Front Desk staff was very professional, helpful, and pleasant The hotel was worn out, run down, many facilities adverstised were closed for the winter, the breakfast service was poor as the help was more involved joking and laughing in the kitchen than caring for customers, the room maid was rude and scolded my wife when she did not hang out a "Please clean the room now" card. Not 4 star quality, definately not a SLH. That was my last stay there.
The hotel located in high place and has a wonderful view. It is not in vicenza city as written, the place is near the city. I did not receive the nice room that was show in the picture. I receive unattractive room. I have to insist to have the room that I ordered in booking.com. The stuff was unpleasant and impatient.
Very quiet and a fine view from the bedroom. Service is crucial to a hotel - it was poor at this one. The concierge was almost comically surly and unhelpful. The restaurant was also disappointing - fine service, but poor food.
Enjoyed the use of the swimming pool and relaxing at the terrace.
In an otherwise fairly flat area the setting of the hotel near Vicenza is very good sited in an olive grove with views down the nearby valley at the rear with lovely morning views as we had the lake/valley view room. Lady proprietor very helpful. Good breakfast. Room cold on arrival as heating had not been turned on in anticipation of our arrival during coldish spell and in general hotel and rooms felt cold. Had to send one restaurant meal back as so called braised meat was very fatty and chewy. We were hoping for more from the hotel restaurant but were a little disappointed bearing in mind the photographs on the booking site. Mini bar in the room but totally empty. I do not however want to over criticise this hotel as I feel it is a work in progress as the owner has just taken it over and I am hopeful it will improve if her enthusiasm is anything to go by.
