Staff was very polite & efficient from check in to check out, we felt very well cared for our entire stay. Our room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities in the room were all great. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and eating on the patio with a view of the harbor and the lighthouse was delightful. The location was perfect, it was an easy walk into town for dinner and we were very close to attractions. Parking was €20 for the night, I thought it was included when I booked. Room had a view of a wall, which was disappointing.
Everything ! Availability of superior rooms with no view of sea !
We were made very welcome and the Hotel was very well placed for the park and shopping. The view was hardly inspiring.
proximity to local transportation international channels size of room was too small even for one person extremely loud at night rude employees!
Location was good and hotel's decor fun and kitschy. Small room.
Near to the City, clean room Room was very smal
Location was excellent I wouldn't say it was 4 star. It was very basic and tatty in parts.
The availability and efficiency of the staff. The quality of the infra-structure, atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The room bathroom could be equipped with more towel hangers. During breakfast it would be best if the service staff would not start cleaning the room (washing the chairs, etc.) while people are finishing their meal. It disturbs a bit the breakfast experience.
convenient location, not too noisy
We got a good deal for the 'Privileged room' and we were given an upgrade to the next level as it was out of season and they had the ability to offer it to us. Was great to have a large room for a few days. Close to the beach and loads of shopping, restaurants, cafes and the stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. They had all the flyers of tourist things at the counter. Wifi was good. No TV reception for english channels.
Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful. We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was very central with easy access to buses and trains.
Location No parking facilities offered to guests, however there is a public parking with preferred rates overnight
Staff is very friendly, breakfast was excellent, hotel in general (colours, furniture...) Room for breakfast is too small for so many people
The ambiance was nice- classic old style .The rooms were big and the view spectacular. Unfortunately the bath tub drain cover was not working so it required a nail file to remove the cover to drain the tub. This was repeated every day of our stay without the staff fixing it! The room was not cleaned on returning in the afternoon and we were told by reception that we had to call for cleaning !The wall tiles had black mould which Is really unacceptable in a hotel of this class.also, our room had chipped paint around doors and peeling wallpaper trim. All in all,This hotel needs revamping. On the plus side, the location is the best in Nice. The staff were very poor in responding to complaints - no apologies ever.My room smelled of mould ,to discover next day that there was a furnace type room opening into my closet, which did not have a door.On complaining ,I was given an excuse instead of an apology. Also, after staying 3 days,I was stopped by a security doorman on entering the lobby ,to question me if I was staying at the hotel. Very very upsetting and again ,after telling him yes ,no apology. Good staff should know the guests and be carful before causing an embarrassing moment. The service at breakfast was very poor and the buffet layout difficult to manage due to the tightness of the restaurant.
Bad brekfast? bad plage, bad service, wery high preis - but only in this year
Wonderful wonderful staff and location location location. The rooms were well appointed and in a style that suited the hotel. The balcony was a great place to get a lovely view of the sea. The rooms were larger then most European hotel rooms and air conditioned which made it very comfortable in the August heat. The public areas and dining rooms were very comfortable and charming. Good business center with easy access. The carpet in the halls made it hard to move luggage around and did not fit the period and style of the hotel. Some of the art didn't suit the hotel ambiance. The carpet in our room was very worn and old. The bathroom had chipped sharp tiles and had not been updated which was a little disappointing for the price point. We were also disappointed that no one informed of the beach facilities available.
Good taste and comfort all over + restaurant Chatecler - the best I ever experienced food/wines and ambiance. Nope.
Very helpful staff; they even said "Have a nice stay" in my language that was amazing! Excellent localtion; place full of arts. You have a feeling that you stay in a museum but you really like it! Just spledid! Nothing, just perfect place.
Perfect location, nice sea views, really interesting interiors. Some service points, at the reseption and consierge points.
Historic building, beautiful lobby Rooms definitely need refurbishment
the interior of the hotel is exelent, very historical! The restoran is also very doog! Service of the reception and also reception manager was full boor. We planed to stay 21 day- and changed the hotel to another one on the 2 day of our stay!!!
