7.1 Good
Pros: Very clean fresh and comfortable. Nice decor. Nice tea selection.
Cons: No 3 not much actual room despite quite a large floor space including bathroom. Small bed, overall cramped feel. Luckily my partner couldn’t make it otherwise it would have been a squeeze! Immersion shower not ideal, low pressure & fiddly controls. Wooden floors, stairs etc so if a light sleeper take note. Patchy WiFi. Felt a tad expensive.

Don't think that I would have changed anything about the room. Thank you.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Mount Ephraim in Faversham, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of St. Martin's Church and Whitstable Beach. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotlessly clean. There was more than enough tea and coffee in the room to keep me going. The shower was really nice. Breakfast was made to order and there was plenty of bread for toast, cereal and fruit juice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location second to none, staff friendly and helpful, room spotless, bath lovely and deep, room massive, breakfast superb.
Cons: There was a lack of hot water late in the evening so we couldn't have a bath, but we were told it was an anomaly caused by some work earlier in the day, and we were given a free prosecco tea voucher to make up for it, so you can't say fairer than that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful rooms in a lovely old stately home, in a magnificent location. Quiet, well equipped room, power shower, superb breakfast with local produce, and a 12 minute walk from a great pub in Hernhill.
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely personal service. It was great to wander round the gardens so staying for at least a couple of days is better.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Vegan breakfast
Cons: Sounded like a extract fan was running throughout the night plus our room was right next to the security light which was on all night. The room could do with black out curtains
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite & private, beautiful decor & what I had imagined it would be
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful stay here for 2 nights. Beautiful house in lovely surrounding gardens. We were in "Cook" room overlooking the terrace and topiary gardens - very comfortable and easy to arrive etc. Our hosts Amy and Ali were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us - even texting us full directions and making us reservation at the local pub The Red Lion - which was excellent too - went both nights. Allow enough time to enjoy the gardens and explore the local area. Breakfasts were delicious and wonderful sitting in the original kitchen to the house - lovely jams and gorgeous breakfasts. We wish Amy and Ali all the best for their future …. we will certainly be back when we explore some more of the area. Many thanks
Cons: Only a teeny weeny point and hardly worth mentioning but the review asks if there was anything negative - but some basic toiletries would be good - just as so many travellers don't bring the basics - bar of soap and tiny shower gel - but really not an issue!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything!nice place quite and friendly.
Cons: Loved everything!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place, came back again in a year time, and it has been as great as our first trip. We are deifintely planning to go there again and again :)... We did like eevrything. Chalet is very cosy, bed is fantastic, breakfast is wonderful, location is superb. But the best are the hosts, welcoming and friendly!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It did what it said on the tin! It was a B and B with no frills. The garden was lovely and I’m sure the chalet units would have been nice to stay in. We were in a room in the house. It was very easy to hear the noise from other rooms. But the host was very friendly and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: Rooms were a bit noisy hearing people in adjoining rooms very easily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were friendly, helpful and went the extra to be accommodating.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Well equipped with a lovely outlook
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts. 5 min drive to coasts and shops/restaurants. Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. Very comfy beds!
Cons: It was all good. Nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was absolutely pleasant! I loved the English breakfasts overlooking the sunny garden, it was a great way to start the day. I also loved the clean straightforwardness of the room. Very well-lit and refreshing! While I went to Whitstable for vacation, I also had to do some work, and my spacious room in Hillview was very much conducive to that. (I also think that I've had the best afternoon nap of my life in that place!) I will undoubtedly come back in the future!
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good: the full English very enjoyable - and not over the top in terms of size, as they can often be. There was also a really great selection of everything that one might want at breakfast: we had coffee, fruit juice, toast & marmalade, fruit salad & yoghurt - but there was so much more to choose from! The service all round was efficient and extremely friendly.
Cons: We liked everything. However, if you want something negative, then I guess, the only slight one was the drive into the property from the road. We came by bicycle, and especially on returning in the evening after a day in Whitstable and Hearn Bay (admittedly without bike lights) it was extremely dark and the surface isn't great, so it was a bit tricky. But this definitely didn't take anything away from our overall enjoyment.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Room was very cold throughout the night; heating wasn't on and couldn't be controlled from our room, even though we had the radiator set high. The room was lovely and warm when we arrived, so obviously had been switched off centrally by management. This definitely needs addressing as it was too cold to sleep properly. Such a shame. Bed, however, was very spacious and comfortable.

