Location is excellent
It was central with good parking Room was basic but functional, but breakfast was awful and waitress unhelpful. Receptionist was good and did not charge for breakfast. Initially we were overcharged for the room, the special rate not having been applied.
excellent location for centre of town Rooms were dirty, decor poor standard. Fire doors were locked on top floor- wanted to walk out but as I had pre booked, would have lost my money Could not get a drink when we arrived very hot - just wnated a soft drink from the bar, but not open until 7pm.
Very close to the center of Arles
It was easy to get to the hotel and it was in the center of Arles. It is a very old hotel that badly needs to be renovated. The whole room design is out-dated and bears sign of extensive usage. This Best Western is way too expensive for what it claims to be!
Perfect location for exploring Arles and surroundings.
excellent location, confortable and clean rooms, nice staff
Central location, reasonably quiet at night,it is conveniently close to cafes and restaurants. Hotel completely taken by coach groups hence breakfast had to be taken at a nearby cafe because of the overcrowded breakfast room. The dinner menu for individual visitors had very little choice and only changed once during our five night stay. Fotunately there is a wide choice of restaurants close by. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to to eat there.
Hotel was central. Free parking on streets at Hotel ask the staff for details. Free Internet in Lobby. Small on Pool on Roof. Lift was out of action for our stay.
comfortable, quiet, clean, friendly location is convenient, but not pretty --not much they can do about that!
Swimming pool, big hall Bad bathroom, with wrong solutions..
Employee's where friendly and helpfull A lot of the corners on the walls where banged up and we had to keep our daughter away from all the chipping paint.
Convenient loation, not too far from old town of Arles Need more food selection at the restaurant
The staff was extremely helpful, courteous, and pleasant. We had a problem with a rental car agency and the staff was able to help us contact them and interpret.
The location was excellent, right in the center of things. Staff was quite helpful, accomodating and generous. For the price, recognizing the location, we were disappointed with the overall condition of the hotel. It is rather tired and looks it. The building is a charming old one, but could use some upgrades. These comments only reflect our views on the common areas and our room. Perhaps there are other, nicer rooms available.
Interesting historic building with poor quality rooms and facilities. This hotel is over rated and is not a four star hotel. In need of refurbishment.
excellent staff,. excellent restaurant, Meals were very well prepared and highest quality. Staff were very helpful. Wonderful location. Very pleasant atmosphere. Very pleasant common areas. Quiet, clean. everything was very good
The breakfast at 20 Euros was a great disappointment. At that price there should be a good selection of breakfast dishes. By comparison to other hotels charging similar prices it was not satisfactory.Whilst our beds were turned down on the first evening, they were not on the second. We arrived on market day and were unable to access the hotel by car until mid afternoon.
There were a couple staff members at the front desk that spoke very good English and were of great help with local information. The rooms are adequate but need updating. The restaurant is amazing but come prepared with mosquito spray! All the staff is very polite and professional. The walls are very thin and you are able to hear conversations from people in neighboring rooms.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was in an excellent location for seeing Arles. It was very clean and well maintained. Despite being in the centre it was quiet and the gardens and pool were very pleasant places to sit. Not applicable
staff is polite and freindly, especially at front.room is pretty.and easy to access by car. nothing special.
Helpful and friendly staff.Good atmosphere. Bed too small and uncomfortable.
The hotel is in a very nice square, which is also very close to the city monuments, shops and the restaurants. Our room was a little small; the double bed covered almost the whole room, maybe comfort room might have been more spacious. Ont the whole it is a cute, clean hotel with friendly and very helpful staff.
Very clean and very comfortable. Friendly staff. We paid for breakfast and felt it was good value for money. We would stay here again. Lack of drawers and hanging space for clothes.
Big room with balcony overlooking square, excellent breakfast, happy and informative staff Aware no lift but there were a lot of stairs to the 3rd floor!
Proximity to attractions and balcony with view of Place Voltaire, plus a great bed with plenty of room. No lift meant getting baggage up two flights difficult but staff helpful in assisting.