Comfortable bed and luxurious bed linen! Very conveniently located to exhibition hall and shopping. A little warm with windows close/noisy when opened (month of October)
In general a very serviceminded staff except the outdoor valet parking klerk that was unpolite and very hostile in his attitude. Replace your valet parking guy.
Great new oceanview suite upgrade during busy conference prices at the spa ... massage euro 260
Location Choice at breakfast
Great service, better than usually expected in Europe. Some rooms need updating. Hallways need to be refreshed, cleaned. Old building.
very nice staff, helpful when asked. the hotel is very close to the center of the city, i had access to taxis, buses and train. walking distance from the beach, wonderful scenery. yeah, reception desk is not informative. All food is cooked with wine, that maybe romantic for some, but its disgusting for others. Remember that hotels are for strangers and canne is an international distention. some staff don't speak good English so I had hard time conversing.
location no comments
Rooms, bed very comfortable, great check in and concierge service. Location was perfect Pool area was closed due to convention set up this also included the outdoor dining area for breakfast. Beach service was lacking compared to the rest of property
We liked the grandeur of the hotel and the location is very central for access to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The beach club pier is also a spectacular setting for relaxing and swimming. For a luxury hotel where you are paying a very high room price anyway the additional chargiong for facilities such as use of the Beach Club and swimming pool is outrageous and we will not return to the hotel on that basis alone.
Quality and location, Right for money
La localidad fue excelente y el personal Lo único que siempre la cama matrimonial son dos camas individuales unidas y es incomodo y tuve la mala suerte de tener una tubería rota en la ducha y cada vez que se abría el baño parecía inundado. ( prevenir esto )
iconic hotel .Was there 30 years ago , and then 15 years ago... comfort is really from the past. . They have not updated the bathrooms , not redone the rooms
Best place to stay in Cannes, although pretty pricey if you want the best rooms - but it is Cannes! They have remodelled the 7th floor suites but the rest of the hotel could do with a refurb as some of the rooms are looking a bit worn, we did not stay in the room booked, which was a superior sea view double as we were not happy with it, but upgraded to a suite, which cost much more but was more acceptable.
the room was very small and no view
the staff and setting of the hotel are excellent I felt my room was shabby had peeling paint etc, needed redecoration
Very disappointed. They give me small room and facing behind hotel. old hotel and not five star hotel.
Location Update and renovate the interior while keeping originality
Place, Image, Atmosphere Room too hot. Air conditioning not very good.
the location is excellent, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the lobby was nice the room was old. and small, the room costs and the room was not as ecpected
The Hotel was very nice and friendly staffs. very nice place like a dream
Location of the hotel not as luxerious as supposed to be
much too expensive and should always include bkfst and a newspaper
Over all a great experience since arrival, very good complementary high speed wireless internet , great breakfast and wonderful bath and shower along with quality interior, worth every cent.
Location close to the sea front The Pool was very small and the sunning area was very small and could only take a small number of sunbathers - we had to instead use the private beach which cost 34 Euros
Friendliness and courtesy of staff None
Firstly the location was fantastic, 10mins from the airport and 10 min walk from the old town. Our room was beautiful and big with a big balcony over looking the sea. Could'nt fault it.
It was right on the beach front and a short walk to the two tour buses for Nice. The staff was very friendly, spoke many languages besides French, room service was excellent and very pleasant. No
our room was facing the mediterrania, so beautiful. it is so close to restaurants in town and shopping.loved going to the casino after dinner. it was so clean and spacious (our room).
Wonderful hotel. Excellent quality and service. Centrally located.
convenience to activities and shopping Bedroom carpets not properly hoovered, air con.not perceptily effective.
The majority of your staff could speak english very well. and they were always very friendly and professional particularily Olivier the concierge
Large spacious room, robes, slippers, fabulous bath There was no blackout curtain... Luckily I brought an eye mask!
staff, service, breakfast, location - excellent, by the sea, good shopping, easy to get to railway station, old city, shopping streets by walk
Very child friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is top of the line in all aspects.
Friendly staff. Location. Room design.
