.
Clean but light on toiletries. I did really enjoy the relaxing screensaver on the TV after a long trip. Great deal for someone just looking for a place to stay, get up and go. Seems popular with flight crews. I also liked that the hot water for tea has a separate source and is untainted by coffee. That is a rarity in the hotel breakfast bars. In fact, given a choice of hotels for another night, I came back. I hate it when the tea water tastes like coffee.
Hotel efficiently set up for the traveler. Older but well maintained. (have stayed at several other hotels in the area-- of comparable price but not of equal quality) Liked that there was an actual wall thermostat to control heat/cool, the remote had a guide button, their computer had shortcuts to easily print out boarding passes, it was clean behind the bed/ bedside tables!, ..... Re breakfast: wish the hotels would use paper plates/cups and have more wholesome wholegrain breakfast items.
Convenient shuttle to and from the airport. There were stains on the bedding. And a hotel employee was banging on my door at 6:30am and before I could even get up she used her key and started letting herself in! Luckily the latch was on and she couldn't open the door, and she finally yelled 'oops, wrong room. Sorry.' It was awful.
A good balance breakfast. Punctual shuttle to airport. Comfortable bed.Good shower water pressure. Booked a non smoking room, and got a non smoking room on a smoking floor. Assured by desk clerk that the room would not have a smoke smell. Wrong. A non-smoking room on a floor of smoking rooms and hallway is going to smell like tabacco smoke. While the offer was for a non-smoking room, I had no choice but to accept the reservation. However, I find it a bit deceiving not to fully explain/disclosed that a non-smoking room is on smoking floor until upon arrival. Due to this experience, I will not recommend La Quita.
Great value. location
Room and bathroom were clean. Parking is not included in room rate. This is not clear on the hotel's listing on Kayak's site. Room and bathroom have the charm of an old dorm room. Breakfast is minimal--continental. The bargain aspects of the hotel would be ok if parking was included. With the fee for parking, the room rate is not a good value. We would have gone to another property if we knew that parking wasn't included in the room rate.
The hotel was very well located and had a great view of the capitol. It was only a few minutes from the Connecticut Convention Center, which was convenient for my work function. The parking lot outside felt extremely unsafe on several different occasions. A security guard of some sort posted outside would have helped with this. If I had been coming in after dark, I'd have been very unhappy with this situation. Luckily, I was coming in during the daytime still.
Just the location The appearance, the entrance to the hotel didn't lock. The hotel is renovating so 65% of the room were left open and dark. I will not be going back to this hotel.
Clean fresh smelling room with comfortable bed Hall way carpet needs changing
The staff was courteous, the rooms were very clean, and the location was central to a variety of attractions. It's suited my needs and my budget extremely well. The room had a bad smell upon entering, so we were forced to use body spray to freshen it up until we could get room deodorizer from the housekeeping staff. Also, the pillows were small and hard, so I would recommend bringing your own if possible. Other than that, I had absolutely no complaints about the room, the staff, or the amenities.
DAYS INN IS A VERY NICE HOTELS AND I WILL GO BACK. NICE HOTELS.