Location, cleanliness, airconditioing in very hot weather!!!
very good location near the city center with perfect room with balcony.
Great location. Good layout and design, nice art work. Will be back
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location. Stairs only. Bit noisy but didn't keep us awake.
Room was tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The location was good, close to the sights and restaurants, as well as being easily accessible by car - always got a parking space in the square directly outside. Carrying luggage up to the third floor.
The problem was that we spent the previous night in small b&b near Beziers. Quality and cservise was uncomparably better for exactly half the price. So if you need clean, comfortable bed to lean your head for the night very near the old town and you are not bothered by the money that much it's a reasonable choice. Remember it's just a place for sleeping nothig more As other guest previously mentioned WiFi not working (it was suprise for the staff when mentioned)- not a problem for us anyway
Beautifull room, an oasis in the middle of Arles. Breakfast out in the garden. Staff wasn't that fast, we had to wait a long time for our luggage and car (after checking out).
A free upgrade to a suite was nicely provided by the hotel. Very charming hotel.
food is outstanding, a very special hotel toilets too high, would be nice to have had the pool heated
Nothing If this hotel is booked, it is critical that detailed direction on how to find it are included. the hotel is located on a street that does not allow cars, and is almost impossible to find. I drove for > 1 hour and could not find it, and went to another hotel to have them call the Nord Pinus, to try and give me soe directions on how to get there. Very disappointing hotel.
The staff was especially friendly and helpful. They also spent a good deal of time helping to improve our French. It was fun and a very pleasant stay.
Central and good rooms No ambiance
The history of the Hotel and its proximity to the roman buildings. The entire town of Arles is an excellent d example of the layout and workingsan old roman city The Van Gogh references were a dissapointnent, This didnt bother me much as I think any artist who can only sell two paintings while he is alive says it all for me, childish, and off scale . The Arlesians didnt want hin there at all it seems and insisted was moved to an asylum. The lady in charge of the hotel could not convince ne about the Joan Baezs visit and concert or the whereaabouts of the Charlotte Rampling famous nude photo
Tasteful period style furnishing with fine old furniture in bedrooms and public areas. The bathroom door handle fell off several times.
Garage parking - really didn't fancy trying to find somewhere close in the centre of Arles. Really pleasant and helpful staff - map of city centre handed to us immediately, really prompt booking in procedure. Charming front terrace in bustly square for digestif and coffee after dinner. Intend to go back some time as this was too brief a stay.
I stayed in the Grand Hotel Nord-Pinus with my son. It was a real gem, the interior decor was fascinating combination of the past and yet a stylish boutique hotel. The hotel created a feeling of a small, friendly, helpful hotel in the middle of the old city of Arles. The hotel is situated on a charming square full of cafes and restaurants. Although the breakfast was good however simple, we thought that it was a little expensive.
Very nice, and quite quirky but also elegant. A really good mixture of old and new. The staff were all great, and fell mover backwards to help us in any way they could. Nice big rooms too. no nothing
the location and the town and thecharm of the hotel breakfast was eh
Flexible front desk; lovely garden for breakfast Only that they were booked and we couldn't stay an extra night like we wanted.
great location, easy walking distance to some very good restaurants, helpful staff not enough pillows!
The receptionist, Barbara, went out of her way to accommodate and please us. We liked the proximity of the hotel to all the sites.
The staff was helpful and the location was great.
The location is terrific. Across the street from the Amphitheater and steps away from wonderful Provencal shopping. The hotel is charming. Very clean, air conditioned. Staff is very helpful with ideas for tours, restaurants etc. Stayed here ten years ago and loved it. Was not disappointed upon my return. No
Excellent location in Arles. We were lucky to have a room with terrace where you can enjoy a splendid view over the old town roofs. The hotel could be top rated and very highly recommended unless the following would not had occured. In our travel guide the hotel was recommended and they especially highlighted the cool garden with palm trees. When we arrived in the afternoon other guests were enjoying drinks and snacks in the garden. After buying some food from the counter we were refused to sit in the garden without any practical reason and we were forced to sit in the street with direct sunlight and 35 C while there were enough free tables in the garden, there were no reservations and the garden is passable for hotel room access 24h.