Location and freshness. New and clean. Stylish
Location & view from hotel room balcony. Nothing
Nothing: it was an extremely disappointed experience. This Hotel does not deserve by far, being a member of the Leading Hotels of the world! Rooms with old and dirty furniture, bath old and dirty
The Service is horrible
room service and conceirge service excellent A/C was not good
Practically everything except the very highparking charge also the cost of breakfast was a bit ver the top See above
I like the location. The breakfast is delicious. The staff is really polite. The other people who stay in the hotel are really chic. And the concierge works really hard and they have really good choices of restaurants, bars and information about other cities in Cote D'Azur. The hotel is good but it really needs to renovate. It should be up to date.
excellent location , staff and services
beautiful hotel the gourmet-restaurant was closed (on sunday evening)
Close to main strip and restaurants, opposite park for children, child-friendly staff, available parking reasonably priced
I know hotels in jlp quite well, but not this one. From the rail station it is a little hard to find, but when you do the location is ok. The important thing to remember is you do not have to cross the railway line via the overhead walkway to reach the hotel, you can go under a bridge a little way towards the beach. If you want a quiet room, go on the other side from the ones facing the children's playground and the road. It didn't bother me, but some people might not appreciate the noise of the kids during the day and the noisy Vespas at night (also some loud man talking outside the hotel at length late at night!). And remember that during the winter months it is a bit of a home from home for elderly retired people from Paris.
location, price, facilities. I was very happy with the hotel.
It was my second stay at Les Strelitzias and it was wonderful again. The room is spacious, renovated and very clean. The staff extremely friendly. Great value for money!
Location nearby city center, modern, comfortable + a fine restaurant and a beautiful cozy lounge bar specialized in anis cocktail beverages + large outside patio in a calm and protected yard
We liked the restaurant. The fact that we booked a room with a balconey but did not get one. Although we stayed nine nights no effort was made to upgrade us.
This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were lovely, very modern and spacious.
Large room - good location - excellent breakfast
Close to the beach, nice and friendly staff Expensive breakfast, location off city-wise
small bathroom without practical furniture!
Overall style of the hotel and its superb location No parking - in a very busy and complex town
Nice place, nice staff
Staff most helpful
Staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the location was perfect.
Staff was really friendly
Renovated rooms on the 5th floor are fabulous, soundproofing is great. Location is excellent, staff is well trained and friendly.
I like the location the staff very not helpful at all ,had to ask 5 times at breakfast for hot water in order to have tea
The hotel is in a superb position on the seafront, the staff are extremely courteous and efficient. Furnished very well in a beautiful French style and very clean.
The hotel staff were very nice and provided lots of advice on how to move around, what to visit etc. Room was very clean. There is no carpet and it is all white tile which made it look very bright and clean. The sea view and sunrise in the morning is worth every penny spent. Compared to many of the hotels we visited in France this was the best overall experience.
Location The noise from the road in a sea view room The breakfast far too expensive
Nicely renovated, good size room, comfortable bed, lovely modern bathroom, spotlessly clean, very nice staff. Secure, underground parking 5 minute walk away. In the heart of Antibes, bustling during the day, nice and quiet at night, close to everything, no elevator. Stayed 5 nights and would definitely stay there again. There was nothing we disliked about this hotel.
The hotel owbers are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are freshly decorated, clean and comfortable. The position is perfect for touring the surrounding area which is stunning. Breakfast was good and in pleasant surroundings. It would be good to have a communal / central sitting area, especially if you are travelling in a group, but the owners were happy for us to sit in the dining room.
Very central location. New and clean updated units with nice bedding. Very difficult area for parking in area. No elevator. Very basic Petit Dejuner which was more expensive than advertised. No English TV.
Rooms were fitted to a good standard with modern fittings and were cleaned regulalry. We were asked to pay upfront for our stay including breakfast before being shown the room. Also on the last day of our stay breakfast was not available when we needed to leave at 7.30 and we couldn't get a refund either as there were no staff available. There was no parking available close by to drop off bags and limited parking in Antibes for long stay. There are free places near to the beach front.
Modern comfortable design. Internet did not work in the room. Connection was poossible to the hotel´s network but not to the internet.
