I've stayed multiple times at this location because it's inexpensive and close to the highway... Never again! This last time was horrible. People were extremely intoxicated and smoking weed in the hallway. I called the front desk numerous times regarding the noise and chemically altered mess in the hallway screaming at 1am. There was also a lot of damage to the room when we arrived. I called the front desk who in turn sent up maintaince, who basically laughed at the broken door, random bolts and screws laying around and wall unit falling off the wall. Spend extra money and stay somewhere safe and clean!
Proximity of the room to the parking lot It reeked of smoke as soon as I walked in the building
Was just an overnight stay on our way to another destination At check in the person was rude and would hardly give us the directions to our room. She just pointed us in the general direction finally we found our room around the motel in the back.
Bed stained, smoke detector wires exposed, holes in blanket. People roaming hallways yelling
Nothing I wouldn't wish this absolute dump on my worst enemy
if you're paying 45$/night, then don't expect a 5 star hotel. So it is fair for the price: clean bathroom, clean room, good TV channel selection, friendly staff and free coffee before 10 am.. Fine if you're staying one night or two and need a bed to crash. definitely ask for a room on the 2nd floor. A guy was checking rooms at night trying to steal stuff by entering through the windows of the 1st floor.. I never found the elevator also so I had to carrry my bags in the staircases.
Really clean rooms! Nice and modern looking. Only thin blankets.
For only have a 2 star average my group of 6 adults were nervous, but it exceeded our expectations in cleanliness and comforts. Plenty of space, free parking, friendly staff. Even though we were in NON-Smoking rooms, the stench of cigarettes gave one of my friends a bloody nose in the morning. Had to sleep with the window open (in February) in order to get some fresh air. Found black mold on the windows. The bathroom smelled like there was a person chain smoking in there. I think the vents must be connected to where the staff/customers are smoking outside. Heard bloody murder screaming in the middle of the night, and found used condoms and rags covered with an unknown substance outside of our rooms and vehicles in the morning. It is listed as a family friendly motel, but I would not subject a child to the smells and sounds. Did not feel safe.
Beautiful lakeside, downtown location.
The location It was way too expensive for what the hotel offered. The only rooms left were ones listed as "lake view" which means a 4'x10' concrete area facing a cove with two lawn chairs. You can hear the people who dock their boat there at night and the morning. It's a fairly decent motel room that is priced at least twice as much as you would pay anywhere else. With taxes and fees the two nights cost about $600, quite a surprise for upstate NY. Only choose here if it's one of the last places available, which we did.
Great place and walking distance to museum
The location is ideal - less than two blocks from the Hall of Fame - and it is right on the edge of the lake. It was dark, uncomfortable, the bathroom fan sounded like an air raid warning, the walls were bare, and the sofa rock hard. At $150 a night this might have been okay - at $300 pretty much unacceptable.
My trip was just an overnight stay - with my 22 year old son. I chose this venue because of its location to the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum. It did not disappoint - it was within a few blocks walking distance. Our room was right on the lake - very nice setting, as was the dining area outside the hotel restaurant. Complimentary breakfast, and boat tour on the lake was included. Very clean, but smallish (queen size) room. Free parking was nice (not much parking in Cooperstown). I would definitely stay again.
Visited this hotel in Winter and the heat was not controllable in the rooms as the regular heating system was malfunctioning requiring heat to be pumped through the central AC. The result - some very high temperatures and major discomfort in the rooms. The staff was great and very apologetic and the rooms were otherwise very clean. It would've been nice to receive a discount of some kind (not sure if it was already baked into the price online) to account for the heating issue. Overall, the location, staff, and cleanliness of the hotel balanced out the heating issue.
Wonderful staff, perfect location Rooms a bit too cozy but not terrible
The hotel is right on Lake Otsego and it is a beautiful setting. The entire facility is updated and very clean. The proximity to town and other local attractions is very convenient. The room was a litlle cramped. There was an exhaust fan in the bathroom that sounded like a jet engine. It didn't have a seperate switch so it went on every time you turned the light on. VERY annoying. Be aware there are NO cancellations. We were going to leave one night early to visit old friends we hadn't seen in 30 years, and they would not refund the one night. The woman at the front desk was not very personable, however the other staff members we met were all friendly.