The room was charming and very clean. The hotel has an excellent location. The staff was so helpful and smiling. It's a great price for a great hotel.
It was comfortable, clean, affordable, spacious, and a very, very friendly staff. It will be my first choice when I return to Arles. I liked everything...
Friendly and helpfull stuff. Room we stayed was big, comfortable and very nice. Breakfast was good, satisfactory food. Nothing disliked.
This is a lovely hotel with a superb garden and delicious breakfasts. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious. One member of the office staff was less than helpful, but this was more than made up for by another very helpful person.
The owner / manager was extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is well located, just across the bridge from the city and there is pleny of free parking available in the vicinity of the hotel. This location is far superior to being in the heart of Arles with its narrow streets and limited parking. The walk across the bridge to the heart of the city, e.g, the Roman Theater, takes only 10-15 minutes.
Change of linen daily. Very helpful staff. No hassles whatsoever. Convenient location in quiet area. Good croissants! We were lucky to be able to park outside and there is a lot of local free parking but on a bad day visitors may have to park a street or two away.
The hotel was cosy and welcoming. The room, although small, was very clean and comfortable. We loved the roof terrace where we could relax with a book and a glass of wine. Parking could have been difficult on a busy weekday.
Hotel owners were extremely helpful. Nice place to stay. Room was clean. Private garage. Breakfast could have been a bit more substantial for the price. Expected ttriple to have three twin beds, but there was a small double bed (smaller than a queen) and one twin.
It's lovely hotel. Although it is not easy to find at first, the staffs were really kind and the value for money was excellent.
The owners were so friendly and helpful. The hotel had character and great for walking to places. We should have got our map sorted first!
good location accross the river from the old town, very nice people, decent size room, very clean
The helpful and efficient service.
The hotel was across the river from the town of Arles and very easy walk into to city and also to look at the old ruins etc. We ate at the Wilson on the main boulevarde which was good. The hotel is quiet and the couple who own/run it speak very good english. Unfortunately it was a very windy day (the mistral) and we weren't able to take advantage of the roof top terrace which I believe is great. We were also very lucky to get a park right outside the hotel.
Ok for a cheap one night stopover, but no restaurant in the hotel.Easy walking access to town.
We had been robbed leaving Barcelona and were very upset. We arrived very late in the evening at Mas de la Chapelle and not only was the owner a wonderful host, but the place proved to be a sanctuary away from the city. It was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. I had a great time there and it was my favorite place on our entire trip! No. Everything was wonderful. Although the websie directions were not the best, the place had signs along the way which were very helpful.
the peace and quiet, the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly and helpful welcome
A pleasant surprise with rather eccentric gardens. Very comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Very friendly service throughout our stay.Wonderful garden setting. No bar or restaurant, but owners happy to encourage picnics! Individuality of rooms amazing.
the garden only the rooms were not clean enough, there were kinds of insects, there is no any service ( only one receptionist who leave at 19:00 )
Having the pool their is a big plus. The house and grounds are fabulous. The staff are very helpful and courteous. Sadly the Hotel is some distance from the town and it really requires you to have a hire car or the taxi fares can mount up quite quickly. This leads on to the fact that you can't stay in town after the last taxi has gone because they knock off around twelve midnight and as we found out you'll have to walk home in the dark and it takes at least 1 hr. The room despite being called a "superior" certainly was not, it was nice but in no way superior.
The strikingly stylish interior design and decorative style of the this unusual building. The lack of any coffee making facility in the room
Knowing to stay in a mas that in the 16. century was a Chapelle, made it more special and the fact that it the location is very quiet and very personal. The garden is very romantic! Nothing that we where allert!
A little piece of magic, really delightful hotel close to Arles for exploring or just chilling out by the pool doesn't serve dinner which is a shame
Very quaint rooms with beautiful gardens It is a distance from town so you need your own transport as stated on previous reviews
Dreadfulhotel would not recommend, no sound proofing, out of town and basic facilities.