Lovely, resonable spacious room for a city hotel with great staff and a very good restaurant. Would have loved to have an elevator since our room was on the 3rd floor.
La Place is an excellent value and a great choice if you are staying in Antibes. The owner, Bernadette, as well as the rest of the staff, were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. When we arrived on our first night, Bernadette even moved her car to give us the parking spot right in front of the hotel! She speaks English (a big bonus for us non-French speaking tourists!) and helped us plan out a day's worth of activities in Antibes. The rooms were updated, modern, clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable as well. The restaurant on the ground level of the hotel is an added plus - we ate breakfast there every day and actually ate dinner there a couple of nights, too - the food was tasty and again a great value for the money!
Beautiful design, good location for shopping The air conditioner didn't work well, it was very hot when we arrived at evening time. I called the reception two times, they promised to come and do something but they didn't, so we suffered the very hot room even in autumn time, +17 degree outside. They only fix it in the next morning.
The Incredible architecture, fantastic staff and superb rooms.
Beautiful hotel, good location, very friendly and efficient staff. The hydrotherapy pool is lovely
Very accomodating, not too big and felt personal. The service is exceptional and the spa is a must-do.
The hotel seems over-rated. It gives you the feeling of being old or overused or at least not well taken care of. Beyond the intention of design...some of the fittings seem...cheap... Plus, the idea of having the bathtub in the room could be special, but it is not practical. The lights are also not thought in a practical way...
Great location. Friendly staff. great room. All extars very expensive - eg breakfast or to have a drink in the bar (22 euros for one cognac !)
Food and Hotel were gorgeous. WiFi 7E for 30 mins in reception! No WiFi in bedrooms. Should be free in bedrooms.
Nice adjacent restaurant. Clean room with an bit odd, but original, design. Clearly visible that the hotel was renovated last year. Noise level in the room was a bit high due to the busy road outside.
You can hear everything in the corridor. not good service at all. horrible breakfast
the roses all around the place no service after 12 a.m. :(
great hotel ,great design , nothing
Good location. Very dated room. Very uncomfortable bed. Terrible internet connection -we gave up using it eventually.Breakfast items not renewed -get there early or have limited choice.
the beach is just in front of our room, very nice place for seeing sunrise, walkable distance to some sight-seeing points... no lift provided, limited wifi service provided (very inconvenient for those like me planning the itinery of next day in evening...)
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful, location is great for the beaches and only a 20 minute walk into the the historic part of Antibes and the port area.
closeness to sea
Location, laid back but professional attitude of staff, closeness to beach and town centre restaurants, parking in hotel or nearby. Not cheap but where you want to be in Antibes.
The staff were excellent and helpful. The downstairs reception and bar/dining room was very pleasant. The double glazed windows were effective in cutting out the worst of the loud traffic noise. Very close to the beach, cap d'Antibes and proximity of bars/restaurants. The air conditioning was noisy and kept bleeping. There is alot of traffic noise. This factor would have been ok if the rooms were less expensive.
proximity to beech
It was ideally situated for our needs, All the staff were friendly and helpful, rooms very comfortable, clean and well maintained.
Fair handling - invoicing, payment, forthcoming attitude - parking booking, very friendly with personal touch and client-oriented. no
staff very nice uncomfortable bed and blaring beach music all night - a Friday night - for which the hotel called the police several times with no response
Lovely room and great view No life in hotel lobby. Some staff rude others excelent
Excellent location, comfort, facilities (panoramic terrace and swimming pool) Lack of flowers/plants to make a more friendly atmosphere
Staff Location Room No wifi to a rewards member because we booked through a reseller! CHEAP!
