What are the pros of staying at Parador de Arcos de la Frontera?
Stunning views and a fabulous peaceful place. Fantastic staff, all very pleasant and helpful. Spacious room and bathroom. Spectacular view from the room. Gorgeous facility with breathtaking views from room balcony, breakfast room, and hotel terraces. Beautiful setting - hotel itself, patio with view of countryside. Amazing views and location, charming old building. Lovely old property, in a beautiful town. Lovely rooms in a historic building right in the old town of Arcos. Spectacular views. Beautiful inside and great views. Best possible location. Amazing views. Quirky interesting building. Beautiful views. Historic property in a stunning location.
What are the cons of staying at Parador de Arcos de la Frontera?
Parking is a nightmare. Do not go there by car. The room and bathroom were tired. Dinner was a bit dull. Very disappointed with the restaurant. The food was lukewarm and served on cold plates. Parking is an issue. Very narrow approach to the parador and only 30-minute drop-off time slot. The plaza next door under construction. Not within the control of the hotel, the piazza/square in front is being completely reconstructed and our view from room was onto construction site. Aircon was only a heater. Rooms smelt stale, beds incredibly uncomfortable. Old stale breakfast, hard beds, high price. Car parking was a disaster. It is so tight for even a small car plus the courtyard outside is being renovated. The service was its usual ‘Paradore’ self, not exactly service with a smile. No parking and awkward access to facility. Difficult to reach by car. Property disclosure did not mention loud construction in old parking lot outside and 30 minutes to other parking. A bit pricey. The dining experience was most disappointing. It is a government-run hotel and it feels like it. Service is indifferent and only a few can speak English well. Breakfast was nothing special. Quite expensive.

The food was excellent, all locally produced as was the wine. Nothing, it was perfect.

Opt for a Room with a View
Several guests highly recommended booking a room with a balcony facing the stunning views of the valley, as it greatly enhanced their experience.
Consider Parking Alternatives
Due to limited parking and narrow streets, consider parking in the town of Arcos de la Frontera and utilizing the available transportation options provided by the hotel to reach the property.
Be Mindful of Construction
Some guests noted ongoing construction in the nearby square, which affected the views and caused inconvenience. Consider checking for updates on the construction before booking.
Explore Nearby Attractions
The hotel's proximity to Castillo de Arcos de la Frontera, located just 175 yards away, makes it convenient for guests to explore this nearby attraction.
Check Room Facilities
While the hotel offers spacious rooms with comfortable beds and stunning views, some guests mentioned that the air conditioning was weak or non-existent, so it's advisable to check this before booking, especially during warmer months.
Consider Dining Options
While the hotel's location and views are exceptional, some guests found the dining experience disappointing, citing limited menu choices and lukewarm food. Exploring dining options in the town may be worth considering.
Plan for Accessibility
The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill, and due to narrow streets, parking and accessibility can be challenging. Consider this factor, especially for guests with mobility concerns.
