The bed was lumpy, pillows flat (I even bought my own), the ice was taken by the work men, the pool was gross. There weren't any amenities to speak of (2 bars of soap), that's all. Coffee was available in lobby. It was far from town, ACU, my family (stayed in the loop). It worked ok as a place to lay my head at night, changed clothes, and take a shower. I decided to attend ACU graduation at the last minute (1 month ahead), every one knows when graduation is and EVERY Hotel in town was FULL.
The room was clean and tidy enough.....a place to sleep and take a shower, but not much of anything else. The bedding was a little worn and the pillows were lousy....I went and bought my own at K-mart--nearby. Although it had a pool, it didn't look too inviting---I didn't have time to use it either. They had not made my bed or replaced the towels on Saturday by noon, when I came back from seeing downtown Abilene with my family. I changed for the graduation--asking the maid for a towel as she worked nearby. When I returned after the graduation and dinner, much later, the bed had not been made nor were there any new towels. the place was clean and adequate but I probably would not recommend it
This hotel is not a place to stop and spend the night. We were on our way to new mexcio and stopped to spend a night in abeline. THe room was dirty, the rug was so dirty I would not take my shoes off. we brought in sleeping bags to sleep in and my skin was still crawling after we woke up. I would not use the shower . The ajoining rooms were not locked just tables pushed up against the doors to stop the other guests from getting into your room. I would not recomend this inn to anyone. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! check out the room before you pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place was a joke! They charged * a night and it was nasty. The toilet didn't work we had to get a plunger from the office. Half the lights and outlets didn't work. We had to go buy our own pillows theirs were so bad. I would NOT recommend it to anyone and would never stay there again!!!!
We were very satisfied with our stay here. It was great! the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the pool. We will be back next time. Thank you.

This place was really nice and quiet. The service was great. Our room was clean and our bed comfortable. It was a good location for visiting our family. We will stay here again. Thank you.
This was the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. We decided to stay over night, and not drive home. This hotel was filthy. There was even blood on the matress where it looked like someone had been shot. The dividing partician had holes in it. The beds were matresses on cinderblocks. There were people outside the door, and were so scary I didn't want to enter the room. I didn't sleep all night becasue there were parties going on in both rooms beside me. When I called the front desk, they told me it was my problem. The lighting was so bad that outside there was more light at night. DON'T WALK ON THE FLOOR WITH BARE FEET. There was glass and other sticky stuff on the floor. There were also mice and cockroaches. Needless to say we didn't stay long. I will never stay here again.
Checked on Friday, April 25th, 2008. The room with filthy and smelled like mildew and stale cigarettes. The shower had mold and the toilet had dead bugs in it. 20 minutes later, I was at the front desk asking for a refund for a two night stay. The manager gave me a full refund. Less than a month later I had a charge on my credit card, for a date that I was not at the hotel. Several calls to the manager/owner (with promises from him to check in to the matter) resulted in no call back to resolve the unauthorized charge!
I have been staying at the Royal Inn in Abilene for many years. It is an excellent place to stay. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. It is a great falue for the money with clean, comfortable rooms. I plan to continue staying here when I am in the area. Thank you.
I have been staying here off and on during the last 4 years. I feel like family everytime I stay here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff knows me by name and are very friendly and helpful. Thank you.
This was by far the worst experience that I have had at a hotel. Let's start with the bed, the sheets were dirty as well as stained, the pillows were completely flat, and the bed cover had cigarette burns in it. The bathroom wasn't much better, the floor was dirty, the bathtub hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. The room looked as if it had bodily fluids all over the walls next to the bed. The door had been previously kicked in and repaired. They advertised a continental breakfast which consisted of packaged sticky buns, mini powdered doughnuts, generic fruit loops, coffee, and some spoiled fruit. The best part of the whole experience was that the employees were pleasent and helpful. I wouldn't reccomend this hotel to ANYONE!!
At Royal Inn you stay like Royal. Get service for Royal.
I had to kill a roach over my bed when I walked in. The rug was filthy, with holes as were the upholstered chairs. The hanging light was missing bulbs, the glass shades that were there were broken. I was woken at 3:30 AM to a MOUSE joining me in my bed and on my pillow, also nightstand. I packed up and went to the office demanding my money back but told since I had been there since 8:25 PM I wasn't entitled to a refund!! I then had to sleep in my car until the AM since I was not going to pay for another room at a DECENT motel since I had a job interview the next morning!! .
