Hampshire Hotel – Lancaster Amsterdam is in the centre of Amsterdam, in Plantagebuurt, and is an ideal family hotel. This sociable neighbourhood on the east of the city has numerous great cafés and restaurants. Of course you shouldn’t miss a visit to the area’s most well-known attraction: Artis Zoo. With tropical fish in the monumental Aquarium, giraffes, elephants and other small, large, loveable and exciting animals.
Breakfast had a variety of food.
Only one staff at reception counter each time - there was a line of guests queueing up to check in. Bathroom was horribly small
our hotel room was gorgeous, and we had a view across the little park which was lovely,
nothing, all good :-)
Very comfortable bed. Room was quiet, cosy and the heating worked well. Hotel is right near a tram stop and only a short walk into the centre of Amsterdam. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Bathroom was tiny. More like a shower room than a bathroom. Would expect more space for the price.
I didn't like the following: 1) Despite of my wish to have a nice view room, I was given a room at -1 floor without any view at all, as the room was below the ground level. 2) The carpet was very dirty, it seems like it has never been cleaned at all. 3) The walls are very thin, so you can easily hear everything that is happening in the neighbour rooms. 4) too high charge for such room, no value for money.
Lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable, in a green area, near parks, in front of tram stop (3 stops, you are in rembrandt square!!!). Professional staff, free internet access in hall, you can buy there tram tickets or rent a bike. There's a coffé to walk just near it, so you can have a very good breakfast. Lovely, believe me!
What's bad in this hotel? Nothing! Ok, toilet is a little bit small, but, who cares? Am I supposed to live in the room? No!
The room was like a cell, so small. The bath was small too, can't really move in it. The bed was not comfortable, the mattresses to soft and the carpet looks old & was dirty.
central location to dam square or leidsiplein.
it was easy access to the main parts of town and a tram stopped right outside the hotel (you can pay for the tram on the tram ) the bathroom was a tad small and they need a better shower curtain as the floor got soaked...
Central location but quiet
Staff could have been a little more helpful