Room were comfortable No laundry!!!
the hotel in nice, small and quiet with a good swimming pool. the breakfast is poor for the price
the swimming poolwas perfect to cool off after the long walk from Arles
The room and the swimming pool.
Large room with terrace giving on to garden - large pool with sun loungers. 20 minute walk to bullring. Breakfast at €11 not bad value, although there is a patisserie 5 mins down road which would be cheaper. free parking. Overall a pleasant experience. Reception staff charming
Cindy was personable and offered advice on touring plans. The breakfast was reasonable and convenient. Spacious. Use of the computer at no charge was a big bonus. This was the best hotel during our 2 week stay in France.
Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. More of a motel than a hotel. Hotel is dated - very much needs updating. A little overpriced in my opinion. We did not like the location very much. Was ok for an overnight stay.
The hotel was quiet, spotlessly clean (all areas) and the staff were extremely helpful. Our room was spacious, well furnished, and good value (we had a reduced rate as we visited late in the season). Breakfast choice and quality was excellent - quantity too. None.
The swimming-pool. They make a big fuss with the breakfast. One has to pay for the breakfast separately (10 euro per person), tell them the night before and even tell them at what time one wants to have breakfast. However the breakfast was really disappointing. We arrived at the time we told them and the breakfast wasn't ready yet and were given defrost bread and croissants (inside they were still frozen). The choice of food for breakfast wasn't great and the quality was poor. Not worth 10 Euro per person.
Warmest most helpful people at the desk. Helped with dinner reservations at nearby restaurant, which was also fantastic. Good breakfast. Clean, spacious room and bathroom.
Great location, very helpful staff, comfortable hotel with everything you need. Would definitely stay there again.
The hotel is well placed to explore Arles and the surrounding district. It is an old, but well refurbished hotel with really friendly, helpful staff. The bar is large and has a pool table. There is a small pool that is open from morning to 9pm at night. The pool is in a walled garden that contains lovely plants, with plenty of tables, chairs and recliners. Our bedroom overlooked the Place du Forum, and was extremely spacious, furnished with antique chest of drawers, writing desks and the bathroom was breath taking. A huge antique porclein sink, good shower and a bidet. The decor throughout the hotel was excellent. All very spacious. We have stayed here before, and would do so again. Good value for money. Nothing at all.
Location was superb. Could have been more clean,
The staff was very friendly. They gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to eat. The owner told us about some great wines from her home town. The hotel was great, but as lots of people said, getting there was a real problem - we got lost a number of times. We had trouble finding the street signs.
The staff was very nice, the location was great (near the main square), the room was huge and the beds super confortable.
hotel in great location, after negotiation narrow streets to hotel.limited car parking at hotel .adequet free parking 5 mins from hotel. basic old style hotel .
The people working at the Hotel Du Forum were fabulous, they provided us with lots of local knowledge, they were friendly and very accommodating and helpful. The Hotel was as described, the comfort and friendliness of the bar was a nice suprise. None - our stay exceeded our expectations
The Hotel staff were very helpful and nice. The information of how to access the hotel by car (lacking). It is very difficult to find the hotel by car and a link to a map of how to get there would be very helpful.
Central location Building works on going near hotel so had to relocate from original room
Convenience to downtown Arles. The location if driving is impossible. We literally wasted hours trying to get to their garage. We left early and rebooked a place outside of town as we used our car everyday for day trips.
The character of the hotel was fabulous and we liked it's central location although we did have difficulty finding it. The service at breakfast was very slow and many tables were left uncleared.
The location of the hotel was perfect for accessing all parts of Arles on foot which was good since once you manage to find a car park space in Arles you don't want to loose it! (car parking is a nightmare in Arles....) On one day we did not get our room made up and queried this with the Front Desk who apologised profusely (advising the cleaning staff were new) sorted it immediately and offered us free drinks at the bar.
Everything was beautiful and interesting. Location was also good for access to the train. The negative was that we could not connect to the internet. No one could help us get connected and my husband was quite frustrated about this. We did not have this problem at any other hotel on our two week trip. I also had some trouble booking on line until your web site showed up. Also, the online reply returned to me from the hotel was in French which delayed the booking process until your site appeared.
