First off let me state that we are real customers, not a shill for the hotel. The price was good, and the sheets appeared to be freshly washed. The beds were comfortable & room was generally clean, but a bit run down. Setting was quiet, and the desk clerk was a friendly character. Plenty of hot water, and generally quiet. Location is close to a handful of local & chain restaurants - Xenia is not a large town. Overall opinion: A little sprucing up and a few repairs would go a long way to upgrade this property. Potential to be a very nice local stay.
I had hoped for more - more what? Well, the room was supposed to be non-smoking but it reeked of cigarettes (plus some sort of putrid freshener to try and cover it) and had burn marks along the edge of the tub as a testimony. Entry door and latch were sloppy lending no sense of security, and had the weather been cold would have been quite drafty. Shower enclosure had been crudely patched with some sort of epoxy, and the counter space around the sink did not instill a sense of cleanliness. Chunks of ceiling texture were missing with no attempt to repair. No spare blanket, had to strip from the other bed. Day to day cleaning appeared to be good, but longer term repairs and maintenance were poor to absent. Continental breakfast was a bad joke; coffee plus your choice of stale cereals in bulk dispensers, in the 8x8 lobby with 2 tiny tables. I was told at check-in that bagels would also be available in the morning - we skipped this part.
