we liked the room very nice and a beautiful view from the balcony the staff were very friendly and nice.the beach facilities were lovely also good sunbeds .The decor is lovely no
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, they arranged a tour to Stromboli and gave all necessary information, despite their limited language skills. There was even someone with an umbrella waiting for us when it rained one evening . The beach was clean and quiet. The restaurant on the beach was beautiful. Free parking. Beautiful seaview from our room. I can't think of anything
Great people, Great Service, Great room with balcony and a fantastic view over one of the most pristine beaches of the Calabria's coastline. I can't think of anything wrong!
Very helpful staff and made every effort to ensure an enjoyable visit. Although we travelled off season, we had a very enjoyable visit. Close to the sea and mountains and Tropea.
Staff was wonderful, very helpful. Our room had an ocean view also view of Tropea. Was amazing! Breakfast was good with a large selection of items. I would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers.
Everything. the place was beautiful ., and a great location. None at all
nothing too far away from everything, the room was small and only one pillow, They charge 5 euros to 'clean' the room but bed was not made and the ashtray not cleaned. The restaurant closed very early, and was a far walk from the main hotel and they locked the gate on the only stairway from the rooms to the reception and exit. which wasnt unlocked till 7am.
Excellent value for money. Lovely sea view of Stromboli from our terrace. Private beach only 5 min walk away. As there was no air conditioning it was quite stuffy and if leaving the windows open, you let in the mosquitos. But for a few days it was bearable.
-nice location, -directly by sea, -sandy beach, -very pleasant and helpful staff, -appartment with privacy, -proper good equipped kitchen, -coolroom,freezer,range,electrooven, -large bedroom with TV, -private little verandah, -directly in situ free parking ...absolutely we recommend! -but this not bedness: little complicated access from SS/522
We loved the hotel room, and the location! It was as if we had our own private beach all to ourselves. We really enjoyed the scenery and the 'old' Italy feel. Unfortunately, our great experience was shadowed when we got to our next hotel, and realized that the staff at Il Calabriano Residence hotel kept our travel passports. It made the rest of our trip in Italy rather complicated.
Location Lack of charm
Hotel Tropis is new modern hotel, new of the city center and railway station. Service they provided to me was very nice. I'd like to recommend this hotel
This brand new property left absolutely nothing to be desired, except for maybe a slightly better breakfast which was still decent by Italian standards. Great location in Tropea, 2 blocks away from the center of town. Beautiful pool, nice sized rooms with every amenity you could want. Free shuttle to the beach every 30 minutes. The only problem we had was that the wi-fi wasnt working properly, but the hotel is also only 2 months old so im sure they will have that taken care of soon.
The hotel looked lovely. Good location just what we wanted A lovely hotel but let down a bit by the staff. We asked for a couple of beers the didn't have a bottle opener at the Bar we asked for two glasses of wine they didn't have a bottle opener for that. The lad went to find one but came back after 15mins lifting his hands in the air saying cannot find one anywhere. The breakfast was very poor for a 4 star hotel. We thought at first that the hotel had just opened there was a man still putting beading silicone on the pool doors outside. But the staff seemed to have a lackey daisy attitude.
Cleanliness. Room had a beautiful seaview from balcony. Plenty of hot water. Excellent heating in room The staff
There is nothing to praise. Appartements of this hotel were dislocated from the main building and were in such bad condition that did not deserve any serious commentary. We saw nice pictures of this hotel on web site, but that were not our appartements. They are not worth any money and try to avoid them!
Staff very unfriendly, didnt't make an effort to make us feel welcome. Very basic accomodation by comparasion to other hotels we stay in the area for the same price.
friendly staff good service
Very unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Very poor breakfast...with plastic plates and cups (in a 3* !)
Place was pleasant enough but needs upgrading A bit run down
elegant and completely devoid of american tourists
The location was ideal. Just a short drive to the beach and to Tropea. The beds were not soft enough.
unbelievable value for price
Very friendly and efficiently staff Excellent pool Fine residence with all you need in the kitchen Large balcony with very nice views Quiet suroundings Private beach with sun chairs shuttle bus to town and beach -
Excellent and pleasant installations, clean and confortable. Good breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. A little bit far from the beach and the city center, but not a problem at all if you have a car.
The staff service and food were excellent The beach was a little to far to walk
Friendly, helpful staff who were always on hand to provide any assistance. Spotlessly clean swimming pool with a well stocked bar alongside. Importantly the area is comfortable with sufficient sun lounger provision. Great sea-facing location with the beach and the resort centre at Tropea a brisk downhill walk away (a shuttle service provision at regular intervals for those less inclined / able.) The overall food choices were excellent and the waiting staff attentive and courteous. Thank you Stefani and Danny in particular for your guidance through the various menus. An excellent base for a family holiday and a great place to catch up on all that reading... No an excellent value for money choice.