Good location but a bit difficult to find. Great pool facility for the kids. Weak air conditioner.
The location was great, it was close to everything. The staff were very helpful and we were able to print our train tickets in the lobby. The room was large and the beds comfortable. I really liked the bathroom, very clean and the shower was big for France. There were only stairs up to our room, I'm glad we did not have heavy suitcases.
A building with a character and nice interior design Toilet was very small and it was not possible to close the door
ground floor room poor mattress, no parking
I liked the the hotel's central location and accessibility to the sites, as well as the proximity to the train station. I had several conversations with the owner, Alain, about my late arrival. He was very upset with me for e-mailing him, as opposed to calling him, about my change in schedule. I apologized to him several times, but he kept at me, and frankly, I started avoiding him to prevent new conversations about this transgression - this persistent browbeating detracted from an otherwise good experience.
What did we like? I think the location was ok, and it had some pay and display parking right outside, where you could pay in the evening for a view hours in the morning, in case you want a relaxed awaikening with out a ticket. But you do have to shift the car by half eleven latest. After having stayed at the "Citéa La Bastide Du Roy René" in Aix this hotel did bring us immediately back down to earth! The room was tiny and cramped, it had no coffee making facilities and the window was also tiny, It felt like a partitioned of part of the hallway. When we tried to go to sleep it felt like the other guests where walking through our room, the headend of our bed was against the corridor right next to the door. It definetly would pay off to be last, if you want a good night sleep. The breakfast was nothing like in the brochure (promoting local produce) There was some proceced cheese and some cheap salamy available, no choice of cereal, it was very basic and not ideal for kids.
Alain and Martine were lovely people, helpful and gracious. We will always remember our stay with great fondness.
Very friendly and supportive staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only problem we've faced with is the shortage in parking places. But it is typical for any old city in Europe.
Very charming hotel and room. Very central location in the wonderful town of Arles. Ability to control the temperature in the room.
A really nice, family-run hotel, in a great location in Arles. The room was spotless. The buffet breakfast was very good. Nothing.
The owners were charming and extremely helpful. Parking is difficult.
Nothing special to remember other than eggs available for breakfast Very difficult to find; website very unclear on distance from train station; cracked cups and plates; breakfast area too cramped; no cereal spoons supplied; cereal choice too sweet
Clean and comfortable rooms, very nice staff.
Friendly helpful staff, hotel close to Arles (4 km from city centre), close to motorway, useful for visiting the Camargue (~30km), and swimming pool to cool off in after a long day's sightseeing at 38 C. Not enough staff for all they were expected to do, e.g. receptionist was also having to supervise breakfasts and do cleaning tasks.
Close by auto to major city and shopping. Staff friendly. Good Coffee. It had mosquitoes and possibly other room insects. Walls needed cleaning or painting.
Was very central located, parking although not part of the hotel was easy and the room was just soooo cute!! Old but that is what gave it charm and we loved it! Also, the room was very big. We were 2 adults, a teenager and 2yr old and a baby in a famly room with a bathroom and the space was wonderful. Staff were also very helpful with questions and very friendly. Breakfast was just ok and there were areas that need some freshing up but we enjoyed our one night stay.
swimming pool was nice. Very nice hotel personal to welcome you. Choose rooms in front of the pool with small balconney. No room for extra beds.
Nothing We reserved two rooms. On our arrival at 11 pm one of them had the double bed unmade, as it was left by previous users, with the tv remote in the middle of it, and the room was in a mess. They gave us another one. The other room had a double bed made of two twins; one of the twin's bottom had several broken slats and the mattress sagged so it was unusable but it was past midnight and the guy at the desk had been the most unpleasant hotel clerk I met in 30 years of world travel, so we decided not to do anything about it. The hotel looks nicer in photos but it is right next to and sort of under a major highway. It's ok to spend a quick night if you get a clean room and avoid dealing with the staff.
