We are located at the heart of Zurich, not far from the main railway station and directly on the River Sihl, right where the pulsing creativity of Kreis 4 meets the banking district around Paradeplatz. By calling ourselves a boutique hotel we are committing ourselves to individualized, personalized hospitality. Our rooms are notable for their urban flair, their hint of dandy chic but also for their appealing cosiness: Home sweet Helvetia is the motto we try to live up to. Each room has a different floor plan, and each has its own made-to-measure furnishings. The interiors were created by top Zurich design firm atelier zürich, and the art concept was developed by freelance curator Christoph Doswald. The pictures in the rooms come from the collection of our neighbour, the Haus Konstruktiv museum. Helvetia has developed a new concept of Swiss hospitality which brings together Swiss style, cuisine and culture in a way that has not been seen before in Zurich. Set in the heart of Zurich the Helvetia houses a stylish boutique hotel, a restaurant recently awarded 15 Gault Millau points, and a bar with a rich and varied history. The kitchen, presided over by renowned chef Françoise Wicki, is dedicated to contemporary Swissness with a menu that pays due homage to Switzerland s rich gastronomic traditions. The bar has been retained in its original splendour and the 19th century character has been lovingly maintained, mixing elements of Art Nouveau with dandy chic. Geographically, the restaurant, bar and 16-room hotel are at exactly the point where Zurich s busy banking district meets the pulsating, youthful, creative Kreis 4 district. cultured international stylish New York Times laid back fun The Guardian
Great hotel, very attentive staff, good location
No trouser press or Iron.
Excellent taste in all part of the hotel: bar, restaurant and rooms. Feel at home very quickly. Nice staff. Wish we had more time to enjoy the bar in the evening.
Parking is possible on weekend in the nearby street but could be a problem during the week. but there is not much negative thing to say about this hotel
Breakfast was generous. It was good having a coffee machine in our room.
Room was a bit small.
The hotel room and bathroom are very clean. Small double room is real small yet still enough for a couple.
Couldn't use water in shower and basin at the same time! Quite dangerous --- the water in shower turns boiling in a split second once turn on the cold water in basin.
good location, nice staff, room was very clean but small for the four of us
I liked it all, from the design and decor to the polite and helpfull staff, delicious restaurant food, simply a pleasure to visit.
The only negative experience I had was when I noticed a stain on the bed linen on the night of our following visit (Jan 5, 2010). Other than that, all was 'very' clean. I would suggest you put 'very good' as an option between the 'good' and 'excellent' dot point questions above in "2. The Hotel".
the location was good. the rooms comfortable and clean. The view from my room window nice.
The hotel entrance is trough a restaurant were people can smoke.
Partying by other guests to 3am plus noise of trains and traffic
Good location, small but nice room, friendly staff
