I enjoyed my stay at the Kaliopa hotel, and I would certainly stay there again. I believe that it is an excellent value for the money. My stay was for 3 nights in September, in a double room on the 2nd floor, with a balcony, and a view towards both the pool and the beach, with breakfast, included. The hotel’s reception staff were all pleasant and courteous, and their English was fine. My room itself was simple, not fancy, but was fine, and most importantly, was clean. The hotel’s location is excellent – right on the beach, and you have the use of an umbrella and adjustable/reclining chair to lie down on, provided for free by the hotel. The buffet breakfast (about 3 minutes’ walk to Amelia restaurant) has a really great selection.
A few things to be aware of: (1) In my case, I was told that the rooms are cleaned only every other day (which did not bother me). (2) There was confusion over the currency required for the final bill payment. (When I checked in, though I had booked in Euros, they said that I had to pay in Leva. But, when I checked out, they did allow payment in Euros.) (3) You should try to have all of the Leva that you will need for your entire Albena stay with you, prior to arrival, because an artificially low exchange rate has been set in all of Albena, for at least the USD/Leva & Euro/Leva exchange rates. (Once you have arrived in Albena, you can still get the market exchange rate at one of the banks outside of Albena (E.G., in the nearby Balchik)
Close to the beach, good entertainment for children, big refrigerator, nice seaside view, useful small kitchen.
The floor was cold without carpet
Close to beach
Smells in rooms on the first floor
Hotel Kaliopa is extremely close to the beach - you just go out of your room and you are at the beach. Food is good - Good value for the money
The room is spacious, it has double bed and a bunk bed +small kitchen. This is very convenient for the family with kids. Buffet meals are reasonably good quality
It was cold and wet in the roomds on the first floor - and our friends who lived there had to change the room
Location of hotel is excellent. The staff is very nice. The excellent quality vs price.
The rooms are dirty and the first floor have a unpleasant smell.
Very close to the beach.
The room was not ready for check in till 17 30. The personal of the hotel was not kind . When I ve asked them why it takes so much to give me the room they started to scream at me. The hotel dosen`t worth the money they ask for . The breakfast is served at another hotel considerably far from Kaliopa. The room had a smell. There are no parking places. When I`ve asked where i can park my car they answered that they don`t care. You cannot pay in euro. The price is in euro but you have to pay in leva.
It was right on the beach - a perfect stting
It was very close to the beach.
just the rate I paid for
definately needs nevonation - the evaluation is concerning anothers hotel called Dobrudja. Because they called me from Kalliopa to inform me that they did not have an available room in Kaliopa so they will move me to Dobrudja