Large room, effective air conditioning, nice pool A bit of a trek to the beach and to Tropea, although the hotel does run a shuttle bus to both
Location is amazing, the staff is welcome, a lot of flowers and plants in the area of the hotel. The buses are going from hotel to nearest, very beautiful town Tropea and return, Also, to the hotel's beach. The apartments are not privacy enough, but it's ok if you have good and quiet neighbours
cool little hotel, good breakfast and decent value.nice pool and it was fairly quiet when we were there (june). hotel offers umbrella & sun loungers at the beach for free. tropea is more than 1 km away. it is a good 30 mins walk and the beach(nice beach) is 10 mins walk away on the main road. the hotel offers a bus to both the beach(only 3 or 4 times a day) and tropea(only 3 times at night). so if u are without a car it can be a bit frustrating. still would recommend this place
a gem of a hotel, expertly run by Alessandro and his family & even found time to take us to the train station on our departure - cannot fault it. would go back tomorrow, P White, UK
Cleanliness and standard of apartment accommodation. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good location for beach and town.
Large rooms fully self contained, so you can do your own cooking if you want. We were allowed to use the hotel laundry facilities. Great view of Tropea and surrounds from viewing deck. Soon to have a roof top spa operational. Still some construction work being completed but it wasn't a major hassle. Although on the outskirts of Parghelia, it was very confusing to initially find the hotel
Very nice apartment of 2 rooms near old town, good to have a car a little bit far away from beach,we had a car, so it was not a problem. The rooms against the kitchen are noizy all the day ,also at night and early morning. We asked to change the rooms but didn't get smth else.
The best three nights of our entire vacation! The staff treated us like family and we can't wait to return. The rooms are spacious, well- equipped and very clean. The entire family-run operation was top notch and we extended our stay. No pool, but rooftop whirlpools and private beach access make up for it! Difficult to find, but any person in the town can't point you there!
1. Rooms are of a good size, very neat and come with a balcony; 2. garden is beautifully maintained; 3. Possibility to use an open air solarium at the roof (included in price), with splendid panorama of Tropea; 4. Possibility to park a car in a garage; 5. Good value for money Kitchen could have been better equipped (no wine glasses for instance). Also be aware that hotel is located at a considerable walking distance from a beach (I would rate it approx. 15 mins to the beach and 20 mins from, as it's up the hill). You will also need a car to go to Tropea.
It was peaceful, clean and tidy, with friendly proprietors, spa and availability of local information. Nothing.
Excellent place to relax and self-cater for a while.
Location close to Tropea, Jacuzzi on roof No
Having a car is essential as the accommodation is slightly outside Tropea, but the location is quiet and views from the roof terrace are superb.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the pool was nice. The breakfast could have had more fruit and pure orange juice.
The service was excellent. The rooms were modern and the view from the balcony was amazing. This was the best resort I stayed at on my tour of Italy. The breakfast is excellent and since it is served on the roof, the view while eating is amazing.
The hotel was friendly and the location was good Breakfast was poor and flies were on the food which was uncovered. Hot food was cold.
near tropea easy to find good location friendly staff
the staff is great, really helpful and friendly. Easy access to the hotel and then to move by car to Tropéa or any other close cities. Decoration (hotel or berooms), atmosphere (terrace or siwmming pool), everything is done to make you feel special. It's one of the best hotel i've stayed in my life!
The pool, breakfast and standard of decor were all high and good value for money. Staff were also good, and put themselves out to let us check in early. We chose the hotel mainly as an affordable place to stay in Tropea, and were pleased with the price on that basis, but it was such an attractive place in itself that we ended up spending more time relaxing at the hotel than we'd imagined. The location is good for central Tropea.
Breakfast could have been a little more in its offering and quality.
Fantastic quiet hotel with very friendly and helpful staff
Wonderful bird life in garden. Very pleasant staff. Nice modern bathroom. Nice terrace and furniture. View of Stromboli and islands from the terrace. Enough electric sockets for laptop, mobile and camera batteries. Rooms facing the road and railway are noisy. There was no heating when we arrived - but this was fixed and the room was fine the second day onwards. The internet connection was pretty disastrous but rain and landslides had caused Telecom communications to break down - hardly the fault of the hotel who did their best.
position, price, comfort and room were all excellent lack of staff on hand whne neededbreakfast was poor quality
Everything was fantastic - room, placement, staff and breakfast. Highly recomend to those who love authentic surroundings. Free wi-fi internet that worked in room was a plus.
Excellent breakfast. Impossible to find; Hotel is actually three flights up with no elevator. Bed extremely uncomfortable.
the room was nice, very good air con. lovely roof terrace, nice breakfast. very central. no hair dryer in the room and lots of steps
The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in the center of the old town in Tropea and close to shops, restaurants and bars. A huge breakfast is served on a lovely rooftop terrace with views over the town to the sea. The hotel is in a fabulous old building and the rooms are beautifully furnished. The only drawback for some people might be that the hotel is on the third floor and there is no lift
We liked everything: atmosphere, design, location, lunch, non intrusive, but very friendly staff, buildng itself If you do not want to wake up earlier the church bell could be annoying (we feel though that it just adds to experience, but not all people would agree)