The walls were disgusting room was dirty didn't even start the second night
Um... Pros? Sheesh... It's cheap. Close to the airport. Just gross. Didn't have the king room we booked. Had to get two full needed instead. Willing to bet there isn't a King sized bed in that entire place. It's just a cheap, dive motel. The room next to us was clearly being lived in as an efficiency. Old mattresses, lumpy pillows, cigarette burn in the blanket. Just a gross place.
My fiancé and I stayed at Bayside Inn & Marina for 1 night. It was a lovely stay. The room was ready for us when we arrived, check in was simple. The room was immaculate in terms of cleanliness which was huge for me. We walked down to their beach/picnic area and it was beautiful. The views of the lake and the lake water itself - gorgeous. We just sat outside for most of the evening. When it was time to get dinner, we asked for a recommendation of light fare and got a great one, came back to the hotel and ate by the lake. The next day we were able to get up and borrow one of the hotel kayaks for free and take it out on the lake for an hour, so beautiful! When it was time to leave, we asked for a recommendation for brunch and were sent to the Double Day cafe in Cooperstown and had a wonderful meal. Overall a great experience, I would definitely go back! The hotel isn't within a reasonable walking distance to Cooperstown center but it's an easy price to pay for the gorgeous lake views and access.
Extremely friendly staff, well kept grounds, clean rooms, quiet, beautiful lake view, will stay every time i go to this area!! Had a fire in the firepit out by lake at night and met new friends. Took their kayak out in the morning at sunrise. Beautiful!
Convenient to I-87. The hallway smelled on cigarette smoke and lack of elevator.
It was a great room. No complaints.
Hotel was clean. Staff courteous.
The room is very CLEAN! I like the location, easy to go eat, or some shopping if need. Convince to access from highway. where we eat breakfast, the table isnt enough for everyone as once. Thats all.
I have been trying out several hotels in the area, and now that I found this place, my research is complete. For the price, the cleanliness, the location, the mattress, the friendliness of staff, the overall feeling of being safe, and a decent free breakfast on top of it all - this will be my go-to hotel from now on! There was nothing negative that I could find about this place.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, when I decided to stay an extra day, there wasn't a problem and was charged the Kayak price which I didn't expect. The free breakfast was awful, after the first morning I ate at the Denny's next door, which gave a 10% discount and was great.
People, location, cleanliness Room decor, a very faint smell of cigarettes
No fridge in room cost extra
Room was clean Room smelled bad which persisted throughout the entire stay
We had a medical appointment in Cooperstown. The Red Carpet Hotel was very convenient and more reasonable than others of equal quality. We will use your hotel again.
The location was ideal. They claimed to have free wi-fi and breakfast, but there were neither. The rooms were decently clean, but I found some dirty socks on the floor and a hole in the wall when I arrived. Shower didn't drain properly. It was way too expensive for what I received. And there were only double beds, no queen beds!
They had rooms available less than $200/night. Outside of town, small beds, no breakfast, wifi was totally unusable, way too much money for what you got.
Reasonably close to Cooperstown village and Dreams Park baseball fields. Across the street from fishing docks and swimming in the lake. Very reasonable prices during peak season. Strong AC window unit. Nice staff. Musty smelling room due to lack of bathroom ventilation so all of the humidity is stuck in the room. Old tube style TV (some rooms have flat LCDs). Beds are terrible....lumpy, squeaky and old. Wifi was very sporadic and slow. Parking can be tight for certain units next to the entrance.

the cleanliness the price, tv's in either room i was put into did not work, the 'continental breakfast' was a joke. Had some cups of yogurt on ice (which weren't that bad), cups of fruit (which were warm and disgusting), watered down OJ. Just went to McD's instead.
I will only stay here when I visit Cobleskill. Te manager, is a very friendly and helpful individual

Friendly staff, room was fine and spacious
The bed was comfortable That no eggs available for breakfast
The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was a decent and fast option. The staff was a little slow at refilling the breakfast buffet, they were out of coffee for about 10minutes and all of the juices were empty at 9:30 am. They seemed overwhelmed with the amount of guests.
Clean, friendly staff, convenient

Staff was friendly and courteous, and efficient. The trains go by at night, and if you are a light sleeper, it may wake you up. Location problem, not a hotel facility or staff problem.
Convenient location and cleanliness.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The refrigerator was very useful to have. It was a great shower. The mattress was too hard. It caused major back pain for me and my daughter.