Location, cleanliness, and food. n/a
very good location, very clean room
The hotel is fairly new and very luxurious, situated right on the beach in the middle of Cannes. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. Also very quiet. The shower door arrangement is a complete failure. There is no way of stopping water running out onto the bathroom floor. but you have plenty of towels to mop it up. The staff in general could be more friendly to give the place a better atmosphere.
location services, room problem, did not fix same day, did not change the room
Very good location, newly rebuilded, swimming pool on the roof (at extra cost), nice service from most of the staff. Our booking through booking.com confirmed room with private terrace/balcony, but the reception clerk did not give us such a facility. They claimed that booking.com promised more then they could keep, and this was not the first time it happened. The hotel manager however gave us the required room with balcony two days after arrival due to our complaints to booking.com about this. This experience was very annoying to us. The mini bar is also very expensive charging 7 euros for a coke for instance. Internet at extra costs and breakfast to 32 euroes is also on the dislike-list. Normal roomprice was 1,200 euroes per night, we paid 35 % through booking.com. Without discount is the room rate totally absurd, in spite of the superior location.
beverage prices are ridiculously high so we never used the bar....TV €50, not realistic and not industry standard.....wifi should be free or if not should be cheaper...it seems that the hotel attracts people with resonable room prices and then robs them with their services...€8 for a Coca Cola?
Excellent room and good view. Very good situatio Swimming pool at top is dissapointing. Small , not very nice and no staff present. Hotel still in renovation
the bed was very good to sleep on ! the shops are closeby ! the breakfast was not according to the standard of the hotel, you have to pay for everything !
It is in a wonderful location, it faced a nice square and had lots of great restaurants nearby. The room as very quiet and the ac worked well. Only one glitch, the shower door kept coming off the tracks.
The price is right with good quality. Location is outstanding as there are many restaurant around and only a few blocks to messe Picasso There needs to be an explanation to new guests (especially from oversea) that the location is somewhat hidden and not reachable by car unless you know that area well in advance. It is located in the back end of an alley.
Relaxed atmosphere, nice location, nice gardens, helpful staff Nothing really. There was a problem on the first night because our reservation was for two rooms and only one was available due to a comminication problem. We used a room in a nearby hotel for that night.
The hotel is tucked away in the area of fabulous wealth, incredible estates. There are wonderful walks in the area. A car would be necessary in order to have decent access to restaurants and Cap D'Antibes beaches.
Hotel staff was very helpful. The phone at the reception was quite noisy and woke us up in the morning a couple of times. There are very few restaurants around the hotel.
Friendly and accomodating staff, beautiful rooms, and an excellent pool set in attractive well maintained grounds
I appreciated the helpful staff and the spacious bedroom and spacious bath.
Pleasant reception staff, charming dining room/bar, general atmosphere Room (basic) rather gloomy; repair to basin plug not carried out
The staff - every single one - were amazing: helpful, informative, and attentive. The hotel was so clean and well kept. The pool was perfect. The breakfast buffet had great selection and so fresh every day. None.
This is a charming, reasonably priced hotel for its location. The rooms are large and airy; the grounds are very pretty and pleasant. I especially liked the breakfast by the pool (even though it was not warm enough to enjoy the outdoors). Unfortunately, it wasn't warm enough to enjoy the lovely pool and garden setting. I also thought the breakfast was overpriced - we usually don't eat hotel breakfast, but there is nothing located within a reasonable distance for morning coffee/croissant. But we justified it by skipping lunch that day, plus the location was relaxing and lovely.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Talking in english or even german is possible. Superiour room with large balcony.Breakfast (buffet) worth its money, no alternative around with this quality. AC very quiet and good to sleep with windows closed. Free parking positive. Wonderful place out of high season when not crowded. Parking gets to its limits when fully booked hotel. Switch to reading, if french TV Channels are to hard to follow and forget the foreign ones. The breakfast could be limited in choice from 9:30 on, if the hotel is full. Depending on the guests noise from neighbor rooms could be possible, but it is nothing you can blame the hotel for - earplugs will help a lot. By the way, on the whole peninsula jogging and cycling takes place on normal traffic roads, nothing in "free" nature.
Lovely hotel although is in need of redecoration in some areas. Helpful staff. Nice seating area for breakfast and nice pool area. This is not a criticism just a comment for future. It might be wise to mention that a car may be advantageous, although there is a good bus service to Antibes it finishes at 19.00 and there is only one restuarant within walking distance of the hotel. Full breakfast could have been better scrambled eggs put out at 07.00 and left until all used usually around 10.00 little & often