This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. When it comes to Herne Bay hotels, the Evening Tide is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The only reason I rated the eco-friendliness good rather than very good is because there was a plastic bottle in the room- I'm grateful for water but would think a glass bottle is perfect and is reusable.

Pros: Sheila and her cat are utterly charming. This is a classic Georgian period home. Loved our stay here for 2 nights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very warm welcome from Sheila. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms very comfortable. Location excellent. Thank you.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely period property, beautifully decorated, excellent location
Cons: Room cold, no heating on. Shower very poor flow. Cooked breakfast would be better
4.2 Okay
Pros: A quiet residential area.
Cons: The breakfast was poor, the cereal had clearly been decanted into containers for some time as all the dust from the cereal had dropped to the bottom of the container. I love continental breakfast, but not enough butter for the toast and croissants. There was honey in a tiny dish that had separated and no fresh tea or coffee, we had to use the mugs in the room. We were expected to eat breakfast on a small garden table in the room that was not very big and ended up using our laps. The experience of being away was ruined. The shower was dangerously hot or freezing cold, the decor was uninviting and a lumpy, creaky bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luvly building very spacious comfortable Sheila was really welcoming very good continental breakfast every day
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast plentiful. The location was literally less than 5 minutes from sea front. Quiet area of town

Cons: Nothing I can think of.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was fabulous - most comfortable mattress I've slept on in a hotel.
Cons: None of the fire doors had closers on them, so there were a lot of slamming doors!
4.7 Okay
Cons: Room above pub where band played until 1110' no sound insulation, when complained was asked to join in and have free drink on them.
7.0 Good
Pros: Plenty of room to move around. Bed was comfortable and the Breakfast Superb!
Cons: The Toilet roll rail was loose and the TV had only the basic five channels so definatley needs upgrading to have the Freeview Digital Channels! And coludn't get to sleep until after 11pm when the pub closes.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location, quiet and not too expensive.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The staff and customers were very friendly
Cons: The room was very compact and the small bore plumbing did make quite noise when flushing the toilet but this was shortlived
6.0 Good
Pros: It was a nice character building. Cosy
Cons: The room was at the front on the street and it was noisy there was also a lot of noise from a banging door late afternoon early evening from the pub below.
7.2 Good
Pros: The room was quaint and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that this was not a large chain hotel.
Cons: The only negative comment I have is that the toilet in our room ran all the time (but, nothing a minor plumbing repair wouldn't fix).
6.4 Good
Pros: Size of room; heat, cleanliness. Overall quality of food served. Friendly approach of staff.
Cons: Unfortunate that the pub does not serve bar meals on Sunday evenings, and was not serving on New Year's Eve. This was understandable, but somewhat inconvenient.
5.6 Okay

Cons: The menue was expencive compared to similar pub hotels that we have stayed in
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendliness of staff, position of hotel. Food was well cooked and presented, and reasonably priced, all made for an enjoyable stay. Keep up the good work. Well done to all, thank you.

It was nice to sit at a table and chat with the other couple staying there. Very relaxing and comfortable. We had a quiet garden room with its own entrance and very clean en-suite shower room. We would definitely stay here again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room in great location. Sarah was very friendly and gave good directions to town which was conveniently near. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy.

Pros: Great location and cosy room. Very kind hosts.
7.1 Good
Pros: All you need in one room. Very comfy bed. Cafe downstairs did great food.
Cons: Function downstairs until 11:30pm on the Friday which was very loud, but after that it was very quiet. No function on the Saturday so no issue. I’d therefore check if there is a function so you can stay out until after it’s finished. Also, it was quite loud outside when people were coming out the pubs. It’s a sleepy town in the day and at night it seems to come alive.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Situated right in town
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful, and very cleverly done - everything you could need was available despite how small the space was! The decor was lovely, and we were very impressed by how clean it was. Location was excellent, and the cafe downstairs was delicious.

