For the best reasons, you might have a hard time getting a room at this hotel! Be prepared to reserve well in advance. The location is superb, and the quality, comfort, and cleanliness of the premises are faultless. The friendliness of the staff is outstanding. From helping with a city map, to restaurant recommendations, plus arranging a taxi, they are the best! Of the many fine places I stayed in Europe, this one had the best combination of everything. And it was sooo comfortable! How superb is the location? The major art museums and the splendid concert hall are five to ten minutes walking. Around the corner and one block down is the tram stop. From there all of Amsterdam is easily reachable. Having breakfast on site is another bonus. Nice selection, prepared right there. Makes for a good start to the day.
No complaints whatsoever. Just a recommendation to use the elevator if you are not accustomed to stairways typical of Dutch buildings (and the stairs at Hotel Fita aren't as steep as the ones found in a lot of B&Bs in Amsterdam!). On occasion, drunk tourists can make a racket in the middle of the night out on the street (it is mortifying to note they are speaking English). The hotel has no control over this, but thankfully the drunks soon move on (or the neighbors call the police), so my sleep was hardly interrupted. No place is immune to this. You won't need to bring earplugs; just be forewarned it might happen. In reality, Hotel Fita is far quieter than most, and the sound insulation between the rooms is the best I've experienced in Europe.
Should have been much cleaner. Needs better window isolation
Friendly, helpful staff , a great breakfast and location, made this hotel memorable.

The staff of this family-owned hotel made us feel like family. Great breakfast (with Dutch pancake!), two blocks from tram connections, 1 block to museums. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Made our visit to Amsterdam special.
