Stair and other carpets in need of replacement or deep clean. Bathroom extract fan and top of wardrobe not cleaned
Great food and friendly staff. Lovely warm room.
Breakfast ok. Rather big for me. Slightly awkward turn off the main road when you are not a local but plenty of parking.
A lovely warm welcome. We were given a different room to the one booked as it was better for us. Room decor was a little shabby but we were aware that the hotel is undergoing a rolling programme of refitting the rooms. But it was reasonably clean, warm and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and they were quite happy to change items on the set menu for us. it's an ideal base if you want to visit some of the attractions in the area. But don't expect 5 star hotel facilities if that's what you are used to. I've stayed in worse places. But we would certainly stay there again.
Bed was a bit uncomfortable and pillows were far too soft. I need a firm pillow due to a neck problem but will take my own if we stay there again. Some people might be put off by some of the decor but they are undergoing a rolling programme of refitting all the rooms and can obviously only do so many at a time or lose out on custom.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