Horses in the grounds and eggs from the resident hens. The hosts were very nice and breakfast was excellent. Parking was ample in the driveway, just park anywhere you like.
Cons: Not much to criticize in this house. All very good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners, great location with views.
Cons: No proper shower with shower curtain.

Pros: Newly refurbished rooms. High standard of cleanliness. Ample free parking. Polite and helpful staff. Good selection on breakfast menu which was very tasty. Good location, situated in nice quiet parklands just a few minutes drive from Faversham town centre.
Cons: Not enough wardrobe space. No chest of drawers for clothing. Poor lighting in bathroom and no shaver point. No clock or phone in room. These are only small points which may be addressed once refurbishment is complete and did not spoil our stay at all.
5.6 Okay
Pros: The family who run this hotel are really trying, it is a new venture and they deserve to succeed. They are friendly, cheerful and helpful. The dining room is light and pleasant and breakfast was very good. Our evening meal was of a fair standard and value for money.
Cons: If I had not previously booked and had just driven up to this hotel I would not have even entered,it does not look like an hotel and the surroundings are rather derelict as this is part of an older hotel that was destroyed by fire. However I would have been the loser. They still have some way to go getting things quite right in the rooms (mirrors and electric plugs etc and no glasses in the bathroom) but these are only minor.
6.8 Good
Pros: Excellent staff - the 2 guys are extremely friendly and helpful and making an enormous effort. The rooms were well decorated.
Cons: Lumpy bed on 1 side. Shower going hot/cold.

Cons: Bit noisy at night but then it is a pub!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was in lovely surroundings. Eggs were cooked to perfection - a sign the chef really can cook in my opinion. Really welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Chatted to the chef as he had cooked a superb hake dish for me the night before. I think we put the world to rights, and sorted out Brexit as well! I would definitely recommend the restaurant. Location of this hotel and restaurant is perfect for the station and taxi's if you fancy a very good beer and a meal without driving. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the place is charming as well as great value for money. Bedroom cosy, roomy and plenty of hot water and I had a wonderful view of the local carnival which was a real surprise. Despite being near the station and on a fairly main road, I still slept like a log. I would certainly stay again.
Cons: Please take the following less as a moan or criticism, rather than an observation about a couple of things that just need a little attention. Whenever I leave a hotel, I aim to put the room back as I found it, and I always strip the bed. This is because I am an ex chambermaid and know what it is to service large rooms on your own and I try to respect the venue. It can be a very tiring job and people can make a lot of work . Anything done to ease the work is often appreciated. I remember it well! The pillows are badly stained and need replacing and pillow protectors put on them. Two of them were very yellow. The toilet brush holder was brim full of brown poopy water. When I lifted the brush to use it to clean the loo the brush was immersed in this water, quite soiled, and I had to empty the container as it was almost overflowing. I then did a rudimentary cleaning job on the brush and holder as best I could with hand wash as there was no loo cleaner. I'm not precious about doing this, as ex hotel staff myself, I've seen a lot worse, (mostly by inconsiderate guests). If I had access to clean sheets and cleaning stuff I would happily deal with my own room, however, there are some guests who would make a lot of trouble over these things and write rotten reviews. Your hotel is absolutely lovely and very charming and you don't deserve that. I hope my comments don't offend, they aren't meant to as the room service ladies were lovely and everything else was clean and tidy. Maybe, if you change the loo brush holders and a few new pillows too, the above could be remedied really easily and also make the ladies jobs easier as well?

Pros: This is a lovely hotel. The staff were all really friendly and they made us feel so welcome. We had the room with the four-poster and it was great. It was delicious. Could not fault this hotel and would highly recommend it. We will definitely be going back.

Well done all