It was the most inadequate hotel we have stayed in within last 2 weeks!!!!! Room was very small, furniture was below par, beds were terrible and cleaniless was almost indetectable. Bathroom was not clean, linoleum on floor, tub with totally insufficient shower, in short, we have not stayed in a hotel that was this below our expectations. I could not recommend it to anyone and I am sorry I selected it from your website"pricelineuk.com" - sorry! There were even ants on furniture the next morning.
good location, with large garden, cheaper. easy to go to the city centre in Arles
The hotel for the money is excellent. Safe, secure, functional and practical. Service was good and the atmosphere friendly. We had a family room for one night with five beds in and it was not overly crampt. A budget travellers hotel. (I did not see any other rooms) The bathoom was clean and useful but could have done with some maintanance nothing to scary.
Possibility to have some dinner and some drink in the bar in the evening (after 7 P.M.) No services in bar in the evening (after 7 P.M.)
The air conditioning could not be set low enough to be comfortable. We could hardly sleep because of the heat. the air condition was set up so it could not be lower to a comfortable temperature.
The location (not necessary to have a car to visit Arles) Expensive for what it is - Mercure hotel in other cities was better, eg when you took a shower, the bathroom floor was wet; Etap hotel is in the same building, with rooms of the same size, and much cheaper, we also staid there and apart from some smaller luxury (watercooker, mirror) the Mercure was not better ... so we'd suggest to rather choose Etap
The hotel is well located, 3 minutes by car (10-15 minutes walking) from the town center. Room needs improvement
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Everything worked and cleaning was a of a reasonable standard. A comfortable stay. Located in a fairly run down arabic part of town. Restaurant terrible - eat somewhere else!
Meeting Pete Doherty
Nice hotel, well cared for and maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Not located near City Center. Long walk or as we did, take the car and pay for parking.
Staff were very helpful with information on the local area and very friendly
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was lovely to be able to come back to the hotel after a hot busy day sight seeing around the local area and have a refreshing swim, or the chance to cool down in the rooms.
clean and the breakfast ... good! to walk, it is far from the old city.
Stayed 3 nights. Good value package at this hotel made the overall stay worthwhile. Decent sized swimming pool and generally sunbeds available at various times to the day. About 15 mins walk to the old town - not the best of walks though. Staff excellent and attentive. Free internet. Very near to autoroute so handy for stopover. Rooms are a little bit jaded now. Bar and breakfast prices little bit on the high side but in keeping with this hotel chain.
It's close to the centre but on the opposite side of the river: this means it's still quiet day and night. The pool was wonderful, towels provided, during the very hot afternoons. Breakfast rather pricey but pleasant out in the garden. The rooms were very small with no sound proofing.
Breackfast ok Room too small and with poor furnishing
Pleasant bright hotel with helpful pleasant staff Rather over priced Swimming pool lurid green, in need of cleaning and preparation for guests. Was not pleasant to overlook!
Lovely room. Swimming pool
Good location. Great staff. Clean room.Pool. Our 'king size' bed was a small double bed. Fortunately for us there was a little single bed in our room, so I slept on that and my tall husband slept on the other. There was no single bed in our friends' room. If you are tall, be prepared to accept small beds or go somewhere else.
Restaurant was excellent. Staff was extremely helpful. The only free parking we've had in France. Room/shower excellent.Great hotel None
Easy walking access to the old city. Quiet location.
Good location - only 10min walk to the city center. There was a public parking lot in front of the hotel. I wasn’t satisfied with the cost-performance ratio. The hotel wasn’t really cheap but the rooms were quit poor – they needed renovation and they weren’t really clean. The WiFi only worked in the reception area and only temporary.
Excellent restaurant Hardly up to 3 star standard. Very small room. No parking space available. No elevator. No help with luggage up the stairs. Reception workedin slow motion pace.
There is a very nice pool at the hotel that we used every morning before we started the day. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is a bit strange, but Arles itself is a bit strange. Advised to have a car to access hotel, although it was not really that far from the sights. (over a bridge) and parking difficult in center.
